except for lack of staff at breakfast.
Arrived to see a long line waiting for breaky and the next morning, snacking across the foyer. attended breaky on the last morning and could see WHY . Not enough staff. the poor host, a young girl was unable to do her job as she was also required to clear and clean the tables BEFORE she could seat guests. There were free tables but she was unable to seat as they all needed to be cleared. She was also delivering tea and coffee. OUTRAGEOUS. Many patrons left breakfast before receiving their tea or coffee as the barista needed more help also. Didnt look good for a NAME hotel chain

I bought a grouon deal for one nights stay here. It was very reasonably priced, the front desk girls were very welcoming and friendly. The highlight was the buffet brekky- unlimited barista coffees and endless options. The downside was the room, a long way down multiple corridors, quite dark - overlooking a bland courtyard...it didn't bother us though we didn't pay premium afterall!

I booked a room with a view! when I think of a room with a view across the road from the beach, you expect you would have just that a water view. Not a room overlooking the school playground. When I complained I was told there are 2 different views, and if I wanted the water view that will cost another $70 per night on top of the nearly $1700.The only positive thing I can say is, we were offered a water view the night before we left.

Hi James. Maybe I was a little harsh for my 3 star review. I will admit that the hotel is in a great location and the amenities were good. My room however was on the mezzanine floor. I had to catch a lift to the second floor, walk around the corner and catch another lift down to my room. My room was clean and well kept. It was a decent size and had a bath in a good sized bathroom. The decor was a bit out of date. The view out my window was of some back street alley and anyone could see in. I needed to use a chair to hold the curtains fully closed. I just felt for the money spent by the company, it was just not good value. Sorry.

We had a great weekend. It was easy to get from the airport to the hotel via train and ferry. The hotel is only a short walk or very short taxi ride from the ferry terminal. On arrival our room was ready and we went straight up. We were on the top floor which was above any street noise and had a pleasant view to the west. (We didn't overlook the beach). Our room had a comfortable king size bed and functional bathroom.
There was a rooftop pool which was small but adequate. Lots of interesting shopping in easy walking distance. Overall we had a great weekend.

Thank you for a most delightful stay! First time visitor to your establishment and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I would like to pay our thanks to all the staff who made our stay enjoyable especially the staff on the front desk, the young man who was in the basement car park for his service (a rather lonely existence), the cleaning staff and especially the morning kitchen staff for their service and friendliness. The open kitchen arrangement was something that we had not experienced and was another dimension to the total atmosphere of the dining room.
Just one small criticism: The doors to the rooms, when left to close by themselves, make an rather loud noise and is especially notable when occupants are continually leaving and entering. An adjustment to allow for a more subtle closing would be great.
Apart from that the view from the room facing the beach, was awesome. We would love to come back and stay again.

We stayed at Novotel last night and wasn't happy at all. The room looked like it's out of 1980,s motels that never been used and it was so dirty. Sheets were smelly and bathrooms were disgusting. It was just the worst experience. Didn't get any sleep at all!! The kettles in the room had dirty old water from I don't know when and there was one towel for both of us to use. They really need to step it up being the biggest hotel in manly a town with so much tourists all year around

I would would like to commend Accor group on hiring such amazing staff from the bottom to the top. I had a great service given by a staff member named Aileen she helped me and my family with a lot of requests and she did not say she could not do it.

Their should be more staff like this employee working for ACCOR GROUP.

Very nice aspect. Good place to sit and watch the world go by. There is only a limited menu for lunch but the food is nice and we'll presented. The staff are friendly but seem preoccupied with other things and need to get their attention even to order. Nice but uninspired and the staff while friendly seem to have other things on their mind

Had to find keys ourselves and drive out. I consider myself a very honest person and would never consider it but for some others, keys could have EASILY been stolen to any car...

I liked the room, breakfast, location, but receptionists (except of the man who was checking me in- he was super kind), provide me twice wrong informations, were not even sorry for that, and it s not cheap ibis budget where you can t except much from the service, but a little beat expensive hotel where I was expecting receptionist and the service to be super kind, and this women was not. Not recommend if You want to have nice holidays, cause it s not the nicest place. Rooms it self really good, as well waitress on the breakfast super nice.

AC not very cold... it is a 40degree day. Bug explosion on our balcony so we cant even open the door. One of our birthdays and the hotel was informed a week ago but only drink vouchers given- i would have expected an amenity in our room like all other accor properties. Lifts are small and slow. Carpet riped on our level. Reception unable to tell us exact times gym is available. One of the hotel lobby bars is not affiliated to the hotel this accor membership discounts dont apply. Not very happy with our stay so far and its day 1 of 3

The shower does a very good job in spilling water over to the entire bathroom floor. Room had seen better days.
One lady receptionist gave inadequate instructions on how to get the car key back from the confusing car parking system, whilst the other lady was very diligent at it.
Breakfast was nice though, with plenty of choices and one of the best views in the area.

My wife and myself booked through Wotif for a 5 night stay from Monday 23rd December 2019 at the Novotel Manly because of the 4.5 rating as advised by Wotif.
The cost including parking was in excess of $3000. $500 -$550 per night plus $50 self car parking
I would rate the Novotel at 1 star at best. I tried to write a review on Wotif however they advised it was published when I had not finished and could not go back to the review to add comments.
As for the hotel - Do not stay there. Problems we had were,
Check in.
Waited approx 10 minutes before pleasant young lady checked us in. Had problems with concierge as he could not converse with passable English and was more concerned talking to a young lady than doing his job. Eventually another person from reception took our bags to our room.
Room.
Pleasant enough although tired. Bathroom has not been updated and appeared to be from the 80's.
Needs a light over mirror, an exhaust fan and shower area updated. I doubt very much if someone elderly could get into the bath to shower.
Needs new carpets. Tiles on balcony need attention as many are lifting and could cause a trip and fall.
Bed was not properly made on first night
On second day room was not made up until about 3.00 pm so was unable have a rest. Complained and second day it was made up early.
On third day - Cockroach in bath in the morning and bed not made up until again complained at 12.15pm.
Day 4 and bed made up early.
Day 5 night was spent listening to extremely loud music until after midnight. Our room was apparently over the downstairs bar that plays disco. As we were leaving the next morning this made it impossible for a good sleep.
Car Park.
We went to car park next morning at 6.45. Car park closed which required going back to reception to access our car. (Car park retain keys in locked cabinet)
Breakfast / Bistro.
Breakfast in bistro was good however difficult to find a seat. As one other guest said " it's a bun fight".
Had lunch in the bistro - very ordinary. Would not recommend. Food very ordinary and a bottle of Dog Point Savy blanc that sells $24.99 in Dan Murphys was $65.
Assistant Manager was kind enough to deduct car parking from our bill but damage was done.
My wife and myself were looking forward to spending Christmas with our children and grand children who live in Manly and while this was very pleasant, the experience at the Novotel really disappointed.
I doubt I will every use Wotif as their rating system is I believe rigged and I will not stay again at the Novotel.

Found the room to be baby friendly which was fantastic. Their was no sharp corners and nothing on the ground which Bub could find and put in her mouth.

Travel cot that was supplied was clean and good condition.

Great location opposite Manly beach and close to the ferry. Surrounded by lots of restaurants. However you will pay for this. Its expensive and a pretty basic room although clean and tidy. Parking at the hotel is $40/day.

Beautiful room. Beautiful location. Amazing staff. Great food! I would stay here again in a heart beat and I highly recommend to anyone thinking about it. My only negative is the feather pillows. I hate them but it didn't make a big impact on my stay.

Was there for a work conference for a few days. Rooms and service were good. Wifi was rubbish and expensive. Your paying hundreds a night for a room and they still sting you 10 bucks a day for a basic wifi connection, plus the wasted time messing around with their portal to get it work. Ended up hotspoting to my phone instead after the first night.

The experience was very enjoyable. It was disappointing that there weren't any complimentary biscuits to have with the complimentary tea and coffee . The drinking glasses were not wrapped in paper bags. There was no pricelist for the minibar. For such an expensive restaurant downstairs, there should have been white linen tablecloths. It just looked like a bistro setting in a club. I've seen advertisements on TV free breakfast when we stay at the Novotel but we never got the free breakfast.

Stayed two nights at the Novotel Manly. Upon arrival concierge was very helpful in assisting us in directions to the car park. When we checked in the lady at reception informed us that our room had been upgraded to an ocean view as it was my partner and I's 1 year anniversary.
We got to the room and had our mirror decorated with the words "happy anniversary" and then a complimentary bottle of wine sitting in the minibar with a letter addressed to "Mr and Mrs Discombe". When I had a confirmation call for the booking I informed the lady on the other end that I did not have a "husband" that it was in fact my girlfriend and we were not married (as that is illegal being same sex). So it is only a minor mistake for my girlfriend and I (as we are easy going) but for other same sex partnerships it may not be let go so easily. Just some constructive criticism for the future; not to assume that every woman has a husband and not every man has a wife. I am sure you have plenty of staff members and guests that identify within the LGBTIQ community and it would do wonders for your hotel if you didn't make assumptions.
I called for a shaving kit and it didn't show up within 30 minutes, so I called again and it was up very quickly. Moments later my phone rang with the receptionist who I spoke to initially apologising for her mistake as she had forgotten to pass on the message. That gesture was greatly appreciated.
As a previous employee of Food and Beverage departments within the Novotel and Crowne Plaza in Canberra I am quite particular about the service I receive.
The quality of Room Service food was excellent. Much better than expected and the service from the staff was quick. The only issues I had were minor. When a staff member answered the phone in Room Service they only answered with "Room Service" or "Hello". I believe that is something that needs to be improved as I had no idea who I was speaking to or if I had reached the correct department. The other thing to comment on Room Service was that I was not given an ETA, however the food arrived within 15-20 minutes each time we ordered which is amazing.
We had breakfast in the restaurant both mornings, buffet was awesome with plenty of food to choose from hot and cold. Staff were warm and welcoming and on the second morning one of the ladies remembered my coffee order which I was very impressed with.
All round great stay. Thank you very much!

Accommodation was spacious, clean and all that we needed.

The only complaint was that free breakfasts were advertised both in an email I received as an Accor member, and at the hotel itself. We did not receive this. I asked at reception and was told there was only a limited number, but as we stayed 2 nights I thought we might have at least got one lot of breakfasts. This was very disappointing.

We were considering staying a third night, but no discount or incentive was offered for this. Other loyalty programs I have found to be generous in this regard.

The hotel is great and staff were good.

Thankyou, for our stay recently. Really impressed with your car parking staff. They outshone themselves this time round we were there. Couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Beautiful start.
Check in was always lovely and efficient, were congratulated for being nominated as the guest of the day. We asked later what that actually meant and said we would get a fish and chip voucher sent to the room. It never arrived. Bummer.
Our carpet in the room had two noticeable stains upon arrival.
We had the most delicious in room service meals. Great value, and fast service for hungry kids. Breakfasts is always good. But the grumpy omelette chef seemed stressed when it came to ordering.

Anyway, you are still a good hotel. Hope these observations can help.

This time our disabled son had a very bad time at the beginning and we were moved at the very last minute into a smaller room, they tried to blame us for the mess up, too many small things went wrong which made a unpleasant stay. Will not be staying unless thing's improve. The hotel was fully booked out so they didn't seem to care the same as last time

The experience of this stay was really shocking. I have already paid for the room on the wotif. When I arrived at the hotel, the customer service said that it was normal to brush a $50 deposit. However, after two days, when I checked my credit card record, I suddenly found a record of 175 Australian dollars. I was puzzled. So I called the hotel and asked how it was spent without money and how it was consumed without my card. The hotel staff said that they didn't know if they didn't know it. I said that I don't have a consumer country, and my 50 AUD deposit has not been returned. The hotel staff told me that it will be returned on Monday. After I checked my consumption record for two more days, I found that the hotel had become more aggressive. Not only did the previous $50 have not been returned, but the previous 175 Australian dollars became 225 Australian dollars. I really don t understand why this hotel would have no card. Was deducted, finance has sent me an e-mail saying that it is wrong to deduct this than money, but this amount of money is neither the room rate nor other consumption. If I still can't receive my money and return it to the card next week, I will call Australia Fair Trading directly to let them enter the investigation. By the way, the deposit for all the hotels we stayed in the next 5 days has already been returned, so I can't compliment the style and efficiency of the Novotel hotel.

I usually like to write reviews on places i go to so that other people have an idea of what to expect. I write the honest truth on various aspects of my experience whether its a positive one or not. Like i said, if i find the place awesome, i become the biggest advocate and recommend it to everyone and anyone. So i want to give one on the place i attended this morning. A group of 12 of some of my family members took me out to breakfast for my birthday to the NOVOTEL MANLY HOTEL for breakfast this morning! I haven't been there for years so i was very excited since
1. I was being spoilt for my birthday,
2. Didnt have to spend a cent
3. Got to spend it with family that i love, so i was really looking forward to it.
Let me just say, that for a "so called" 5 star hotel, they really need to put more effort to this part of the hotel! Firstly, the food was below average!!! Was quite tasteless and very disappointing! Though its a buffet breakfast so i can't expect that much from it so i let that part slide, however what was more disappointing was the service!!! In particular the waitress named GEORGINA!!!! She was an absolute disgrace! She was flat out rude and unacommodating! If i was in management in the hotel, i'd definitely be getting rid of her! NOVOTEL should be ashamed to hire an incompetent person like her! She made such a fuss to move a little table so that our group could sit together and enjoy the festivities, however this troll made it quite difficult to make this special day a memorable one! Thank goodness for the manager of the restaurant to come over and offered assistance and state that it was fine and there was no issues with it. Thank goodness there was staff that were friendly and helpful. I understand if we were unreasonable and expected something impossible, and if that were the case, she could have been nice and politely informed us of it which we would have been happy with however, GEORGINA was disrespectful, unpleasant and flat out rude!!!!! I definitely wont be going back to this place and definitely wont be recommending it to anyone!!! Believe me, i will be a spokesperson for all the WRONG reasons of this place!!! I was also planning to book a few rooms at this hotel for my sons birthday next month but that definitely wont be happening anymore!!! Shame on you GEORGINA! THANK YOU FOR RUINING MY BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST!
