Our 2-bedroom suite was very comfy and a great home base. We bought groceries across the street and cooked our own hot breakfast every day in our kitchen. All service staff were friendly and helpful, the pool and exercise room facilities were well maintained, and the variety of daily programs for kids was impressive. Of course being 60 seconds from the gondola, surrounded by good restaurants, and across the street from a grocery store were also big pluses.

Went with one bedroom unit with family of 4. Plenty of room and the place was beautiful inside. Location is best in all south Tahoe. Literally walk out of the hotel and you are in the middle of all the shops/restaurants and gondola ride. The pool was very big and nice and tons of available luxury style lounges. Pool side service comes from kalana restaurant and was very fast and excellent food but on pricey side for sure.

Fun vacation

I made a 1 month advance reservation at this Marriott Property to the tune of $390. I called and canceled the reservations within 4 days of making them as my plans had changed. When reviewing my credit card statement I found the charge but did not find the refund for promptly canceling. Upon calling today I was informed that it was a "promotional rate" and non refundable. That would have been nice to see during the reservation process!! NOT buried in the the small print on the confirmation email. Having worked as a manager in the hospitality industry for over 25 years this is just money grabbing disgusting behavior and Marriott should be embarrassed to pull such a "bait and switch" sales scam. Life happens and peoples plans change, and part of being in the hospitality industry is to accommodate and work with those changes. That is what generates good relationships and return guests. I gave Marriott 45 days to resell that room.

In the future I will avoid this Marriott Property as well as any other Marriotts whenever I can.

Please find another location to enjoy Lake Tahoe.

Great hotel!! The staff were really friendly and kind. The hotel was gorgeous. The lobby area is big and has plenty of space to get together. There are board games and chess. The rooms are comfortable and big. The hotel is in a great location of town and right in the center of everything which is great. Overall a great spot to stop.

Such a great hotel. Very convenient with the gondola right in front of it. Very nice rooms, very nice service, comfortable beds, and a fun pool. Great skiing too. 10 out of 10 recommend.

Need to remember, they do not run this like a hotel, nor does it have all Marriott hotel amenities. Understaffed and no restaurant. They charge a lot for parking and on several occasions I was not able to get in touch with someone to have the car brought up. Other times we returned from dinner and no one was around to take the car, not a problem if they offered self parking, unfortunately valet is only option at a high price per night. We had a two bedroom unit and I found one of the bedrooms very small, I think the furniture size and placement was not right for the space. Location of this property is the real selling point.

Taewon, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and that Grand Residences by Marriott, Tahoe has become your favorite resort in Tahoe! Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5 star review.

I stayed here with a friend a whim because staying there, in the two bedroom suite, was cheaper than two separate rooms at a hotel in Reno. It was about an hour drive and totally worth it! The room was huge, with all the amenities: fireplace, fridge, sink, table with lots of seats, flat screens with DirecTV, and fantastic views. The facility itself is quite large and located near many things to do. There's no view of the lake, save for the TV in the lobby. The staff was friendly as well. I would absolutely stay here again, especially at the rate we paid.

Filthy room, used soap bar and another guest food left in fridge. Smudges all over fridge, dirty bathroom. So disgusted with hotel manager(Greg) left us in room and said he would address it with housekeeping. More to it than this, worst travel experience in 30 years with Marriott. $230 x 2 EACH NIGHT FOR A DIRTY STUDIO.
Disgraceful Customer Experience.

We have always had a pretty good stay when booking at the Marriott, until we visited South Lake Tahoe, more precisely, Heavenly Village.

For some reason when you walk up to the front desk to book a room, they tell you to call their 800 number and book it with someone on the phone. We all know how fun 800 numbers are, transferred, put on hold, disconnected and so on. 40 minutes later, we finally booked a room, they told us we "might" have to switch rooms because they were full and we nedded to stay 2 nights. Okay great room first night, the second day WITHOUT notice they deactivated our keys to the room. When I came back to get my camera and photography equipment to photograph a wedding the door/key would not work ...panic!!

I went to the front desk and asked what the heck was going on, they said "oh we had to deactivate your key". I asked why, they said we "might" have to have change rooms, after they reassured us we would not have to change rooms after all.

I called The Marriott directly to tell them about our experience while staying there, they did not apologize for this huge inconvenience and added stress, in fact I just got the standard lip service.

So much for their Marriott's Rewards program! Not much of a reward that I have found!

We were in town in the summer. This is a great location if you are looking to go up in the mountains. The gondola is right outside the resort. The rooms in the resort are all very nice and clean. There are granite countertops and fireplaces in a lot of the rooms. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful if you have any questions. Really the only downside is that it can be a bit pricey, but I would still recommend staying here if you want to visit lake Tahoe.

We were not told construction was happening in the room above us. We were woken up every morning. When we asked after the first morning if we could move we're on our honeymoon they said we couldnt and we would have to just deal with it. Not sure why they would offer a room that has construction going on right above it. 3 nights and 4 days of loud noise and a ruined honeymoon.

Great
