Having a vast array of aquatic life and teeming with educational and environmental awareness it is a place for the whole family to lean and have fun. Just try to go on an off peak time if you can to avoid the enoromous crowds for a more individualized experience.

Top of the list. One of my families absolutely favorite places in the Boston area. So happy to see all the upgrades to the central tank. A joy when I was a child and now a joy to share with my own. Come early - it gets busy!

Awesome always! Whole fam went and it was great! they had new enhanced measures due to covid. You go and buy a ticket for a future time... we only had a 20 min wait so grabbed Italian ice and burgers from the kind vendors outside, sat at a picnic table looking at the wharf while waiting. Also we did participate with the contact tracing by giving name and phone #. Once in we were guided by floor postings and helpful employees who very kindly helped with directions and just generally oversaw the process and made sure everyone was abiding by the guidelines. They were at almost every turn which was assuring and they are all so nice.
Everyone wore masks and for the most part respected your space. As entry was limited it was not crowded at all and we did not feel rushed at any exhibits. The main tank is my favorite, but I adore the seals, penguins and baby seahorses too
The biggest turtle escorted us on our way down the spiral main tank, it was really great for the boys and us honestly as it was a break from home life!! Will go again hopefully before summers over

The aquarium reminds me of my childhood and I always think of it as a Boston staple. That being said, as an adult I am not nearly as impressed as I used to be. Between the parking and the admission it's a pretty steep price to pay for a couple hours worth of education and entertainment. I do like that they take a photo upon admission and my 5 year old LOVED the Sting Ray touch tank

It was very nice but did not have the under water tunnel as pictures lead you to believe. Very busy and crowded on weekends. I recommend buying tickets ahead online. Otherwise, prepare to make a crazy mile long line to buy tickets on the spot. No whales or dolphins... Kinda' the selling point of such a big aquarium.

I have been there 4 times in last couple of years(mainly to show guests around)...and more i go less attractive it appears
It also hasn't changed a bit with no new additions... . I feel its way too small and not have exciting activities which make you feel attached.. You wander for about an hour then start to gwt bored... They need some replanning in terms of activities to attract crowd...

This is the best aquarium I've ever visited! I love the huge glass tank in the center of the room. You have to go up a few flights of stairs to got all the way to the top of the tank! That's just one part. There's so much more to see! You won't be disappointed!

I've been here many times and I love it! during my most recent trip I had a 'meet and greet' with the seals, and I got to feed and interact with Reggae and his handler. Loved every moment of it! staff is friendly, knowledgable, and passionate

There isn't too large of a variety of things to see here. There's a shark and ray touch tank, however, the sharks are really shy and tend to hide, so it's rare that you get to see them. The penguins are cute and I enjoyed the sea turtles, but other than that, the experience I had there wasn't too memorable.

Nice vatriety of speices in the large tank very busy durring the weekends. With ebt or wic card itis very inexpensive...only $5 per person up to 4 people with 1 card. Was very disapointed that the corals were mostly fake with the exception of one small tank near the entrance that they were not exactly flourishing in and seemed sick almost. Understand tho that to have huge corals it would mean stealing over 100 years of growing coral in the wild to fill the large tank from the oceanand thats not right so it is appreciated that they consider the damage it could cause to a wild reef so they have only fake ones...but the tanks were beautiful. You can pet sting rays and baby sharks which is awesome. Very nice experience overall best time to go is durring the week of you actually want to see things up close and not be jostled around by other guests. Long lines at entrance usually but they move quickly with 6 windows and you get stamped so you can leave have lunch out in boston and come back...

Not Exactly The Most Exciting Place For Some Age Groups But Its Well Worth The Visit If Your Visiting Boston. Some Interactive Subjects Although Last Time I Went There I Waited In A Line For 45 Minutes To Get Inside. Oh Well Its Expected Since Its Boston. Often A Quiet Place And At The Top Of The Tank Sometimes Depending On The Time You Get A Nice Show And Overall The Place Is A Neat Place. When Your There Enjoy!

Always a fun time. Still looks the same after all this time. Place is kept very clean. One thing which surprised me was the lunch cafe inside was super reasonable with their prices. Most of the time places will rip you off for what it is. Kudos to the aquarium.

The sea lions/seals, Myrtle the sea turle and penguins were very cool and of course the main tank in general, the rest.....was ok. But it was HOT! and CROWDED! I expected it to be somewhat cooler than outside but I think it was worse. Glad we went and that our tickets were included in the Go Boston Card.

This place is really cool especially the large enclosure with the giant sea turtles, biggest turtles I seen in all my life. There also animals like stingray, pufferfish, seahorses and even penguins. This is the kind of place that would be great to take a trip with your family to.

A pretty decent aquarium, really enjoyed the interaction with staff - they actually care about answering questions from kids.

About New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is a world-renowned visitor attraction located in Boston, Massachusetts. With over 1.3 million visitors annually, it is one of the most popular destinations in the city and a major public education resource.

Founded in 1969, the New England Aquarium has been dedicated to promoting ocean conservation and marine research for over five decades. The aquarium's mission is to inspire visitors to protect and conserve our oceans through education, research, and advocacy.

One of the main attractions at the New England Aquarium is its Giant Ocean Tank. This massive cylindrical tank stands at four stories tall and holds over 200,000 gallons of water. Visitors can observe a variety of marine life up close as they swim around this impressive exhibit.

In addition to the Giant Ocean Tank, there are many other exhibits that showcase different aspects of marine life. The Amazon Rainforest exhibit features freshwater fish from South America while the Edge of the Sea exhibit highlights creatures that live along rocky shorelines.

The aquarium also offers various educational programs for visitors of all ages. From school field trips to summer camps and even adult workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about marine science and conservation.

For those interested in getting involved with ocean conservation efforts themselves, there are several volunteer opportunities available at the aquarium. Volunteers can assist with animal care or help educate visitors about ocean conservation issues.

Overall, visiting the New England Aquarium is an unforgettable experience that combines entertainment with education and promotes awareness about our planet's oceans.
