Always an interesting time. I brought myself and a date there a few days ago (they have a military discount) and am really regretting not getting a membership as I was halfway there, and would totally go back myself and with others. The tank in the middle is an amazing thing to absorb as you walk up the spiral way around it, and looking across its top os a wonderful finale to that trip. So much to experience and see here. Their Ray tank is one of the coolest things I have experienced in a long time; dozens of incredibly soft rays play around your hands, allowing you to basically pet their backs as they glide past your hands. I love those little guys!

The place is worth visiting, the highlight is the central aquarium with a ramp that allows you to reach the top and see several species: fish, turtle sharks. There is also the stingray tank, where you can touch them and photograph in the water.

Definitely don't go on a Saturday or Friday afternoon. Stick to the week days. And get a triple A membership if u cannot do the library card deal you'll save a ton of money. The wait in line isn't so bad just long, the inside kinda smells but I mean it's an aquarium! The bathroom smelled so bad but lots of traffic to can't be helped too much. Very clean for the human traffic it gets. Small exhibits but lots of them. The penguins and seals are the main attractions. Don't bother buying tickets online y wont be able to get any discounts and when you call you only get the automated system. Better just to wait in line and save with the discounts. Overall a cute and clean aquarium. Also, don't pay the outrageous price for parking... If you can find a quiet side streak and pay at the meter...youll save yourself about $30. A little bit of a walk but not a big deal. The IMAX theater is also separate from the main aquarium building but helps keep the main bulk of people spread out. If youre looking to save.. Try either the AAA discount, get a membership at the aquarium if you plan on going alot, buy the GoBoston card, or if you are a regular in the area, go get a library card. You can either get free tickets if you book ahead of time or $10 tickets for up to 4 people. You book them at a certain area, pick them up, and when your done at the aquarium bring them back.

I loved the exhibitions, the animals and everything related to wildlife. My only "critique" are the prices of the cafe and the store...damn not even Disney! I wanted to bring gifts to my family back in Puerto Rico but those prices!! Too much. And for the food, literally spent almost $30 for a burger when for like 75% less I paid for a entre and soda on a restuarant like two blocks away from the aquarium

We enjoyed this aquarium at a stand-up party reserved by the society. It was the second time, but the aquarium while eating while walking around the corridor is the best. The equipment is getting a little old.

I enjoyed a dinner party in the aquarium arranged by the international conference.Despite it was the second time, it was quite exciting to look around the aquarium with taking foods along the spiral. Unfortunately, it is fading down recently.

Just an aquarium. What would you expect. Plenty of beautiful fish and corals. Main tank in the center, a few floors high/deep, surrounded by a ramp to walk all the way up/down. Around, on the floors, separate aquaria. Exhibition with penguins, sea lions, and also stingrays that can be touched-quite a fun.

Enjoyable family experience. Easily accessible with free parking. One of their highlights is their Baluga whale outdoor water area where whales are displayed and happily romp around. They do grooming performances as well. Great place for family outing.

Great aquarium. If you're going to go twice in one year, get the membership. It's cheaper, and gives you the opportunity to get there an hour early a few times a year. When the place is empty of people it's such a cool expeirence.

While it's a neat place to take the kids, the admission price is horrible and, in my opinion, not worth it. If you're with a child who is under 7 or 8, they are going to get bored within 20-30 minutes. And in reality, you could probably view the entire aquarium in that time frame, especially with a fast child.

So you're essentially paying nearly $40 per person, to see fish for 20 minutes.

Negative opinion aside, it is a very nice place, but not worth the admission price.

About New England Aquarium

The New England Aquarium is a world-renowned visitor attraction located in Boston, Massachusetts. With over 1.3 million visitors annually, it is one of the most popular destinations in the city and a major public education resource.

Founded in 1969, the New England Aquarium has been dedicated to promoting ocean conservation and marine research for over five decades. The aquarium's mission is to inspire visitors to protect and conserve our oceans through education, research, and advocacy.

One of the main attractions at the New England Aquarium is its Giant Ocean Tank. This massive cylindrical tank stands at four stories tall and holds over 200,000 gallons of water. Visitors can observe a variety of marine life up close as they swim around this impressive exhibit.

In addition to the Giant Ocean Tank, there are many other exhibits that showcase different aspects of marine life. The Amazon Rainforest exhibit features freshwater fish from South America while the Edge of the Sea exhibit highlights creatures that live along rocky shorelines.

The aquarium also offers various educational programs for visitors of all ages. From school field trips to summer camps and even adult workshops, there are plenty of opportunities to learn about marine science and conservation.

For those interested in getting involved with ocean conservation efforts themselves, there are several volunteer opportunities available at the aquarium. Volunteers can assist with animal care or help educate visitors about ocean conservation issues.

Overall, visiting the New England Aquarium is an unforgettable experience that combines entertainment with education and promotes awareness about our planet's oceans. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through Boston on vacation, be sure to add this amazing attraction to your itinerary!
