Price was good, environment good, however, too far from the city center, $20 for each taxi ride. AC/ heater not working well at night.

A great place to stay the pigeons are annoying though around rooms 326 and 324 The customer service is amazing very helpful and accomadating.

Really beautiful hotel, great location, outstanding service! We had a king room with balcony on the front side and the room was really nice, big, bed was comfortable. Would be happy to give it 5 stars but.... So here are the buts. We had 3 pillows each, but all of them were huge and hard so couldn't sleep first night, in the morning asked for softer one and they were given us straight away, and the rest of our stay had nothing to complain about. When I first took a shower there was a love heart on the door drawn by someone who stayed there before so apparently it wasn't cleaned properly, also there was a long red hair on one of the robes. All the meals we had in the restraunt were really good, apart from salmon - they overcooked it and also charged us too much for that dinner which I only noticed after came back home and saw the receipt. Breakfasts were very basic and very boring. Pouched eggs were watery, there were no hams or salami or cheese so to eat every single day the same eggs is a bit not what I am used to. Tried pancakes, they were terrible! So apart from those little things our stay was wonderful and will definitely be back!

Went for the sumptuous afternoon tea! It was marvellous!

Great location, near the lake and easy driving access to Parliament area. Not many restaurants nearby but hotel food is excellent.

Lovely staff and the hotel is amazing the rooms are big and clean been there several time and always great experience and lovely staff and clean room is what I always look and it s always clean the best king bed and the most comfortable bed and pillows always love to stay in this hotel

Dating from the 1920s, this upscale hotel is a 7-minute walk from Canberra Nara Park and 1 km from Parliament House.

Posh rooms feature free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and sitting areas, as well as minibars, marble bathrooms, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Upgraded rooms include espresso machines; some have balconies, and/or access to a private lounge with continental breakfast and snacks. Suites provide separate sitting areas and/or kitchenettes. Room service is available.

Parking is complimentary. Other amenities include a bar, a cafe, and afternoon tea (limited). There s also a fitness centre, an indoor pool, a tennis court and a spa.

Very nicely presented hotel with friendly staff in a lovely location. Ambassador club access is worth it for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks and canapes as well as all day tea, coffee and soft drinks.

Unfortunately we couldn't stay for dinner but a beautiful building with an incredible history and design!

Probably the best in Canberra. Nice sized rooms, well appointed. If you need to go to Canberra, then you may as well do it in luxury. Put a bit of effort in and dress up.

Unlike many modern accommodation facilities the Hyatt has history and class that has hardly changed in decades

A fairly amazing building with some history and good staff. I think I deserved a little more given the Park Hyatt labelling for the building. There was a time when this was the only place to stay in Canberra; but there are many other options now.

Huge shower area with generous bathtub. Lots of light in the room means working is practical. Very friendly staff. Bigger room than similar properties in Canberra CBD. Definitely business friendly. The fireplace bar is a nice place to unwind at the end of the day.

The one and only 5 star boutique hotel in Canberra.

Love it here, great all year round! Good in winter with the open fire and summer in the outdoor gardens!

A good hotel located near Parliament House. A long-time favourite, the rooms are comfortable but old. Service was generally poor except for the ever-vigilant and friendly concierge team.

The Hyatt Hotel has amazing staff who work hard to keep their guests happy. They are friendly and helpful, which is amazing. The rooms are immaculate and it's located near parliament house so it's easy to get back to if you're not sure of your navigational skills. I would recommend it to anyone who is traveling to Canberra.

Brilliant venue for the Annual Tyrepower Conference. Magnificent building and a gorgeous setting.

Went for a lunch event in the lounge area. Was exceptional service and food. Deserts very good and they always make coffee hodvi like it (clean black taste, none of that hipster fruity blend stuff).

Attended a professional function, I've had better coffee, but other than that, the service and food was great.

Hotel with significant history tied to it. Beautiful interior. You can give the food a miss. Better variety food and value for money @local restaurants.

Staff are so friendly and the establishment is always clean. We go to have dinner and whether you are having A la Carte or the buffet, the food and service never disappoint.

An exceptional and regal place to stay while on Canberra.

We had a lovely stay. The service was outstanding, from the reception to the breakfast team. We especially appreciated Stewart and Ranjana that really stood out with their warm hospitality!

Was there for a coffee, which was lovely, wonderful staff and service just really expensive for a latte, $6 was a bit much.

Staff are always amazing. Top notch establishment all around.

Large bathrooms and rooms. Comfortable beds. Service on arrival was great. The hotel does shows its age. That room / bathrooms do have a smell (musty) that is inline with older hotels. Room service food was great, but they did mix up the order (ordered a bottle of wine, received a glass). Will see what else is available in Canberra before booking the Hyatt again.

I love this hotel - we ve stayed here a few times now and every time is better than the last. It feels like an old fashioned hotel with a 1940s charm about it. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Definitely different to the other hotels in Canberra. There s a buzz about this place. Every time we ve been here there s an elegant group of internationals dressed in bow ties poncing off to some swanky event, the piano being played for the high tea, the tea area is in fact just stunning so beautiful to catch some afternoon sun after a busy day.

We love it here that s why we keep coming back.

I ve stayed at other great hotels here which I. Comparison are alittle more sleek and modern. Such as the The Realm, this is the total opposite to that it s more traditional.

This time we stayed on level 3 and got a room which had doors that opened up overlooking the pool house. Clean, well equipped with great ammenities such as;
- good bathroom mirror for makeup
- magnifying mirror included or I think they call it a shaving mirror.
- full length mirror for dressing
- espresso coffee machine
- free internet
- swiveling tv
- comfy bed

Oh and we tried the seafood buffet - standard price of $79 per person which I know is steep!
But - it s definitely better than any other buffet I ve tried notable the Sheraton on The Park in Sydney which is absolutely disgusting!

The Hyatt Canberra is the best hotel in Canberra, and probably the best Hyatt in Australia

Ordered in room dining service. Ordered two pastas but came three. Called the room service operator she insisted I ordered three and no any other solutions can be made. Very disappointed with the communication service in 5 star brand hotel and apparently the pepper shaker is only for decoration.

Booked ahead for my partners birthday. Never having eaten here, we had heard many fantastic things and were very much looking forward to the dinner.
There were no staff at reception, took 15 minutes to find the restaurant which turned out to be just down the corridor. But as there were no signs and no staff to direct us, we nearly missed our 7pm booking after arriving nearly 20 minutes early.
When we got to the restaurant, staff were having an argument with a patron about seating arrangements. Apparently they were very displeased with where they had been seated. Once we got to the front of the queue, we were lead to our table which was in the exact direction of all the commotion and screaming.
Trying to keep my spirits up, as it was my partners birthday and we VERY rarely spent $50 on dinner, let alone the $300 we spent this night, i tried to stay happy and suggested we went and got some food.
The first thing that happened when i picked up my dinner plate, was get mash potato all over my hands as the plate had not been cleaned properly with food still all over the bottom of it. With no staff in sight to advise what to do, all i could do was put the potato covered plate onto a nearby empty table and go clean myself up in the wash room.

The night improved from here, but the service I had received up to this point was actually non existent. It was like there just weren't staff or they had better things to do.
I eventually was able to make eye contact with a waitress i saw. She spoke with such a heavy accent we couldn't under stand each other, so i pointed to the bottle of wine i wanted on the list, and she brought me one out that was similar but not the same as the one i wanted.. i just stuck with it even though it was $70, i really needed a drink by this point.

I would like to say the food was fantastic and lifted our spirits. I would really really like to return again as the food was really exceptional, and it looked as though it was normally a good venue. However I couldn't justify spending another $300 here again if they don't include at least basic services like having a concierge to direct you to the restaurant, clean plates and staff not arguing with patrons.

I like to think perhaps this was a one off bad night for them, as the service was just terrible to say the least.
I wouldn't recommend this place to visiting family and friends unless I knew it had lifted its game on the service it provides.

1 year down the track, The Hyatt still leaves a bad taste in my mouth when i think about that night. Downgrading my review to 1 star. I can no longer remember anything good about this night, only disappointment.

They called me back a few months ago asking to come in and give another shot. But that was it, no compensation offered, just said to come back and try again. What made it worst wss the manager said to call first, "please call before you come in and I will guarantee good service", good service should just happen in a restaurant, I shouldn't have to give a heads up. Such a joke.

Nice heritage hotel. Customer service and facilities is excellent.

Overall pleasant experience. Stayed at a disabled room on ground floor. Rooms were clean. Convenient parking at the back. Pool and gym facilities located outside of the main hotel building which would be inconvenient to get to if it was raining. Didn't have much interactions with staff, but can't complain about service. Beautiful dining settings near the lobby.

We went to the high tea on Sunday for a friend's baby shower. The venue is beautiful. The staff are so attentive and the high tea buffet is lovely. We had a lovely day.

Beautiful hotel, with several public areas and bars for meet ups and gatherings, even for non guests.

Beautifully presented hotel and rooms...awesome cafe for coffee and breakfast...loved the spaciousness of the hotel room....great hotel service! We definitely stay again.

An outstanding blend of federation design with modern day requirements. This is a white glove service hotel who strive to make you feel every bit the guest and not just an in and out customer. While it is on the pricier side for food and beverage, this is standard for this range of hotel. The rooms are large and superb, the staff so pleasant and welcoming with plenty of facilities to be enjoyed.

The grand old dame of Canberra hotels. Stay in a heritage room (old wing) for the classic experience. Decent high tea too.

Great location, great service. Good place to host a function or have a classy lunch with your family
