Beautiful marble and wood theatre. Watched Swan Lake and our whole group was blown away.

Polite staff, super theater, super troupe. The Mariinsky Theater is always inimitable. I recommend not to take tickets 2 tier, second row. On the first one can not see anything. Actually standing places.

Loved the amazing atmosphere at this grand theatre. The neighbouring newer sibling is amazing too, but this one bears the heritage and beautiful architecture within.

If you do not like classical music, it is worth a visit to see the architecture and interior design. Unfortunately the staff is a bit bitter.

Beautiful theatre, but I would choose my seating more carefully next time. I bought tickets for the second row seats in the first circle, but I could hardly see anything, because in the circles, the seats of the first two rows had no rise. I think it's best to choose either front row, or third row for the circles.

The last circle has seats with rise, but you can hardly see anything, because the seats are so far away.

Great opera House. When Lucky you can hear/see great opera and singers. And great directors like Giergev. And champagne and caviar in the intermission.

Yes, it's wonderful! Of course, the new scene is less cozy, but it's a great sound and you can see the scene from any places.

Tips: If u like to see the orchestra closely, I recommend the second secions of each side(from the stage). I was there and could see even the scores!

Very nice performance hall.
Unfortunately we were not able to see an evening show but we were satisfied with a concert in the morning discovering the opera for the children .. but this allowed us to have a good overview of the hall and the quality of the shows on offer.

It makes no sense to talk about the interior and the repertoire, the history of the theater speaks for itself) I just want to say one thing for future visitors: do not take tickets to the gallery itself - 3 tiers, 6 rows - even if it s visible and well centered, but it s very uncomfortable to sit hens on a perch; do not lean on either back (cold wall) or forward; the passages are incredibly narrow. The staff is also not very friendly.

A fine theater, but the service is organized in a terrible way - one buffet, queues, little toilets. Neither coffee in the intermission can not drink, nor buy water.

Seeing a Russian ballet or opera is simply a must for anyone visiting Russia. Despite the fame of the Bolshoi Theater, the Mariinsky Theater is just as wonderful! I watched a Cinderella ballet performance and I can say that although it was expensive, it was an experience like no other.
I highly recommend it, would go again.

Such a beautiful theater. I saw ballet and opera at this theatre. The Russian talent was amazing and a once in a lifetime experience. The best way to get tickets is through the hotel or better yet a travel agent. One must remember that every country is different. Prices are different for non Russians. My memories of this gorgeous theatre, the talented people, and the Russian culture are my most precious.

Ahhh what a marvelous old theater! Opulent is the right word to describe the interior. The decor is lovely and the view is great even in the back of the floor seating. Seating layout is a bit awkward as they squeeze seats in along the wall very close to regular theater seating. We had to keep getting up and moving over to let people by. The restroom is much too small for a venue of this size.

Watching Swan Lake here was a wonderful experience. Easy internet booking.

An excellent mariinsky hall 2 does not cease to delight in acoustics.

I was delivered tickets to the wrong show. The theatre and orchestra were lovely. The dancing was poor and not nearly worth the money charged. First show I've ever walked out of.

No comment can be added to this temple of opera and ballet. An obligatory stop on a trip to St. Petersburg even if at this time it is not worth staying outside because of the works that are all around (staying outside, however, is never worth the trouble).

Booked the Swan Lake ticket on the official website two months in advance, and grabbed the ticket the next day after the ticket was sold. The ticket was not full. Of course, it was full on the day. Today we watched the ballet "Bayadere". I am delighted! For the umpteenth time I watch this ballet and never get tired of being surprised. And the music and the performance and the soloists and, especially, the cordabalet - everything came together in a single composition into a single beautiful whole. The audience did not let artists go for a long time. Is this not proof that ballet is good?

Imperial Ballet Theatre "Mariinsky" is the best known and must famous in Imperial Saint-Petersburg. Must visit for every Traveller! PS. Don't forget to dress properly!
