3rd day here. Special Anniversary and hubbys birthday. Had decorating and fuss made in the room!
Feeling fed up as in the middle of a zone bin trucks, delivery, scooters, staff phones, music blasting. Hotel alongside, kids screaming, vehicles constantly on the go!
Booked with BA, been to Secrets before but here just finding things so standoffish!
We paid to have a holiday and rest not be offered a room above with same noise levels. Not impressed with not being heard! Just called Daniela to sit with me for the experience! The proof itself!

Secrets knows how to run a resort! Great service in a beautiful setting!!

A nice hotel that is very well maintained and in a beautiful spot of the world.
Don t get caught out by the lookie lookie cheap cheap men in the main square. Hotel seem to turn a blind eye to them.
Food can get a little monotonous but who can t say they ve been to an all inclusive where that isn t the case?
Would recommend the jungle tours if in Punta Cana, but not the bus one as that looked like hell (personally)

All-inclusive resort with a great pool and a beautiful ocean beach. Many restaurants to choose from plus a nice buffet. Poolside beverage service is also provided.

Staff was excellent, only thing I would say wasn't absolutely perfect was dining optiobs, some are closed every other day and when there for less than a week hard to schedule

Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is a nice place. I did not receive the service I expected from the bar... they seemed to reach out and serve Caucasian men before a lady... maybe because I was a single traveler. This is the 3rd resort I've vacationed at, and the wait staff needs improvement. My concerns with the creeky fan, and water dropping from ceiling was quickly addressed, but I felt like their were too many people in my room. The food here is amazing... I would come back though...

The resort was very nice and clean. THE KING kept us entertained during the day with games and VERY friendly, loved him! The housekeeping was good and the food was good, very good variety at the buffet. Liked having the option to go over to the NOW. NOT impressed with having to use paper cups that said the NOW and we are at Secrets. NOT OKAY when you are paying good money for an all inclusive and have to use paper. Blenders not working at the swim up bar and beach bar. We come to beach for a frozen drink. Then to run out of top shelf liquor was not impressed. We have been to 3 secrets and this one was by far the worst for drinks. Thank heavens we had The King and Ehstella (our waitress on the beach) who made it enjoyable. The bartenders are friendly but limited when they don't have working equipment and enough liquor.

This is our go to vacation spot. We love everything about this place. The food is good. They have burgers on the beach during the day for lunch. The entertainment at night is always fun. We get to dance in the courtyard to the lounge singers. The beach is beautiful. The service staff is Excellent. The cleaning crew, waitresses, waiters, towel guys, everyone is great.

Got married here and had my honeymoon here. The wife and I loved it. The area is beautiful and the employees were very friendly and amazing. Loved the presidential suite. The restaurants at the resort are phenomenal, great food and service. I honestly wish I was there now.

Landscaping beautiful and well kept. The beach is gorgeous with lots of palm trees for shade (if you want to get out of the sun) staff very pleasant and helpful. The food quality was lacking. Generally overcooked and dry. Presentations nice but doesn't replace quality. Now resort next door doesn't do any better.

The facility is well maintained and very clean, food is delicious, cocktails heavy, but the loud Americans disturb a wonderful holiday

Good hotel chain ... less rooms than other hotel chains with the same number of staff..so the result is more careful

Absolutely stunning beach and the hotel was a lot of fun with amazing service. We had a great time.

Food, entertainment and nightlife were average at best.
Oceans is there number one rated restaurant and it was terrible in my opinion. The lobster bisque was brown and the chicken and lobster dish was plain and tasteless.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
The shoreline was full of seaweed which I understand is out of their control however other resorts in the area were out there cleaning it up and Secrets was not.
Poolside and buffet service was fantastic.
Overall, I would not recommend this resort. I was expecting more from the reputable "Secrets" name.

All services and services are of a very high level.

Loved our stay at Secrets as we were with a larger group. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The facilities were impeccable and clean. The food waa mediocre. Tasteless. The prices in the gift shop were ridiculously high. We paid $26 for a much needed sunscreen. The staff in the store was rude and spoke Spanish to one another the entire time, instead of paying attention to the customers.

Fantastic place, the bar on the beech has the best barmen. They always go out of there way to make feel welcome and have a laugh and a joke.
Food is okay, nothing special very average. The drinks are branded and non branded, the wine is below average standard.
The hotel rooms and grounds were kept clean.
I would definitely recommend it

The service was poor, the food tasted like it was refrigerated, the HVAC broke twice in my room overnight and they sprayed our room for bugs, the pool was dirty not much to say!

Lazy river pool isn't a lazy river. It's just a pool. There is a lot of walking around the pool for no real reason. Bar staff at night are very good.

What a amazing 5 days .. what made this trip amazing is the staff. Angel , Nelson make it happen for you .. they are friendly , hard workers and will go to the moon and back for you ... mini bar Bryon made sure we had everything we wanted in our room , supervisor of the mini bar Oscar good job . The hotel over all have a great service .The hotel need some upgrade . And something that definitely need some attention is the people out in the beach selling things . This people don t leave you alone asking every min . Offering things for you to buy ... Otherwise I will definitely go back . Btw great food !!!!

First class all-inclusive. Best we have ever stayed at.

We were / are looking for an intermediate hotel to accommodate our German guests / tour groups.
A beautiful complex with a well-kept beach. Varied and high quality food with the option of choosing from different restaurants, even with show cooking. Breakfast with a view of the beach and the sea and a great pool area with a flow system. Thanks to Jeffrey Espiritusanto's good knowledge of German, we were even able to get some interesting advice for a visit outside the hotel complex and the usual tourist paths as well as inspiration for our safari guests. For example a visit to Montana Redonda (a romantic place for couples) or a day trip to Cano Hondo with its freshwater pools and Hoyo Azul!
One reason why we shortlisted this hotel is the friendly and polite bar and the service with Jeffrey Espiritusanto due to his good knowledge of German, which facilitates the exchange for our German guests. This is for a hotel in the cathedral. Rep. Very unusual. It would be nice if more employees in the guest service / bar manager or excursion agency could speak German in the hotel in order to attract more German guests and to improve their stay.

Highly recommended, nice hotel, good food. If the musty smell in the rooms would not be full stars. Unfortunately, the climate is.

Just great! We enjoy the time to the fullest. Very well-kept area, great food in the various restaurants and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

Absolutely amazing resort and staff. From the moment of arrival my wife and I were very pleasantly welcomed by everyone as if we'd been there before. I cannot say thank you enough for the awesome job done by Roberto - his demeanor, attitude, willingness to help, recommendations and suggestions made the trip even more memorable and "excelente!" Freddy was extremely helpful as well with recommending things to do, places to see and how to get there. Alberto, is by far the best waiter I've had in a long time.

I'm not certain why there are negative reviews re: the food - everything that we had for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, snack, room service, dinner #2 was great. :) Some people just can't be pleased regardless of the beauty that surrounds them.

Gabriel, thank you for always being there when we needed transportation. Because of the people and the service alone we will definitely plan a return trip; VERY SOON. Roberto, I expect you to still work there when I return..... but as President or Vice President or Chairman... you deserve it :) Thanks again!

The rooms were ok, but always smelled musty. The food was somewhere between mediocre and poor. It seemed like they tried to "Americanize" all their dishes and did a rather bad job of it. For example, the "nachos" were a plate of chips and cold, solidified cheese in a bell pepper shell. Hardly what I'd call nachos. On the positive side, the beach and pool were definitely excellent and well maintained. However the bars closed early and although the advertised "top shelf" liquor, they really just had local liquor which was far from tip shelf. Last but not least, they ran out of hot water, not once, but twice! And by ran out I don't mean it went cold, I mean there was literally no hot water flowing out. It simply stopped. Highly unpleasant when you're covered in soap in the shower. I wouldn't say the experience was awful, but I'm not sure I'll be going back either.

We booked here because of the location and amenities. Service and food are good. My complaint is that there is major demolition and construction going on 12 hours a day! You re on the beach or even inside your room, all you can hear is pounding of heavy equipment, power saws and hammering! All I wanted was a nice, peaceful vacation. You won t find it here. Very disappointed!

This was a georgeous resort. We loved the pool and the variety of food options. The staff is what really made this a memorable trip. From Gendry and Fernando (our favorite poolside bartenders) to Shakira (on the entertainment team) and Rosegal (making omlets and dancing) we felt like part of the family. We would definitely go back!

Excellent service, very good facilities and the professors who do ten activities.

I only rate the beach not the hotel !!! In the wind, the beach is a disaster so much seagrass 1m high I have not seen in life and the sellers go to the bag to lie by the pool I need not fly for 2000 euros in the Dominican Republic. Conclusion the sea is not accessible the hotel itself is ok

Great facility, clean, nice staff. Everything is offered what 5 star hotel can and should offer. Great room. Daily is super clean.

We had waited 10 years to have the worst vacation here! Our stay was supposed to be 7 nights 8 days. After day 3 I got so ill had to be transported via ambulance to hospital. They won't help you unless they charge your cc $2500 as a down payment. Had to spend the night. They tried keeping me another but I insisted to go back to hotel. Next day my husband got the same thing. Both of us bed ridden. I did book this through Apple Vacation and purchased travel insurance. But guess what? Secrets owns Apple too! Our stay was in Oct and to still see folks getting food poisoning speaks for itself! Do not stay here! Food sux and Secretes don't care one bit! As you can see, they pick and choose who they respond to! I will get my money back one way or another. Might cost us more in legal fees but this place has got to STOP getting people sick on their vacations that we Americans paid top dollar for!! HORRIBLE

There is a star deduction, as the seller (parasailing, picture with monkey, ..) on the beach are very intrusive.

Secrets Royal Beach was an absolutely stunning resort! We (Myself and 2 close friends) stayed for 3 days,2 nights and wished we had booked longer Before arriving,I had concerns about the language barrier...but it was no big deal! Upon entering the resort,we were greeted with immaculate customer service! Imagine how you feel going to Chick Fil A and multiply by ten! I would go back to the resort just for the extraordinary service alone! Our suite was clean and with a beautiful view of the resort. We literally walked less than 5 minutes to get to the beach. We ate at the buffet style restaurant,Hibachi, and Italian restaurants on the resort and all the food was delicious! Definitely planning on returning add staying at Secrets again

My wife and I were looking for a relaxing week away from our children for the first time. Secrets impressed us on all fronts.
The food was excellent and there were a huge number of options available on the resort.
The location on the beach was beautiful. Kayaking, paddle boarding, wind surfing, and Hobie cats were all available at no additional cost. Seaweed was minimal. They had a tractor combing the beach morning, day, and night.
Finally, We were most impressed by the staff. The people working on the resort were incredibly friendly and worked very diligently to meet and exceed expectations. In particular, Garfield of the entertainment staff, was a great ambassador for the resort. The second time I saw him, he remembered my name and was genuinely concerned about how he could make our stay a memorable one. Throughout the week, we saw him each day and enjoyed several conversations. I ve included a photo of him teaching my wife Latin dance.
I have no reservations about giving Secrets my endorsement and I hope that we can return soon.

Great food and drinks. The beach is clean and beautiful blue water. The staff are amazing people of color that speak spanish and english. The junior suite is amazing and comfortable.

The resort was nice, food was ok. The staff was excellent. There were some things i did not like about the experience. When i booked on their site the offered me $300 toward extras, well it was a bunch of $10 off coupons toward an over priced bottle of wine ($45 for a bottle i can get $10 in New York), some money off a very expensive massage. We could not actual get anything without spending a lot more money. There was a high pressure sales pitch on their vacation club. seemed tacky, don't get sucked in. If you do check the math, it's not correct.

The scenery is amazing and definitely the highlight of this location. The rooms are very close to the ocean and the pool. That is where the 5 star rating ends. The food is basically all the same. There are several items from the Mexican, Italian, Seafood grill and other themed restaurants that are available on every buffet. The food is nothing stellar and after eating it everywhere at the resort it gets tired fast. The rooms are in a need of a face lift and in our case was full of mold. There is a lot of humidity here, which they can't help, however there was so much mold in our room it was hard to breathe and we needed to switch rooms. The resort did make it right with us but we wonder how safe the rest of the rooms are. There isn't a lot to do during the day on property, you have you choice of the ocean or the pool. There are some excursions you can go on which are pretty neat but the entertainment on the property starts around 9pm and they are incredible.

A great experience! The smaller size than most other resorts makes it more exclusive.
It has a good entertainment structure.
Its beach area is really paradisiacal and very pleasant with enough bar service and beach chairs both in the shade of coconut trees and in cabanas.
The main restaurant has a beautiful view of the sea and you have many dining options with 100% a la carte service for dinner.
In the rooms there are the jacuzzis on the balconies. The difference in relation to other resorts is noted even in details such as the non-necessity of using bracelets and cards to remove towels.

Great beach, poor pool management, satisfactory food, horrible sushi. Bring your own raft, lounge chair and cup for drinks.

We had a great time here, a week Nov 11-18th. Staff and location are excellent. We upgraded to the Private Club which has some perks, better drink/food choices and some more private areas ( beach pool & lounge)
we didn't use the butler service or concierge much. Facilities a bit dated but still very nice and clean spa is excellent and gym very good too. Lots of activities the entertainment team very good, casino ok and nightclub was banging every night. The food is good, better at secrets than Now, which is the other resort you get access to. The staff works very hard and are very pleasant, sending a special thanks to Freddy Ventura, Antonio in the lobby bar, Antonio in the VIP bar, Garfeild of the activity team, Servers Jeffery, Flabia, Oliver and everybody who made our vaycay super. Take lots of 1$ bills and tip liberally everybody.

First time to Dominican, and such a beautiful place. Hotel was amazing and the staff was too. Very friendly and lovely people. Need to give credit to the yards man that are out there night long cleaning to wake up to another amazing view from my balcony. Honestly I preferred the buffet, all kinds of food and never left there hungry. I wish I got the name of the little lady that greeted us every meal by saying Punta Canada! She just made our day, thank you. Also to the bell hop that came and checked us out, he went over and above with his help, went our bus didn t not show up to pick us up. He was the one that went looking for our Rep (AirTran) to find out want was going on. Our Rep DID NOT COME TO US. So a big thank you to him. But most of all Mariano, you made our trip and stay a trip to remember, a friend for live!!!

My favorite resort. Beautiful place. The employees are the best

In March 2018 for several months in the hotel and next to the hotel daily construction noise from morning to evening.
Otherwise you can definitely go on vacation in the hotel.

The room was gorgeous...we had a swim up. The ac worked great but if you pay for VIP you don't get a butler in this block of rooms but these rooms are newer and nicer than vip. We still upgraded. Biggest complaint was that it seemed there was no alcohol in our drinks but food and service were great. We also didn't like the 3 hour sales pitch when we arrived...it made me livid. Overall though this was an amazing vacation and my complaints are insignificant.

So far I am disappointed. And since we're still there, we have to let out some air now. Arrived on January 8th, 2020 we were not welcomed in a friendly manner. At the beginning we had room 5310 which is not recommended if you are sensitive to sleep. On the one hand, the room is located on the street to the supplier's entrance to the neighboring hotel and, on the other hand, the show stage is very close, so that it is not possible to sleep before midnight. So if you sleep with the windows open at night you will be woken up at 2.30 a.m.
In addition, the shower head was only hung in the shower, which had the consequence that the hose popped on my toe and it is now blue.
The room was swapped.
In 5272 the phone broke several times so far.
And this room is even closer to the supplier entrance of the neighboring hotel.
Room service forgets some food.
And changing from Dominican Pesos from large 1000 Pesos to 100 Pesos is not possible at the reception, in the casino or even with the staff.
We would like to give a tip but no change no tip.
We look forward to visiting the Level again, because that's worlds better and calmer.
Because you have the opportunity to evade if there is a program during the day.
This was not the case here at the pool.
Relax here ...... Very difficult.
And the vacation doesn't end until January 22nd, 2020.

The facilities here are decent. However the service is some of the worst we've seen in years. The bars are so disorganized it takes forever to get a drink. The wait staff in general at the restaurants as well as bars are completely unorganized. There is no structure so everyone is running around without any organization. the food here is very Bland and tasteless. the liquor that they use is the cheapest possible liquor they can find. Also a word of warning the $200 gift card is really just an invitation to sit through a very high pressure timeshare pitch. Don't do it. We had people in our group fall for that and it wasted 5 hours of their time. All in all this place needs A lot of improvement.

I promised to express my opinion once I knew this establishment after my bad experience with his "sister" Now Larimar and I will do it in a few days.

Great place really enjoyed our time here. Rooms are clean and spacious. We paid extra for preferred club which was worth it private pool and dinning.

The service was outstanding, so many good choices, the entertainment team were always upbeat and kept it fun!

Hotel is small with large rooms, grounds are very nice, pool and river clean. Food variety impressive but not very fancy. Beach has a lot of chairs, big problem for me were drug pushers on the beach (individuals in white shirts) standing 70 yards from each other and agresivly soliciting everybody so walking on the beach is almost impossible.

Very nice facility. Service a bit disoriented. We have already eaten better. Spacious rooms, good quality.

THE PLACE IS EXCELLENT FOR ITS CONDITIONS AND THE GROUP OF BOYS THAT ENCOURAGE THE ACTIVITIES ARE EXCELLENT AS WELL AS THOSE THAT PROVIDE SERVICE TOO ... VERY GOOD ENVIRONMENT IN GENERAL

Loved everything about it and I m excited to go back next year

I am only giving this place 2 stars because the people overall try really hard to make sure that you are taken care of when you are there. It really should be 1. The people are the best part of the resort. Everyone was really nice and helpful.

However, the resort itself falls short. The preferred bar/lounge was too small, and the "premium" liquors taste watered down or like the bottles were filled with a cheaper option. All of the food was mediocre to disgusting, on both the Secrets side and the Now side. We left whole plates of food at our table and got up a few times. There was 1 restaurant that had good food, so we ended up eating there for most of our stay, that was Seaside Grill. The room was fine for us with only minor issues, but the couple that we were traveling with had to be moved 2 times in 5 days. We paid for preferred ocean view. They did deliver on that part.

The pool on the preferred side looked a little green, and the pool on the party side looked dirty, but that could have been from all of the folks at the bar doing you know what in the water. The resort should compensate for that if it is the case. This place is definitely not worth the money.

It is a beautiful hotel, hygiene is very important here (bar, restaurant, hotel room and the public toilets - the entire hotel is in perfect condition).

But there are also a few negative things to report, the cocktails are particularly bad here, which unfortunately was felt by many guests, it is not due to the ingredients but especially to the preparation (the pool bar or the beach bar should be trained urgently )

We will definitely go there twice, maybe next year the cocktail will be better, we would be happy

All inclusive, good food, entertainment, good beach..

Extraordinary stay. We are staying two weeks. Extra staff, smiling and kind, always there to help. The facilities are top, always clean. The rooms are huge, as the bed of 2m! Lots of restaurants in the hotel for a daily change of scenery. I'll be back.

We stayed at Secrets Royal Beach for 10 days in the Preferred Club Ocean Front Master Suite. The room was absolutely exquisite! Our personal butler, Luis Emmanuel was outstanding, catering to our every needs! The beach was clean, and very well maintained...and Junior, the beach cocktail server was attentive, kind, and simply a pleasure to see and chat with every day! I would highly recommend this resort to any of my friends and family! Thank you so much to all who helped make our vacation absolutely memorable!
