Food was just meh. I can cook pretty well so I expect a lot out of a restaurant for $30 per plate. The view of time Square is only from 2 tables in the whole place. Plenty of great places in Manhattan... Skip this one. Try rainbow room similar prices, much better view, and better food.

Room and reception personnel were very nice, welcoming and helpful. The concierge was particularly helpful BUT the restaurant staff is truly disagreeable and rude. I am sorry I tipped 20% for dinner and breakfast buffet. I thought they were very judgmental.

The view was excellent, the drinks were great I will recommend the margarita with a sugar rim. And from my friends the pizza was good. And I was grwatful not being from there nor staying at that hotel a good Samaritan returned my debit card. So. Who ever you were thank you

I would say "complex" experience. We have "invaded" the hotel with a party of over 50 people on the occasion of Columbus Day. With all the baroque clothes also very bulky. Unfortunately it has also rained and we have had many discomforts. Very very convenient place to get around Manhattan. Terrace with views of Times Square. Breakfast (excellent, plentiful and international) a bit expensive.

Hotel well located. Business corner works well. Wifi ok. Nice terrace ... it is nice and it is not closed in the morning and reserved for other private evenings pm and evening. it is very damaged in spite of renovation. Seats .. showers etc. The staff is not the most friendly nor welcoming. Especially qd we advocate 1 service to the French. The buffet is expensive for what they offer. Supplement for 1 nespresso or other than the basic coffee (not good of the tt). Breads and pastries not excellent. As a reminder it is qd even a 4 stars .. .do not 1 lowcost.

Did not meet my expectations in terms of service and hospitality.

- I paid for a Times Square view and requested 2 days before my arrival and on the day of my arrival to have a room on the upper floors, my room was on the 10th floor, which is the 1st floor of the rooms.
- Service and hospitality far from what is done in the USA. I had to eat twice away from the view of the breakfast room because supposedly no room (it was enough to clear and set up the 3 empty tables). I have been better received in other hotels for which I simply went to the rooftop.
- The hotel has recently been renovated yet it is very dated, old-fashioned and has no charm. Almost in bad taste.
- Very good location for a first come to NYC (very touristy but nice)
- Very nice bathroom.

Very good potential but review:
- The service (more attentive to the customer), it is not normal that tables with a view of Times Square are empty and that we are told that there is no place. The staff are cold.

- Deco already aged it's a shame.

The location of this hotel deserves 5 stars. We went out on the balcony for drink and were looking down on the lights of Times Square. The staff was very helpful and the room was great. Would definitely stay again the next time I'm in NYC.

Just the lack of availability of reception staff and their extreme rigidity.
I had booked the stay with credit card imprint + as for all my trips, check-in three days before.
Credit card authorization request on arrival. Weird ...
Except that my bank (CREDIT MUTUEL) systematically blocks the cards when first used in the United States (cause of frequent fraud risk). Imbroglio, I did not understand why my card did not pass, hotel refusal to give me my room. My husband's card (itou CREDIT MUTUEL) blocked. We received 1 / 2h after our arrival a mutual credit SMS: we contacted them and the card unlocked. It's all arranged.
On the other hand,
- why so much rigidity when I had checked in?
- why the hotel charged 100% of the stay on arrival when they had to make a simple authorization?

Not extremely serious, but just regrettable.

Booked for a special occassion room wasnst cleaned for the duration of the stay. Staff did not acknowledge us and on checking out when i tried to tell them about the room they showed no interest.

Very nice hotel, stunning views of Times Square! An ideal location next to the metro. Times Square and Central Park within easy walking distance, theaters and a variety of restaurants nearby.
The room and in particular the bedding is perfect, impeccable service and cleanliness!
Fast and stable wifi is included
Breakfast is too expensive (CHF 34.00 per person including tax) for the choice offered. This is the only thing I could fault this hotel for.
A good choice for a discovery stay.

This hotel has one of the best views of Times Square for its price range if you get the right rooms. The large windowsills in the room made it comfortable to sit by the window with a snack or drink while watching all the commotion of Times Square from a few blocks away. The lobby restaurant/bar, along with its outdoor terrace is well-decorated and has a nice view of Times Square as well. Rooms are clean and neat, although the like most NYC rooms, it's on the smaller side.

Attendants at the desk seemed to do a favor by attending. They spoke so fast it was incomprehensible. Do you ask twice to repeat it, you can not be suspicious that the person is not understanding? Although I paid for breakfast in advance for two days I could not eat. They make so much mess at the entrance that after having to wait in line I gave up. And there is no control of who paid in advance. They came to tell me the only day I got coffee. Would not recommend.

A very nice hotel, impeccable and friendly service. The room is modern and very correct. We had the New Year and did not know where to eat in the evening of the 31st and the concierge advised us (at the top). A great view of times square!

Attentive staff, very modern setting and decoration "trendy", impeccable cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general, hearty breakfast, varied and tasty, everything is done so that the customer comes back and recommends this establishment to his entourage.

I was very disapointed when my wife and I checked inot the Novotel Times Square on the 28th August for our three night stay. I have been an Accor Advantage Plus member for over 12 years, and when my wife and I were allocated an accessible room instead of what we had booked as our accommodaiton, we were very unimpressed, and in fact could not believe that the proprietors of this hotel would even consider that this room would be acceptable. The room was totally unsatisfactory for our needs and we immediately requested that an alternative room (one that we had booked could be allocated to us). The duty manager was unable to help, it was 12.30am in the morining when we eventually checked in, and he said he would have it attended to in the morning. We did eventually receive a change of rooms, but no apology for the allocaton of the accessible room, and no consideration given to any compensation or acknowledgement as to why this room was allocated to us in the first instance. If we had not sought to seek a change of room, then it was obvious that the management of the hotel were going to leave us in this unacceptable accessible room for the duration of our stay. This is the first time I have incurred a bad experience at an Accor hotel, I hope that it doesnt happen again', as I do value my Accor membership and feel that it does provide (usually) a good level of service and consitency of room allocation.

I do not know what to do if I go to the lobby floor in an elevator, but it smells good.
The staff are friendly and the location is really good!
I stayed on the 30th floor and the view of the Hudson River was great!

We stayed at the Novotel Times Square in March. The room and bathroom was good sized and clean. The hotel had great amenities for its size and we had no trouble with waiting times for elevators, they serviced every floor very efficiently (which isn t the case in all NYC hotels). The hotel s location is great, and particularly good for anyone visiting the Big Apple for the first time.

A recommendation I could make, would be to upgrade your room to a Times Square view, either low or high. It s a great view day or night.

A modern looking comfortable hotel with a good location.

The staff are friendly and maintenance is attentive. We had an issue with our tv and within 30 mins a pleasant engineer arrived and fixed it.

It's located at the top of times square so you just have to walk down the road to get to all the main attractions on times square. With it being at the top it's not too far a walk to Central Park.

It's worth noting that there's a $34 a night tax to pay on check out and they require a card on checking in to reserve around $80 per night on it which is returned to you on check out minus anything charged to the room.

The cleaners are great and give fresh towels and spruce up your room daily.

There's plenty of american channels playing sports, movies and programs for when you want to chill.

The restaurant in there is quite pricey (even for New York) and although the food is a good quality I'd eaten at better quality places for slightly less around time square and Manhattan.

All in all a good stay.

- Top location

- Top location
- Lobby big and modern
- Reception rude and obtrusive (no German, Italian, Spanish knowledge)
- Value for Money (was one of the cheapest hotels in NYC in March 18 for CHF 1800.- for 7 days without breakfast)
- Room was rather big for NY standards, quiet and clean

On the whole, certainly recommendable.

Hotel very well located but overly expensive; breakfasts cost $ 33 per person and the tax is $ 16.33 per night! The room is ok but not luxurious for a room in the amount of $ 300 to $ 400 in high season. I will not recommend this hotel.

Our first time in NYC and Novotel came highly recommended by our travel agent. Location is good, but hotel does not provide any information as other hotels do as to where anything is in relation to the hotel. There is also no info in room as to where ice machines, gym etc are located in the hotel. What really, really irked me, though, was that a $240 hold was placed on our debit for incidentals . While I DO understand the reason, I was NOT told ahead of time it would be that much. My husband inquired at the front desk about it and asked to get it reduced we have a cruise in two days and they, too, will hold my account. We were told too bad, all hotels in NYC do this and it will not be released for 2-3 business days after we check out. NOT cool!! My husband and I travel 2-3 times a year, but right now we have no plans to ever visit Novotel again.

The scents of this place is so refreshing intoxicating, and relaxing. You walk in and the notes of sandlewood and others waft through the air. As you go from the lobby to the bar called SuperNova, the bartenders are real service oriented people. You will feel comfortable and the bartenders make some strong drinks.

I booked Double Room with Two Double Beds and Times Square View - High Floor, cosy and clean room, needs more Facilities at least water heater and more light too. But the view is perfect Nothing more, only a few minutes walk to time square and just down the hotel there is super market

Was on a low floor this time. Toilet paper mount fell off the wall in the middle of the night. Met a woman who got food poisoning from the hotel restaurant and was hospitalized. I still enjoy it here. Right in Times Square! Staff is wonderful. Breakfast is abundant and varied.

Check in was friendly and fast. Room was more spacious than any other Times Square hotel we have ever stayed in. Good amount of storage. Mini fridge was a plus. Housekeepers were very friendly and efficient. Had a view of Broadway and Times Square from our room. Could watch the ball drop from our room if we stayed on New Years Eve!

Comfortable and clean rooms with spectacular views. There is a gym, a bar / restaurant, a terrace with views of Times Square, a souvenir shop and an ATM. The staff is available and the lobby is welcoming.

I and my wife spent 3 nights at the hotel. The room size was very adequate, well kept, very comfortable, beautiful, and it gives you a superb view of times square. Very neat bathroom but the Internet is very expensive. The staffs were awesome, making sure we get everything we need. Easy walking distance to times square, restaurants and malls. Above all, the hotel services gives you value for your money

Good hotel close to several metro lines, close to the 53rd Street stations that lead directly to the JFK. Comfortable rooms, good fencing and cleanliness. I sinned for the quality of the amenities and for the breakfast that I found weak of options and always repetitive.

Good spacious room, was very clean too. Except the sofa to the side that had some dust, but only someone with a tendency to get allergies would notice that. A kettle to heat drinking water in the room would be a great addition, which is a fairly standard requirement for most travelers and available in most hotels.

THE ROOM THAT HAS BEEN ALLOCATED WAS COMPLETELY CARINE BUT THE CLEANING WAS VERY POOR. BREAKFAST OF POOR QUALITY AND SERVED IN A NICE CONTEXT BUT THE CLEANING OF TABLES AND CHAIRS AND VERY LOW POINT FROM EVERYDAY CLOTHES getting polluted, STAFF AND LITTLE INCLINED TO THE REPORT BY THE PUBLIC.

Really loving this hotel. Modern room accommodations. Celebrity sighting at the bar (and good food/drinks, too). Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and kind. Location is outstanding. Views are great.

It was a wonderful experience! The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful! We love your hotel! I was the lead teacher on a field trip from Rensselaer (near Albany). My students thought that it was a great hotel! I teach in a 70% poverty school district and we raise every penny doing numerous fundraisers throughout the year. I think that it is a great experience for them to see what having extra money can look like!

Excellent 4 stars. Excellently located, in the middle of the theater area. A few hundred meters from Times Square. The rooms from 20 to 33 floor have a great view. They are quite clean and equipped with everything you need. Missing perhaps a necessary thing and normally present in American hotels: the water kettle. Excellent and abundant breakfast even if a little expensive. Spectacular view from the restaurant area with terrace overlooking Times Sq. High tips !!!!!!!
