Went for high tea. It was excellent but a little pricey. Location is old style but in a good way.

You can feel the history oozing from the walls and floors of this spectacularly renovated, opulent, hotel brought back to it's original state. Everything feels 5 star. The food is to die for. SPECIAL THANKS TO SIRAJ who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was one we would never forget. Close to everything in Canberra's Capitol Hill area. WOW!!!
Always excellent service. Lovely decor. Good food. Fantastic selection of teas.
Hyatt hotel has the best customer service out of any hotel in Canberra that I have stayed at (I have stayed in almost all major hotels) They have complimentary porter's to take your luggage to your room, the room standard is very high and very clean. The only let down is no undercover parking but you can't have everything I guess.
Well done guys I will choose to stay here again
Lovely setting, peaceful in the gardens. Good food.
Professional, high level of service, support and accommodation
A 5 star property which is on the move and constantly evolving its food and beverage offering. My favourite Canberra place.
Has a US country club feel, sprawling complex with no continuous level
I love the beautiful rooms and the grandeur of the whole hotel. I especially love the buffet high tea and a glass of wine in front of the fireplace in the Sportsman s Bar.
We had a hens high tea for 4 people and quite disappointed with the service and foods for specific dietary requirements.
We online booked and rang to confirm these. Had to ask staff 3 times for dietary foods.
Thankfully we only paid for 3 instead of 4.
Was just appalled.
Great Place, nothing against it...
Nice place to stay and eat....
Menzies Suite. Absolutely amazing. Bigger than a small house!
Went for high tea. Beautiful and elegant. A real sense of history.
Great rooms, classy accommodation ... Would highly recommend
Great place for pre Parliament House drinks. Small bar area but pleanty of space to spread out.
Beautiful place, the room service left a lot to be desired
Shocking, pathetic service. Attended the hotel last week to purchase a Gift Card and was told the front desk was too busy to serve me and I would have to come back tomorrow. One other customer was there at the time. I asked if the Desk Clerk could check again with the Duty Manager. He did and it was repeated, 'We are too busy. Please leave your details and come back after lunch tomorrow.' Stupidly, I left my details and returned the next day at 2.00pm only to be told nothing had been prepared for me but 'it will only take 5 minutes' to get you a voucher now. I have sent two emails to the General Manager, Mr Fredrick Arul, and he has not bothered to even acknowledge either communication let alone answer questions I asked about the pathetic treatment I received. I retrieved my details, said I had no desire to do business with the Hyatt and, today, went to the Hotel Realm where I was attended to immediately by the delightful Nicky who prepared my voucher immediately, offered me a coffee whilst I waited and even gift wrapped the voucher for me. If you want hotel service in Canberra, go to the Realm and forget the Hyatt.
A very elegant 5 star hotel, fascinating architecture, a Def visit even if not staying there. Staff is super helpful and always glad to help out. Very close to everything also, a really nice place overall. Has easy valet parking overnight at 35 dollars. Very kid friendly also. Will definately recommend if asked where to stay in Canberra.
Good venue to have that special group function. A little pricey, but worthwhile when you want an elegant experience.
Nice breakfast and service. Not the best coffee so it needs to be worked on.
As a travelling IT Consultant in Canberra, Australia, I stayed on this hotel on the latter part of the 2016 and earlier part of 2017. The bedroom and bath are very large and I love the king size bed. I love the views from the bedroom and a great deal of animals - mostly birds. I love the breakfast buffet cause you have a great selection and it is a great deal. The facilities are excellent, they have a gym, you can borrow a bike and just have fun around the great place and water views. You even walk or bike and get to some of the other great restaurants around the area. This is one of the hotels in Canberra, Australia I promised my wife and family that we could visit again in the future when we get the chance.
Absolutely beautiful, the concierge ,little man in his great outfit was THE HIGHLIGHT well mannered ,sense of humour .Food was sensational great bathroom room was ok
Large comfortable rooms, stones throw from Parliament house. High tea, great breakfast and dinner menus
The Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with its mixture of old and new features and friendly, helpful staff. The bars and restaurants are comfortable and cozy and service is as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. All the meals we had were excellent. Highly recommended
Went for a function room was big and plenty of room but there was no reception for mobile phones
Excellent food & service, plentiful dishes available.
The quality of this place has fallen off a cliff. The best part lf our meal was the bread. The chicken dish must have been cut with a hammer, it was full of bones.
Service for such a high end hotel was not good. Staff interrupted our conversation poorly and seemed hesitant and inexperienced. Not what I would expect from the Hyatt. Lovely building
It a wonderful hotel. Clean rooms and great service.
I tried to conserve water like they recommended but it over 5 mins for the shower to run hot water
Our room was huge and well cared for. The pool (which is over a quiet cul-de-sac, in the "club house") is immaculate, has a roped of lane for laps, a hot tub and a sauna. The bar is full of comfortable chairs and lounges, and the wasabi peas in the bar snacks will take your head off. Great staff, too.
Went for the High Tea, it was very pleasant and calm.
The atmosphere is delightful and the meals superb. I thoroughly recommend
Faulty Towers springs to mind; the staff are lovely but the hotel is tired. We had to move rooms twice (3 rooms in total) as the rooms which are good in size and clean are very noisy. Earplugs necessary. The air conditioning sounds like you re on an aeroplane and you can hear your neighbours showers and toilets flushing etc as well as foot steps of the rooms above. The hotel agreed that they have had complaints about this before. Moving to our 3rd room the Manager (Darren) wanted to charge us for the upgrade. On moving to the new room the air conditioner was stuck on 17 degrees which in winter was freezing. This was fixed after 1.5 hours and no mention of charging was brought up again. All in all and underwhelming stay.
Had a nice event here. Ballroom is excellent for official ceremony
Out looking isn't traditional. Rather royal appearance.
