The adoption facility is nice and fairly new, with lots of animals waiting for homes. They even have a program for flying pets to the mainland. Everything is clean, and the staff is very nice. When my dog passed away and I had to have her cremated (they operate the only pet crematorium on St Thomas), they were respectful and sympathetic. They also operate the best thrift store on the island, with everything from clothing and household goods to a huge selection of books. It's worth a stop in if you're looking for a cheap swim cover-up or something to read at the beach.

A great contribution to the island and our Care for Animals. Virgin Islands government doesn't have an official animal care facilities. The Humane Society is funded by the government to provide these services

Dedicated staff and volunteers provide animal services to the best of their abilities given limited resources.

We adopted sweet Tallulah from St. Thomas Humane Society after hearing about their very busy shelter and the Pets With Wings program. She flew to Boston and we picked her up from the volunteer transporter. The Kitty Coordinator was very helpful and helped us to select a cat with a playful and curious personality that would be good with our kids. We are thrilled and completely in love!

I volunteer there several days a week. I have been very impressed with the staff who are extremely caring, keep the place in major order, and care for the animals extremely well. Monica, Nicky, Phyllis and Rhea amoung many others, are amazing at what they do.
The animals are very well cared for and I highly recommend considering the ST HS for adopting your next pet.

Friendly staff quick service and they give coupons to fix ur pet for 15 dollars at any animal clinic or hospital.

If you need a spatula and dont want to pay $19.99 this is the spot. Great for cheap souvenirs and helps the coconut hounds

On vacation and ran out of something to read (book store). It was a bit hard to find it, but, worth the trip

The best 1st experience I've had. And I'm not a cat and dog fan. But after this 1st time visit and being this close to them, I was impressed...What they do is remarkable. It's love and a respect for the animals. Please adopt, donate your books, clothes, your time. What's so impressive, they serve all of USA for pet adoption. So amazing.

Best experience EVER! We volunteered to walk puppies and dogs while on vacation. We ended up spending two days, the dogs are so cute and loving! They provide excellent care, clean facility and we saw several get adopted.

I love this facility! The volunteers were extremely friendly and took time to help us. All the animals were so sweet and well-loved! I would definitely work/volunteer here if I lived in St. Thomas. They do need volunteers. Overall we loved the experience!!

Thank God the road is finally fixed. People doing good for our great island. Good buys. Book store too!.

They want to get rid of animals but charge over 100 dollars to adopt and service fee extra

People are so generous and loving, giving of there time and some really great stuff cheap.
And I saw the cutest little dogs, but couldn't take them.
And really, really great people giving there time.
It was fabulous.

This is the most awesome Thrifty store you could ever imagine. Very clean. A few stray cats helping out. So many wonderful treasures. Great clothes at cheap prices. And if you dont see what you want ask. Just ask and they might have it. Love my pillow. Advise from a Moose.

Very friendly staff doing incredible work every day. If I'm reincarnated as a dog, I want these people to take care of me for at least one week so I know what it's like to be truly loved. They set the bar for humanitarian animal rescue.

I have a soft spot for needy animals. I just can't stand it of how people on this island treat their pets. Pets are part of your family, and unfortunately in St. Thomas many people see dogs and cats as a way to make money through breeding, something to torture that can't fight back or they just neglect them. This is also a very difficult housing market to convince landlords to accept pets.

So all of this means that this organization has its work cut out for them. I've volunteered here as well as fostered and adopted from these folks and it is a small group of people that do amazing things with so little.

All of the funding to do these kinds of things are through donations and a thrift store they run at the front of their campus that has been inundated with donations after the hurricanes. So if you are unable to volunteer or foster, you can support this non-profit by shopping!

If you're traveling here here consider taking a dog or cat back as check in luggage or a carry on through the pets with wings program that finds travelers going to the states where rescues have partnered with the st. Thomas humane society to find their adoptable animals forever homes. There is no cost to the traveler and the rescue will meet you at the airport to pickup the animal.

A society is judged by the way they treat their animals. St. Thomas has a long way to go but the humane society and its team of volunteers is a wonderful hope that it can get better here.

The humane society is wonderful. However the store next door, the clerk was quite rude. She scolded me for trying to open the door. I decided not to give her my business because she was so harsh. It is known as the flea market

I love their little resale shop! Please consider donating good, clean reusable items to them...

Never got back on weather they picked a Abounded dog

We adopted a pup through the pets with wings program. Her liter was found in a dumpster but they were well taken care of by the human society. I recommend anyone who can adopted a pet or help transport a pet. They are well loved and taken care of there but there is no place like a home and they are pretty full up. Ria and the staff here at the Human Society work so hard to try and save as many animals from the streets of the island as they can, but that cannot happen unless people step up to help save these animals. Great place, great staff! Guys keeps up your good and hard work.
