A great place to visit. Had tons of fun with a lot to do. The location was beautiful with a great view our room. The service was good depending on how busy staff was.
Very beautiful. Lobby was really pretty and clean. Staffs were very nice. Rooms are really nice as well.
Very good hotel! We stayed in one of the suites with two adjoining rooms and a kitchen and it was a perfect spot for our family! Having everything so close downstairs makes it even better.
This place is freaking sick. Huge place, awesome staff, and a dope hot tub.
This place is 100% the best hotel ever no complaints excellent service and atmosphere! It's a 10 out of 10 for me!
This is a great hotel. Every employee we interacted with was exceptionally polite. Especially Clark at the front desk. He was extremely helpful we arrive several hours earlier than we expected but he helped get us in as soon as the room was ready. He also answered every question we had. The valet on site was fast most of the time. There are always times when apparently everyone wants to leave at once but they still got them as fast as they could. All of the shops around are nice. Several restaurants in the same area are great but Azul was the best! The room was very clean and had plates, bowls, a toaster and even more essentials for your stay if you wanted to prepare food in your room. When we come back we definitely will try and stay here again.
Great service and attention to detail. Family friendly and close to everything. Concierge was extremely helpful and even tracked me down by the pool after we couldn't get ahold of a boat rental company.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms were decent. Got to check in earlier then time. Nice conceirge service.
Great place to stay when in So. Tahoe. We stayed in the 1 bedroom, which was very spacious. The full kitchen was very nice. There were lots of restaurants and shop in the area, and connects directly to the Heavenly gondola.
The place is nice it has full size refrigerators and ovens and all utensils you could need they do make you valet your car which is 29 extra dollars a day
I'm giving this condo/hotel 3 stars because of the service and silly policies/fees, although you'll find it difficult to beat the location in South Lake Tahoe. We rented through AirBnb. They will not let you check in 1 minute before 4pm, and have a 10am check out time, the earliest I've seen. They have outrageous cleaning fees, and no one really seemed to care about you at the facility, which was short staffed often. Maybe this is just California? The room(s) consistent of a variety of hotel-type room layouts that connect by shared doors, but still felt outdated and a little awkward. In the end, I promise you won't be disappointed with staying here, but it could be so much better.
Booked a room for April 9th and 10th. On the drive up we saw that the road was closed due to a rock slide. Called the hotel and after 5 attempts finally got someone on the phone who was very nice and agreed to cancel our Friday night with no charge. So Saturday we attempted to make the 3 hour drive up again unfortunately to only find the road closed again. 6 hours later we arrive. I find out the checkout is 11 am. I ask if my status on Bonvoy which always gets me a late 4 pm checkout is okay. I m told they don t honor any status from Bonvoy which is surprising since they are the same company. I ask for an hour or two extra for a late checkout and am told no but to come back down later when another manager is on duty. I do just that and after waiting a very long time for a response I am told no again. I ask if they are full for Sunday and they respond no and ask me if I would like to book a room for another night. So they could give me a late check out for an hour or two but simply don t want to. Even worse I am also informed that I m going to be charged for Friday night as well as they have no record of me every calling in and canceling on Friday. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone as the management does not seem to care at all about their guests or they experience or their loyalty. Oh and I asked for the general managers email to register my complaint and was told I d have to call back to get it.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Marriott. Good for couples families and kids.Staff was extremely nice and catered to all of our needs. rooms were fantastic, we stayed in a one-bedroom villa and I couldn't have asked for more.
Clean, peaceful, great location. 5 min away from beach, also close to restaurants and shops
Wonderful place.Tons of shops, restaurants and activities.
Concierge Connie is the nicest person I've ever met.
Great location at the base of Heavenly Ski Resort. There's also a lot of restaurants and retail nearby which means once a guest arrives, there's no reason to go anywhere. Hotel seems very new. Rooms come with full refrigerator, sink and stove.
Great location, surrounded by the Heavenly Village mall, pretty much all your day to day needs right there. Concierge extremely helpful with making reservations and recommendations for entertainment and hiking. Full activity schedule, family friendly. Not thrilled with our room. Studio is a junior suite, kitchen well equipped, but dining area poorly lit with no window, no good sitting area. Will opt for a 1 bedroom next time.
Beautiful apartment. We are 5 and it is very comfortable. The excellent bed. The decoration and distribution.
Make this one of your "bucket list" destinations! South Lake Tahoe, CA is full of activities, Emerald Bay, an hour or so from Reno NV and four hours away from Yosemite National Park.
Loved staying here. Great environment for my family. Will definitely return.
Best place to live like your home. Kitchen is well stocked.
Outstanding service, brilliant accommodation and just the right place for a holiday...thank you to all the warm and wonderful staff at the Grand Residences
I don't post anything unless they rate 5 stars. Service, location, and amenities are great .
Great place and great staff, especially Stacy at the front desk. The rooms have been remodeled with a choice of a modern or rustic design room. Conveniently located as well, across the street from Heavenly and the grocery store. It's also a 5 minute walk to Lakeside beach
Great location to stay for a visit to Heavenly.
Service rooms are comfortable.
It was awesome! We did Latin dancing! They were super nice and taught my wife and I how to dance, it was amazing experience!
I've been doing an American cosplay for one night. ^^ I've been doing well in California where it's hard to see snow.
It is right under the ski resort, and the facilities seem to be good. The price seems to be able to rent a large room cheaply if the timing is well set... ^^
Excellent activities during our stay, such as kids play area and wine tasting.
A very nice resort, with rooms with an appealing design and functionality. Located right beside the Heavenly Gondola, allowing you to go skiing with ease.
We will back again!
Wonderful resort with full kitchens, heated pool, complimentary valet parking for guests, tons of activities for kids & adults and a prime location in the heart of Heavenly Village.
One of the nicest and hospitable places i have ever been in my entire life....
Stunning facility right in the heart of Stateline/South Tahoe. Room amenities were fantastic and the ability to cook meals on my schedule was absolutely fantastic. Kitchen was well stocked and even included a slow cooker which I thought was a nice touch. Gas grills were available poolside. Absolutely a fantastic value for the price!
Drove up for our anniversary, called beforehand to see if there was anything they could do like set up a bottle of wine etc. and I said could be charged to the room. However with covid they said they were unable to place anything in the rooms but to mention it to customer service and they would have a 'complimentary' bottle. I asked if they need a name for the reservation and the lady said she already had my profile up so good to go. Great. Well upon check-in I received deer-in-the-headlights reactions from the front desk and no willingness to do anything about it and almost an attitude of us lying about the whole thing. Well it turns out the main phone number also connects to the Timber lodge nearby and my mistake was I must have accidentally chose them as an option. The lady's confidence about my profile over the phone was what really sparked my confusion. I really don't care about the wine, but the Grand Residence's lack of any care in the world and attitude towards us was very off-putting. That and the total lack of recognition or thanks for my platinum status gave my wife and I the feeling we weren't at a Marriott property and just some hotel that doesn't have any pressure to maintain a brand standard. Next time if we do stay in Tahoe we will certainly try the Timber lodge because they seem to have the resources to reward guests for special occasions. Another note worth mentioning is the Grand Residence's air conditioning absolutely sucks. The thermostat is able to go down to 65 but the inside temperature never dropped below 72. Luckily at 4am after not sleeping much we called the front desk and they supplied a box fan which we set up in front of the very small opening the window allows and now hopefully we can get some sleep after writing this review. This hotel is probably perfect for some and other experiences of course will be better. But for our anniversary it was definitely a bummer.
It was a very comfortable hotel that fits the price. There was a fireplace in the room and the room got warm. It is convenient that shopping spot and restaurant, supermarket are right next door.
Great customer service clean well appointed rooms, nice pool and hit tubs and great access to the Heavenly Gondola for skiing and snowboarding. Village next to the hotel has plenty to do and eat at.
Valet parking only, so instead of park car yourself in a couple minutes, you have to wait for 10+ mins in line. Don t even try to ask for additional 15 mins for late checkout, they will kick you out. Hot tub is by reservation only, which is impossible to make. Quite bad noise isolation, you hear everything going on on street. Small queen bed, never seen such small queen size bed. And crowds crowds crowds everywhere. Not a good choice during Covid
Full apt! Right next to the gondola and the grocery store.
Spacious rooms with functional kitchen! It's located centrally and has access to multiple restaurants and cafes in walkable distance.
The best people I've come across from the valet to the event coordinator (Lindsay.) The stay for our honeymoon was absolutely amazing. The location couldn't be better as it's close to literally everything. The rooms were super clean, modern and provided pretty much everything you could possibly imagine from fireplace to an extremely comfortable bed...and even a crock pot. The on-site events such as mimosas/doughnuts to a day hike though the nearby bi-state park. Lindsay (the coordinator of such events) always made it seem like we were meeting up with a friend. We both hope to see her next visit for our one-year anniversary.
Great location, excellent rooms, heated pool and wifi
We love this place. We stay elsewhere but love the Basecamp Pizza restaurant and the fire pits across from the restaurant.
Our go to when staying in south lake Tahoe. Superb service, clean, and centrally located. Will be back again soon.
Perfect location especially for family with little kids. Easy walking access to: restaurants, activities, hikes, lake access, supermarket, movie theater. One star off for having a kitchen vent that blows right back into the kitchen. This design makes no sense at all. Windows don't fully open and not allowed to open front door to air out the kitchen. So your place will smell like food for a long while.
I felt like it was well worth the price. Large clean modern rooms. Extremely quiet for a great night of sleep. Great pool with beautiful grounds. Extremely kid friendly. I will stay here again for sure.
Made a reservation based on being told that the pool and spa was open. As we checked in my wife went to go get information from the pool staff. Pool staff notified her that reservations need to be made for the spa. My wife asked if she can make a reservation at that time. She was told no, and to just check in at the desk when we are ready to go to the pool.
A few hours after check in we went to the pool desk and were told that all spa reservations were booked and that we should have reserved earlier. My wife mentioned the previous conversation, staff just said sorry I should have mentioned that to you . Basically tough luck . At the time my wife first spoke to the staff regarding the spa there were openings.
To make matters worse I ve been staring at an empty spa from my balcony for the past 30 minutes. Had I known we weren t going to be allowed to use the spa I would have booked elsewhere. I understand the need for precautions during COVID. That s not the nature of my complaint. We were misinformed by the staff despite making it a point to go speak with them and inquire about the rules. What more were we supposed to do? I suggest the front desk notify guests about the spa reservation policy because the pool desk isn t doing a great job at it.
The room was great. Very clean. Grand Residences is attached to Heavenly Village. We ended up not using our car the entire weekend because everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. I highly recommend taking the gondola to the top, even if you are not skiing.
My only complaint is that we had noisy neighbors.
Best hotel in Lake Tahoe! Always clean, great service and ammenities, perfect location. I always choose Grand Residence!
Great staff and room is great. Full kitchen is a must have.
The location is as good as it gets. Near stateline for gambling fun, Heavenly Ski Resort right there. Rooms have plenty of space with kitchen which is my number one. Service is great. Asked for extra blankets and they were right on it.
Excellent place to eat and hangout with family and friends
Terrible experience! The room was noisy, loud pump noise coming from the roof. Their technician offered us ear plugs! Then got a huge scratch on our car while parked in the valet parking. They promised to pay for but lied and their insurance company is a scam! The room was noisy, loud pump noise coming from the roof. Their technician offered us ear plugs! Poor customer service!
Great location, many food places nearby. Room was great with a few exceptions: there was only 1 toilet paper roll without any in the drawer as backup, the queen bed and pillows were very uncomfortable we did not sleep well, and there were no coffee filters in or near the coffee machine. Be aware that there's a $29 overnight valet fee. All the customer service so far was very good, the room was clean and odor free, but there was one hair stuck in the shelf side in the cup cabinet. Room service tidied our room and phone requests were filled promptly. There's one outdoor "hallway" where we board our elevator where people always smoke (we are non smokers and health-conscious) so that was a con. Overall our experience was good and the hotel looks nice.
loved it wonderful people best customer service ever if you go you must get help from Crystal great person for sure will be happy if you get help from her great location
Right at the base of the Heavenly Gondola. Rooms have great kitchen facilities and jacuzzi bathtub.
When we arrived, after booking early in 2015, out location was on the main street.....LOUD. Tyler Young helped relocate us to a village location directly across from the Base Lodge Pizza entrance (band and karaoke nightly). We loved the convenience and the "noise" pretty much ended by 10pm. Highly recommend but AVOID the front location if you are noise sensitive. My only "complaint" would be that please do not think this location is lake front or lake view - it is not. Just a 10 min walk to the lake though, with amazing sunset views.
This was an excellent hotel, I really enjoyed my stay. The room was comfortable with a nice bed with decent pillows, the kitchen and dining area was a bit cramped but everything worked and appeared up to date. Everything was clean and the staff was very helpful. The location of right next to the heavenly gondola was very convenient, and there are many options for shopping and dining within walking distance.
