Monterey Sheraton Hotel Review

So loud. Paper thin walls, rife with children screaming .
Terrible stay. Just terrible

Great location. Got the elite suite which was amazing. Nice pool complex. One of the better Marriotts I have stayed at.

I have visited this place for 15years now. The place is in serious need of updating. The lobby is nice, it has a great location, but the rooms and hallways are showing age. Nice penthouse service area for elite Marriott members; well stocked and a great view.

The top floor ballroom is the best view anywhere near alverado

Fantastic staff very accommodating and the Breakfast was exquisite.

Enjoyed it. Wasn't so into the band. They were good musicians, just not my style of music.

Wonderful location! Was visiting some friends. Poor parking though.

I highly recommend this hotel! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, pool, spa, great service, awesome decor, and the restaurant is awesome! Great for a family and a romantic weekend for a couple!

We are starting with the good things ... Located relatively well ... Clean rooms ... Friendly staff ... but a little neglected facilities ... a dirty pool and jacuzzi ... moderate food in the hotel restaurant (I ate breakfast and dinner) With stains and dust on various elements in the hotel restaurant just unpleasant ... can be easily improved ... Too bad

Nice hotel, currently undergoing renovations. Awesome location near fisherman's wharf. Nice breakfast buffet in top floor ballroom with a great view.

Incredibly polite staff who were most-welcoming. The good fare at breakfast was nice. I couldn't hear myself away from the eggs benne as it was delicious. Walking distance from quite a few nice restaurants and a 3min drive to the more touristy Cannery.

Very nice hotel! The remodeling to the lobby makes it look very clean and modern. The rooms are very nice as well.

The staff is kind, and very helpful, the rooms are clean and consistently maintained, and the view and access of appliances is extremely nice

The hotel lobby was under construction and I had to park 2 blocks away if I wanted to self park, but the room itself was nice.

The Marriott is very classy, and less than a five minute walk to the ward. I highly recommend it.

Quite possibly the most comfortable hotel bedding I have experienced. The rooms are very quiet and clean.

I am generally a Marriott fan, but when a hotel can t manage to get hot water to a guest room 3 mornings out of 4, you should probably consider closing off impacted rooms during your remodeling efforts. Polite we are so sorry s really doesn t do it. One star is for the lovely location. Recommend not coming here until remodeling is done.

We were under a mandatory evacuation order secondary to the River Fire of 2020 in Salinas. The hotel staff was extremely kind and compassionate. I was very impressed with the corporate culture of this facility. Everyone on the staff was helpful and friendly. This was our first venture away from home during COVID so we were a little leary. There was constant wiping down of common areas and hand sanitizer available at key locations. Because I am a local, I would have never needed to stay at a hotel in Monterey. If you are a visitor to our area I would highly recommend the Monterey Marriott Hotel. It is centrally located within short walking distance to restaurants and local attractions.

This was a nice hotel. But my main focus of this review needs to be one of the girls who works there named Emily.

This is my first outing with my step mom since she was diagnosed with ALS. It's been really difficult for her to get around because she needs to be either in a walker or a wheelchair.

one of her favorite places is the beach and she isn't able to go there anymore because her walker and wheelchair won't allow her.

when I went down to ask Emily if she knew of any places that rented beach wheelchairs she went above and beyond what I thought she was going to.

she started researching Google searching anything she could to try to find my step mom a beach wheelchair.

Unfortunately we weren't able to find one due to things being shut down for covetid. but I'll be forever grateful for Emily for trying to help. She even called later in the evening to ask if we were able to find one.

Amazing customer service from Emily. She made this trip a lot easier for us because she was so willing to help.

Nice updated lobby, good location and friendly staff. The rest of the hotel is a but dated, needs a serious makeover. Beds are comfortable but bathrooms are way to small if there's more than one person. Small nitpick but the tv's are more like computer monitors!

Positives-
Coffee and tea was provided in the room.
The bar had a nice selection of on tap beers and friendly bartender.
The king mattress was comfortable.
Location was close to the wharf.

Negatives-
There is valet parking only for $25 a day.
The duvet cover was only a partial or half cover, so this left the underside exposed if the sheet was not in the proper place.
There was a 8 inch hole in the glass shower door with a hand towel laying inside of it. Not sure what that was about.
The internet or WiFi was not free.
The crown moulding was coming apart at the seams or joints.
Room was old, needed updates.

Would I stay here again? No.

Monterey Marriott was nice. Excellent location.room was comfortable, although the air conditioner could have been a little bit more aggressive. Remodeled rooms are nice. I like that the carpet has been eliminated.

Staff we're taking the covid-19 precautions seriously. Staff were wearing masks.

This review is losing one-star because I stayed two weekends in a row.the first weekend, they charged me $27 per night for valet parking.the second weekend, I discovered that the self-parking, a city parking garage one block up, was completely free. No one mentioned that the first weekend. I don't like that I paid $27 per night for valet parking, requiring a valet parking attendant sit in my car, when I could have simply parked my own car for free.

Great hotel with central location in Monterey. We really enjoyed the stay and can recommended the breakfast buffet (you can order omelett).

The rooms were very nice. Wifi worked well. Employees where friendly and active.

Simply put, everything is perfect but wifi access. I paid money to access internet but the speed is only faster than bike.

I have never experienced better customer service anywhere. Every person that spoke to be was friendly and went out of their way to help. So great!

Location is great waking distance to fisherman's wharf, bars, Walgreens, and restaurants. We parked for on-site valet so that was $25, but saw an off-site garage nearby is $7. I had a comfortable sleep - enough for me to take apart the pillow and duvet cases to find out what brand they were. Utilized the hot tub and brought our own plastic glassware for drinks (glassware are not allowed). No complaints really.

very disappointed in the king suit for the price. The only thing that was ok the partial view.

As always with chains this was an ok experience. There was very good service from all the staff but the hotel itself is slightly lacking. There is no free parking and unless you are a member no free wifi within your room. We had a room that faced the pool area which we thought would be lovely. However the windows are not double glazed and so you are able to hear everything from the pool until it shuts at 10.00 PM

I'm actually still staying here, and I've spent 2 nights so far. I really like the layout of the room, the bed is very comfortable, nice shower, friendly staff, etc. Only downside is Wi-Fi is not free in the rooms (only free in lobby). Would come back.

Great room, close to pool although the water was a bit chilly. Front desk were friendly and gave little stuffed animals to my kids. Valet were polite and helpful. Room was clean, spacious, and organized.

No free bkfst. Convenient w clean rooms. Nice Apple cider on child evenings.

Definitely the quality you'd expect from a Marriott corporate hotel. If you're an Elite gold member, breakfast is free and it's actually worth the money you pay otherwise. Best hotel breakfast I've had. The gym is also very nice and well equiped for a hotel. There is not any free parking, realistically, so be ready for the valet fee.

Monterey Marriott is great, to put it simply. The internet is fast and easy to connect to, and the pool is a relaxing place, surrounded by the building to keep out the wind. The service went great, as the orders arrived quickly. O

Hotel is situated downtown close to many restaurants. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is friendly.

Our trip wasn't long but after one night in the hotel I wish we stayed longer

Spent a week here and the staff treated us well. There were a few baby seagulls that woke me each morning but I enjoyed it. Bartender made some good drinks!

The staff has been so helpful with runners staying for the marathon. The room was just big enough to share with another runner. Conviently located by bus pick up and expo.

The hotel is hard to miss. We pulled up and the valets immediately assisted us. We chose to valet the car which was $25/day with in and out privileges (there's a number you can call from your room to have your car brought around). We used Mobile check-in and the staff was friendly.

This was my first time visiting this hotel, I attended a social event in one of the rooms. The hotel in general is very pretty, nice and neat. All the people who work in the kitchen area were pretty helpful and nice.

Great location, but the hotel is kind of out dated. I lived in Monterey in 1991 and the hotel looks almost the same as it did back then. Staff was friendly and works hard to make sure you are happy!!!

Great view from from the 10th floor banquet room where our 50th class reunion was held. Helpful and friendly staff...nice dance floor...room wasnt crowded had 180 in attendance. Only down side...drinks were expensive.

Great location and great staff. Room was neat and tidy and clean and up-to-date. Really appreciated the ability to stream Netflix on the room's TV without any whack-a-doodle workarounds. Our room had a view of the bay which was wonderful at sunrise. Room service was quick and food was very good. You can buy tickets for the aquarium at the desk which is awesome!

The service was incredibly friendly. Rooms were beautiful with views of the bay. Perfect location in regards to fishermen's wharf.

The facility was fine. Food kind of "Meh". Wonderful housekeeping, bellmen and valet.

Very nice hotel. Desk staff was super courteous. Nicely maintained rooms ... Mine had a view of the bay, which was gorgeous. Bathrooms were spectacular.

Very nice for company partys meetings and the views of Monterey Bay from top floor is the best
