I have been a Toyota customer for over 20 years and have purchased from many dealers. My recent experience at Mike Johnson Hickory Toyota was exceptional. The salesman Todd was courteous and professional. He had a great attitude and worked hard to get me a great deal on a new 2019 Sienna XLE. The process was quick and professional with all info and pricing accurate. Rarely do I refer friends and family to a car dealership , but in this case I definitely will promote Hickory Toyota and will be a future customer.

Purchased a new Highlander this past Friday. Our first encounter was with Steve Talley in the late afternoon who gave us great information about the vehicle on our first test drive. He was courteous, friendly and professional. When our decision was made to purchase the car we were connected with Nathaniel Holmes by phone who quickly and proficiently arranged the preliminary deal. Both of these men were respectful and very knowledgable in regard to their jobs and are a credit to this company and employer. Thanks to these men for a satisfying car buying experience. Mike Johnson has always been a highly respected name in this area. When I received a used 1995 Toyota Camry following the death of a dear aunt, it had a radiator leak. MJT was the first and only place I called. I received an estimate and it seemed fair so I made arrangements to drop the car off on Friday evening. I was told the part would not come in until probably Monday. Which was fine because I would be out of town until Thursday and I would pick it up then. So Friday evening, after hours, probably close to 8pm I dropped the car off and put the key in the drop slot. Before 8am the next morning, I received a call with a whole list of other issues the car had that needed to be fixed! (Less than 12 hours later). Because the car was given to me and because I had been laid off due to CoVid19, I told the service guy, Austin, to just not do anything. I would pick the car up and have to get the repairs at a later date. He proceeded to use some pressure techniques about get just this or just that done. I declined. He then asked about my credit and tried to convince me to get their credit line through Synchrony. I declined and said I d be there in just a couple of minutes to pick the car up. He then tried to tell me that the original repair off replacing the radiator had already been done which meant I d have to pay for it. I knew this was a LIE. But what he didn t know was I was closer than he thought. So within minutes I arrived. MAD. FUMING. I asked for him and told him I wanted the car. Miraculously in less than 5 minutes the OLD radiator was back in the car and it was pulled out front with no charge?! Now what would you think? I was being taken advantage of and manipulated. I was absolutely blown away. I would have never thought that MJT would operate in that manner. As I ve said, MJT is a big name in this area, but BEWARE. I never thought I d be treated that way.

I had a wonderful experience buying a truck at Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota!!!! Everyone was friendly and very professional!!!! I have to give one particular Salesperson my thanks for providing me an exceptional experience, Brenda Boggs!!! We truly became friends while doing business which is almost unheard of these days!!!!! Brenda was not pushy and helped me determine my options as a friend would help me!!!! On a scale of 1 to 10, Brenda is an 11!!!! She stayed in touch with me during the process but was never, ever other than completely honest and with a great sense of humor too.
Anyone who is considering buying a vehicle would be well advised to see Brenda Boggs at MJs Toyota. What a good person who is the antithesis of the common concept of a car salesperson!!!!! Both my elderly mom and I were treated with dignity and Brenda's wonderful sense of humor!!!!

Without an appointment qwas taken straight to the entrance for my car's service. They sent me to the waiting room after getting my vin and car keys. Fresh coffee, popcorn and HGTV on their tv screens. Done within the hour. Very friendly with service done and payment done right then while I waited. Information sticker on my drivers side for when due next time with the mileage , along with their phone number and Toll Free number. Along with "THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS "

My salesman Eddie Pressley was both friendly and knowledgeable and at no time did I feel pressured to purchase vehicle. My purchase was completed within one hour and they found vehicle from another location and had it there for me next day detailed and ready for pick up. Before going to the dealership I called and was set up with Jordan Mooneyham on the phone. 1st. off, right away he listened to what my concerns were & what my families needs were. Less than an hour later, I ended up at the dealership & Jordan met me at the door. He took his time and was extremely patient showing myself and my one & half year old daughter around. He showed me options to stay within my budget, or at least a payment I could live with. I ended up driving off the lot with my Toyota Rav4! I am very happy with the experience I had today. They ended up giving me more for my trade in than Carmax offered and this dealership has more options when it came to who would/could finance my new car. It also helped they have a play area for small children, we were there for several hours (like you would be with any car dealership you go to) but not one time did my daughter get bored. Helps they have a small cafe inside. All in all, read these reviews but in the end, go visit this dealership and make your own decision. Don't let someone else's experience stop you from what could possibly be a great experience for you. I explored other dealerships but I ended up with the best deal at Mike Johnson's in Hickory. Here it is 2021 and I am buying another car at Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota. My experience today went just as great if not better than the first. Even though I have been thinking about trading my Rav 4 in for a newer model, I didn't plan on doing it today. I just went on a whim to look around.
Norm was excellent, very laid back. He showed me around and after narrowing it down to two Rav 4's Justin stepped in and started crunching numbers. I left there with a brand new 2021 Premium Rav 4. Norm and Justin did an awesome job. I couldn't be happier.
Ladies, don't ever worry about coming here alone. They will respect you and do their best to make things work.

Last month my boyfriend...Mark Scarbrough...decided he was ready for a new car. He had been interested in the 2013 Rav4 for quite some time. We stopped by Mike Johnson's dealership on a Sat. evening after close of business just to take a look....the following Monday he took a test drive and he was hooked! The salesman....Eddie Pressley...was great to work with....he found the exact model Mark was looking for and had the car delivered from Myrtle Beach, SC. We had the car the following Wed. or Thurs.....it was gorgeous and exactly what Mark wanted. Eddie took care of everything.....the paperwork was a breeze......and we were out the door in about an hour.....virtually pain free! haha When I decide I need a new car.....I will definitely give Eddie a call!! Everyone at Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota was very nice and made the whole experience as easy as could be.....

We recently had to have a wiring harness replaced due to rodent damage. My insurance company and their independent appraiser put up all sorts or roadblocks to delay, but the service manager I worked with at this dealer helped us at every turn, providing what was asked for, keeping me informed and returning my emails and calls. I can't say enough good things about their support and cooperation in getting the insurance company everything they needed to pay the claim. They even worked after hours to complete the repair to make it more convenient for me to pick it up since I live an hour away. I would highly recommend this service department based on my experience and would make this my first stop when I look to buy another Toyota. Well done!

Best experience ever!!! Brenda listened to my needs and wants then made a magical deal for not one but TWO new cars! She was kind and helpful. She was concise with details of what she needed. Most of the deal was worked out from the comfort of my home. The final touches at the dealership went smooth and fast. The manager sat me down with a friendly sales person who was respectful and told him to take good care of us and he did. He listened to my concerns and what i was looking for, and they gave me a great deal with a few added amenities that i didnt even have to ask for. There was no haggling needed, asthe price was a great deal. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and already have to several friends and family.

Normally, I d never leave feedback unless I feel a particular way about a business or person. Cody Kelsoe definitely IS THE KEY REPRESENTATION OF MIKE JOHNSON TOYOTA! Am I yelling!? I m only expressing my satisfaction with my recent service. Cody has been nothing less of patient and extraordinary with my Tacoma! Granted, it s not a visually pleasing vehicle but he cared for it as if it were a Mercedes. Great communication followed by an excellent service! Two of the rarest traits you ll find at any establishment and/or dealership. If Mike Johnson or some other big wig just so happen to read this review, I got 5 words for you: GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE! I gotta work on my yelling a bit yeah? Nonetheless, a lot of businesses goes astray following some sort of quota or chasing some farfetched idea to push sales/services. How quickly they forget that people like Cody makes up the business and it s withstanding. Thank you Cody and you re more than welcome to the cookouts my friend!

I ve been here 15 mins, it s now 3:51pm. She has gone to her office didn t speak, came out spoke to customer across from but didn t speak. Derrek Avery took good care of me when purchasing my new Tacoma. He was very kind and not overly pushy. We finally agreed on a price and a deal was made on a truck that did NOT include a tonneau cover for the bed (which was fine with me). I was told my truck would be delivered in about 2 weeks. A day or two later I received a call, I think from a sales manager, can't remember a name, but was told that if I wanted to wait a few more days for a truck, I could have one with 0 miles on it, and it would have a tonneau cover. Due to the fact it had 0 miles and a tonneau cover, I agreed to wait. When my truck was finally delivered, there was no tonneau cover, which wasn't originally negotiated with Derrek, but WAS a feature I was told on the phone the other truck would have and that's why I chose to go with that one. I told Derrek this, and when he asked his manager about it, I was called a liar (not to my face, but I could hear him being yelled at across the room I was sitting in) So I ended up not trying to fight for the tonneau cover. It wasn't Derrek Avery's fault. It wasn't in our original negotiations. BUT...in my opinion, he shouldn't have been yelled at, and I ESPECIALLY don't like being called a liar....EVER ( again, he wasn't calling me a liar to my face, I overheard my salesman being yelled at across the room). If I could remember the gentleman's name that was doing the yelling, I would drop his name here in a heartbeat so that you could all try and avoid him if you purchased through this dealership. The service department at my first 5,000 mile service was smooth, and fast. Trevor took good care of me. The facilities seem pretty nice. They have a cafe that I saw employees getting food and coffee from. I'm not sure if this is a perk for customers or not though. Buy here with confidence, but be wary of being promised things over the phone. Get them in writing.

We came in for ONLY an alignment on the car. Had an appointment at 11:20am and wasn't informed how ridiculously long they're going to take. Waited for almost 4 hours!!! Toyota employees could've at least mention about the waiting time to me and rest of the customers. I would've went home to eat, sleep, wait in line at the DMV, travel half way across the world be back and maybe they might be done or not.

My wife and I had bought a ticket to a performance at LR University. On the back of this ticket was a coupon for a free oil change with Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota. Since I do all of the PM on our vehicles (brakes, belts, fluids, oil, etc.) I figured, "sure...why not." I am reluctant to take my vehicle to ANY repair shop because for some strange reason, something always goes wrong which is going to cost me more money. Having said that, I was reluctant to bring my wife's vehicle in for an oil change. But I did. Regret doing it. First off, I know I was a few weeks away from doing the brakes. Nothing was wrong with them. It was just time. Possible rotor change out. But it was a still a few weeks out like I said. So my wife and I are waiting in the waiting area. service guy comes up and asks me to follow him. Here we go...I figure "okay here comes the sales pitch." So I told the guy, "Im only here for an oil change." He says "I know but I need to show you something." So we get back to where they have they have the car up in the air. Now correct me if I am wrong, but since when do you need to take the tires off to change the oil?? I asked for the oil change. THATS IT!!!! I didnt ask for the safety inspection. So he tells me that I needed brakes. I told him I know. He showed me the rotors...said they should be changed. I said I know. At this point I was pissy! O-I-L C-H-A-N-G-E. SO, here is where my philosophy on NOT trusting any service center is verified. We get the car back, paperwork done, I get the key, pull out on to HWY 70 and wouldnt you know it? My brakes are squeeling. HOW ABOUT THAT! They pulled the squeeler pin on the pads to prematurely start squeeling. OK, fine. You guys played me with your games. So I get the stuff to change the brakes. I go to take the tire off with my tire iron. Huh....I cant get them off. Im thinking to myself "boy they sure are tight." I am a 330 lb 6'3" guy. I can take off a lug. Been doing it for years. So I stand on my tire iron to break it loose. Nothing. I am standing on my tire iron and the damn things still wont come undone. After fighting with them I was finally able to get them off. I bent my effing tire iron in the process. Those lugs should not have been on there that tight. They were done like that on purpose. I'll NEVER step foot on that property EVER again. Ive been working on my own cars for the better part of 35 years and ALL of my cars have lasted well over 200k miles. This crap is downright dirty to get me to either come back so they can fix what they effed up, or done it out of spite. Never again. You guys SUCK!

Very disappointed in the service I received when purchasing a new vehicle here. Their management is unprofessional and rude. Even when you set appointments the process to purchase a car is unnecessarily long. They don't value your sale enough to see it through - the sales people pass it along to someone else to do the paperwork. Finance was condescending and would only talk to the person I brought along with me when he was not the one purchasing the vehicle. Many problems with a brand new vehicle are going unresolved, and I do not feel like they value my business at all. Might want to consider other dealership options that will better appreciate you as a paying customer!
