I have been in this wonderful place for a week and I have nothing but good words for each and every employee. Excellent since you arrive and you attend the trunk until the last one you see before leaving. I will definitely repeat.

Top-notch resort with entertainment for guests, great food and top-quality drinks. In addition to numerous pools and a paradise beach.

We were already in this hotel in 2016 and would book it again at any time!
The hotel has around 450 rooms, spread over 3 buildings and 3 floors, with a lift. In the entire area and even on the beach the WiFi works (sometimes better, sometimes worse, but ok).
All sockets in the room are suitable for European plugs - no adapter is necessary. TV with 1 German channel. Balcony with whirlpool bath.
Both the rooms and the entrance hall were very comfortably furnished. It is not necessary to wear an annoying all-inclusive ribbon here. There are also no towel cards and you can have as many beach towels as you want. However, you are asked to take care of the environment and only use 1 towel per person / per day on the beach.
Since the hotel is already very geared towards Americans and they only stay on average for 1 week, the evening shows repeat themselves after 7 days. A 14-day program would be nicer.
The Preffered Club is currently being renovated, and the rooms will all have their own small pool. We didn't even notice the construction site. Our room was on the opposite side and on the beach you could hear something softly, but that didn't bother us.
Environmental protection has now also made its way: All straws are made of paper, but the drinks at the barefood bar are offered in paper cups and the cutlery made of disposable plastic. Why washable dishes are not used here too is a mystery to me.

There were enough beach chairs at the pool and on the beach. However, sun loungers were reserved in the morning, although this was only allowed at the pool from 8 a.m. and was still partly made beforehand. Nevertheless, you could still find free loungers at all times - even if perhaps not necessarily at the "desired place" anymore, as the loungers under the umbrellas were occupied very quickly. But there was still a place under the palm trees. Many loungers on the beach are filled with towels, but no one lies on them for hours. Tip: If there are only towels from the beach without anything private on the lounger, the towels can be removed and the loungers can be used. Some guests walk away from the beach and just leave their towels lying around (although there were containers to put towels in). The staff wasn't always quick enough to clear away the towels and we saw guests who left the beach because apparently all the loungers were occupied, although the beach was only half full - a shame!
The seaweed is picked up several times a day with a tractor. This is not very quiet and smells, but the seaweed would also be annoying - so it is good that it is cleared away.
By the way, beach shoes are not necessary - the powdered sugar sandy beach (with a few stones) extends far into the sea.

The pool meanders like a river through the entire complex. Everywhere there are opportunities to rest, to linger or to find a quiet place. The animation pool with the "swim-up bar" is separated from it, which we found very pleasant. The pool is cleaned DAILY in the morning, which we saw several times. Even after the weekly foam party, the next day nothing of the contamination (e.g. balloon remains) can be seen.
Although there is a bar right on the beach, there is also staff there who provide guests with drinks right up to the lounger.

The animation tried to "pull you away", but if you waved it off, they left you alone and weren't intrusive. By the way, you get play money for participating in the animation program. This can be collected and used for auctions, which take place 3 times a week, where you can bid for rum, hats and T-shirts.

We had our first all inclusive trip recently. We were pampered from the time we got to Secrets Royal Beach to the time we left. They went above and beyond and were all so cheerful. We had the best Butler! He was great at making arrangements for us for dinner and anything in between. Even thing we didn't think of he took care of. Thank you Roberto! There daily activities on the beach and in the pool. Food was good and there was a good variety to choose from. My favorite is the staff. I felt like family by the time we left. I would go back to Secrets Royal Beach again!

Worst hotel in the Caribbean. Staff steals and begs. And the staff does not speak English you just will not get it

This was our second vaca at Secrets Rotal Beach. Great service, food & lazy river!

Beautiful setting and gardens very friendly and help full staff all inclusive house wine poor and some of the al a carte restaurant food poor but entertainment excellent beds very comfortable .

My husband and I visited Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana for our honeymoon early this month. Overall we enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We drank, we ate and we met lots of great people. We spent many hours floating along in the pool, playing volleyball and drinking all day! The drinks are Good, but not very strong at the pool bars which is probably a good thing honestly. We went on a couple excursions which I recommend booking inside the hotel lobby. Both excursions we went on were spectacular and we felt well guided! Tips are said to be included, but there is certainly an expectation to do so and much better service to those that do. Bring LOTS of small bills! My biggest disappointment was the constant up selling and the relentless push to do the timeshare sales presentation which is not very straightforward or honest in their intentions. Once we got through that we were really able to relax. The best food is on the Now Larimar side! We would return again.

This place will hold a special place in our memories. This was our Honeymoon location. We choose the biggest room available that faced the ocean. It was amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I have been to several resorts in DR and thus far this is my favorite. The food, the activities everything and every day was just perfect and a little piece of paradise.

Arrived June 30, 2018 at 1:27pm with a expected check in at 3:00.
Packed swimsuits in carry on as I knew we would have some time before room was ready. Went to lunch and returned to use the hospitality room to change, (was insulted with a inappropriate comment and a pat to my belly about "looks like I enjoyed my lunch") was told room would be ready at 3:45. Between lunch and swimming front desk staff tried to talk me into scheduling a breakfast with them the following morning and I made it clear that I was here to relax and nothing else. I had another inappropriate comment about not being married and I let the comments go as I understand cultures are different. I have only been to approximately a dozen resorts including Secrets, Sandals and many others and realize there are positives and negatives any and every place you travel. The more you travel the more comparisons you have. I have never written a review of any of the places I have stayed and usually the positives outweigh the negatives. In this case I felt compelled to post a review for a trip that did not meet my expectations.
Returned to the front desk at 4:05 and room was still not ready and another attempt at talking me into the breakfast presentation.
I literally sat in the lobby looking for available rooms at nearby resorts while other people were arriving and being taken to their rooms.
Around 4:30 the front desk informed me that the delay was due to me requesting a king size bed and I let them know and showed them my paperwork that shows the room was to have two queen size beds and I had not requested a king at any time and was okay with the two queens.
I am the most easy going flexible person you could meet and sat quietly and never even raised my voice as I do not do that but this was very frustrating after having been up and traveling many hours.
Finally was taken to a room at 4:35pm, first room closest to lobby and it was nice but proved to be a long walk to anywhere on the property.
Fell asleep on the bed shortly thereafter without unpacking, was awoken twice by housekeeping and told them we were fine and did not need anything. (Did not think to put the do not disturb sign out). Woke up at 6am Sunday morning with the lights off, TV had been turned off and a few things moved around. Laughed that off as nothing was missing and we had not even unpacked. Wallets, passports were all laying out.
Went to the beach and extremely disappointed due to the seaweed, Secrets attempts to keep the beach clean with a tractor/rake but water is full of seaweed and the smell of rotting seaweed (sewer smell) comes and goes. Mother Nature has dealt Punta Cana a blow with the seaweed and shame on me for not researching it as it appears it has been an issue for some time. The wind shifted on Tuesday and was able to see some clear water and get in the ocean 1 day but the other days the water was murky and full of seaweed. Not Secrets fault on this one and they do the best job as I walked a mile in both directions on the beach and the seaweed and trash is far worse on each side beyond Now Larimar and adjoining resort. With the seaweed I would think Secrets would do a better job of keeping the resort and customer service in better shape. Nice pool although I question the chlorination as there are sections throughout the pools that have a black growth on the grout in multiple places. It can be removed with a finger nail so that tells me the guy walking around with a brush is not scrubbing hard enough and only doing the water line. Chlorine floating on top of the water in the evening and a couple people complaining of a itching rash from pool water. Vendors on beach that are not allowed in chair area approach you every time you walk out to the surf and up and down the beach. Another set of vendors are allowed in chair area and although they are trying to make a living it was discomforting having people pass through every few minutes. Watched one from the "Party Cave" pick up a guest drink from their table while they were away and drink it, fortunately he sat it down somewhere else.

Secrets Cap Cana Punta Cana. Beautiful resort, nice staff, a little on the slow side. The only really bad thing were their drinks had zero alcohol. We asked the bar tender and he told us we could buy a bottle in the lobby, which we did. Penny wise dollar poor.

Hotel staff friendly but sometimes it's to much. Food just ok nothing about any of the food was great. My hotel Breathless was overbooked so this was suppose to be an upgrade but NO! The buffet at golden corral is better. Food never hot just warm. Last night was the worst ever my husband ordered pasta with lobster the lobster was burnt and ramen noodles has more flavor! There's a language barrier but that was expected. I have a voucher to come back to DR not sure if we will use since the hotels are affiliated not sure if I can take another 8 days of bad food.

Spent 7 days in the sun there from Jan 12th to 19th...Great service, food, views and memories...We are members of UVC and took advantage of the preferred section. We likely will be back. Got a Bali bed for 2 days and a Cabana with roof deck for another day , just using the beach or pool chairs was nice as well. It was our 28th anniversary and we enjoyed every minute of it.
Room was pool view in preferred side on 2nd floor and it was nice.
Concierge, butler, wait staff and other staff all did well.

What can I say about secret royal Beach in most exceptional holiday anybody could ever want to go to there is nothing you need here just yourself and obviously clothes the staff and people here do You're everything they are so friendly and always willing to help the people that go on holiday to this place are also friendly there is a phone party in the pool which is absolutely terrific and cannot be missed it was so much fun they are also parties on the beach and some really really find restaurants to eating during the day just relax around the pool or do your thing on the beach you need a drink it's there when you want it just ask this is a must visit and I repeat a must visit I can't wait to return again shortly from this hotel you can book excursions and one of the best excursions that I've ever been on those to swim with the dolphins two dolphins taking me around a pool whilst I was holding onto the door for things and then after that coming around and lifting me out of the water so exhilarating this is a must visit there are so many other things to do you will never get bored here I must say a big thank you to secrets royal Beach for making stay so welcome how room look directly over the lazy river swimming pool this goes around half of the complex in the middle where you can just relax by walking around or laying on a floating bed that takes you great design there is so much more I can say about this place but to believe it you have to be there yourself well worth it

Very nice place to relax. clean and good suites, better food, best service.

Employees at the location seem to hover over you for tips. When asked for directions, one of the employees ask for money for directions on the property. Also when we first arrived there were a lot of vendors harassing you to buy items.

The hotel is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in. Because it is not built that high, it looks small and cute ... directly integrated into the forest;) very nice parks, super nice white and very well-kept beach. You are provided with everything everywhere, room service around the clock. A great advantage, especially when you arrive.
The hotel's own restaurants are very tasty and vary weekly. There are also events such as wine tastings.
I've actually never recovered as quickly as here!

Dear tourists,be careful!The theft can happen in this hotel.My friend and me arrived to this hotel in the evening,we tried to use the safe but it did not work.We informed the receptionist about this,they asked us to wait for smb.to come and fix the problem.We had to wait 40 minutes,but nobody came.We left the bags and went out to look around at the resort.Only in a day we realized that 100 dollars disappeared from one wallet,which was in a bag.Now when we are back home,after calculation of our expenses we realize that 200 dollars and 50 euro were stolen from the bag.What is interesting that another currency was not taken,only dollars and euro.It is very sad to write such things about this hotel.The hotel is really nice,the staff is good,the garden and the beach are amazing.You will not feel bored being there for sure.I m from Europe and found it great to be surrounded by cheerful people from the USA and Canada.We have been to many resorts in different parts of the world but that s is the first time we faced such unpleasant situation like theft in a hotel room.It was too late we have found out this problem and our safe was fixed only at the last day of our staying there.At our check out nobody told us even sorry about this situation,like nothing happened.Dear tourists,please do not be naive like I am and do not follow my mistakes.;)Enjoy your vacation!

We had a fantastic time there! We upgraded to the preferred area, a great choice. Marcelo our butler was fantastic. He took care of our every need. The resort was wonderful. Surpassed all of our expectations.

Fantastic beaches. Friendly fantastic service. Food was good but not always great. You need to tell them how you like it cooked. Mostly communication issues but the sweetest staff.

Atmosphere was fun. The staff was very welcoming with drinks and other questions about the facility. Anything you needed whatever time of day the staff was more than accommodating to your needs. Rooms are very clean. If you go to this Secrets you won't regret the your decision.

Resort was very clean but outdated. Employees were very kind and gracious. Food was ok, not great. Only house wine was inclusive and it was poor.

Good hotel, nice beach, good treatment from the staff but you never have any health problem because that's where the problem starts. The professional of the hotel (professional ????) in my country would be a first-year practitioner is simply a derivative to the clinic of your employers where for a primary care you are billed even for sneezing. The "clinic" is called HOSPITEL and I give you the information to consult on the other hand.
A pity beautiful country but always appears some mole that discredits it.

Got hurt on the first full day of my vacation. Sharp doorstop almost too my entire big toe off. Lost half of my toenail and am pretty sure I broke my toe. The resort offered us a lobster dinner as an apology. Two days later my toe is doing worse and looks infected and they refuse to cover the on-site doctor and say well we gave you a lobster dinner so....

Worst experience I ve ever had at any resort. This ruined my entire vacation and the management here clearly doesn t care about the wellbeing of the customers spending their hard earned money here.

Amazing hotel woth fantastic service. Very clean and well kept. The staff will go to any length to provide good service. Came for a wedding and the only bad time was the a la carte resturaunt. They got slammed all at once when our group of 20 came in. Grooms table didnt order food for 42 minutes which was frustrating. I guess when you have 1 waiter for 20 people that would be expected...

Excellent hotel very clean, and the staff very friendly and attentive.

We loved the Dominican Republic. Had a great time and really enjoyed the beaches.

Housekeeping was inconsistent from day to day. The food at the French and Mexican restaurants was not good and the female servicer at the Italian restaurant was terrible. She spent the entire time we were there flirting at one table. We finally got the attention of another server to take our order. Another couple waited over an hour for their food and when it finally came out, it was entirely the wrong order.
We were there 3 years ago and those 3 restaurants were our favorites! Don't understand what happened!
The food in the preferred club was the same every day and night, no variety. The preferred bar never had martini glasses! One night we were served a martini in a paper cup! That was very disappointing because we have stayed in several other Secrets and always has wonderful experiences!

Seven days in heaven! It was the perfect honeymoon destination. It surpassed our expectations, and we couldn't have been happier! We booked our honeymoon with Apple Vacations. We wanted a place neither of us had ever been. He wanted a vacation of pure relaxation while I wanted at least one adventure day and one spa day. We ended having 2 amazing "adventure days" and 2 perfect spa and total relaxation days. I highly reccomned booking the ZipLine and Hoya Azul excursion, and the Outback Adventures excursion! We booked a couples massage and did the fish on your feet thing. Ha! Had to try it! Bring plenty of singles for drink tipping. Yes, its all inclusive but they all go above and beyond to make everyone feel special, so go ahead and tip them for that yummy frozen drink they just handed you in your beach chair. They even have a entertainment crew doing fun things throughout the day and night. The synchronized pool swimmers was a fun bonus! The workers seem to enjoy adding to the fun, even getting a game of beach volleyball with strangers from several diff counties was a blast! Try all the resturants you can, remember to pack a couple pair of long summer pants & sleeved summer shirts.One or two restaurants have a dress code for dinner. The gift shop sells some if needed. Every resturant has hand sanitizer and bug spray for you to use if you forgot you pack some. We had one disappointing snag at the seafood restaurant. We told the front desk agent what happened, and the Secrets team went above and beyond to make up for it and made sure the reminder of our stay was magical. *Pro tip, remember the name of your fav staff person, they will ask you at check out.* Also, a HUGE thumbs up to the 24 hour room service staff! Wow, they were life savers a couple nights for us. (Coco Bungo gets you home at 4am!) They even brought me a selection of ice cream, even though it wasn't on the menu! I was thrilled!
My only suggestion to the resort, maybe have a coin laundry facility for guests to use. That sand really does get everywhere. The hotel offeres a laundry service, but it's expensive. If you stay at Secrets, plan on visiting the Now Resort on the property for a dinner, the Night Club or the Casino. Theres a little bowling alley in the Sports club (bring socks). *Pro tip #2, you can bring your own pool float thingie, if you want. Perfect for the hotel pool lazy river! Loooooved the lazy river. And yes, they will bring you a drink while floating on the lazy river! They even make sure your shuttle to and from the airport is all arranged and you know where to be and when. We we're pampered from the moment they greeted us with a glass of champagne on day one. It was the best vacation I've even been on, and we can't wait to try their other locations!

I would like to know if on the beaches of this hotel there is sargaso, the algae that has been on almost all beaches of the Caribbean. Someone who can give ingormacion?

Was touted as a quiet hotel. Exactly the opposite. Very loud American guests, foam parties by the pool. Staff friendly, but very loud. Food and theme restaurants never 5 * accordingly.
Very nice beach with very limited opportunities for swimming. Parasols rare and mostly occupied and hardly usable due to the dunes.
Room musty, spaky bathroom walls.
Overall conclusion: not recommended, not again!

Went to celebrate an anniversary and upon arrival they had a lovely Happy Anniversary sign on the door, with champagne and fruit and the following morning, a breakfast in bed room service. Beautiful big room, swim up suite with living room and huge bathroom. Nice view of the main pool to get some relaxation away from the pool bar. Clean water, nice amenities and good food at the various restaurants; very good buffet. Beach area was nice with plenty of shade, if that's what you want. Good number of chairs and tables and a beach grill. Drinks were good and bartenders fun. Had a very cool night at the "silent disco" which was hilarious.

The resort is simply stunning and their customer service is exceptional. The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home and to accommodate you in any way possible. Despite me giving the resort 4 stars (which is really for the staff hospitality and service) there are areas that need serious improvement. The food, room service, housekeeping, and the entertainment portion need to seriously be re-evaluated. The food was unflavored and simply just fair. None of the restaurants really stood out to me. The food ordered from room service was simply horrible. The food quality was poor and old/cold food was constantly delivered to us so we just stopped using the service. Housekeeping did a good job with making the room appear clean but I never really felt like the room was truly clean. The entertainment portion of the resort was a complete disaster and staff should take serious notes from Now and mimic what they do/how they get it right with the entertainment and dining. Overall this resort is nice and I found ways to enjoy it but it s definitely geared towards couples and the over 40 age group. Good thing the resort is connected to Now because that s where we ate and found entertainment.

It is in Bavarian, Punta Cana in the Altagracia province. All-inclusive resort for adults only in the hotel complex now the rhyme.

Very private, good food, but most importantly everyone there treats you like family. Can't wait to go back next year!!

Spent honeymoon there. Nice place, everyone very friendly and always prompt to help. Food is not the bestest I ve had in all inclusive but there are good options of restaurants for dinner.

Beautiful resort. Great staff, so friendly every day! Food was ok, sister resort next door was closed for remodeling so that lessened our choices of restaurants. Barefoot Grill on the beach for lunch was the best, nachos awesome and the rotisserie chicken was phenomenal, a must try. The entertainment crew was top notch, friendly and very fun to include you in the events. One of the cleanest resorts we've ever been to, always cleaning all day long. Will definitely be back to Punta Cana! Til next time!

The entertainment staff were the highlight of the trip. From games and shows to just being friendly and making jokes. would not have been the same trip without them.

Great stay, the rooms always clean. The super home. The restaurants are very professional, the waiters always smiling in a good mood, like the rest of the staff. The animation team is great. The hotel, the beach, the park are always very clean, we always see someone clean (not a reproach on the contrary). We will return without any problem

Very comfortable hotel with beautiful courtyard, well located! Everything is close to each other (beach, bar, pool, restaurant).

Absolutely wonderful vacation! Miguel was by far the best genuinely helpful person we were helped by. We loved the activities and I plan to write a more detailed review on trip advisor, but had to at least mention Miguel on Google too :) Request him if you need a butler, he's AMAZING!!!

Also, they should lose a star because parasailing is advertised but they actually don't reccomend you do it. That was pretty disappointing. But Miguel made up for it with his awesome service. Thank you!
