Everything is good, but the parking problem always spoils the impression. It is very disappointing that there is no such thing near two huge theaters, and this is in view of the distance from the metro.

These three theaters can be visited endlessly. And on Wednesday I didn t get to the concert, and I just walked around, and it turned out to be great.

I don't know what the Mariinsky Theater can be compared to, except with the Bolshoi in Moscow. But I was not there, so I won't even compare. There was an impression of complete delight both from the performance and from the general atmosphere of the theater. And prices ... well, there are such, although, in principle, they are quite lifting. I advise you not just to go, but to visit regularly.

Tickets are not available ... everything is done for a very sophisticated audience, students get to a good performance equal to magic ... the hall itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, all I can say is, they came in line, shocked at the prices. We thought that we could buy those that were not sold out to the back rows, we found out those, but the prices are the same, after the start of the performance they won t be sold ... (for example, in the Paris Opera the prices after the start of the performance are much lower and you can get 10 euros) will people buy policy will not reconsider.

Coming here during the New Year is no longer a performance season, and children over 7 years of age are required to enter to watch the show. It is a pity.

Starting from the entrance, my group was told that they had to enter by different stairs, as the tickets were separate, although there was no separation and a continuous passage on the balcony. The ballet is above all praise. But the hall itself is very upset ... If it weren't for the immaculate performance by the theater's ballet troupe, I would rate the experience as a one. The historical building is beautiful but the people that work there are rather mean and unwelcoming.

Experienced a double booking of our seats. Therefore we were reseated to much worse seats. Only after complaining severely we were reseated again to a bit better (still worse than paid for) seats. This seems to happen more often.

The performance was great!

Opera Evgeny Onegin was great. Facilities are narrow and old, bathroom is uncomfortable and snack bar is very expensive. Still, the work dissolves all these disadvantages.

Luxury and grandeur are saturated in everything at the Mariinsky Theater. You must definitely go to feel the Russian spirit, enjoy the Russian culture, and see the works of classical music of world level. Artists, musicians are great.
Perhaps the seats are not very comfortable, in the stall I personally was not very visible because of the people sitting in front, so I recommend taking a mezzanine (well, or the royal box) and carefully looking at the hall layout.

But I really hated audienes around me was using cell phone during all performances Or recording the performances was so bothering my eyesight.

I advise you to visit this place at the Mariinsky Theater at least once, to feel the beauty and grandeur of this ancient theater. I was at the opera Macbeth. I liked the chic sound of the orchestra, flute, harp all in one sound .... bewitching.

In the case of performances not in Russian, the stage above displays a translation (so-so, but better than nothing) of what is happening on the stage. It also displays the English translation. The main thing is not to try to compare them :)

All classical productions are phenomenal, I recommend.
Performances with modern costumes and "modernization" are questionable in my opinion. But I'm not a critic, so this is just my personal opinion.

As for the practical side, I can say about the old, historical scene that the acoustics are beautiful; You can sit in the first row of seats for 20 to the left and to the right of the central, royal box, regardless of level, without hesitation - visibility is excellent. Even in the second row, if you are not very short, you can also take tickets. Still, the price of such places is sometimes much lower. Do not forget, each floor has its own changing rooms, which is very good, there will not be a huge queue in the wardrobe on the ground floor. The buffet is certainly expensive for many. But does someone make you spend money there? You can tolerate if you wish. Tickets purchased on the theater website can not be printed at the box office - they will be sent to you by e-mail after purchase. And remember, indicate the names of all those who can pick up tickets from the ticket office, when buying on the website - in unforeseen cases, if you indicate the name of someone who could not arrive on time or was late, you can stay without tickets - at the ticket office you can only get tickets at passport of the person whose name you entered at the stage of purchase. In this situation, tickets sent to you electronically can save you. The barcode can be read at the ticketer at the entrance to the hall from the phone screen.
