This is a really nice hotel. My only complaint is the parking situation. You can elect to use the valet service at $25/day. If you don't use the valet you will have a very difficut time finding parking.
Beautiful facilities and rooms, very helpful & friendly staff. Water in shower is inconsistent temp, which is frustrating trying to get ready in the morning. Also the in-room Wi-Fi leaves much to be desired.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. Rooms are nice with easy access to the city. Parking is either valet or in a lot one block from the hotel. Nice central location.
Construction going on during stay, still had to pay premium price. Room was disappointing. Bathroom tiny, and not separated. Balcony was tiny, standing room for two only. Staff was nice.
Day late checking in and they sold my rooms. Tried to call day of and they hung up on me twice. Glad someone is making 2x their money by selling someone s room that they already paid for. Won t be using Marriott anymore you greedy a-holes.
Such a great hotel!! Everyone is so willing to help in anyway they can. And even gave us umbrellas to borrow in the rain storm. And the rooms are very big and bed are great! Awesome view of the beach and walking distance to the shops and restaurants.

Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and allowed us to sleep in late!

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice sized and updated rooms. Great location! Enjoyed the pool, hot tub and outdoor lounge area. Gym looks nice but I did not use it.
6 month late review. My wife and I reminisced about this place tonight. The service from the staff was really good. They gave us an amazing upgrade because we had the kids and were really nice about helping accommodate. Can't say much about weather in this area during July but the hotel made us feel comfortable.
I think it is too expensive for what they offer. Valet parking is much more expensive than on the next street public parking.
Pulled into the hotel at 1:30 PM but there was no room ready for check in. They took my number and my luggage so that I could check in later. They said they would ask housekeeping to expedite cleaning so I could get a room before the guaranteed check in time of 4pm. At 3:10pm, I asked for my luggage so that I could do some work in the lobby while I waited for my room. My luggage was returned with a broken handle. My $400 smart luggage is no longer usable as a carry on since I can't drag it with the broken handle. The bellman did not offer any compensation, just acknowledgement that it is broken. So far it's been a very poor experience.
Clean, cute, comfortable. Convenient location. Staff was great & provided excellent service. Breakfast was great. Coffee was really good. I will definitely stay here again
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff was very friendly especially Emily who uograded us, gave out kids stuffed animals, and exchanged notes with my daughter.

Motel at 4star price. Outdated all around , no safe in room, motel like bathroom, unhelpful receptionists, fridge is off to save money, WIFI goes down randomly. Definitely stay for experience
Great location right by the wharf. Rooms are nice; well furnished, clean and comfortable. Only minor complaint is the lack of free WiFi.

Nice hotel and conveniently located in downtown Monterey. Very close to fisherman's wharf and tons of nearby restaurants. Stayed here for a convention and the staff and accommodations were excellent. Definitely not the nicest Marriott I've stayed at, but very nice for the area.
Management unwilling to work with firefighters that are long time Marriott members. I've been a member for 8 years and I have not seen any benefits from it, guess it's time to change hotel chains. Their prices went from 130 to 352 in a couple of days, their bullshit food is over priced along with their beer....... I'm done!!!!!!
It was an older remodeled hotel that had a nice lobby, pool, jacuzzi, gym, and a restaurant inside the lobby. Valet parking and polite employees. The rooms were clean with only a view of the pool on our side of the building. The windows were single pane so I always thought they were open due to the noise from the swimmers at the pool. Refrigerators, coffee pot, and great tiled shower. Lovely walk down at the wharf.

At the heart of Monterey downtown, very convenient. If you are lucky, can may be able to find street parking ( only need to pay 9-6). Otherwise valet parking is 24/day. Room is clean and quiet. I like this Marriott

Friendly staff. The ample seating in the lobby is perfect for family games. Great pool for kids, as the entire pool is only 3.5ft deep. Awesome breakfast buffet.
Great place to stay! It was our first time in the city and everything was great. The room was nice and cozy. The front desk and valet were friendly and helpful. There was a Starbucks around the corner like 2 minute walk which was the best!!! Also more places to eat walking distance.
Pretty good view of the bay and the location isn't too far from downtown section or Cannery Row (maybe 15 minute walk from the hotel).

About 15 minutes ($ 15) by taxi from the station. The room is large and clean. Especially you can stay without inconvenience.
Right near the pier the Marriott is a great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of downtown Monterey. The room was clean and updated with good ameneties.
Hotel room is clean with a decent view. Bed is like a trampoline but surprisingly fairly comfortable. My only issue is that the fire alarm apparently went off in the middle of the night and no one above the 3rd floor heard it. We heard the announcement that it was a false alarm but no one heard the alarm. Scary to think of if it was a real fire.
I love this place. It's is very nice. The staff is fabulous. My only complaint is the lack of parking and the outrageous vallet fee.
I stayed at the Monterey Marriott during an education conference. The room was well appointed and the bathroom in particular was lovely, marble and glass in the shower area.

Clean and nice rooms with a large lobby. Very centrally located and walking distance to the fishermen's wharf. They charge for parking, but you can find overnight parking on Del Monte Ave. Just be careful to read the meter restrictions. The valet staff will kindly attend your car while you off load luggage even if you're not parking on site.
Great location near Fisherman's Wharf! Beautiful lobby. There's no self park onsite so you'll be have to valet or find street parking after 6pm. The rooms could use a little refreshing. Unfortunately, there were a lot of families in the hotel and we could hear kids running up and down the halls in the morning. We tried to use the hot tub one night and the jets were blowing out bubbles and cold water.

We always stay at Marriott and the one in Moterey didn't disappoint. This location is close enough that you can walk to many things or drive for 5-10 minutes and get to everything else that you want to see.

A nice surprise, a step up from regular Marriott, seems to have been recently renovated. Well located. Excellent breakfast buffet with more variety than expected!!!
They are pet-friendly and the staff were all outstanding and pleasant. The room was very clean. I love their walk-in showers! This location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

Great Location, Great Customer Service, Rooms are kinda small and no pull out bed in couch so kids had to sleep on the couch and floor but overall great place to stay
I was in t ok set up network for an event. The staff is pleasant and very professional there.
The service we received was great and the lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The room was clean and spacious, although the interior decor was slightly outdated (especially the TV). My biggest complaint is with the bathroom. The water pressure was terribly weak and would feel simultaneously too cool and hot due to the difference in pressure from the shower head. There was also a large hole in the glass wall. At first I thought it was cool because you were able to hang towels from there, but it was unpleasant to shower next to the hole because cold air would blow in. Hairdryer had good power and there was a plug-in vanity mirror with different light settings to check your makeup. Free instant coffee provided in the room, but no free water. No slippers or robes provided. The bed had a comfortable mattress pad but the sheets were not as soft as I would've liked, although still serviceable. There is no free parking on-site, only valet ($25) so I opted to park in a nearby public lot ($7 all day). The hotel is decent location-wise; you can take a trolley to Cannery Row or walk along the water past Fisherman's Wharf to get there.
Best customer service and impressive management willingness to accommodate customer. I had to cancel my 2 night reservation due to flight situations. Then flight situation improved but only needed one night. Staff not only kept my original discounted rate but gave me a room that was ready at check in and it's an upgrade. Staff convinced management to make these accommodations. Then gave me late check out without a fuss.
Great place at an amazing location. The food was amazing and ambiance was spot on. Parking is scarce unless you Valet so be careful following the hour time limit.
There's construction right outside our room. It's a bit noisy and no very relaxing. Not the hotels fault but still annoying nevertheless.

Traveling across country during covid with kids figured Marriott would be the surest bet. Location is very great but with ZERO amenities could have paid less for same. Friendly desk staff. Beware their "laundry machine" is in a closet with an ice machine and a coke machine. The ALL soap is free from the front desk but the closet is sweltering and from smell appears no one EVER cleans these machines. Gross. We are in one of the new rooms with faux wood floors and had to keep the air at 60 for it to feel cool at all. The sink is weirdly shallow you and the wall get soaked every time. We were informed at check in that due to social distancing our room wouldn't be serviced for THREE days. Ew. I am sure we are not the only ones with this feedback but had to come to google to share as the hotel website most recent review was from March! Was also greeted on day 2 by a creepy earwig bug. Awesome. Nice try Monterey Marriott but telling us to try uber eats/grub hub instead of providing list of alternatives since you aren't providing anything, not very warm and fuzzy. It's good for what it is but what could you do extra to make up for the covid restrictions and leave us feeling a Marriot stay? Rather like the brusque barista you provided weekend mornings only, mostly disappointing and over priced.
