McCarthy Chevrolet Review

Not at all happy with my service here. I had very set goals as to what I wanted. Which the sales man was well aware off. The car I looked at was not the car he sold me. I was told I couldn t test drive unless I had full coverage insurance. When I got in the car I was very upset it had one thing I asked for and that AWD! He then told me oh well we can add that sunroof in I didn t realize that wasn t on this car. As I was very frustrated I spent all day there filling out paperwork I left with the car when I shouldn t have. When I asked him what I could do about the car because I wasn t happy he said either sell it outright or trade it in. A month goes by and I go up there to get paperwork so I check on when will my appointment be to install the sunroof he forgot to order the parts. I will take my business else where next time.

Jordan went far and beyond to help me. That guy deserves a raise!!! Thank you for everything Jordan!!!!!!

I purchased a vehicle from Heath McRoy. Lots of times that process is stressful with other dealers and salesmen. Just the opposite from Heath and McCarthy Auto.

Deceiving prices. The first price I see shouldn't have discounts I'm not eligible for. The salesman was very rude on the phone when I said I was no longer interested. I'll never be back. That sucks too because I'm a Chevy guy.

I purchased a used 2010 GMC Acadia from McCarthy Chevrolet in November 2017 and my wife and I felt like we got a great deal but we just learned that our rear tires' interior walls were extremely worn out to the point that they could have burst at any time. The repair technician indicated that the tire wear was due to a misalignment. The front wheels have normal wear, but the rear wheels were in horrible condition. I understand the phrase "buyer beware" but the car was presented to be in "great condition" at the time of sale. We could not see any issues with the tires when we bought the car and didn't have any issues during the winter months. I don't think that anything will come from this as I have already emailed McCarthy from their website and have yet to receive a response. I think I recall my inspection sheet stating they were replaced in 2016, but again, that was 4 months ago and could be incorrect. The repair technician from another company said that there was no way these tires are two years old - he suggested 3-4 years at least.

I hardly ever make a Google review but I think this time it's warranted. Buyers (including me) need to do a better job of inspecting the cars before purchase and the dealership needs to do a better job in ensuring their customers drive away in a safe vehicle.

UPDATE: After receiving a call from the service manager at McCarthy and airing my grievances regarding the situation, we came to favorable terms regarding reimbursement.

I was halfway through my loan when I started having problems with my car that I had bought from a dealer in another state. Super bummed and not planning on buying another car right at this moment but knowing that was my best option I started checking dealerships in the KC area. Everyone I met who had shopped at McCarthy has been pleased so I figured it was worth a shot. And so far I have absoultely no regrets. They were able to work with me on my not-so-great credit, pay the difference I owed on my trade in and get me into a car I love! Not to mention the whole team is extremely friendly I would highly recommend Dakota Saur at the Nissan store in sales, he was phenomenal, very easy going and not pushy at all. Marshall the manager was very eager to get me the right price that worked best with my budget. And Tyler in finance does a wonderful job wrapping it all up. I Would recommended this charming bunch to anyone who is looking for a car even if your scared you might not get approved you'd be surprised what they can offer you!!

We stopped by to look at used vehicles at this dealership. Samuel Searcy was the salesperson who assisted us. Very professional and willing to go the extra mile to get the information we wanted and find a car that fit our budget. He was quick to respond to any questions and followed up to make sure I was a satisfied shopper. In the end we decided to purchase new instead of this used car, but I wanted to give a shout out to Samuel for being so helpful and persistent!

I purchased a 2018 Equinox yesterday from McCarthy Chevrolet. Jamie Harrigan Sr in sales was a pleasure to deal with. I explained to him upon our first meeting the kind of car I was looking for and he found me the exact vehicle I wanted in a very short waiting time. I would highly recommend Jamie and the entire staff at McCarthy Chevrolet !

I had Samuel help me find my truck. I stopped in one night to ask a question about what they had to offer, he answered my questions no problem, and set up an appointment for the following day to sit down and work everything out. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional about the process, got me a good deal, and made me feel comfortable without feeling pressured about buying. It was a very fast process to get in and out, he didn t keep me around any longer than needed.

Over the past several years I have been impressed with the service from McCarthy Chevrolet. In particular, Ken Archambeau, a service advisor, has been outstanding in his ability to work around my schedule and to advise me on those issues that need to be fixed and those that I could wait on. In one instance, a day before a trip to Colorado, I noticed one of my taillights was out on my 2007 Tahoe. Seeing the difficulty in replacing the bulb myself, I called Ken, explained my situation and he said to come on in and he would work it in that day. With his help, I was in and out within 20 minutes.... with just the cost of the 3 dollar bulb. Ken, and his service department was one of the main reasons I now own a 2015 Tahoe from their dealership. Great people to work with!

The specific sales man who helped me was kind and understanding with my whole situation he had the car I was interested in ready for me when I arrived. And once I test drove it and knew I wanted it he and the finance team worked with me to get a plan that worked with me in my budget. Everyone was kind and so helpful and I couldn t be happier

We felt zero pressure from him at all even though we had to come back a few times to make a decision on which vehicle worked for our family. As previous Tahoe owners, we came in to see the latest Tahoe model. Climbing in, we were reminded how uncomfortable the 3rd row was, and, as a family with 7 kids, this wouldn't work as we were trying to reduce the friction and fighting about who has to sit in what seats! Ivan McGary jumped in (politely and non-pushy) and gently guided us toward the Traverse. WOW! We fell in love when he had me "sit behind myself," starting in the driver's seat, moving to middle captain's chair and finally the 3rd row. Ivan got to know and interacted great with the 3 kids we had with us, and then he set us up with an overnight test drive. He worked with us the next day on all the trim and accessory options, culminating in Ivan going on nearly a 2 hr drive to get the exact vehicle we wanted. A great experience with Ivan and at McCarthy, also made great with our interaction with Jacob in finance. Will go to Ivan first when looking again.

I had a great experience at McCarthy Chevrolet in Olathe. I had been to another local dealership looking for a truck and they were not wanting to work with me on the things I wanted. I worked with Jamie Harrigan at McCarthy and he was great. He was able to make sure I got everything I wanted on my new truck. You can tell he really cares about customer service which is hard to come by these days!

Two consecutive times when a scheduled servive by appointment takes up too much of my day.

I really do not want to go public with a 1 star, but 2 hours for an oil change is excessive by appointment.

Update from 1 star to 4...returned for a 10k mile service and time was slimed down to 1 hr, which I think is acceptable.
I will be back when I reach 15k miles.

James was great to work with. In fact it didn't even really feel like I was buying a car. I felt as though I was dictating the entire process and never received any pressure from him at all. All of my questions were answered very promptly and I was allowed to take my time to research all aspects of the vehicle. The finance department did a wonderful job as well. Top to bottom, five star experience. Oh, love the car too by the way.

This was my 1st car buying experience and I went to many different dealers looking at a number of different cars and this was the most laid back out of them all by far. Did not get pressure from Jordan to get into something I didn t like and took his time to hear what we liked and what would benefit is the most.
