This was the worst experience ever cause covid19 we had to w a it outside almost 2 hours until a nurse went outside ask me a few questions and toll me I'm going to talk to the Vet and call you back, two hours after we left the place with our Dog sick. As soon they notice I drove out they call me to ask if I still waiting. They don't Care at all....

We took our pet because he had a lack of appetite and had a red eye inside, waiting time 7 hours they performed an x-ray blood test eye check total cost $ 1,000 result needs more tests the cost will be $ 3,000 more and the eye is a blow that was given and they gave him only an ointment. We decided to take our pet to another veterinarian at an affordable price for their exams, the appropriate waiting time and fast result, veterinarian works with love for his profession. "The red eye is because he had a high fever for several days, it was not a hit" and the diagnosis was accurate. In my opinion, the consultation was not satisfactory.
Had an early morning scare with my dog and brought her here. The staff was great and the doctor on call was wonderful. Walked me through everything that was going to be done and took time to explain what was happening. Spent a few hours there but only because they had an emergency case that was brought in after the initial exam. Thank you Dr. Pratt, Kat, and the other staff members!
We had a very similar experience to some of the other reviewers, with the staff clearly more interested in upselling us on unnecessary tests than on providing actual quality care. We brought our cat in with an illness she's had several times before. While under their care, her conditioned worsened (not their fault), but every point of contact we had with the staff, they tried to hard-sell us on expensive tests for other conditions we knew she didn't have. It got to the point where they called us, told us our cat was on her last breath, and if we didn't have them perform a particular test she would be dead within the hour. So we had them do the test, and my wife and I wept and freaked out because we had no idea it was so serious. It turns out, it wasn't serious at all! The test was unnecessary, as we had told them many times before, but they sure succeeded at extorting us into paying more. Once they finally did the procedure we had been asking for since the beginning, our cat was fine. She just needed to rest there. My wife tweeted about our experiences, and was immediately bombarded with calls from Premier's marketing department demanding that she "check her attitude." We received easily twice as many calls about a frustrated tweet than we did about our cat's actual health, culminating in them -- I kid you not -- kicking our cat out and telling us we were never allowed back. Because she tweeted that she was frustrated with their service. We had to move our cat to a different facility while she still had a feeding tube in because brand management is more important to Premier than providing quality care. The point is, the actual vets and nurses we talked to at Premier are wonderful, but somewhere along the line, the company's priorities have become a rotten mess of greed and myopia, and our pet s life-saving treatment was delayed for several days while we tried to hack our way through a jungle of sales pitches and brand management. We have several pets and have been to a lot of vets over the years. This is the first time we've felt like we were at a used car dealership. Try Furnetic or Your Pet's Wellness instead.
I took my 7 week old puppy around 9pm because she stopped eating, and looked lethargic. Due to Covid-19 you can t accompany your pet in. I was told she was not doing great but her blood sugar was back up and her temperature had risen as well after paying $321 of the upfront $500 deposit required for them to even see your pet. I asked if she was going to be okay and explained in detail that I don t have a lot of money due to the pandemic and I was told she could be back the next day for the same thing and they re worried but it would be over $1500-2000 to keep her oVet night and give her sugar and fluids. They gave her a prescription and told me she had been moving around and to bring her back if she got sick again. They brought her out with discharge papers, and I made it home maybe 5 min later. She died in my arms within 10 minutes of being home. The paperwork I received all said she was going to die at home, a detail that they forgot to mention to me on all the calls and before I paid my last $321. How do you not tell me she isn t going to make it. Take my money ask me to apply for two different credit cards just to pay you more money for her to die in front of my kids 15 after you handed to her to me. The puppy they handed me was already dying if not dead and there was no way in heck she was moving anything she couldn t even open her eyes. Do not go here they are all about getting as much money as they can from people and that s it. Worst experience ever. Never got a call back after I left because they knew they covered their butts by putting she was going to die at home in the paperwork 3x but not once saying that to me in the 11 phone conversations we had while I sat outside waiting for my puppy for 4 hours. These people DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY PET OR PERSON JUST FINANCIAL GAIN.
My dog went in with respiratory distress last night and he was immediately taken in and helped...everything looked pretty grim for us at first. The doctor talked to us about all the possibilities as to why my dog was not breathing properly and we did all the recommended tests. Needless to say there was as much transparency as possible regarding diagnosis, estimates, and aftercare. I'm so grateful to the entire team at premier. You were all above and beyond amazing! The care you gave my boy is something I could never repay. Thank you so much! Yes I 100% recommend this facility.
I felt the need to write a review because I was skeptical About bringing my pet here. But everything was very easy and The Doc was super thorough about everything goin on with My pup. The price is reasonable you can t expect to have less Then 100$ for the care of your extended family via pets.
Taking precaution during this pandemic was some thing I appreciate it as well. My animal was taking with care and returned with care.
My experience was great and they really took their time with my dog and I appreciate that so much.
The staff was calming to my dog and family when everyone was on edge. The doctor did a through exam and offered options for care with pros and cons to each decision. Once receiving bad news regarding our dog's prognosis, the team was patient and kind and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. As unfortunate as the loss of our family dog was, the compassionate care received by Premier will not be forgotten.
I ve been here more times than I would like to admit. But for each time I ve been in for my dog the care has always been outstanding. The triage process is quick and the staff is very helpful. I feel my dog is always in safe and capable hands when we come to Premier. If you are experiencing an emergency situation, day or night, this is the place to come to.
I brought my cat here late at night after he threw up multiple times. It s an ER, so be prepared for long wait times. Tl;dr: they got the job done, we were treated with courtesy, and I believe my pet received the right treatment. Details: They saw him after an hour or so of waiting, recommended bloodwork and imaging and gave me prices so I could choose what to do. After the first X-ray was inconclusive; they sent us home after hydrating him and we came back the next morning for a follow up X-ray since my cat wasn t improving. There was an even longer wait since their computers were down and they wanted a radiologist to read the x-rays (they were concerned about a foreign body). I was given a worst (potential surgery) and best case scenario (recovery while observing at home), and the price ranges for each of them. In the end, my cat did not need any invasive procedures and got better on his own. A lot of people commented that they are money-oriented, but I think it makes perfect sense for them to tell you all the financial options for any possible outcome (there is a lot of difference between $600 and $6000), and it also makes sense for them to be prepared for the worst possible outcome for the pet, even if it s unlikely. I wasn t happy about waiting so long, but they kept me informed, told me all my options, and in the end did the right thing for the well-being of my cat. All the records and procedures were transferred to my regular vet after I left in case follow up was necessary. They also offered me snacks and water when I said I hadn t eaten anything all day. I have no idea how they operate if your pet is a regular patient here, but as an ER, I found their services satisfying. Would recommend.
Had a great visit. I was freaked out when my cat had issues, but the staff was friendly and polite and very knowledgeable. I was happy that they didn't try to push me into expensive procedures that probably would be helpful, but not necessary in this situation. Glad to see an emergency vet that didn't try to put me into the poor house.
If one has an appointment this very well might be decent establishment, however, if you need emergency care I strongly suggest going to another establishment. The staff is friendly enough, but this business is clearly not suited to handle walk in customers.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PER HERE IN TIME OF AN EMERGENCY MY 5 MONTH PIT BULL PUP WAS VOMITTING FOR 3 DAYS. SHE WAS NOT EATING, NOT DRINKING WATER, VERY DEHYDRATED AND LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT. IT TOOK 4 HOURS FOR US TO EVEN BE SEEN BY THE NURSE JUST TO TAKE HER VITALS. SHE WAS EVEN THROWING UP IN THE ROOM WE WERE PLACED IN AND THE NURSE SEEN IT. AFTER 30 ADDITIONAL MINUTES PASSED, MY DOG STILL WAS NOT SEEN. HOWEVER, I DID WITNESS A CAUCASIAN WOMEN COME IN WITH HER CAT AND THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAT TO THE BACK. I DO NOT RECCOMAND NO ONE TO THIS PLACE IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET
Every visit has been great. From the ER to Neurology to Oncology. All outstanding docs. Best vets I have ever been to in Chicago over the past 20 years.
Had to bring my cat in on the 4th of July. My regular vet was closed due to the holiday and they had recommended this place in case of emergencies. The entire staff was caring, patient and attentive. A busy lobby full of fur babies on a holiday and they made me feel like my kitty was their top priority. They are caring, kind and explain things very well. I am so thankful I ended up in such good hands. These folks are absolutely top notch. Definitely recommend them!!!
Extremely caring and understanding in serious situations.
Their surgeons and doctors are clearly well informed and not afraid to help you stay informed.
I feel I must also bring up how quickly they will connect you to whoever is watching your pet at any hour. Within seconds my phone call would go from the front desk to the doctor and they were always happy to answer any questions.
Some other hospitals didnt make it this easy to connect to the doctor, so just as I applaud the doctors and surgeons for their mastery of animal care I must also applaud the desk staff for remembering my voice and my pet's name and quickly getting ahold of the doctors for me.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I brought my dog at 2am on 6/16 because he was having a hard time breathing. I waited for over an hour to receive an update and another 90 minutes to actually go over my dog's history with the doc. My dog died at 5am. Handing him to the receptionist at 2am was the last time I saw him. They had someone else's pet name on my paperwork, charged me for a radiology consult that never happened because my dog died first, and they double charged me for the cremation. Additionally, they had my name spelled incorrectly on the invoice. If you want to feel comfortable and confident that your pet is being cared for, please take them to another clinic.
I have brought moonie here for 3 emergencies. Sometimes the wait is long. I don't trust all of the vet techs because one tried to stick a thermometer that was way too large into my chihuahua.
The fee is fair and they always make sure moon isn't in any pain however, there were a couple occasions we couldn't find the issue and it's very frustrating considering the large bill you receive afterwards.
Last year my 14 year old dog had issues with her kidneys. They did an ultra sound and it didn't show very much ($$$). They prescribed a few meds and a change in her diet. Two weeks later she died. As other reviews have said they are on the pricey side. In *my* dogs case they didn't help out a whole lot but she would probably have died anyway. They seemed to upsell a bit, though.
Around this time last year I took of for about a week left my dog with a relative when I came back my dog was sick.At the time I got back this was the only place that I could take him to,the Vet must of saw Me coming they ran all kinds of tests also an X-ray that they couldn't read so they had to send to another Vet more $$$...To make a long story short that day cost me almost 700 and they wanted to do surgery on him but couldn't explain exactly why ..the surgery would of been close to 6 thousand dollars... My dog was 100 % fine he had separation enxiety, needless to say I didn't pay for a surgery that would of probably harmed my dog and didn't need ...A year later his as strong as ever going on 10 years ...
I brought my cat in last Sunday morning because he was bleeding from his nose and wasn't eating or drinking . The service was great . We waited a little bit about an hour or so and after see ing the doctor it was about another hour for then to examine my Simba . Within 2 days I had my simba back . Eating and playing . Thank you ladies .
I recently brought my cat to this vet for one of those classic midnight emergencies. Everyone I spoke to at this clinic was extremely polite and professional. All estimates from wait times to cost, was fair and accurate. I especially appreciated my caring vet, Dr. Venhuizen for discussing a few different treatment options with me with the risks as well as the benefits. He was super informative, understanding and down to earth.
This was an especially refreshing experience after having a really tough time with the other local emergency veterinary clinic.
We unfortunately lost our dog yesterday to an unexpected illness. It was a sad day, but the team at Premier did an outstanding job treating our pet, and informing us to make medical decisions on our pet's behalf. The team walked us through medical options, clearly explaining the risks and benefits of each option. The team was candid with its pricing and kept us looped into what was happening during a hectic and chaotic emergency situation. I don't know the market for emergency animal healthcare pricing, but their prices struck me as reasonable. We were counseled on end of life care, and when we ultimately made the decision, the team was very compassionate, empathetic, and understanding. My family, including our pet, was treated with more dignity than most human healthcare practitioners provide.
I hope that we do not need an animal hospital again, but if we do, we will be taking our pets here.
Quit service, but not worth the money. The doctors just gave me the run around, and weren't much help. I brought my kitten in because she was spitting up, And they were no help with any of my concerns or questions. He even called her frumpy! I called back because she seemed to be getting worse, and the nurses response was I could bring her in for a second visit, (another $100)
My dog Cookie was here almost 2 years ago for Parvo and honestly I tought she was going to die and thanks to them she was good Whitin a week and they gave me updates
My cat has conjunctivitis!! I ran out of drops for her and I just needed to get a refill. I have the empty bottle. I was willing to pay for it. They wanted to charge me 109.00 for the visit and then anything else would be extra. Are they that desperate for money at this facility? The only reason I called is because it's Sunday and my clinic is closed. I will just have to wait one more day until my clinic is open to get her refill from them. Won't be calling this place again..
Took my 2 month puppy in spent two hours here. It took 4 different vets to come to the conclusion I would need to spend 816 dollars for a blood work test and xray. When I told them I couldn't afford that they then brought out a different option which costed 400 for them to run different tests. Again telling them I couldn't afford it they tried to sell me medication that would have cost 275 after going back and forth I spent 109 for the physical exam and 63 dollars for a test they didn't even tell me they charged extra. They are a place strictly for trying to take advantage and get the money in your pockets. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!
The hospital staff is VERY professional caring and attentive. I ve taken my dog here on emergent occasions and each time she has recovered beautifully each time. I m quite thankful to the staff. I recommend this Vet ER to everyone who can afford it.
**I will say however PRICES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE.**
Emergent situations(overstay at hospital and treatments depending on situation) can range from $1000-$3000+. One time visits and treatments can range from $250+.
They will ask you to file for a credit card if you plan on doing a payment plan. I DO NOT recommend those with financial restraints to this hospital as you need to pay the moment they come to a diagnosis/recovery plan.
I hated to give bad reviews, But with this review I hope to help others! Yesterday my 3 year old Yorkie was in labor for about 12 hours, I was worried because I believe (I'm not a VET) My dog couldn't deliver the pups normally, So I am thinking she would need a C Section, So my vet recommended to premier animal Hospital. They did an examination on her, not sure what they did!! So they walk us to the room, The Doctor was asking me a couple for questions, So I had ask the Doctor to see if it's normal to be in labor for such a long time, and her response was she wasn't sure, she wanted to get an ultrasound, to see if the pups were in distress, and the cost of that would be $435.00 that includes the $109.00 visit , And if they are she needs a C Section which would cost $4,000 (my dog is 4 pounds) that does not include the visit or the ultrasound , Long story short they are way over priced$$$$$ But I thank them for recommended me to the Animal Welfare League, its very busy clinic but so worth it, My Lola had 4 pups through C Section
I really wish I had read the reviews before I came here. My dog was throwing up all day and so I decided to take her in. They made us wait an hour and a half before seeing vet even though they saw she was throwing up blood every ten minutes. They finally put us inside a room which took another 45 minutes before we saw the vet. They told us they were going to run some tests and the total would be $800. At that point I agreed because my dog looked in so much pain. About an hour later the vet comes back and says that we might need to consider putting our dog down because "she is very sick" but wouldn't tell us what was wrong with her because she needed to "run more tests" what person says that to someone?! And she sounded so inhumane and horrible when she was speaking to me. The whole time she was talking she wouldn't even look me in the eyes. Then she concluded that my dog was "very sick" still not telling me what was wrong with her and she was going to have to spend the night in the hospital and that ended up being 3,700. Then the nurse at the desk told me there was a payment plan available but I would have to put a down payment of 3,000.... that didn't make sense to me at all. The next morning the doctor called telling me she was doing a lot better and that they didnt find anything in the blood or xrays but they wanted to do an ultrasound that was 400 and they would need to call a doctor in which would be another 100 just to be sure they didnt miss anything.. when i said no she tried to make me feel guilty about it. This place doesnt care about your pet they just want to take as much money from you as possible. They made the situation so much more worse than it really was ad the purposely freak you out so that you agree to paying all that money. I now realize more than half of the tests I paid for weren't even necessary. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Now a week later my dog is better than ever and I still cant believe I had a heartless vet tell me I should put her down.
Our family dog got very acutely sick in July. It is unlike her to be sick, so we took her in to a different vet. They diagnosed her with HGE & sent us home with her (despite my better judgment). She ended up passing away early the following morning, less than 20 hours after her first symptoms appeared. My first experience with Premier was taking her body in. They were compassionate, helpful, and empathetic... Let us have all the time we needed with her and explained all of the options they offered for cremation as that was the route we wanted to go.
Fast forward 2 months later, my other dog began to exhibit the same symptoms that our other dog had. Given the prior circumstances, I immediately took him in to Premier because I did not want to take any chances. It was about 6 am, and we were helped quickly. Dr. Venhuizen was wonderful. Good vibes, listened, was understanding and empathetic, explained everything in detail and made sure that we understood everything that he was explaining. EXACTLY what I want in a doctor. Clare S. took my dog in the back for blood work and x-rays. Clare, you are an angel. My dog has always put up a little bit of a fight when he goes to the vet because he gets a bit anxious. He's also 80+ lbs and a strong boy, so that doesn't make anything any easier. He hates getting on the scale and he's not a fan of other tests, so I wasn't surprised when Clare relayed that to me. His anxiousness is enough to make someone lose their patience after some time. Clare never did. She was so sweet from beginning to end. I ended up keeping my dog overnight to ensure that he had the proper care and was receiving fluids. I also want to acknowledge who I believe her name is Erika at the front desk because every single time I called, and both times that I came in (to drop him off & pick him up), she was nothing but sweet and professional as well. While my dog was staying there overnight, I called a few times for updates and every single time I did, I was happily greeted on the other end and I never felt like I was being annoying for calling or for wanting an update multiple times a day. I got play-by-plays by the hour of his progress. I wish I knew the name of the nurse who discharged him and gave me all of the at-home instructions (if you are able to look that up please do and give her the recognition she deserves), because she too, was wonderful: very detailed, empathetic, explained all instructions, listened to me vent, etc. My boy has been home going on 2 days now and he is already looking and feeling so much better. Lastly, I want to acknowledge that the summary of the chart notes and the visit was unlike anything I've ever seen before in my previous experience of taking my animals to the vet. There are DETAILED descriptions of EVERY conversation I had, including my initial reason for coming in, updates for each time they checked in with me to confirm the next tests and that I had consented to them, etc. WOW!
Going through what potentially I thought could have been another traumatic loss for our family again was something that I was not ready to do ... every single member of the staff at this location that I mentioned above helped to put my own nerves at ease during this time. Please recognize these individuals for their compassion, empathy, kindness, patience, excellent skill for their practice, and their obvious love of their jobs. THANK YOU.
This place is absolutely terrible , my husband took our dog there because she got into a fight with another dog and had puncture wounds that needed to be sutured and they first made him wait over three hours to even be seen , then they took our dog and made him wait even longer ... what kind of vet is this that they make anyone wait this long ? It shouldn t take well over 4 hours for my dog to be looked at.
my dog has been sick and vomiting ,got here at 8:30 am and wait for a hour outside the emergency room, they told us he is next, then we seem several dogs go ahead and i ask and told me another hour, and hour and a half goes by and they told us another hour and that they dont know, the unorganized way they run things is the worst definitely if your dog is not feeling well take it somewhere that knows what to do.
As is the case with any ER clinic, very long wait. Kind employees but slightly better communication and perhaps periodic updates would be better suited opposed to putting us in a small room for 70 minutes before a nurse stops in to take the vitals.
A few days ago, my dog Stan, swallowed the felt of a tennis ball. We thought he might pass it, but it eventually became lodged in his upper small intestine. The folks at Premier took images of Stan and quickly confirmed there looked to be an obstruction in his digestive system. While my girlfriend and I discussed what to do next, Doctors Vuolo, Bailey, and Jankovits (plus their amazing team of support staff - namely Collette) went to work stabilizing Stan and getting him ready for what looked like was going to be a pretty serious and invasive procedure. After a series of x-rays, we confirmed together the obstruction was not moving through Stan's system and that he was not going to be able to pass it. For us, there was no other choice, but to go ahead with surgery. He would have died. And as soon as we made the decision, the team at Premier quickly and efficiently executed what they are professionally trained to do. Dr. Jankovits (the surgeon) was as minimally invasive as possible. And because the team early-on recognized where the foreign body was located and that time was of the essence - Dr. Jankovits and his surgical assistant were able to remove it using a technique that didn't require them to cut into Stan's stomach or intestines. This technique greatly reduced the chance of infection, gave Stan the best prognosis possible, and was cost effective. The team at Premier took great care of my best friend. I am extremely grateful for their caring, professional advice and guidance. Stan and I are both recovering from a stressful couple of days and look forward to Stan's follow-up appointment.
I have unfortunately had to bring my dog Moonie in here a few times, but fortunately the staff here are excellent. I credit Dr. Timm with saving my dogs vision after she suddenly went blind this past winter, thanks for everything you do!
Every single person on the staff was wonderful. They had a surgeon on call in the middle of the night who came in right away to operate on my dog. Even with the bad circumstances this was by far the best veterinary experience I ve had in 10 years of having my dog.
I'll admit I was nervous coming here after reading some of the reviews. But I felt that my dog, Jake, received excellent care. The staff was kind and professional, and Dr. Simpson was very thorough and upfront when discussing treatment options. I didn't feel pressured to make a decision, and was given accurate price estimates for tests/procedures. My dog was correctly diagnosed and received treatment that has improved his (and therefore my) quality of life.
If you love your best friend / family member please !! please!! do not bring your dog to this clinic. staff members don't care about your pet , they just care about over charging you for service. Over the weekend i took my dog to this clinic because she was having problems breathing and is close to home. when we arrived they took my dog the the treatment area, and it took 45 minutes for some one to see us in the waiting room with paper work to filled out. It took another 30 mins for the so called veterinary lady to see us. we were told by her that our dog had a respiratory infection, and she needed to take x rays of dog's chest. after another 30 minutes she came back to the waiting room with an estimate over $4800.00. $350.00 for x rays , and $260.00 for an "EXPERT" to read the x rays plus other charges like $300.00 for "other procedures" without them telling you what are the so called other procedures. After over 3 hrs. without any medication and Oxygen offered to my loved one, my dog had a seizure and past away. This post is for information only, if you don't care about your loved dog then take your chances.
My dog was brought in last night for eating chocolate. My poor husband was there for hours. He was told that our dog would need to be hospitalized overnight and the cost would range from $1300-$1800. They told my husband that we would have to pay the low end before leaving the dog there. We said okay. I have Care Credit. They would not take it over the phone and suggested that I call care credit and see if they would add my husband's name to my account. I explained that I could give them the information over the phone or come in first thing tomorrow. They said that wouldn't work. I asked to speak to a manager. They had to call someone because there was no manager on duty. And only a manager could authorize taking my payment over the phone. Unfortunately, they couldn't reach anyone. Meanwhile, my husband was waiting and waiting, and waiting. So, I contacted MedVet and they were willing to work with us. Save your time and energy and go to MedVet.
No matter where I live if I ever need trusted advice I call Premier Hospital, they've always taken good care of my large pup that isn't an easy patient to handle. Also, they give excellent care but try to save you money by not adding things you don't need.
The doctor and the nurses give Jimmy excellent care and before any care is given for Jimmy the options are always discussed and a price estimate is given before the test is done. The nurses are nice and they give me good advice and if I leave message to call back they call me back. The nurses and the doctor are very polite and they answer all of my questions and discuss all of my concerns and they give me a plan that works out the best for Jimmy and I options and resources that I research on my own or discuss with my vet. Premier looks out for Jimmy and gives Jimmy excellent care. I like the doctor and the nurses at Premier they help me to choose the best plan to help me take care of my dog Jimmy. The nurses at Premier like Jimmy. Jimmy is very comfortable there and Premier had helped choose the right treatment plan for my dog Jimmy. When Jimmy had to have a biospy done I was able to call Premier to get an update on how Jimmy is doing and I had gotten diagnois and a treatment plan for Jimmy and I am extremely satisfied with Jimmy's progress since Jimmy had started at Premier. Dr. Bob and the nurses are excellent. I get excellent service and care from Premier. I had concern about Cat Bert and arthritis and the nurse had told that Premier has nurosurgeon and orhtopedic surgeon for Cat Bert and an optomitrist for Jimmy if I need to have the cataract treated at Premier. Premier would get 10 stars for its excellent care of Jimmy. I give the staff at Premier high marks. Jimmy is happy and healthy dog since he has started at Premier.
I came in with my cat who is an alley cat and at the clinic we named him Goofy.. So I guess his name is Goofy from now on. He probably got into a fight with another cat and his eye was injured. We felt very bad for the cat so we decided to take him into the closest animal hospital. We came in around 6 pm and even tho the animal had no vaccines and no history, the people there took care of the animal with no hesitation. Overall the staff was very friendly, fast, helpful and nice. The doctor even gave us multiple treatment options and let us decide what we wanted to do.
I recommend this facility and want to thank all of you who treated our cat that evening.
Goofys eye is now fully healed and now his an indoor cat. Except a couple of evenings we have let him outside to have some fun. We have made an appointment to get him neutered and after that he will have a 100% indoor life
We were recommended Premier Vet Group from our regular vet, Pets First, when our cat Marco had an emergency. Premier has great COVID precautions and made it easy with numbered parking spaces. The front desk and nursing staff was very helpful and professional. Dr. Ryan Bookstaff was excellent. He explained everything that was going on, what was needed going forward with various treatments and was very up front about cost considerations. Unfortunately we had to put Marco down. Through that heartbreaking process Dr. Bookstaff was exceptionally kind, compassionate, understanding and professional. Though the outcome was not what we wished, we would highly recommend Premier Vet and Dr. Bookstaff. We will chose them again in case of any other emergency.
Came in for an ER visit and everything was up to par. The wait times were accurate between each step, and the staff and surgeon were very professional every step of the way. While we didn t get the news we were expecting, I m happy I came to premier.
I had an early morning emergency with my pup King. His tail got cut. I called and the lady helped me get him situated at 6 AM. Upon getting to the facility he got an estimate and cleaned up.
This is the most amazing vet on earth. No matter who is working when you get there. Very sharp and talented life savers will take the time to help your furry babies just like they did for my Bailey. At 9 weeks old we didn't think she would make it, but they never lost hope. I'm truly indebted to Premier for their amazing service to both of us!
Took my pup on a Friday morning for a minor issue. There was only one other person there. The staff (front desk, nurse, and doctor) were awesome! They saw him quickly, fixed him up, and we were off again! Hopefully I never have to come back but if I do, it'll definitely be here.
Brought my cat in for vomiting and diarrhea. Despite being an emergency hospital, they were very quick and I was able to see a doctor right away and have my cat treated in a fairly reasonable time. I always hate that they take your pet away to do treatments(no matter where you go) but they gave me a good vibe and I'm pretty sure they treated him well. I recommend this place.
They saved our dogs life! Our Doberman had been improperly diagnosed by Medvet up the street and 3 hours after being released (from Medvet) his system was failing and he was a hair's breath away from dying. He spent 5 days at Premier and for a while it was touch and go. They called multiple times a day with updates and followed up once he was sent home. We are so grateful for the level of care they provided. Happy to report that our sweet boy is back to his wonderful self.
Took my pit bull (Canelo) bc he swallowed a mini peanut butter cup while driving home from the holiday weekend and was throwing up in the morning. They were so nice and understanding. They explained to me everything that could be wrong and after X-rays and some fluids bc he was dehydrated and a frantic call later that day bc he had a lump (it was the fluids) my dog was back to normal the next day. The cup just passed on its own. Never was I giving an attitude and cost was explained since the beginning. I feel like it wasn t expensive being that it is an emergency room visit. I do want to say if you have a younger pet, get pet insurance. It will save you tons.
This animal hospital is exceptional, Dr. Katy Simpson was beyond and above amazing with out kitty. She explains everything so well, was so patient with all of our questions and concerns. You can really tell she has a passion for animals, I felt more than taken care of. The staff was very welcoming and personable, will be using for future emergency care.
My puppy found rat poison so I rushed him to Premier and they got him in immediately and treated him and returned him to me within an hour. The staff was very nice and explained each charge before they saw him or administered any treatment, which I of course would have paid for whatever was needed to save him anyway, but I appreciated the service. For those complaining about the price...it s emergency care, it s not going to be cheap. I would definitely recommend Premier to pet owners for emergency care!
I am giving this company 10 days to remove any identifiable information about me from their response to my and my mother s yelp reviews. I m an EU citizen and protected by the right to be forgotten. Not to mention, Yelp uses initials. I have named no doctors or staff in my reviews, but if my info is not removed I will. Onto my review: This is not a compassionate place filled with animal lovers. Very profit driven. Good luck getting through to corporate if something happens to you. I would give this place zero stars if I could. First, they are driven by profit NOT a love of animals. Even when you give them thousands, they still will not care if your pet lives or dies. If you write an honest review, they will send you cease and desist letters and get their out of state SEO person Cindy to harass and defame you online. These people are heartless. Instead of listening to clients and changing their ways, they will harass you and try to blackmail you into removing reviews. Please whatever you do, don t bring your beloved pet here. While your pet is still healthy, ask around for which hospital is the best in case an emergency should happen in the future. Take the bad reviews seriously. These workers here who are 99 percent Anglo Saxon whites from out of state kept mispronouncing my name. I corrected them and said it s a shame they can t pronounce ethnic names because it s mostly suburban or transplant whites working there. Then they lie and say I said something derogatory. I m white myself, but I m European not an Anglo Saxon with a simple name. Therefore, I don t get how saying it s all yuppie whites is derogatory. But again, they want to intimidate me into erasing my review. Even if this company disagreed with my assessment of what happened, they should have never talked down to me how they did and sent my mother and I who are grieving terribly cease and desist letters. These people care only about the image of their company NOT ensuring customer satisfaction. If they continue to say my full name online or mention my mother s name or my beloved baby, I will seek out legal action against them. They DID nothing to reach an amicable resolution aside from talking to me like I m ignorant. I graduated law school with high honors. I m not a dumb person. Both their medical director and their office manager were beyond heartless in how they spoke to my mother and I. Unless you want to live with pain and regret he rest of your life, please don t bring your best friend here. I m also a citizen of the EU and protected by the right to be forgotten law, so it s in their interest to stop mentioning my surname online or any identifiable information when they respond to my reviews.
Actually, not as bad as I expected. My cat lanced her hand on the underside of our dishwasher while trying to get at a rat that our landlord was trying to get rid of. I quickly bandaged her up while my room mate called these guys to see if they could take a look without an appointment. She was gushing blood profusely and we feared that she was bitten by the rat (which very well may have been rabid). They said to bring her in right away, and they took her in with little fuss.
I wasn't 100% sure she was recent on her rabies shots as she's an indoor-only cat that is terrified of being outdoors and therefore wasn't high-risk for that. They advised me that if she was current, giving her another shot before she was due for the next would be harmful to her health. They advised that they simply check the shape of her wound-- she needed to be sedated, shaved, and stitched either way, so we went ahead with that. They ultimately found that the wound was a very clean slice (which matches the suspicion I had, in that she must have caught her hand on the sharp metal panel beneath the dish washer). The consensus was that she'd be fine without a shot, and they were right. :)
As for the price, it actually wasn't that bad for emergency services. The facility is really hoity-toity so I expected a massively disproportionate bill. I actually used to have an indoor-outdoor cat that had to visit an emergency vet after being attacked, with a similar afflictions, and the bill was just about the same. I'd say they're reasonably priced. The staff was also pretty chill. They also had photos of pet visitors and such on monitors and seemed to care. The lady that took and returned my cat handled her very gingerly.
These guys are only about the money and veterinary care for your dogs comes in last. They will do everything they can to maximize the charges even if your dog doesn t need certain tests or treatment. Just be ware. There are much better places to take your pets. Be forewarned.
If I could give this place a 0 I would gladly do so. I brought in my tiny chuiwawa at 11pm who went into labor at 6:20pm that evening. The puppies feet where out but she couldn't push the rest of the body. The doctor took her back and examined her without us being present. Vet tech brought her back and they were gone for 2 hours and a half. I only saw one person in the lobby. When I inquired several times about wanting help for my distressed dog who was throwing up and trying to push out the puppy who has died inside of her by then they kept on telling me that the doctor was busy with other patients. After 2 hours and a half I made a very firm statement to the staff that I thought this was an emergency room and I was told to bring my dog here for an emergency which I clearly was having and that the puppy inside my dog was clearly dead and no longer moving with feet sticking out of her body and that I will watch my dog die right in front of my eyes if somebody doesn't help her now. Finally the doctor came in and attended us. She gave me outrageous amounts that I will have to pay. I tried explaining that I am a stay at home mom and my income is very limited. She took an x ray and told me and my daughter that she will not charge us for it which at the end I was charged $125 for only 1 picture which was not even sent to a radiologist per our agreement. When I later questioned the charge she told me she has to charge it that she never told me she would not charged and that I signed a document for that charge and there was nothing she could do and that she was sorry for the misunderstanding. They wanted to charge me $5000 to preform a surgery on my dog to safe her life. I explained I dont have that kind of money. After giving her iv 1 x ray and some pain meds and manually trying to extract the dead puppy from her I was charged almost $600 and told that they already saved me a lot of money. The puppy at this point was half way out with his guts coming out my dog was wrapped in a towel and returned to me. I been there since 11pm until almost 7am the next day. Exhausted I drove back and ran to our vet that opens at 8am. They performed an emergency surgery pushed all their other surgeries back to take care of my dog first and charged me $1500 instead of $5000. I understand this is an emergency clinic and doctors been in school for a very long time and worked hard on their degree and should be paid for their services but to take advantage of a working class people with very limited income and pray on their emotions is crewel. You are not working to the best interest of an animal or its owner you are not trying to help. You are leaches that will take every penny from a person who is desperate to save their family member and is on the edge of selling their kidney not to lose an animal. You are strictly business driven and you are not an animal lover which a vet should be. $1500 versus $5000? Your prices are not reasonable. Look around your neighborhood you do not hold your facility in South Barrington you are serving a working class community adjust your prices based on who you are serving. My daughter and I were crying out our eyes to you we thought we will have to euthanize our baby because we didnt have $5000 to spent yet another doctor in the suburbs in Northlake was able to do the same thing for much less and save my dogs life. You disgust me in every way possible. Waiting to be attended in an emergency situation for 2 hours and a half is not acceptable. I am very lucky to have my dog alive because you would been glad to euthanize her to get money out of me instead of saving her.
Reading the reviews, I felt I needed to share my story. A lot of people are complaining how they try to "upsell" tests, and I dont think they would do that unless they honestly thought it would benefit the animal. I recently took my kitten here because she was vomiting a lot. They let me know that an x-ray was probably not necessary, but recommended just in case. I am SO thankful I paid the extra money to do so, because it turned out she had eaten part of a toy and it was stuck in her intestines. She would have died if I didnt authorize the x-ray. They performed surgery and she is healing up good! Of course an animal hospital is going to present you with all your options, even when they might cost extra. I am very thankful for the staff and doctors that saved my baby girl!
I brought my cat in recently for illness during day time and she was very well taken care of by Dr.Jankovits and his staff. They explained everything very well and kept me notified about everything. The service from the morning staff and the doctor was excellent.
I had to bring my cat back in again due to an emergency in the evening. I did have to wait for more than an hour but finally Dr. Hayburn checked my cat. Dr. Hayburn was very professional and she explained everything very well and was very very open to answering all questions. I truly appreciate her professionalism. She is quite brilliant!
I do have to mention that the receptionist, Lucy, was quite rude in her interactions. She would not even look at my face, when I asked her some questions and seemed very unapproachable. It seemed as though she was just pretending to be busy, staring at the computer. At the end of the visit , she waved her hand and referred to us as "hey guys, come over and pay your bill" without even looking our way. Very unprofessional. She took the money but never gave us our discharge papers. Later on the Doctor came to the front desk to give me the discharge papers and apologized to me that I was still waiting. She said that she had paged the front desk to get my papers but there was no response. Lucy just ignored it...I wonder if she is racist or just a slacker.
On another occasion, my pet insurance had contacted Premier to get medical records. My pet insurance company said that they spoke to "Lucy", who said that she would fax the papers within 5 minutes but she never did for a week! My claim was just sitting there unprocessed.
I would have given a 5 star rating, had it not been for this irritating experience with unprofessional/uneducated/ignorant/racist staff members. I wish that Premier takes disciplinary action against its rude staff members. Either give them proper training to treat clients with respect or just get rid of them.
Dr. Full and Dr. Bailey did an incredible job with my puppy yesterday. The team is always super friendly and Jean is a great department leader. Awesome 24 hour Specialty Hospital!
First time coming here and the staff is beyond excellent and very nice. When I first got there it was packed a little bit but they had our pet in and out in less than 2 hrs. Very happy with the customer service we received this evening! Definitely will recommend this place to others
Not bad experience. Nice doctor, fast service. Offered me different options budget wise. The only thing that I didn't like was the price of the bloodworks. However, doctor discussed all the options with me and we did only major ones. My dog feels better today. Thank you.
Horrible service, brought my dog because she was having complications giving birth, I was scared for my dog s life as well as the puppy s. The front desk lady gave me attitude when I asked if I could have a room, and the nurse that came in kept rolling her eyes and providing horrible body language. Both women kept on insisting on me filling out a paperwork when I am anxious and scared to know what is wrong with my dog. The front desk lady comes in later letting me know the Dr. said blood work had to be done, and if I can afford it, it s $300 and something dollars. She later asks, well what can you afford? People come in here for help since it is an emergency vet hospital, and this place seems to be more worried about the money rather than providing help for our pets.
My small chihuahua was attacked by a husky and it was Friday evening, so we needed to rush him to an animal hospital. My pup was in grave shape, and they took him in immediately, and were so gentle with him. The doctors and nurses kept me up to date on every step. They provided timelines that were accurate and impressively swift. They told me when they would call with updates, and they did, every time. I never felt at a loss, or not knowing what was going on or when I'd hear from them. My pup was in their care for 2 nights and they took extremely good care of him. When they needed a second look at X-rays to see if there was internal bleeding/organ damage they sent it them to the radiologist and quickly had an answer. My dog was severely hurt with broken ribs, one of which completely crushed, wounds and terrible damage to his tissues and muscles. The bill at the end was so extremely reasonable, I was shocked. Also, I called twice with follow up questions during his recovery and they made sure to connect me to a nurse or doctor and took the time to walk me through everything, which I am so incredibly grateful for. The staff at this animal hospital literally saved his life and I can't thank them enough!
Never take your pet here. They are predatory. It has taken some time for me to be in the proper emotional state to write this review. Back on Sunday November 23, 2014 I brought my Cat, Gepetto, to this animal hospital as it was the only place open close to my home. It turned out he had bladder stones and they wanted $800.00 immediately in order to treat him. Being a Sunday with my Bank closed and my ATM limit being $250.00 I told them I could not come up with immediate payment but could pay first thing Monday morning and basically begged them to treat my dear pet. I was told they would NOT treat him and would NOT bill me for treatment, and I quote " You do not work for free do you?" Well, I am an auto mechanic and you generally pay for your car repair upon completion I explained. At which point they told me that is not how it works here. They proceeded to explain that they could bill me to euthanize him in the amount of 300.00. At which point I became slightly emotional and defensive. I told them to return my cat to me and I would take him somewhere else. I was then told for them to give me my cat I would have to sign a refusal of treatment release form. I refused as I felt I was not refusing to treat him they were and told them very firmly to give me my cat now! They called the police and had me removed from the facility. My girlfriend remained. They euthanized Gepetto, and had the nerve to offer to bill her another $200.00 for a box to bring Gepetto home in, for a total of $500.00 as opposed to treating him for $800.00 that they would not bill us for. Am I wrong to find this unbelievable? This place is horrid! Please do not use this despicable business as there are many very good vets in Chicago. Gepetto was a beautiful 2 year old, sweet as the day is long, full of life and love and did not deserve to die in this fashion, a piece of me died that day with him.
First time here came in with my dog he had a problem with his anal glands great place nice staff the lady at the front desk didnt catch her name was sooo nice and conforting to my self! Had a long wait but i mean its a ER just like human ers you still have to wait i understand once we got seen the doc was sooo understanding and explained to me in detail what was wrong also gave me a couple of options as to what could be done to my dog since i explained i was on a tight budget a day befor christmas eve who wouldnt she did the best she could to help us out i appriciate that the nurse july she was super nice to my dog i would recomend this place 115$ for the cunsultation and expect to wait but its well worth they will help you!!! My dog lucky thanks all of your staff
Take my pet for a problem in his mouth we worried because he could not eat, we stayed in the hospital from 10 pm until 4 a.m., he had several sedation exams, etc (fact that cost us $ 700) and the Dra like result only gave pure suppositions, no specific results. The next day we took him to the usual veterinarian, as soon as he checked he said that he was only changing his teeth and his gums were swollen and he did not even give him medicine. He said it was normal. Judge the service that Premier provides.
We had to bring in my cat Red for complications with diabetes. I couldn t ask for better service from this emergency clinic. From constantly being kept in the loop about how my boy was doing to the Vet doing everything he possibly could while also keeping the cost as low as possible. While I hope I don t have emergencies like this in the future I would absolutely return here again for help. Red is doing much better now after a couple day stay at a lower cost clinic that Premier helped me find. It was expensive but for the level of care the animals receive and the bedside manner of everyone in the office it is easily worth it.
After my dog having a dental procedure he wasn't eating, he barly was drinking water, wasn't taking his medications, became weak, couldnt walk, stand and was very wobbly/shaking. I had a Vet appoinment for him on Monday morning but Sunday night I couldn't take him falling over any longer and took him to this ER in a panic that his condition could be a stroke or seizure. I waited at this ER for 3 1/2 hours which I feel was a long wait because it didnt seem busy in the front or back and only 35 minutes of the wait time was my dog looked at and I was talked to. When the Dr finally came in she took a look at my dog, I gave her full detail of his dental procedure and explained he wasn't eating or taking his medication. She told me my dog is alert and it didn't seem to be anything neurological and she wanted to keep him overnight for "observation" and to run blood test. I felt she kept repeating herself as if she was trying to convince me to keep him there and the test she was suggesting was a must. After her telling me my dog is alert and it's nothing neurological and giving me a estimate of $1,700 that I had to pay right then and there I decided to take my dog home and take him to his Vet in the morning. I'm so glad that I made that decision! I ended up leaving the ER knowing my dog had a fever, he was giving fluids (He was dehydrated) they ran a sugar test on him and I was giving liquid antibiotics since my dog wasn't taking the pill form. The doctor didn't even offer to give my dog the liquid antobiotic, it was the tech who did and this cost me $202. I went to my Vet the next morning and right away my Vet knew what the problem was. Turns out my dog had a fever, was dehydrated, and all these symptoms were from him not eating, drinking, or taking his medications. My vet gave my dog fluids, gave him a shot of pain medication and antobiotics to get into his system quickly. When I asked my Vet about blood work he stated it wasn't necessary at the moment let's get this fever down and get him on his meds. Within hours of my Vet taking care of him my dog was improving. At the moment I am disappointed with this ER. I know some things are protocol but how could a Dr not offer pain medication, antibiotics when doses were missed? Why wasn't any offering to get my dog's fever down giving? The only reason why im giving this place 3 stars is because the staff and DR were nice, the place was clean, parking is available and it's open after hours. As far as price, the little service and help I received, the information I received, and the wait time I would rate it 2.
One of my family members had to take their dog last night for emergency services. Unfortunately the dog had to be put to sleep due to the complicated medical issues. My family member did not have his credit card on him and paid the cash he had with him. This morning, less than 8 hours after having to make such a difficult decision, the vet was calling about payment, insinuating that cremation and return of ashes may not happen if payment did not occur soon. I understand that businesses need to be paid, but this was inhumane and unprofessional. A loss of a pet is like the death of a family member, show some respect.
Oh how I wish i read the reviews before going there. Was charged for a wound cleaning and bandage almost 200.00 and a slap in the face when they told me to follow up with my pet's regular vet because they couldn't do anything else if I wouldn't do xrays and blood work... They are overpriced, the bandage alone was almost 40 dollars! Sad that nowadays Vets care only about the money.
To the all the workers at Premier veterinary Group , I do not know where to begin, I have been waiting to write this for weeks until my heart was able to talk about this experience. We want to let you know how much we appreciate you. We have lost one of our family members CoCo Barraza June 19 2018, he did not give up easy he fought for about 4 days to stay alive. We went in there not being financially stable to pay for Cocos bills but you tried to save him anyways, I cannot thank you enough for never giving up on his life. The vets here CARE . The receptionist CARES. they will not try to take your money and lie to you, they are the definition of what a veterinarian SHOULD BE. My family appreciates you all at Premier Veterinary Group, we thank you for giving my little sister and I the most magnificent service an animal hospital could offer two young sister trying to save their best friend. They were compassionate and understanding to our situation, my sister and I went and called vets all over the Chicago area for help but they said Coco will pass away no matter what and that s that. But PREMIER and everyone there DID NOT TURN US AWAY, they NEVER GAVE UP. Please bring your pet to Veterinarians who care about animals and don t just see their jobs as income, these people are passionate about what they do and I will never know how to repay their honesty and outstanding integrity. Although Coco was very sick I know that you did everything you could to save him, it was just his time to go and I know he would appreciate you all never giving up on him all as well.
Had to take my senior kitty here a couple of times this week. Staff was caring, thoughtful and knowledgeable. They answered all of my questions, explained the estimate in detail and took excellent care of my old gal. The first time I was here I had to wait for awhile but that s because my kitty wasn t in dire shape and I agree that more urgent cases should be seen first. Other times I ve been here she was seen very fast compared to other ER vets I ve been to. Although the costs are expensive because it s an ER vet, they are comparable to what I ve paid at other ER vets. I would come back here in a heart beat. Just hope I don t have to & kitty stays in good health. :)
I wish I had read the reviews before I brought my cat to this facility. I kept telling the staff and veterinarians that my cat had a history of UTIs and has had problems with crystals in his urine, but they blew me off and instead of giving him antibiotics, they gave him pain meds and urethral relaxant. Long story short, his condition got worse and when I brought him back the next day, they freaked out on me and tried to upsell a bunch of procedures and tests that he wouldn't have needed if they had just listened to me to begin with. I finally took him to a different vet. They seem to care more about money than the animals.
July 20,2020 The vet and staff saved my Luci s Life!! I could never thank these beautiful people enough. I got home from work and my girl was very sick, she had bladder surgery with her regular vet in Merrillville Indiana , she had gotten her heat cycle so I thought and hadn t in years. They knew exactly what was wrong when I called . They took her right in, put her on IV and antibiotics. She had pyometra . Thank you guys so much!!!
I know going to an ER for your pet is always a gamble, but I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience! I am truly so appreciative of the people who work at Premier. I came in because one of my cats started vomiting non-stop in the morning & was wailing in pain like I ve never experienced. When I got there I told this to one of the folks at the front desk & within a minute someone came out to take my dude in to get him checked out. Thankfully it ended up being painful constipation (naturally), but what I really appreciated was the thoroughness of the doctor tending to my cat in terms of spelling our current issues, potential root causes by the book, but what I really should, or shouldn t, be worried about. They were super transparent about cost & broke it down into each treatment or diagnostic test. I just really had such a positive experience (and as a super silver lining discovered a cute local cafe right around the block, Cafe Fenix, but I digress). I have two bro cats who are both FIV+ & the way they treated my guy meant so much & at the end of the day it also didn t cost an arm & a leg considering (just an arm as it s standard in the industry). 100% recommend Premier if your loved one is unfortunately in need.
I was nervous reading some reviews but I just had the most positive experience I ve had with a vet in my 12 yr-old cat s life so far. She s been sick for almost 2 years with mystery diarrhea & some vomiting & more and more weight loss with increased appetite. I ve had some very bad vet experiences, & they always want to blame you for their shortcomings & mistakes & can be really cold-hearted. The doctors & nurses/techs at this clinic are all REALLY amazing & kind! Intelligent, calm, professional, they took everything seriously, they dealt with me being somewhat panicky & nervous with kindness, they were amazing with my very anxious sick cat. No sedation, no MUZZLE, they were gentle. I finally got the tests & questions answered I ve been struggling to get since the middle of 2018. I used to manage a medical office and do still work in the field. I demand professionalism. They were so professional, no emotional manipulation, no one was passive aggressive, rude, or condescending which has plagued me in Chicago vet offices for years. The clinic was clean & they were efficient. My only negative would be that their waiting room had older cushions on the seats and they are worn, need to be replaced very soon! Other than that, I was perfectly at ease and I m a germaphobe with (managed) anxiety issues who works in medicine with people and animals, so I have very high standards and expectations. Definitely would recommend Dr Simpson and her staff! I finally have answers and a real treatment plan. They didn t up sell me on anything, they just told me what my options were. They never judged me. They never mislead me.
COST: So I ve had these tests quoted to me by 4 different vets in town....including a part MedVet quote. These prices were average, typical, and not inflated. I was VERY relieved and not surprised. Vet care is medical care, it s not cheap! The front office told me about Care Credit before my visit and I applied and got enough to pay for the visit and do a follow-up soon and cover all meds, and possibly a dental exam soon. Not one of the other vets I saw ever mentioned Care Credit to me. Lifesaver! I had an appointment here, I did not come as an emergency patient.* I cannot speak to what their emergency services are like.* Maybe try to have your vet refer you for an appointment and ask to be squeezed in ASAP instead of just going in IF YOU CAN. There are different levels of crisis . Mine wasn t rush to hospital to save life , so I was able to wait several days for an appointment, (but it was urgent) which they made right away and squeezed me into a very busy day. So these are my cat s new sheroes!
I can't say enough about how great my experience at Premier was. I brought my dog in in the middle of the night and he ended up needing emergency surgery for bloat. It was so so scary but every nurse and doctor I spoke to was incredibly empathetic and had the best bedside manner. You don't always get that in an emergency scenario but that's the time you really need it and they were so great. Dr. Hubaker and many others took great care of my dog and I'm so grateful. Even during covid times, they were able to take great care of my dog and keep me informed.
My husky was bleeding heavily and I thought she was having a miscarriage. The doctor was able to evaluate and complete an ultrasound. I was charged just for the two services. My dog required emergency surgery, but there was no surgical team on site due to the weekend hours. The doctor made several calls) to help me out on locations that would complete the surgery asap with a reasonable price. I was referred to Logan Square Milwaukee 2543 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647. My husky got safe. I was so devastated but this Premier helped me out.
My dog has a propensity of eating things he shouldn't. Premier has stepped in and saved his life twice now. They don't run unesscary tests, they have to run tests on your pet to explore all options of what may be wrong. Keep in mind it is costly but, every emergency vet is. They cant treat every pet for free (unfortunately) if they did they would be closed.
Oscar and his mom thank you for fixing a botched Christmas tree tensile removal on our first visit. Now we thank you again for removing the skewer stick from his stomach. Premier vet was there when we needed them.
To anyone who has a pet please don't take them here , I brought my dog here on 8/31 because she was attacked by a bigger dog but she was trying to still stay alive and because I didn't have the money the vet asked for , the second option was to put her down which was the hardest thing I had to do because I had no car and that was the closest animal hospital I can go to , I thought vets where suppose to be there to save animals life but sadly here they're not they didn't even try to save her life they wanted me to pay first in order to save my dog's life and that broke my heart even more. You guys are so usless.
