Monterey Sheraton Hotel Review

Parking here is kind of a nightmare you can either park down the street two blocks away at a cost of 7 bucks or you can fork up the 24 dollars for valet parking. Every time u call for your car then return it's another 24 dollars. Don't be surprised if the valet asks if you are "going to be going in and out". God forbid u need your own car when you need it to get around town. Your car is basically incarcerated for the time u stay here you can get visitation privileges but it will cost you 24 more dollars.
Normal humans are not allowed in the underground hotel parking area. This place is ok but I will not never stay here again,aside from the lack of free parking there is something about this place feels eerie and lonely like there is something missing I can't really describe it. The whole place is also a bit of maze to navigate, the gym is ok, machines are ok, lighting in the weight room is harsh on morning eyes. The hotel is close to downtown which is great but the smokers mill around like junkies looking for an angry fix just outside the hotel entrance same for the corner sports bar entrance. My advise you can do better than this place I say go for the boutique hotels around town if u can find one that's nice.

The rooms could use an update. Staff is professional.

Great hotel ,perfect location , room are specious ..comfortable bed .staff nice and helpful plus love to sit in lobby with gorgeous relaxing decorations & right amount off light.

Service and location is awesome. Not a huge fan of the sinks separate from the bathroom.

Had a nice stay at the Monterey Marriott. Celebrating my spouse's birthday with a relaxing day of kayaking on the bay, dinner out and a relaxing weekend of sightseeing.

Horribly expensive for just a normal Marriott. Room was small and on the 2nd floor with no view whatsoever. $400 for a Sat night. Won't be back here, but there are other Marriott's that I really like.

Hotel staff were great. We had a room that had a weird beeping coming through the bathroom. We were relocated. Next room was fine but it was near the ice machine which is fine unless there is a group of high schoolers running in and out the hall. The room was also next to an employee service door that was constantly banging. 392 was the second room. Beautiful hotel and would stay again

Room was dated and on the small side for a full-service Marriott. Staff was very friendly, I enjoyed my night here.

Old, very old! Needs an update 20 years ago! I just can't believe that the Marriott chain accredited this one as a full hotel.

I just checked in and the lady at the front best was very kind and polite. She will have a conversation with you. The rooms r well maintained and very clean. Will recommend all my friends to go there

Great location. Located in historic old town and within close walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf. Also a short 5 minute drive to Cannery Row. Room was nice but the shower was pretty poor. Low water pressure and low heat. I'm tall so I had to crouch to fit under the shower head.

The hotel is perfectly located, adjacent to a number of fantastic restaurants and great breweries. We were a short walk from the beach. The staff were helpful, even letting us check in early. I would strongly recommend this Marriott to my friends.

Ok, I stay in Marriott hotels almost weekly. My wife and I checked in here (Marriott Monterey) and while it's not brand new, the hotel is great. That said, Lindsay, who took care of us at the front desk is EXCEPTIONAL! She found out that we are celebrating our 20yh wedding anniversary and went way above and beyond to make it special. She was not only super sweet and genuine but she had a bottle of champagne and some chocolates sent up as well. Lindsay, you made this Marriott experience FANTASTIC! THANK YOU!

Have stayed here many times over many years - the recent upgrades to rooms and restaurant are awesome - yet it remains familiar in many ways as well. Staff continue to be helpful and smiling. This hotel gets an additional star now....

Went to event in ballroom. Food served was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Staff was friendly

Unfortunately we booked not knowing a big party would go on until midnight. Rooms, so-so, screamer next door. Ugh.

I always stay at Marriot but this location has caused me a lot of distrust. Marriot Monterey is somewhere I have stayed at in past and have great expieriences but this I was greeted by Emily who made the trip a disaster. The hotel didn t have soap in the room or towels. She claimed that we took robs from the room when they were never placed in the room and charged my card. It s not even the money it s how unprofessional and mean she was to us. The customer services was very poor for Marriot somewhere I stay at regularly. I would stay away from this property.

As far as the location, you can't beat it. The customer service was on par with expectations. The rooms are outdated. We stayed here back in 2011, and I'm sure they hadn't been updated for 10 years since then as well. I don't even think you can buy TVs that old any more... also, in a day and age where internet access is practically a human right, I was disappointed having to pay $14.99 a day. As a frequent traveller, I've stayed at less prestigious establishments with faster wifi included; being a common experience for the better half of a decade. At this Marriott, only elite members get free access... like it's 1999 when wifi was a privilege only experienced by the upper crust of society. Marriott, the secret has been out for a while now. Motels, grocery stores, and even lowes offers wireless internet access as a complementary service to its patrons! I've included a picture of Chick-fil-a's wifi policy in case you don't believe me. Finally: You don't need to copy Hilton with the fruity water. Be unique. Be original.

The hotel and staff were always pleasant and professional. Rooms were clean, neat and orderly and really enjoyed the layout of the room with the larger counter space. Would have liked to have a microwave given that there was a mini fridge. Only true complaint was that the spa was filthy and frothy when jets were on which made our experience in the hot tub rather unpleasant and very quick. Otherwise a good trip for 2 nights.

Great service and attentive staff. Hotel room is top notch as with all Marriott's.

Rooms are nice and staff are friendly; unfortunately, the price doesn't include breakfast and parking is valet only $25/ day max rate - there's offsite parking, but it's a few blocks down. The shower has a hole in the glass so you can turn it on from outside the shower, but the water falls into the toilet area due to the size of the hole.

Great location, especially I loved the roof top area where we had breakfast and lunch every day of the conference.

The location is good but for that reason, it is very difficult to sleep all through the night because of the noise from outside. The noise is quite loud, even though all the windows are closed. Moreover, (because I m Asian maybe?) I was assigned a room right in front of the elevator on the second floor, and the noise of the people made me doubly painful all night. The room was disgusting because it smelled old and old, and it was uncomfortable because it didn't drain well in the shower. The hotel I don't want to come again.

Older property. Decent all in all but nothing special. Would rather stay at a lower tiered but newer construction. Location and staff are good though.

They charge full rates -- $250 a night! -- but th restaurant, coffee shop, gym, pool, and everything else is closed. The rooms are dusty because they are using this opportunity to renovate. The few staff they have left are surly and manipulative.

Save $200 bucks and go somewhere else for your pandemic getaway. Without the amenities, a Marriott is just a budget motel.

Nice rooms, close to the historical area and the bay. Within walking distance of Old Fisherman's Wharf. Cannery Row is about a mile away. Loved my stay and hope to return soon.
