Per Kenneth Gillihan: Called Ken Archambeau to make an appointment for Thursday at 8:00 am. Dropped my truck off and spoke to Ken about getting the Oil Changed and Transmission Serviced. Had a friend stop by McCarthy to pick me up and we went to Breakfast. Came back, my truck was ready, paid for it and left. When I got home, Ken called to see how things went, because he MISSED me at the Dealership. Every time I come to have McCarthy Chevrolet Service our vehicles, it has been a Good Time. I purchased a used 2012 VW Beetle from them in 2015 w/ an extended warranty. I've been in for a few claims and the team has taken care of me. Scott Essex does a great job of making me feel welcome. It's nice to know that the dealer didn't sell me a car and forget about me.

Great service !!! Came a couple days ago and worked with Tyler and he was awesome. Took a bit and looked around at other dealerships and couldn t find the level of service I received from Tyler and his manager Tim. Came in and bought the car not just because I like the car but I loved the level of service I received from the dealership. I absolutely recommend coming in and working with Tyler and Tim both are straight shooters and take care of their customers.

I've had better service and professionalism from other dealerships. The salesman even "forgot" my keys with the Sales Manager and in a roundabout way wouldn't give them to me. I ended up purchasing
purchased my car and drove it off the lot on 07/01/16 but was told that I would have to bring it back on 07/05/16 to have it serviced for a recall. (My understanding is that it is highly illegal for a dealership to sell you a car with a known recall that hasn't been serviced.) I ended up taking my car back and received a rental car from them (in which that was an issue). They gave me a car that wasn't checked in from the previous user and had trash in it and had a strong tobacco odor (which is a huge deal since I have a severe allergies and eczema.) I told them my concern but they told me it was the only vehicle they had. I get my vehicle back and go and get it licensed to come and find out that the dealership did not fill out their paperwork correctly. I called McCarthy and they wanted me to take a day off work to go pick up the correct paperwork and take it to the DMV. I told McCarthy that this is their screwup and that I'm not wasting a personal day at work to go and correct their mistake. They ended up mailing it over to the DMV. I highly recommend that if you are looking to buy a car you look elsewhere.

I have always had great experiences at McCarthy Chevrolet! Every individual I have come in contact with at McCarthy, whether it's one of the ladies helping me schedule an oil change or one of the service advisors helping answer my questions, has been friendly and helpful. They definitely make you feel like you're part of the family while you're there! I recently took my car in for some regular maintenance and had to bring it back for a follow up and Scott got my car in right away. Heath McRoy, best salesman I ve ever dealt with, hands down. I live about 85 miles from the dealership and Heath made sure to keep me informed on how things were proceeding. They had a truck on the lot that I went and looked at but it did not have the tow mirrors like I was wanting. Instead of trying to sell me something different, they actually searched and found the truck I wanted...in OKLAHOMA! They even paid to have it shipped to their lot overnight and didn t charge me a dime! The whole buying experience was easy and the whole team at McCarthy went way over what I was expecting. Don t doubt for one second that this dealership isn t legit. Best buying experience I have ever had and my new go to place for vehicles. If you re reading these reviews then your questioning if you should pay McCarthy a visit or not. Go! Guarantee you ll be glad you did. Oh, and by the way, ask for Heath...he s the man!

Lil Chris was a fantastic person who helped me out immensely when purchasing my first car. He even went pass the extra mile to help me get my car and make sure I was completely satisfied with everything. For that and for being so patient and kind with me is definitely a reason I'll be recommending him to anyone who needs help purchasing a car.

My experience at McCarthy Chevrolet Olathe started with Ulysses helping show is some Colorado's and taking is around on a golf cart. No pressure, very professional.

Next visit was with his mentor Ruben Ontiveros. Again no pressure. Just good solid advice and down to earth conversations about the different trim models and pricing.

About a month later, I was back in town and saw them both. My the end of the day, they helped me select a great truck. Worked well with me from start to finish. Next time I'm buying a car, they will be my first stop again!

McCarthy... Your service is slipping!

I have purchased my last three vehicles from McCarthy, Two new and one used at one year old. I have used them as my 'go to' dealership for almost 15 years. I have recommended them to friends and family and never had any complaints until this last trip through the service department. To be fair, my vehicle was repaired correctly and under warranty. What upset me, is that I know the service writer lied to me on my initial phone call to the department. Since I have been a customer for so long, I am familiar with the guidelines for when they will and won't provide a courtesy car when they have one's car in for service. In the past they have provided a loaner, if one was available and if they were going to keep a car for more than one day.
This time I was told that even though they would need to keep my car a minimum of two days they could not give me a loaner because the work was being done under warranty and even though Chevy was paying for the warranty work they would not pay for a loaner.
It was not until I informed the service writer that I had purchased several cars there and had been a customer for 15 years was familiar with the policy and that what he was saying did not make sense. That if I brought in work that I paid for myself, I did not pay for the courtesy car. That was a courtesy provided by the dealership not by Chevy. He then told me they did not have one available. I countered by telling him my car ran okay, it was just noisy and I would wait until one was available. In the end, he scheduled my work for the next day and kept my car for four days. He did give me a courtesy car. I guess one was available after all.
I do appreciate that McCarthy will provide a courtesy car when keeping my car for long periods. But I did not appreciated having to fight the service writer to get it. In the past it was offered. The service at McCarthy has really dropped off and I don't really think it is because of the guys that are working in the shop... I think they are told not to give out those cars because it costs money.
Problem is... they will lose more in the long run by running off the loyal customers they already have. I no longer feel comfortable recommending McCarthy without giving a warning about how they are pinching pennies.

I had a Wonderful experience at McCarthy Chevrolet. Carl Gray did an excellent job. I will refer anyone looking to purchase a vehicle to him.

Did get a good deal from Ben Henley and his buddy Jamie. They listened to what I was asking for and found it and was able to make a good deal for all. Very nice people at the dealership, courteous and professional. Made buying a car an easy experience. Thanks again Ben Henley, your the best!!

Mostly, everything with my purchase was satisfactory, other than the excessive waiting around times.

However, everything went downhill once I started dealing with the Service Department.

I had dropped it off to have a minor repair done to the interior. So, I called them back to see if they could check something on the door while it was there. The guy on the phone got an attitude and said, "You know, we'd appreciate it if you would've pointed them things out". He even said it twice, to rub it in.

Furthermore, I ended up using all that "free tank of gas" they give, making almost 9 trips back an forth, fixing paperwork to door dings.

I will never buy from this dealership ever again.

I m honored to have the priveledge to buy my 3rd car from McCarthy and the 5th one sold to me by Kevin Robinson. Heath was an awesome saleman and he did everything I had doubts on. When I say I absolutely LOVE McCarthy, don t take it lightly. This was my first time buying a brand new vehicle ,and I was super overwhelmed being a busy college senior. I took my car in not knowing exactly what was wrong. It seemed to be shuttering when I accelerated and when driving in low gear. Scott listened as I explained the trouble and called a technician so that he could take it for a drive to see what was the matter. As we waited for the technician, he also took a peek under the hood for me and discovered a possible issue with the cooling tank. He also showed me that my license plate bulbs had gone out. Scott explained that they would take it into the shop and take a closer look. He got a rental for me to drive as repairs were being made and showed me how to work the locks and how to use the push-button start. He also said that he would call with updates for me. He did follow up later to let me know that they would be replacing the transmission and that it was covered under the warranty! Yay! A few days later, he called to let me know that it was ready and that they replaced the cooling tank as well! Throughout the whole process, Scott was so patient and so friendly. I really appreciated how he explained things to me and how he followed up with me as well. He did an outstanding job! Every time my husband and I bring our cars in, we are always impressed with the service team and how they take care of us!

I needed some last minute maintenance work done on our Malibu before my wife drove it to the East coast on Monday. Our Service Advisor (Shawn Dearing) was able to work it in on Saturday which just adds to the exceptional customer service he always provides. It feels good to know the work will be done right by the excellent service team at McCarthy which is one of the main reasons I continue to buy my new cars from them.

Kade was awesome to work with. He is super energetic and loves his job. When my wife and I walked in we had a go no higher monthly payment in mind. On the first offer Kade came back with a monthly payment $1 higher than we were wanting to spend. There was no going back and forth haggling. Kade was very professional and added in humor along the way to help with the daunting process of buying a new vehicle. I would definitely recommend Kade and McCarthy Chevrolet Olathe!

My husband and I just purchased a car for our daughter as a graduation gift from McCarthy
auto Group. Sam Searcy was our salesman and he was the greatest guy to work with. He drove to
Blue Springs to bring a car from that dealership for us to test drive. He was never
pushy during the process and even let our little dog come with us to the dealership
that evening to finalize everything. He kept us updated as to how long the process was going
to take and offered drinks and ensured we were comfortable throughout the night. I would highly recommend that if you are looking for a car for your teenager you definitely need to go see Sam Searcy at McCarthy Chevrolet in Olathe. He is a great guy to work with. Sshhhh this is a suprise for our daughter, she is out of town on Spring Break and is going to freak when she gets home!!!!!

I really appreciate the straight forward manner in which McCarty Chevrolet deals with you. There were no games. Unfortunately I thought I found the vehicle I really wanted. The salesman took a good video walk around but there was snow in the bed of the truck. They delivered the vehicle to me 350 miles from their dealership. Unfortunately the bed off the truck was dented and had places where rust had started. They were very agreeable in taking it back to the dealership when I did not accept their remedy. Would I deal with them again?. Yes I would and have to say call Anthony if you need a vehicle.

I've gone here twice now with no disappointments, this is the second time I've gone but had Shawn, the first experience went fine as well with no problems and Shawn gave me the same experience, no bs, complete honesty and got the job done, I'm extremely satisfied and I don't have a clue why I didn't go here sooner, I'm probably going to only go here for now on and I look forward for any upcoming experiences as this is a place I look forward towards and trust to get the job done.

Edited rating: Discovered that the warranty I was advised to buy didn't cover the one thing I wanted it for; The hybrid battery for a Chevy Volt.

Only refund offered to me was prorated. Essentially gave them a $600 donation. :\

12/18/19 Update: Lowered rating further due to never receiving a reply to my email I sent to Karl Kramer. Sent back on 11/27/19 and have yet to receive a reply or even an acknowledgement.

I needed to have work performed on my car that I purchased from this dealership not but 4 months into owning the car. The car would not start due to a computer issue and then I was informed that the front brakes needed replacement. I thought that by going to the sister dealership in Lee's Summit, I would've received better assistance. When I asked if the dealership would assist in any way with the cost (as I had been promised at the Olathe dealership that the car had been thoroughly tested and the parts were all brand new), I was curtly informed that when they sold me the vehicle, it legally passed inspection. This was not anticipated. And for what I payed, I expected better customer quality service and I expected a better quality of the vehicle. I called the Olathe Used Car Manager to talk about this matter and never received a call back. This is not acceptable. I at least deserved a phone call in return. I'm very displeased with how I've been treated.

They were willing to work with my budget and still put me in the car I was after without trying to talk me into a lower priced vehicle. I would not recommend this dealership for used cars. I can t actually say they did their inspection of the vehicle prior to putting it up for sale. The only reason I went to this dealership is because they are supposed to be reputable. When I went to pick up my vehicle after purchasing and having the window fixed, I noticed the headlights didn t work. Now the temperature gauge is not working correctly and there is sludge in the radiator. They stated that the car was in excellent condition but come to find out it s far from it.

Tyler bradley,tabitha and ryan are great, welcoming and with me selling my toyota to them plus bought one from them the same day I thought it would take longer then it did..very efficient and quick, I will definitely go see tyler and buy another car, the guy took me to the first car he could find from me telling him what I wanted and he got the first one right I was impressed. Great people, great place to buy a car. They also will go above to help with what they can as well.

Walked in there after 5 car dealerships basically turned their head and said no I was fed up unsure of what to do it was literally my last hope. I didn't know what to think after having my soul crushed so many times all I wanted was a truck that's it ! seems simple enough . Anyway I walked in there asked for the guy that had turned me down 6 to 8 months prior. That's why I didn't go to Chevrolet first I had gotten tuned down just a few months prior but after talking to the gentleman. He reassured me we would find something I laughed told him my story's of the past five dealers and was wanting to know how ? He showed me a brand new truck I laughed and said no way I can't afford this he asked me if I liked it . Said he could get a deal done. So I explained the past 5 dealerships again. But withing a few hours I drove out of there in a truck I could afford he met every requirement I set witch was i wanted a truck , it had to be within 500 a month and my insurance has to be respectable. And he did it he got it done when everyone else said it's impossible. So now I'm driving the truck I always wanted today. It's not a dream anymore. I want to thank everyone there I appreciate this so much. I hated crawling out of my car I hated that it had roll windows and I hated the depreciation on the car was aweful and I could never catch up. I love my truck and can't wait to do business with you in the future !

As has been the case for the last 5 years, Larry Miller, my service advisor, made me feel welcome. He was his usual personable, professional, informative self. My vehicle was serviced without a hitch (props to the crew in the garage, as always), and finished earlier than anticipated. I will continue to take my vehicle to McCarthy's, and Larry, for routine maintenance and special attention.

Customer here since purchasing a used vehicle in 2011. Complaint with service staff. The men are condescending and didn't listen to my complaint. I had to explain to the guy that I had already told him my alternator and battery were tested the same day and were FINE. I took car to another dealership and was told a completely different story that confirmed my and my husband's suspicions as to what was wrong. McCarthy service team are shady and un-trustworthy. Will never go back.

This Car Dealership Is Very unprofessional. Good environment of people just BAD BUSINESS. We made a deal on a newer Malibu for 15k with a warranty that s 4K. We filled out paperwork. I signed. I Paid Very close attention to numbers, prices etc. I know what I agreed on. After the fact, They put my info on a USB port and somehow we now owe 29k. You will be hearing from a lawyer.

I have purchased my last two vehicles from McCarthy and the sales teams has gone above and beyond my expectations. The part that I'm not happy with is the service department. When I bought my last car, a 2016 Chevy Impala there were scratches and scuff marks on the trunk and they asked me to bring it back and they would buff them out. When I picked up my car four days later, the scratches and scuff marks were still there. Today I took it in for an oil change and I said to the service guy the last time I was in and they rotated the tires, the sensor didn't match up with the tires. He said they probably forgot to reset it. When my car was ready the first thing I checked was my tire pressures and every tire was at a different psi. That tells me they didn't even check it and I might be expecting to much but I feel they should have put the correct psi in all of the tires. Three times I have had my car at McCarthy for service and three times they have let me down. Not sure I will be taking it back there for service and probably will not buy a vehicle from them in the future.
