We moved our 4 children here from a public school system with an excellent reputation. We found HRA to be superior in all aspects and our children have flourished. 2 have graduated and gone on to college and 2 are currently still at HRA. Our children were given the opportunity to participate in sports (soccer, field hockey, basketball), academic and civic service clubs, and the arts. HRA strives to produce well rounded young adults ready for continued success in a diverse and nurturing environment. We couldn't be happier with the choice we made!

They encourage bullying and the administration doesn't admit they have a problem. Public school has better environment and curriculum. Being a student there was awful. The education there is sub par because they hire sports coaches as teachers and administrators. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

Both of my children graduated from Hampton Roads Academy. HRA's staff did an excellent job preparing them for college and beyond. I would highly recommend HRA to parents seeking the best possible education for their children.

I had great experiences at HRA. The environment was very inclusive and I felt academically prepared when I went to college.

As an HRA graduate, and a parent of a recent graduate and current student, I can honestly say that I have valued the entire education experience that my children and I have received at Hampton Roads Academy. HRA helps establish a great foundation for each student through a wonderful mix of academics, athletics, arts and community engagement. This foundation supports HRA graduates as they seamlessly transition into college and into their career paths.

As a graduate of Hampton Roads Academy, I treasure my memories and experience at this wonderful school. It is the superior choice for a private, college preparatory school on the Peninsula. Nothing else compares!

I went here from Kindergarden to 5th grade and I loved it except for a couple of students there. I really miss it there.

We are now entering our 7th year as HRA parents and have had great experiences on both the academic and social sides. Our kids have great friends (as do we) who strive to do well in class. The college counseling program is outstanding, as we are now seeing first-hand with our junior. It's well worth the commute from Williamsburg.

HRA has provided my children a complete education. Academically, they have had excellent teachers who work hard to make sure that their students master their subjects. In the classroom and on the athletics field, teachers, administrators and coaches have high standards of character and behavior for all students and work to develop the whole person. The importance of a strong community is evident in every area of the school. My children's choices and opportunities reflect the strong, positive impact of their experience at HRA.

I attended HRA from 6th-12th grade and loved it! I had been in public school before switching to HRA, so it was a change I was nervous about, but glad I made! Everyone, whether it be a student, teacher, faculty, or maintenance, was nice and went out of their way to see how everything is going. I was able to find my best friend group through the theatre program and we still get together every once in a while. The academics are more rigorous than other school's, but definitely prepared me more for college.

I made this other account to say that the locker room is literally the Juul room on steroids

I was disappointed after inquiring about a summer program for my children that was advertised would be held at this location. I contacted the appropriate person via their own website. She responded once but was vague and when i asked addional questions I was not even given a reply. It has been over a week. Unfortunately my kids will not be attending the program they were interested due to the lack of communication from the person designated to handle inquiries.

The staff at HRA has made the application and admission process a fantastic experience for our family. Their willingness to work with us and their strong curriculum made it very easy for us to decide it was the right choice for our child.

I went to Hampton Roads Academy from 6th to 12th grade. It definitely prepared me well for college. I am about to graduate with a B.S. in computer science and the foundation HRA gave me has been extremely helpful.

Excellent school! The teachers are all amazing. Their class rooms are small so the teachers can pay attention to all kid. And they are ALL friendly and sincere. We spend only 2 years there, but no complaints!!!
