I had an absolutely amazing experience staying at the Ritz-Carlton Club. Thanks to Matthew McCormack my family was able to get the vacation that we've been dreaming of. From the beautiful scenery and the views of the beach right from our villa, to the exceptional service and courtesy provided to us from the staff and even the attentiveness and kindness displayed to our children, it was a great experience. My children won't stop asking me when we'll visit this paradise again. Thank you Matthew for everything!

The Ritz in St. Thomas was beautiful. The property and rooms were very clean at all times. The staff was very friendly, always saying hello, asking if you needed anything, and very informative about the island and nearby areas. The only negative was the restaurants on the resort. We were not a fan of any of them. We recommend having dinners off the resort. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the restaurants.

Spent the day here for my friend's birthday and the staff were just amazing. So attentive, I felt as if it was my own special day! The pool water was the most comfortable I've ever experienced and the morning breakfast was simple, but delicious. Look forward to returning some day!

Just got back from a wonderful week at the Ritz-Carlton Club. The grounds were beautiful and the service was excellent. When I need a place to call home for a week, this is number one on my list! The new restaurant was delicious, and factor in the number of pools, the beach, the spacious residences, tropical surroundings and world-class staff...definitely a 5-star experience!

Staff is hit and miss. The friendly staff is above and beyond great, and the rest are just not. Most are great though! Expensive food, reasonably priced beer, normally proceed cocktails for pool side. Slow food service most of the time.

Poolside store is reasonably priced and has stuff like sun shirts, sunglasses, etc. The pool itself has a bunch of kid and adult floats. Also a ping pong table.

Grounds are beautiful, amazing views (St John is across the bay), nice pool. Has a family, kiddy, and adult only pool plus a few hot tubs. Nice lawn chairs both by the pool and beach. However after the hurricane the beach is small and full of seaweed. They try and clean it everyday, but it's a losing battle.

The gym is good, but some of the equipment could stand to be replaced like the mats and some of the free weights.

I recommend it here, but you may want to wait until more of the grounds are open from the hurricane which is supposed to happen Fall 2019.

This was one of the vacations I've ever had. I stayed at The Ritz Carlton hotel initially and long story short, my experience there was just okay, not really what I was expecting as far as the Ritz name and brand was concerned. However, with my remaining in time St. Thomas I decided to stay at the Ritz-Club per recommendation of a friend who had been stayed there before. And here, all of my expectations were not only met but surpassed. As far as complaints go, I don't really have any, but I did feel that the food at the restaurants though really good, was a bit overpriced. But I guess the prestige and value of the Ritz name is behind this so at the end of the day I'm okay with it. Many thanks to Matthew McCormack for making this possible, if it weren't for my friend getting me in contact with him, I would not have made the choice to stay here.

Always a beautiful place to rest and enjoy a unique place. Even in difficult times like these after 2 hurricanes scale 5 in 10 days.
The quality and warmth of the staff is incredible.
The beach restaurant is very cute and has great burgers.
The beaches are not good and there is Sargasso, but against nature it is very difficult ..
Excellent !

We rented a 2 bedroom condo at the Ritz Club from ...

We rented a 2 bedroom condo at the Ritz Club from 12/28 to 1/4. My wife contacted the concierge many times before our arrival asking what the New Years activities were and other things we needed to know as this was our first time on St Thomas. They said they didn't know and this was a week before our arrival. Another concierge my wife spoke with said she would email info. My wife never received an email. We also let the concierge know a week before our arrival that we would be on the property by 2pm so our room could be ready. We arrived at 2pm and were told our room was not ready but go grab some lunch and it would be ready in 45 mins and she would come back over to let us know. Service was horrible at Coconut Cove! We had to wait at least 15 mins for someone to bring menus to our table than we ordered drinks and had to wait 20 mins for our drinks. We finish lunch in about 1 1/2 hours and haven't heard from the concierge about the status of our room. We go back to the check in area and was told our room was still not ready! All in all we had to wait 4 hours to get in our room! No apologies from the staff...NOTHING!!! UNACCEPTABLE! We constantly had to call or go downstairs to get more bath products! We had reservations at Alloro on the property that evening. The service was awful! We again had to wait forever for a server to bring us menus and even a glass of water. I ordered the lobster special and had to wait an hour for my food to be brought out. My wife and daughters food was brought out before mine. So they ate theirs and I ate mine an hour later! The resort beach was devastated by the hurricanes so there is very little beach. There are rocks all along the beach line and in the water which makes it very difficult to get in the water without getting injured or cut up. The beach is horrible! I would expect for a Ritz Carlton to at least dig out the rocks so guests can get in the water and enjoy it! Barely anyone goes in the water because of the condition of the beach and entry into the water. We also saw a major difference on how the staff treats paying guests versus the member guests. Paying guest are treated like a second fiddle and the member guests get priority VIP treatment. You have to go to the pool/beach area at 7am if you want to reserve chairs for your family! The staff puts towels down and setup chairs for the members but will not do so for paying guests. Also, the resort has very little activities for kids. On a positive note, they did have a nice New Years Eve celebration in the ballroom at the hotel that we did enjoy. On our last night we received our bill under our door. My wife reviewed the bill and noticed a $72 charge on the bill that was not ours. The next day she brought it to the attention of the concierge and she said she would look into it and take care of it. Didn't hear back from her and it was still on our bill until my wife brought it up again! Lastly, 2 weeks before our arrival in communication with the concierge my wife asked for a late check out as our flight was in the evening. It was supposedly noted on our reservation. We arrived and the note was not on our reservation so we made the request again but never heard back from any staff on the request. Since we waited for 4 hours to get in our room when we arrived....we were in no rush to leave at the 11am check out. We proceeded to receive multiple calls at 11am in our room to exit the room. We also had staff come to our room to ask us to leave as they had members arrive and were waiting to get in the room! How about the 4 hours we had to wait to get into our room on our first day! It was like a 2nd rate hotel tactic to badger guests! This is supposedly a Ritz Carlton not a Motel 6! Bottom line is this: We have stayed at many Ritz Carlton properties around the world and this one is the WORST! This is far from Ritz Carlton standards and we expected much better service after paying $12,000 for a week.

I'm sure this once was a 5 star hotel, but it isn't any longer. First off, the rooms are dated, with scratches on the walls, furniture and glass doors.
We were told the day we arrived that the pool and beach would both be closed for our entire stay. Their solution is to bus us to a nearby time share.
The restaurants are limited, only two open, with very limited menus.
Lastly, non-stop bugs. Last night I killed a cockroach in our bathroom. A cockroach. In a Ritz. At $500 per night.
Do yourself a favor and book at the Caneel Bay Resort on nearby St John or the Four Sessions on Nevis. Both far superior.

One of the best hotels in US-VI. Absolutely stunning views with private beach access. The pol area was excellent. The suites were spacious. Lot of fun activities to do on-site, we snorkled, paddle boarded and all that without leaving the hotel. The food was good, the weather was amazing

My wife Delores and I had a great time at the Ritz Resort on St. Thomas. We especially appreciated Brittani at the front desk who helped us begin our vacation in an exceptional way. Douglas and Lisa at the Bleuwater who made sure our dietary needs were met and that what we ate was safe and delicious; also Margaret who was a great ambassador for good will and memories at the Ritz.

I am writing this review after being here for the second day. So far, this Ritz property is just average. My comparison is the St Regis in Puerto Rico, and the Ritz in Amelia island. At the above mentioned places, when you pull up, someone is running to open the door for you. Here, we get a glance...and then someone slowly walks to the car. I just opened the door myself. So did my wife. At the pool, they are doing ground keeping at 930...seems a little late to me, but people might complain if they were out any earlier. The room, again clean...but pretty average for 600/night. The air conditioner sounds like a coal furnace. I will update this review in a few days...I'm hoping the service will get better. On a positive note, the gentleman that drives us to the room (Luke) is excellent. Management could probably take some lessons from him.

Was average. Really not up to the Ritz-Carlton standards. Food was terrible, we tried all resturaunts and only one was good. The staff are not warm and welcoming, and are often rude. On many occasions incorrect food orders were given, sodas forgotten, and the staff had attitude. One staff member was harassing to me at a certain point, and a few others were plain obnoxious. This hotel really does not live up to the standards of other Ritz-Carlton hotels, and the service is mediocre.

Aside from the hotel, Saint Thomas is nice for snorkeling, but other than that it's a really run down and empty town. There was one Walgreens which was 35 minutes away, and nowhere else to get necessities. The roads and drivers are terrible. The food was absolutely horrible, everywhere we went! Service and food is priced high - and we don't mind paying but we expect good food and service in return. Instead we were paying $20 for a can of bumblebee tuna at Fish Tails, and eight corn chips. This seemed to be regular everywhere, and the locals reccomend these places. I believe that they don't know any better, this is the best that they have and know. Drinks were poor in taste, and very watered down. in nearly every aspect, the service was unwelcoming, and unresponsive. We aren't looking to be pampered, just looking for respect and decency! If you have been anywhere with high standards, and are looking for fine dining and a first class experience, neither the Ritz nor Saint Thomas are the place for you.

If you are looking for sloooooow... then this is the place for you. If you are also ok with service that is far below what we have come to love from Ritz Carlton then you may actually really like this place. This is a five star resort: it has the facilities, it has stunning beach views, several pools, a nice gym and so on. The only drawback is the service and the fact that they are still recovering from Hurricane Irma.

Let me give you an example when it comes to the service. I asked a waitress if I could order a bottle of water and a diet coke. The response after staring at me blank for 10 seconds was simple: the bar is closed. So I left and started to search on Google maps for a local grocery store.

Now, technically speaking she was correct: the bar was closed. But I later found out that there was free filtered water just a few feet away from the bar. And when I asked another staff member I was in fact allowed to order because even though the *bar* was closed, the pool was open and there you could order water and drinks. The waitress would only have had to use a few more words and a few more seconds in order to let me know that there were excellent options even though the bar was not open.

For lunch and dinner your best option is to get the menus yourself in the bar and order there. Now, if you are ok with a long wait, the staff will eventually show up at your table but don t be too hungry if you go for this option;) And if you order a side salad, expect fries to be delivered :)

These things are not the end of the world by any means, and if they did not flash the Ritz Carlton logo (and pricetags) everywhere, nothing of what I mention here would be an issue.

Rebrand the place to Hilton or something and reduce the prices by 30% and I would easily give this place a four or five star rating. But don t come here and think you are at the Ritz Carlton. Despite the fancy logos everywhere you are not...

My family and I spent the spring in the Virgin islands. This was by far our favorite stop. We spent 3 weeks here in a gorgeous 2 bedroom villa. A great property with scenic views, wonderful beach for sunning and swimming, attentive staff.

The property has been updated since the storms, with some work ongoing. My family and I look forward to returning, especially to see the beach fully restored. Lots of water activities for families, sailboats, kayaks, paddle boards. Drinks and dinners were reasonably priced. Fine dining also was available on property.

The villas are exceptional as you'd expect from Ritz-Carlton. As Marriott Chairman's club owners we were treated well. A few issues during our 3-week stay were quickly resolved.

I would recommend highly.

Very spacious 3 bedroom units on the beach. The units are appointed like any Ritz Carlton, top notch everything. The beds are so comfy!!! Full kitchen, washer dryer. The property is on an amazing beach. The restaurant at the resort is a little on the pricy side considering the quality of the food. Lots of toys on the beach to play with. Hobie cats, paddle boards, kayaks, water bikes, snorkeling gear to mention a few.

St. Thomas is great for many reasons. Even though you have the assurance in being part of the US territories it's a beautiful Caribbean destination. Great shopping and grocery stores are nearby and the charming town of Redhook off of great bay. Of course the Ritz Carlton offers everything you could want here including fabulous restaurants, lots of pools, all sorts of water sports and beach activities, and top rate well-kept accommodations. A great destination for a romantic getaway or a wonderful family vacation. 5 stars

My family has been visiting this location for about a decade now. The service and grounds are impeccable. And the pace is so slow and serene, that it makes the relaxing Ritz-Carlton Hotel next door appear hectic by comparison. I have never left without regret and wondering when I'll be able to get back again.

My stay here at the St. Thomas Ritz-Carlton was truly an amazing experience. I stayed here for my Christmas vacation and I'm looking forward to doing it again next December. My 2 BR condo was spacious, the views were stunning, and room service never missed a beat with any of my requests. Then the restaurants and bars on the property were exceptional. Great food, fast service, friendly wait staff, everything you would expect and more they provided it. I then went on the Lady Lynsey catamaran and it was absolutely gorgeous! Again great service, the hor d'oeuvres were delicious and I absolutely loved the snorkeling adventure they took us on. On day three of my vacation the spa for some well deserved R&R. The massage was excellent, the atmosphere was perfectly relaxing, and it was a short distance. All in all, the trip was absolutely a wonderful experience. Thank you so much Matthew for setting this up and giving me the experience of a lifetime.

Amazing place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly, always checking to make sure you have a great time. We were here during hurricane Dorian 2019 (hit in the middle of our week long stay) and they were calling our room and providing updates. The staff even stopped by with bags of water, Pepsi and small sandwiches and chips to make sure we had food and water since the restaurant was closed (only one restaurant open at the time due to previous hurricanes) and since the island was under curfew. That is the type of service you don't often see or experience which is a huge huge plus. Loved our stay at the Ritz St. Thomas.

Very, very, very poor service. Took an hour to get my beer at the pool. Really, at The Ritz it takes an hour? Happened twice so I started going to the bar myself. Our dinner the night we arrived was comped because the service was so slow my friends wife had to go to the room with their 5 year old that melted down after the hour (yes, no exaggeration) wait. Then, my steak was cold to boot and had to be sent back. It's an unbelievable beautiful property but these service issues are unacceptable. I have 2 more days here so I will update my review if things change for the better.

My husband and I are MVC members and stayed 4 nights in a 2 bdrm residence. It was excellent. The grounds are very well kept. The staff is SUPERB to say the least. I wish I didnt have to go back but we ate planning our next trip! The only negative was the seaweed issue. It's out of their control but God bless them for trying their best to keep it raked, plowed, shoveled out of everyone's way. There are plenty of other beaches to visit if you want but we didnt let it bother us. We will. Definitely be returning.
