Love this local tea shop. Has a ton of loose teas - which is difficult to come across in nyc. Love how it s right in my neighborhood. Super nice and helpful, too. They also have tea leaves I haven t been able to locate elsewhere (spearmint, etc).

Update 12/17 - I've been a customer for probably 25 years, and they never cease to amaze. With NYC in the condition it's in, I ordered online yesterday afternoon.. The order was delivered this morning. Granted, I'm in Westchester, but next day . . . that is some speedy service. Thank you!

Heaven for tea and coffee lovers. Dizzying number of choices. Love their custom blend coffees - special mocha java and McNulty's especially. Friendly guys - David, Wing, and Tom especially. But the coming generation, too. Like going back in time to be in their shop

This was one of the best coffee shops I've been to & I am from So.Cal would definitely come again if I was in the area. I got the birthday cake latte & they even wrote my name as latte art. It was busy but not packed and our food and drinks were out pretty fast.

A very homely little shop, everything they have is very authentic and they have a ton of choices I haven't seen anywhere else. Their prices are extremely fair, and the workers are very polite, and helped picked out a tea for somebody based off of their preferences.

McNulty's is absolutely amazing. It's an old fashioned sytle coffee shop that feels incredible to walk into, they have a HUGE selection of coffee and loose teas sold by weight, as little or as much as you want. They grind your coffee right there and have a great selection of tea already in bags. I am currently living in Boston and this is one of the places I miss most in NYC!

My absolute go-to for bulk buying teas from around the world. Since there are so many variations to choose from, what's best is that the teas are in large glass jars, allowing you to look and smell at your leisure before committing. The owners are the nicest ever, and I love the old-timey scale and packaging equipment used. Service with a genuine smile!

This place was so nice! Reasonably priced and affordable teas and the staff was very friendly. They have all the different types of tea in jars so you can smell them and use that to pick if you don't know what you want. The Earl Grey blend is wonderful!

The coffee is pretty good, but the biggest draw is the inviting space. Whether you're here alone or with a group of friends (or a study group), there's something for everyone, from cozy couches in the back room to tables on a beautiful shaded patio.

Great place to go for some good coffee, sweets and do business deals. Very friendly, polite, and efficient staff was admirable. I am deeply impressed by how they handled the service correctly with no hassles at all. The affordable pricing of their dessert was incredible! Their cakes were perfect for sweets craving. "5 stars!

From the front desk, Lea quickly addressed my inquiries. She never fails me on my high expectations. My orders were on time and I was also charged with a fair price. Thank you so much for the awe-inspiring service from the beginning until the end. Cheers to more customers in the future. Such an amazing service! I will surely come back!

A great family own and operated shop. This place will make you fall in love with New York all over again. Oh, you better love coffee before moving here. If you don't, expect plenty of side eye and prepare to have all your opinions dismissed.

Not to fret, this long time shop will help you on your way to becoming a proud continence coffee lover. You must have this brown liquid pumping through your veins all day, everyday, especially, if you want to survive this town with any resemblance of your former sanity intact.

I come here for the smell. If you see me here standing with my eyes closed and breathing deeply, do not interrupt me. I will Mick Jagger you. And don't even ask me what that means.

Love this tea shop. They have everything you could ever want in a tea and coffee store. It smells amazing and it feels like stepping back in time when you go inside. The prices are really good for the quality of the tea. I haven't tried the coffee actually but my guess is it's just as fine as the tea.

I have loved their coffee for decades. Rather disappointed today when, having spent more on shipping than the cost of 1lb of chocolate covered expresso beans, they arrived as a melted slab of chocolate. Their response when I called to ask about UPS was, we normally don't ship that stuff during the summer.... Thanks for warning me!

Like stepping into the past. The small shop has to be experienced. We were helped by the owner and made to feel like we were old customers. The coffee was tremendous and though we don't live near enough to frequent, we will be buying over the web. This is a dry goods store, they do not sell prepared coffee or tea.

McNulty's is a little slice of old New York. It's a hole in the wall with the most extensive selection of teas and coffees in New York. Besides the extensive selection their knowledgeable and friendly staff are happy to answer questions.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got a chance to! It's a bit out of the way for me but definitely worth the trip. The cafe's a great place to either sit and chat with friends or study. There's a decent amount of tables and seats but limited amount of plugs. Some of the tables have "no laptop" signs, so there's an even amount of people who are hanging out with friends and people who are studying.

It's not a far cry to say it's one of my favorite coffees in the city. Beans are great ( Temple ) & truth be told, I'm addicted to their butterscotch latte - 1/2 sweet, with almond milk, and every time - they deliver with a smile. All of them, which is a f'in rarity these days. The coffee isn't the only thing that's warm here :) I just moved closer to the neighborhood and couldn't be happier to start my mornings/kick start my afternoons with one of their bevs.

It is always a pleasure to shop at this store. Such huge variety of coffees and teas. I have been shopping for my Celebes Kalossi for about 15 years now. The employees have great knowledge on their products. Such a rare quality these days. Thanks.

Lovely, traditional coffee and tea show in lower manhattan. The smells in there are amazing. I walked away with some of their house roast (a combo of two beans), and a colombian. Both excellent, and good prices as well!

McNaulty's has by far the best tea selection I've come across. They weigh it out, and sell it by the quarter pound. Most are loose leaf selections with some bagged tea selections. The loose leaf selections are broad and includes a lot of my hard to find teas from my time living in China. Run by a Chinese father and son, and all other staff is helpful and makes suggestions of things to try if you want, per your regular purchases. Good coffee selection too, however I tend to go for their teas.

I drink A LOT of tea. I'm talking at least eight cups a day. I knew when I came home to visit, I needed tea and so I decided to check this place out since it was close to where I was staying. I'm trying not to be too provincial about my rating, because it's clear to me that New Yorkers pay a lot more for fresh loose leaf than I'm accustomed to paying in other parts of the country. But when you get past that part, it's a nice enough place with a large selection of teas. The system is somewhat inefficient. You come in, there's a long line (when I came in) and then someone goes to fetch your tea for you once it's your turn to order. It's efficient in a sense and everyone is polite enough, but it's a bit clunky if you've been to any other kind of tea store in a (less populated) different place.

So I guess the verdict is, it's nice enough. But a bit on the pricey side and if you're a newcomer to loose-leaf tea looking for a selection, this is probably not the first place I'd recommend because it's daunting and not especially inviting. But for my purposes, it got the job done. Especially if you need loose-leaf tea and are staying in Jersey, because it's literally a block from the PATH. (There's also Indian and Thai across the street. An extra treat!)

It's like taking a step back in time before cvs and citibank were on every block. This place is small and may as well be magic. Heck they may sell magic wands and potions in the back. I grabbed two of the house made teas and it's kind of nuts that I actually saved money vs getting a box of mass produced tea in a store. Overall great place and great service. They let me roam around while I was deciding and made a great recommendation as well when I was ready to get something. They also sell coffee which I didnt need at the time but may go back in to try.

Haven't had a chance to try the teas yet but I must already give 5 stars just for how kind and friendly the staff are. I had an entire list and everything was available. The prices are reasonable. Also can I just bottle up the amazing aroma in the shop? I'll definitely come back.

Every morning, I drop by at this coffee shop to buy a coffee. I really their coffee very much because it's freshly brewed and each morning they had freshly baked pie which I love the most. If I happen to be on this side of the hill, this where I like to spend my mornings with a paring of a few cups of fine brewed coffee and doobs, with my laptop open feeling the AM vibes! Shout to Shaggy for putting me on!

This place was so good! Just loved the coffee and the atmosphere. Was a wonderful time and no matter what time of day you go, there is always a fine selection of things to eat and the wait staff are always polite and courteous.

I will definitely come back. If you do go, no matter what coffee you order will be delicious.

Don't believe the review on here that says 'free WIFI and good pastries;' this is not a coffee shop at which you consume products. They sell beans and loose tea. And for that, they are PERFECT. Extensive selection, top quality, just a wonderful local business. Hibiscus 4ever.

Came here to try out the coffee since I heard the place was good. I tried the mocha with chilli and it was great. It had a nice spicy tang that wasn't overly spicy. The place is quite nice too. I was able to find sitting which was nice because I came at a relatively busy time. The barista was also helpful with recommendations. I would definitely return.

Amazing little tea and coffee shop with all kinds of rare and hard-to-find varieties. Prices are higher than what you'd see at a grocery store but not outrageous at all. Also, the quality is out of this world, the staff very friendly and knowledgeable, and the selection is wide enough for everyone to find something. The smells alone from walking into the shop will convince you to shop nowhere else.

It's a cozy space to meet up with a friend or do some work on your laptop. I got two large Catchall which is a match latte. I liked that it wasn't too sweet but also had a lot of match in it.

Wifi is available and they have a frequent reward stamp card.
