What an amazing theatre.. Outstanding performance of giselle

Very beautiful theater! I was 02.01.2019 on the Nutcracker a good ballet. The production of 1954 (March 21).

Amazing theatre with interesting international and domestic public. The theatre is gorgeous. The scene, balconies and entrance are very decorated.
Only the way to entrance was not clear because of construction work outside

We went to Sadko s opera.
I understand that they bought the most inexpensive ticket for 1200 rubles / person with a mark of limited visibility, but not 60% of the whole scene! That is, less than half of the scene was visible. Another negative subtitles always did not keep up with the artists, but I want to delve into and understand every word. Is there someone manually clicking and forgetting to follow? Third minus: the floors do not monitor the behavior during the performance: someone always walks, someone forever with the phone. Distracted constantly. I understand that it s uncultured and the person himself must follow his behavior, but if there is no control ....
Well, the fourth - just like a fact - a ham sandwich ... 300 rubles! Just a slice of bread with two thin slices of sausage. Eat in advance or take a snack with you.
In general, these three points were doubtful for me.
The rest, of course, is wonderful: almost 4 hours passed quickly! What a scenery! How many participants! What are the costumes! Thanks for the performance!

Terribly uncomfortable, and so much so that you forget about all the beauty around and about what action on stage. The new hall is nice, but looks more like just a hall. The whole story is here, of course, in every centimeter.

I often go to the theater, I can only share how late or not Gergiev was late, but yesterday he was not there, there were no prolonged intermissions. All is well.

The world renowned Mariinsky Ballet Company is definitely worth a visit

The ballet company is fantastic, but the comfort of the chairs seems like a joke. The chairs are uncomfortable that you can not enjoy the work until the end because of how uncomfortable you are. There were older people who gave me real pain how uncomfortable it must be for them.

The Mariinsky Theater is one of the main scenes of the country, which calmly competes with the Bolshoi in the quality of the displayed content. The ballet troupe of the Mariinsky Theater is known to everyone who is close to theater culture.

The old stage and the new and concert hall are all equally clean and beautiful.

All travellers should experience the theatre and see a ballet or opera at least once, why not both. All seats have great views, delicious selection of cakes and snacks at the bar (especially the honey cake). Nice array of beverages, WC and cloak room on each level.

The new Mariinsky might have better seats and acoustics, but it's hard to beat the theater experience here - just impressive. Do your homework on seating choices - having good seats with an unobstructed view makes all the difference.

The ballet it self was amazing but the theater (the old one) is outdated. Chairs are really uncomfortable and no proper air conditioning. To buy a drink during break is almost impossible due to only few stands that sell. Also prepare to bring cash as they don't accept credit cards. If I were you I would try to book a show at the new Mariinsky Theater

Yesterday 24 numbers, on Sunday came to watch "Giselle". Tickets are electronic and we bought them in January. So: it turned out that when they bought they confused the month. They pushed for February instead of March, and everything coincides - the 24th, Sunday, "Giselle", which accordingly burned out. And we have four guests not from St. Petersburg. But the sweet girl administrator came into our position, although we ourselves were fools, and we got to the ballet, and without any additional payments. Thank you so much. Yet Peter is really intelligent and cultured people.

Beautiful and renowned theater. You have to watch a show while staying. But caution is needed when closing tickets so you can take a good view of the scene. Tickets, especially for ballet, are pretty dirty.

Watched "Mazepa" opera by Tchaikovsky. The artists and the orchestra are beautiful. Staging and scenery amazing and the quality of representation is simply no issues, everything is great. But the convenience for the audience that this is not absolutely concerned about the management of the theater. The chairs are terrible, of course they are covered with green velvet, but there is nothing under it and people spend four hours sitting on a bare bench, which is very painful. The child could not stand it (sat on the balcony on the first row) took up the fence and was kneeling the second and third act. Not only have no seat side handles because this hand put nowhere to begin to flow away match. On the balcony, only the first row can be watched by anyone who has no higher chance, so people have to stand all 4 hours.
Well, the first time standing in line at the men's room! There are three large booths - you can place at least five in this place, and on the side there is no empty space at all.

Visited the theater for the second time, watched the opera "Eugene Onegin", say in ecstasy, then do not say anything! Scenery delighted, singing Onegin is not forgotten! Thank you for a pleasant evening!

Here I spent my childhood. Has grown in this area. I often went to the theater. Yes, repairs are not done .. Yes, benches on the third tier. But in this theater there is the spirit of old Petersburg. I'll always appreciate it at 5. But Mikhailovsky is always an example of taking care of the theater.
