McCarthy Chevrolet Review

We had been looking for a car for our 16 year old daughter for months now but could not decide on getting a new or used car or one she liked. Kade was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and our daughter thought he was very cool and she finally picked a car she liked that was up to our expectations.

I was not expecting to purchase a car on my weekend family visit to KC. But Ivan at McCarthy Chevrolet was so friendly and helpful that I ended up purchasing a used vehicle for my son. The actual paperwork was completed in less than 2 hours and I was quickly on the road home 7 hours away. Good experience.

Very friendly and honest people. Their sales team does a great job of being honest and not pushy. With car buying, you just want people to understand your situation and not tell you what others usually do. You will get a listening team here that will hear you out, be open, and work with you to meet your needs. Hopefully this review helps someone else who would rather ride a bike than buy a car to avoid the hassle. They helped restore my faith in the car buying process.

We recently bought a really great diesel Chevy pu from McCarthy Chevrolet in Olathe..in fact the day b4 Xmas..the team we worked with was Jamie and Anthony in sales...and Jake was our finance guy...now i work for the usps and had just pulled an almost 14 hour day that day and not really up for the normal be there all day car loan experience..and it must have shown because Jamie and Anthony were phenomenal...Anthony was a speed demon with the preloan paperwork..so that when we were turned over to Jake in finance the kicked up into high gear experience just continued..i bet being completely honest from beginning to end we were only there maybe 3 hours..and the nite before Christmas..who does that i ask ya..no one but McCarthy Chevrolet that's who...this is not our first vehicle through McCarthy...no faaar from it..but without a doubt our first with the fine..well oiled and fine tuned team of Jamie..Anthony..and Jake..thanks guys..oh and don't u worry Michael will be dropping off some homemade cookies just like i promised..so do yourselves a great favor..if u need a new or used vehicle take yourselves to McCarthy in Olathe or now in Lawrence and let Jamie...Anthony..and Jake put you in an awesome ride...thanks again guys..Mike luvs his new truck...and as always McCarthy Chevrolet went out of their way to put us in the vehicle we wanted and could afford with that no pressure..low pressure sales team that all buyers appreciate...

First, I will start off with a HUGE shout out to Jake. Second, if it wasn t for this man, probably wouldn t have returned. This dealership really did me wrong back in 2018, much like other people seemed to have pretty bad experiences. I was head strung on not returning. Ventured out again in the car shopping world trying to see what I could get as better family vehicles. I was all over the place on what I wanted. Each time, they still took the time to listen to what I wanted and tried to find other ways to make vehicles work. After about a week of not returning, I did a complete 180 and changed what I wanted to the complete opposite of what I was originally going for. Jake managed to fit the bill on EXACTLY what I was looking for. Never treated me like a number, and instead treated me like I was an actual person. I don t normally believe in second chances, but they redeemed themselves pretty well! :)

Tyler Bradley was very pleasant to talk to and not pushy at all. My wife and I felt relaxed about the entire process. Kade Cossey was my sales person. This guy was great. Let me tell you. He took initiative, was responsive, and just a good guy. I was nearing the end of my lease and hadn't decided what I was going to do yet. He did not pressure me into anything, but did supply me with my options.

I no longer live next to the dealership. This guy willingly drove all the way into MO to take my paperwork to me. So I didn't have the inconvenience of driving out to olathe. I've had all great experiences with Mccarthy Chevrolet and Kade was no different. He made the experience stress free and even got me a good interest rate I wanted.

The wait was extremely long just for an oil change. After waiting over an hour I got up to check, and I saw em park the car, so I thought they would be in any second with the bill, so I waited and waited for about 20 minutes longer. The service rep said that they added washer fluid. Great....now it doesn't work at all. So do I bring it back in and tell you or will you charge me and tell me that it was a preexisting situation. I don't know who to trust.

I got ahold of McCarthy through cargurus and had a great experience. They were pressure free and worked with me to make this a smooth experience. All in all I spent about 3 hours picking up my car and they made me and my family feel right at home and got us in and out.

Bought a brand new 2015 Malibu almost 2 years ago. At the time of purchase I gave the vehicle a one over. I noted the car doesn't have a spare tire. I asked about this. No worries you have Roadside assistance. Today... apparently my tire was punctured driving the roads... flat. Tried to schedule a tire change with Roadside assistance... no spare got to tow it to the dealer. It's my only means of transportation. Cut to the chase.... even though Chevrolet decides not to put a spare in the vehicle (apparently for fuel mileage reasons) they deem this not their issue as to being undrivable so no courtesy vehicle is covered. Really? Really? I have no drivable vehicle. If there was a spare... I'd put it on until I can get an appointment SOMEWHERE. Nothing available locally today. Dealership shop... can't get there on a flat. So I'm screwed! Moral to the story... no matter what insist on a spare. I should have known better. I purchased 3 vehicles there.... I don't think I'll be driving Chevy anymore.

We purchased a car here on 5/10/2016. It was a wonderful experience. We came to the lot discouraged and a bit unsure that we'd be able to afford a car. Terry Foglesong worked tirelessly to make sure we had 1) a great car 2) the car we wanted and 3) a deal we were comfortable with. He was upfront and honest and was very clear about what could work for us and for them. This was as enjoyable an experience buying a car could be.

The staff at McCarthy were friendly and courteous and Mark helped us to find exactly the car we wanted at the price we wanted to pay. Mark didn't try to sell us what he had on inventory like some dealers do but looked for what we wanted and at the price we wanted to pay. He also went the extra mile to explain the features of the car so we knew how to use them before we left the dealership. I had dealt with Mark once before and asked for him again and will ask for Mark next time we look for a car.

Bought a used vehicle that the used sales manger and salesman stood behind the 12 point GMC inspection only to find out an item that claimed to pass inspection did not function when used for the first time. The heat did not work on the drivers side, only cold air blew when set to heat, so I reviewed to inspection and it said it was tested and passed. When I contacted them within 30 days of purchase, the answer I received was once it is inspected it is sold "as is." Now they are not standing behind their 12 point wonderful inspection that there is an issue. It has been diagnosed as a blender door issue which is a $700 fix, all to have the heat function work as it was sold to me as. I called and left a message for the salesman after he left a message for me saying we bought it as is, but have never received a call back when I questioned their inspection process and asked what they were going to do. Not good business! If buying a used vehicle don't go here because they will not stand behind their inspection which they were adamant about being acceptable when we informed them the water pump was going out and the vehicle makes a thump when shifting from neutral to reverse, there response was "it passed our 12 point GMC inspection and the water pump is within working condition." We negotiated price to reflect some of the cost for these issues, but its sad when a highly recognized auto group won't stand behind their inspection and make a vehicle right. Buyer beware!

UPDATE: I did talk with Karl Kramer the communications manager who responded to my post below, and spoke with him about my concerns who assure me he would look into it and get back with me about it. Here we are 3 weeks later and no update or response from him...just goes to show that customer satisfaction is truly not a priority, just a smoke screen.
Be sure if you do look into buying a used vehicle from McCarthy that you make sure every little thing on their so called 12 point inspection is accurate since they only stand behind it when it benefits them.

Heath McCroy is the best salesman there he might as well own the place. Go see that man
