We went to Zali's restaurant inside the Novatel whilst staying somewhere else.
We had walked past in the afternoon and the menu read well and it looked lovely inside. We were looking forward to joining them for dinner.
Arrived just after 8pm and were excited to order our entrees and mains.
We were both disappointed in both courses and the waitress took my entree off the bill after I had told her that, that should not be served to anyone. Sounds harsh but if you are expecting a nice piece if pork belly in a well to do restaurant and 5/6 of it is solid fat, whinging is valid!!!
I had intended to give 2 stars just for the waitress but after not returning to ask if we would like desert of even a second drink I took that second star away.
Sorry maybe we caught them on an off night... I would like to hear further reviews after us.

Very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable beds, lots of fun for the kids with a mini zoo on Sunday, which was perfect for us as we had all our family and kids for Sunday breakfast.
Sadly the air conditioning didn't work in the dining room, it was so hot, but the manager said he couldn't open the windows!! I understand you can't let the public in through the huge doors but they could have been opened a couple of inches.
The pool was lovely and we had a lot of fun, toys and towels appreciated too.

Not happy with the services. There was miscommunication from staff of services availed. Upon check in, I was not informed that my booking did not include complimentary breakfast. I went to the Buffet breakfast with a friend and my 3rd guest was charged extra so she has to pay direct to the restaurant. The waitress said I am only entitled to two complimentary breakfasts. I found out that I was billed for 3 buffet breakfast. I checked in on the 14 July 2017. I didn't know I can avail of the parking for $35.00 for 24 hours. So the following day I used the parking area from 15 July in time for my checkout on the 16 July 2017. I was charged for parking for 2 days thinking I checked in on the 14th but no one noted I used it only for one night. On the day I checked out, the reception told me that everything is okay, because I submitted my credit card details and will send me a copy of the receipt thru my email. Up to this time, I did not receive any copy of the receipt. I was surprised to see my bank statement that I was charged $136.76 on 14 July 2017 when I checked in and another charge of $187.41 on 16 July 2017 when I checked out. I called your reception desk and I was told that the holding deposit deposit of $136.76 will be reversed to my bank 5-7 working days because I used a debit card. Then I asked why I was charged $187.41. I found out that they charged me extra night for parking and 3 buffet breakfasts where my friend who joined me paid direct to the restaurant. I was also told that there was an extra charge of 1.5% using credit card where in fact they know I am using a debit card. So there was poor communication with the staff and the system. I am still waiting at this point of writing the reversal entry of my holding deposit. Normally, other hotels automatically cancel the holding deposit once the guest checked out.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Manly, our room was clean and light and the bedding was great. I would also like to thank the Novotel for the bottle of champagne, fruit platter and birthday message that awaited my arrival, it certainly completed my weekend.

Attended an event here.

Place is looking a little dated by today's standards, could use a refresh of paint to get rid of the beige and brown. You can also see that some of the meeting rooms are former units converted into large rooms. Lifts are very much in the small side and parking is limited (but not obscenely expensive like those in the City though).

Catering is good with the usual array of pluses and minuses (mostly boils down to your personal tastes really).

Staff are professional and friendly. They were quick to respond to all our requests and checked to ensure we were happy periodically.

I had a stopover from Auckland on way to Bangkok and because of Friend living nearby opted to Stay at Novotel Manly and it was the best decision possible. Location is perfect, right on top of Manly beach with proximity to numerous bars, restaurants and cafes and supermarkets.
I explored a lot by walking to lookout points on top of Smelly beach and walked down to the bay. Took the ferry from Manly wharf to Circular Quay. All in all I wish I had more time to Stay. Will definitely try to have an extended stay next time.

The reputation of the hotel was something that drew us here for a weekend away with the family. We came with great expectations and hope.
The rooms are great but the staff and food in the restaurant let's Down the hotel. At lunch we were first to the restaurant but told we had to wait 15 for them to get ready. The wait was far from worth it.
We won't be rushing back.

Once again (I stay here 4x a year) the staff recognized me upon arrival and made the entire stay feel like I was at home. From in-room dining to the bar and as always, the front desk staff, everyone had a smile on their face and a "can do" attitude.

....And I just keep coming back. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and the sun peaking over the horizon at sunrise is one of the most relaxing feels. On top of the buffet brekkie and guest services everything is lovely. Super busy atmosphere when everyone is up and about but thats part of visiting Manly.

Didn't like

Didn't like

The Hotel Rooms are very dated. The main lobby is beautiful and makes you think you are a clean well kept hotel but upon entering the room it was a very different experience. Upon entry to the room there was a strong odour coming from the bathroom (sewer smell). The Entertainment system was not very good. The remote worked when it wanted to and the streaming features didn't work. The hotel offered a DVD player and DVDS so our kids could watch a movie but they didn't bring it ro the room after we asked. The phone in the room also didn't work and when I went to reception on 2 occasions they said they would send someone to fix it but didn't. We paid for wifi when it was meant to be free and when I explained this to the reception they said I shouldn't have been able to do this and refunded our $30 room service for the inconvenience.

We had 1 bath towel in our room when we arrived.

The spa was not working and looking dirty as it was empty.

Also the building has 2 lifts which is nowhere near enough for a hotel of this size.

Overall a terrible experience and I wouldn't stay here again.

Did like

The location - Close to all shops, restaurants, bars and the beach.

The staff - The staff were very apologetic when I went to reception the few times but didn't deliver on the DVD player so I like that they were mannerly and seem to try and accommodate us but in the end we were disappointed again.

Had a pleasant 3 night stay at the Manly Novotel but was disappointed that the hotel had not been upgraded
at all since our last stay a year ago the carpet in rooms and hallways is in bad shape and other furnishings are looking worn.
Also our room was not cleaned or made up on one day of our stay and we had to call for clean towels.

Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific is a great place to stay. Across from Manly, North Styne and Queenscliff beaches it is perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. The room was very nice, the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. I have stayed there many time before.

Everything was great but you gotta take half a star away for the parking. The crew down there are great but it is a pain if you want to come and go or if you left something in your car. Ocean view rooms are worth every cent of extra money and the breakfast was delicious with a nice touch of a chef on hand to make special breakfast orders, and a barista for coffees if you so choose. All staff are of typical Novotel high quality - friendly, courteous and helpful. Wish we stayed longer.

Had a great time the only downside was the lack of a la carte breakfast. The only offer being a buffet at a fixed price of $32 per person. If you require only a light breakfast this is an expensive option. We chose to eat out for breakfast.

Rooms and facilities are well appointed. Staff attending tonus personally were pleasant and very helpful. Our stay was affected by poor service around staff who entered our room, food served and possibly an error in judgment.

From the moment we entered the carpark, the checking in process, and eating at the Restaurant on Sunday morning (which was overflowing) the service was fantastic. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was great, clean and extremely comfortable. The food was also excellent from Room Service and the Restaurant in the lobby for Breakfast yesterday. Great weekend. Thank you.

For one night ok.
Unfortunately the bathroom was not well cleaned. There was mold in shower cabin and quite disgusting bathroom fittings. You had this musty smell when entering the room which also indicates mold.

Asked if we could transfer to a beach view and were told they didn t have any. Checked online - could see rooms were available. Breakfast service was appalling! Ordered drinks - didn t come so we had to reorder them. My son got his meal. By the time he finished, my husband and I got ours. We waited for our daughter s, eventually had to ask where it was. It hadn t been prepared so we had to wait for hers to be cooked. No one noticed that 1 person didn t get their meal. No apologies. Very frustrating.

Stayed in a district room .Very run down, carpet was old and smelly, curtains were stained and smelly. Bed was ripped at the base. The rooms need to be refurbished, Great location and great staff, but 400 odd dollars for one night for a local get away is a bit steep. The balcony had no insect screen so no fresh air. I would rate it a 3 star Hotel. Will not be staying at the Novatel Manly again. Its a shame that such a well known establishment has such poor quality rooms. Wish I read the reviews instead of trusting the name of Novotel. All the replies from the owner are the same promising upgrades to the hotel some dating back 3 years ago. For the money people a spending per night and the extra being made from $50 for parking a night the upgrades should have been showing by 2020.

The reception area is nice but the rooms a little tired. The bar food wasn't my cup of tea. Great location, right on the beach and the staff were very helpful. You can borrow body boards and towels for the beach.

Novotel has amazing rooms, sized well and they were comfortable and warm. My husband and I have been to manly in winter and stayed elsewhere in the past and were so cold at night as the heating sucked, will stay here during winter again no doubt. One thing that wasn't the best was the shower.. its like the beach style shower heads, not the best. I ordered room service and it took 35 mins for 3 drinks! The lady apologised when she arrived at our room as said they were doing stocktake downstairs hence the long wait.
Overall a great location and breakfast included is great. Will stay again.

Oh wow, what a view. I stayed for three nights for a conference. Each day I would wake up early for a run on the beach before grabbing coffee at one of the many local spots nearby. Our conference room overlooked the ocean and the weather was so perfect (even in a winter / August time) that we kept the windows open most of the day. The hotel rooms themselves were very nice and clean and the staff were wonderful. I d strongly recommend and hope to return for my own vacation someday.

Our room was booked by a relative of us months in advance. We checked in about 2 am after attending a wedding.

Receptionist gave us a room card and when we opened it we found a couple sleeping inside. Explained this to reception and all sorted out about 10 minutes later.

The room had 2 queen size beds, spacious, clean with a big balcony facing child care centre. Breakfast was included in the room tariff.

Hotel is across the road from beach and valet car parking cost us about $45 a night.

In town to visit family and take in all of what Sydney has to offer. Novotel has been the perfect base for our group of 2 adults and 2 children in an ocean view room with 2 queen beds.

The room itself was perfect. Large, contemporary and well appointed. Amazing views of Manly beach. We were on 4th floor which has great views.

And the views are even better from the sunbeds and rooftop pool on the 8th floor.

The hotel is in a great spot. A bit lively at weekends, with the adjoining bars and restaurants, but nothing that causes any issues (even with the Santa pub crawl!). We didn't have any issues dropping to sleep on the comfy hotel beds.

Breakfast buffet was great and catered well for my wife (Coeliac) for gluten free options, and they were clued up on cross contamination.

The staff are all superb. From front desk through to the restaurant and kitchen, bars and those "hidden" members of the team that keep the place spotless and running smoothly. A huge thank you to you all!

Finally, a nod of recognition for some lovely little touches. The beach towels and boards, or umbrellas from the concierge, the rooftop pool towels (always plentiful) and perhaps the most practical... the guest laundry room on 4th floor behind the lifts. 4 washers and 4 dryers at $4 a go. Perfect for our family. And either cash or app payments.

All in all, the hotel has felt like a home from home for my Group and we are delighted we chose this over airbnb or other alternative hotels or accommodation. And we're happy to be returning for another stay after we've been up the coast too!

Thanks once again to all the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific team for making us so welcome.
