An awesome day event with the family. The big tank was just unbelievably good. The penguins feeding time was interesting and we learnt quite a bit. The 3-D show on the Great Whites was amazing.

Not really sure how to even begin. The line was all the way to the end of the street with a queue that lasted forever. We waited for nearly an hour before discovering you can buy tickets online and just check in with those... which, you guessed it, had another long line you had to stand in. For a Saturday, the place was an absolute madhouse and no one had any regard for anyone else. Staff didn't seem to care to assist anyone either like holding open doors for strollers or handicapped folks.

The absolute worst part was the food. All 3 of us ended up sick after the fact and all we got was chicken tenders, fries and a small pizza (the very worst of all of it.) Food was also grossly overpriced and its served in a free for all manner where they have to put up signs that say "Take what you touch." Gross.

Sea lion trainers seemed unenthusiastic when presenting the show. Penguin people didn't engage at all, but some of the staff in smaller areas did which was mildly refreshing. All of the exhibits were overrun by huge groups pushing and shoving. However, people with strollers were the worst. My ankles were assaulted everywhere I went, despite trying to give everyone the right of way.

Exhibits were lack luster with the center large tank with fish, turtles and the penguins being the most exciting part of it all - this all being able to be seen within the first 20 minutes of being there. In the end, it wasn't even remotely worth the 90+ minute wait to get in or the mild food poisoning we all walked away with.

If you want to feel a sense of worthlessness and depression, this is the place for you. It's no wonder youth today are depressed when they visit a place like this and they are constantly told humans are the root cause of almost everything negative that happens. The amount of negativity towards humans is borderline irresponsible. It's as if they lay the blame of every animals death at the feet of humankind, never mind that more animal species went extinct before humans than are in existence today. Never mind that the earth has constantly experienced climate change. This aquarium beats kids over the head with the message that human existence is bad. Honestly, it's a depressing, crowded, over-priced mess, I gave it two stars because I like fish.

Awful experience. $99 for a family of 4, suffocatingly crowded. Not surprisingly, the stroller check was full. We went at 2pm on a Saturday and it was so crowded, we could barely move or see a single exhibit. Thankfully we bought our tickets online beforehand or we would have had to wait in a 30 to 40 minute line outside before even getting in. Left after an hour, very disappointed.

I looked at the website and they said they were open. I drove an hour with my children to find out they were not open due to COVID-19. It would be nice if they updated their website and stated they were closed. Very disappointed in the management of the Boston aquarium

Such an amazing Aquarium. The four story Aquarium is just amazing. I definitely didn't expect it to be as big as it was and as much fun. We drove six hours to visit this Aquarium and we will definitely be doing it again.

Really great aquarium, didactically well done (evidence of ecological relationships, conscious own behavior etc). live animal presentation was very interesting and informative - with me about Axolotl. A star deduction for the "Streichelbecken" with the rays.

It's a very nice place to spend a couple hours. I brought my three young kids, they generally are interested for about as long as you'd imagine, and once youve done the loop there isn't that much more to do with your 70-100 bucks. There are some shows, and demonstrations that if you can get kids to sit through are good. It's just crowded a lot of the times and that can make it difficult to traverse and actually enjoy. I liked it, my kids thought it was okay.

We finally purchased a membership and I'm not sure why I never did it before! You would not have to go very many times to make it well worth it. Not only that but it gets you in much faster. No line! That is especially nice if you are going during a crazy period such as school break like we did. We got free tickets to the IMAX theater this time and in the future they will only be $5 each. Additionally we got $10 off from parking. Make sure to have your ticket validated!

We had a great time! I was little worried since it was school vacation and half the reviews were not favorable. My kids, who are 4 & 2 absolutely loved it. I felt that fishes and penguins, seals were happy and well taken care of. Food at the cafeteria was actually decent- grass fed beef burger! They did have photos, stores and other add-ons like IMAX but no one forced us to spend extra money. It was very close to the T stop. so many volunteers to answer questions. It is mostly darker inside so keep your little ones very close. No potty above level 2. They only sell 'I touched a ray' shirt by the Rays not at the main store. Things were not over priced at the store. For membership- they will add on the nanny's name on the account at no charge, which is great!

I really enjoyed this aquarium. The tank in the middle is awesome and there are so many fish species, sharks, and huge turtles to watch in there you could spend hours staring into it. Theres a tank that you can touch stingrays and lots of penguins to watch as well.

If you're looking for a bathroom, duck into the movie theater building to the right of the aquarium (the funny-shaped one), go up the stairs on the left and use the bathrooms on the second floor. The aquarium won't let you use their bathrooms without buying a ticket.

Pros: The big tank in the center of the aquarium is fascinating and makes the price of admission almost worth it. The seals in the front and back are fun to watch. Jellyfish in the basement are a delight. Watching penguins hop and swim is neat.

Cons: Small - you can see the whole aquarium in 2 or 3 hours. Crowded on the days you'd want to visit (school holidays and weekends). Price of admission seems high for the number of exhibits. The building is starting to show its age and is due for a renovation.

Great place to visit...my 16yo son and I spent 2+ hours there, and it seemed like 15 minutes. We both took many pictures. Many souvenirs in the gift shop were overpriced (Ex: They were selling a large jellyfish water lamp for $130, and I dound/purchased the exact same lamp at Amazon for $65.

Decent size aquarium, some cool animals to check out but nothing really exceptional. Lots of people with kids and strollers and they try and get you with a picture package at the end... $30 for 1 picture or $40 for the whole package .

Waste of money , specially in the parking lot, and waste of time and energy. I traveled all the way to Boston to see the "awesome" things they had, and all I saw were tiny fishes and seals resting... I think that they should improve it with all the money they get. There are no sharks...no sharks!!! The most expected animal to see there is the shark. It was very boring...

You definitely must see the aquarium, when you visit Boston. The first thing you see when you get inside are penguins, and you just can't stand the cuteness! The whole 4 levels of the building are centered around the huge water tank with sharks, mantas, giant turtles and lots of fish of all kinds. You can pick your spot and watch them for hours! Other smaller tanks are on the outer walls, there you can see herring, water horses, golden eels, jellyfishes and other ocean creatures, also they have a contact tank for kids to explore crabs. Hint #1: buy tickets online - the price is the same as in their ticket office, but you don't have to wait a long line under the sun. Hint #2: if you have a small baby with you - take it in a ergo carrier; if your kid can walk - let him walk - leave a stroller on the first level. It gets crowded there and it takes time to squeeze with a stroller, kids get bored and anxious and you end up rolling the empty stroller after your running kid. Hint #3: make a lift to the 4th level at the beginning and go down to the 1st by foot - it's easier to go down, right? Enjoy your visit!
