Graham Francis Review of Novotel NY Times Square Hotel

I was very disapointed when my wife and I checked inot the Novotel Times Square on the 28th August for our three night stay. I have been an Accor Advantage Plus member for over 12 years, and when my wife and I were allocated an accessible room instead of what we had booked as our accommodaiton, we were very unimpressed, and in fact could not believe that the proprietors of this hotel would even consider that this room would be acceptable. The room was totally unsatisfactory for our needs and we immediately requested that an alternative room (one that we had booked could be allocated to us). The duty manager was unable to help, it was 12.30am in the morining when we eventually checked in, and he said he would have it attended to in the morning. We did eventually receive a change of rooms, but no apology for the allocaton of the accessible room, and no consideration given to any compensation or acknowledgement as to why this room was allocated to us in the first instance. If we had not sought to seek a change of room, then it was obvious that the management of the hotel were going to leave us in this unacceptable accessible room for the duration of our stay. This is the first time I have incurred a bad experience at an Accor hotel, I hope that it doesnt happen again', as I do value my Accor membership and feel that it does provide (usually) a good level of service and consitency of room allocation.
