We often stay at Novatel Manly, and always enjoy the experience. As regular patrons of the Novatel, I think maybe a nice gesture would be to offer maybe 1 night free parking or a free breakfast, food for thought.

Booking and checking with was excellent efficient and friendly. I had a room around the back overlooking a small courtyard. The fountain went all night. I was initially pleased to be at the back to miss any street nowise however I was kept awake all night by that damn fountain that doesn't need to be going after dark.
You may want to consider turning it off during sleeping hours.

I stayed the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids, what a fabulous choice! The Reception staff were extremely welcoming, bright and efficient and the room was exactly what we'd hoped for the occasion (size and view).

Not a 5-star hotel, not even close.

Not a 5-star hotel, not even close.

Issues with the room:
- the Aircon made a continuous racket when started and as you increase the fan speed, it got louder
- hot water in the mornings was virtually non existent
- TV was small, old and slower than a snail crossing the room. Placement of the TV was such that if you sleep on the bed and watch it, you'll only see half of the screen.
- carpets were old and worn. Didn't even feel clean
- water in the mini bar wasn't replaced, so room service charges me $7 for a small bottle of water!!

Fantastic view and position in Manly.

Fantastic view and position in Manly.
The rooms are a little dated.
The beds were really bad, too soft and unsupportive.
Also very pricey! Luckily Manly is amazing and made up for these shortfalls..

The hotel is old so no matter how you vacuum the carpet it seems dirty. I ve booked this place for my wedding night. The room seems to be dark not enough of natural light and since we need to do our makeup there I asked for room transfer and I can just pay the difference or if they can put us in the rm facing the ocean but the staff said that it wouldn t really make any difference in terms of natural light so they just offered more room lamps for us to use. If you also need to stay late outside make sure to bring your key card as the door will be lock. I left mine at the concierge as we might lost it during the wedding when we came back to the hotel around midnight no one is in the reception so we need to stand outside still wearing my wedding gown and carrying stuffs from the wedding while waiting for any guest that we can tag along or receptionist to let us in. No one told me about this I am giving 2 stars as some of the staff has been nice and accommodating. But overall I think it s too expensive for the hotel at its current state technically you will pay this amount because it s in front of the beach. Btw, parking isn t free for hotel guest.
My stayed with Novotel has been disheartening, everything went great on our day except the hotel. We ve picked this place coz it s about 12mins drive away from the venue and we like to have our stuff book locally as we live around northern beach area. If I only knew we should have just book a hotel somewhere in the city.

A horrible experience for my fiance and I, it's now 11.22pm on a Wednesday night, we're getting married here at 11.30am, the music doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon, even after 2 calls to reception. The room is just about vibrating with the banging music from a function right below us.

This is the most frustrating experience I've had with any accommodation I've stayed in.

Thanks for making my wedding eve a very terrible experience.

EDIT: Just spoke to the manager downstairs who said "who told you the music would stop at 10pm" In this area, I can call the police and report a sound complaint after 10pm on a Wednesday night.

While on my way down stairs, they spoke to my fiance. They advised there is a function, and it goes to 11.30pm, and asked if we can just put up with it a few minutes longer.

We're playing close to $900 for 2 nights here, the room is certainly nothing to write home about, it took several times to get access to the 'public' wifi, as the account they'd set up for the guest account is not working. As for the WIFI, this is just one of those things, but banging music until 11.30pm, is unacceptable.

I have been organising with this hotel for months ...

I have been organising with this hotel for months in preparation for our wedding on the 18th. Everything was running smoothly until the guests and I started checking in. Poor customer service and management. No recommendations provided by reception on what to do to assist with providing the bridal party food for breakfast and lunch. We had to venture out to Coles and Woolworths to compensate. Our late check in was placed on the wrong room number. My mother in law and I reported of her ring being missing in which the staff member said she will call up in 1-2 days time. Unfortunately we haven t heard since. Even the hotel manager said that he will send me an email to apologise in writing including an ocean room stay if we were to come back. That email too was not received.

The only positive thing about the hotel is a big en-suite with an amazing ocean view. But the lack of hotel staff assistance and communication/handover has soured our wedding experience.

Simply outstanding! Nothing was a problem; staff across the property were so helpful and service was delivered with a happy countenance. From the start when negotiating with Alexandra, Aimee and James, to the event last week, it all went well with only one hiccup with wifi that was quickly rectified. So glad I live locally so I can visit again!

And a big shout out to the teams who cleaned our rooms; great job, and returning to the room was a real joy. Special mention also for Trish (great macchiato!), Matteo (excellent service) and Toby/Joey? (happiest dude on the driveway!, Portia (front desk smiley queen!). Oh, and the fella who makes the omelettes is a life saver!

Very friendly staff who went out of there way to help you.
There was charges on my account on checkout that i never used but without hesitation they removed those charges.
I recommend this hotel highly and will be back.
Thankyou for the excellent service regards Kathy.

The room was very nice and well appointed.

The room was very nice and well appointed.
The young lady who checked me in (I believe her name was Portia), was very helpful and friendly.
A couple of negatives to note:
1) The complimentary drink voucher as part of my AccorPlus benefits, weren't overly useful. They could only be used on one beer only and a couple of house wines. Your affiliate Novotel Central Sydney (stayed at 2 weeks prior) offered all standard beers, most wines and most spirits (except for top shelf).
2) Upon check in, our room was not ready. Reception took my wife's mobile number and stated they would call her when the room was available. When I went to reception a few hours later, the lady stated she tried to find my wife in the lobby but couldn't and therefore we were not notified of the room finally being ready. This caused my wife to have to wander around Manly on her own for a few hours, whilst I was attending an in house conference. Better communication practices could be adopted for this.

Apart from the two items above, my wife and I did enjoy our stay and were very happy with our room.

Staff were for the main part attentive but not overly helpful. Restaurant is very ordinary in terms of service and friendliness of the staff although the food was good. The hotel looks and feels a bit tired really.

The novotel is in a great location, it's directly in front of the beach and right next to many of the shops in manly. The rooms are ok and fairly clean, though some aspects are outdated. The service is good and the wifi is fast, the hot tub is small and more warm then hot, but the views from the pool area are fantastic. We stayed in one of the two bedroom units, and the room with the two twin beds was rather small and you can barely fit a suitcase next to the beds, but they are comfortable to sleep in.

First the negative : We booked our one night stay ...

First the negative : We booked our one night stay just to attend Peter Kuruvita's dinner and paid $342+parking for one night stay for me, my wife and our 6 month baby. The first room given to us was so small that it could not even fit baby cot and uneven bed mattress, so we requested a change, the second room given to us was big but closed from all end, no balcony and the room had big wall in front of window, which was depressing but the reception staff who came to help us felt that this room is not good for us.

Now the best : God bless them. Those girls read the minds and without we complaining, she went down and upgraded us to the nice room available on the same level. I can not even thank more how great we felt. The lady thought herself in our situation and felt what we felt and did best for us. I really thank Novotel for providing such a best and kind staff. After that, our stay was really good. Next day breakfast was awesome !! so many varieties and nice food, nice restaurant. Even one of the cleaning staff we met next day showed us the view of the sea facing empty room from outside and recommended for our next visit. We were so impressed with the sea facing view (from website view and pictures it is really not possible to 'feel' the view) that we decided to book a sea facing room next time and we are saving money for it.

Overall it was pleasure to stay in Novotel. This was our second stay after Darling harbor Novotel stay which was also fabulous.

Hotel has a lobby with good ambience. Staff are friendly too. The room that I got was quite ok with ironing equipment, which to me is an essential amenity. Location is great for those who love the beach, it is situated just along the shore line where the beach is just across the road. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which serves continental breakfast. There is also room service available which is convenient.

Really enjoyed the stay, very friendly, helpful staff. Hotel suite was lovely - stunning views and all clean and tidy as you would expect.

Only a couple of minor things - only 3 sunbeds around the pool which isn't enough especially over Easter weekend and clearing of plates and making coffees was a bit slow in the breakfast room. Not convinced there were enough staff on shift to support the numbers of customers staying.

Very disappointing. Paid $450+ for a night to celebrate my wife's 50th. Place was shabby, torn carpets, very ordinary room for the price. It got worse....the air con simply wasn't working and the room was like an oven. Asked for help and a staff member attended and told us he 'flicked a hidden switch' and it would all be fine and we could have a fan if it wasn't. By 130 am after no sleep I went to reception and reported it again. I was offered a fan again. At no point were we offered an alternate room. After paying nearly $500 we sweltered the night away in a hotbox with no offer of help. I will never stay in a novotel again. Totally ruined what was a much anticipated night in Manly.

Am currently staying at the hotel. Main problems are: 1. The noise from the nightclub that we have been told will carry on for the rest of our stay.
2. Paying $50/night for parking.
3. Paying $10/night for wife (no other hotels make this outdated charge.
4. Our terrace and terrace furniture is filthy.would suggest this is a second rate business hotel not the purported best in Manly.

Very nice and clean. The staff were all so polite and welcoming. The only down side was that it was 40 degrees in Manly and the air-con in the room didn't appear to work at all, and there were mouldy crumpets at the breakfast buffet. Apart from those two things everything else was top shelf!
