I love the Christmas atmosphere here and make it part of my annual trip to Chicago.
Macy's has everything I'm looking for. Purchased shoes, boots, hats, gloves, and cologne.
Very nice. Casual yet classy. Food was excellent as was the service.
Excellent location with a lot to do nearby. Big store, staff was very helpful and kind. The building is an attraction by itself, really beautiful
Staff helpful, sales was nice, food court downstairs was good
Why does every Macy's in the world have such awful floors?
Great selection at reasonable prices. The store is huge and impossible to navigate effectively without maps. Also, there are nowhere near enough associates to assist customers; this is most painfully obvious in the shoe section.
Very good sale! Very nice lady rang me out immediately!
Beautifully decorated at Christmas, staff was great and store was clean. Great history to building being old Marshall Fields.
Never can find anything and yhe service is terrible. The only thing good is the beautiful building.
They have everything that you need and want. Shop when there's a sale!!
Mega large department store, clean, neat and enjoyable to shop.
DISMAL in the extreme.. I wanted desperately to spen $100.00 dollars on a gift card/certificate for my son's birthday gift, and could not get a living person on the phone. I live in SC and do not have access to the store. I spent more than 20 minutes listening to various lists of departments, and none of them ever answered, no matter how randomly I selected them.l
The store inside is a piece of art. My tip when you go there: on the first floor where is beauty section, go right in the middle of the floor and look up: you will see stunning ceiling and beautiful architecture. From the top floor where the restaurant is, there is also an amazing view with "the biggest" seasonal ornament seen all the way to the first floor. Beautiful store, beautiful shopping.
Nice store in an iconic location but it's a bit grungy and the bathrooms smelled like b.o.
Still one of the best places to shop during the holiday. Such a wonderful shopping experience.
I love going to Macy's because of the store's overall atmosphere. The store is clean, the customer service is great, and they have a variety of products. Also the window displays in the winter are some of the best I've seen.
It's big. Really big. Plenty of ways to spend your money. Can be overwhelming
Old collection. I have seen same clothes from last three years.
Good deals today I bought few clothes for my daughter! And the customer was very nice and helpful
Bought my wife her Coach purse here, lady was a great help. Shop here.
Classic Macys, great selections, lunch in the Walnut room was great.
I do not normally write reviews, but had such a positive experience suit shopping for my son, I had to write this review... I would highly recommend Derrek for anyone needing to purchase a men's suit, and will travel back to this Macy's and work with Derrek for any future suit purchases! Derrek was AMAZING at helping us find an interview suit for my son, who is extremely hard to fit due to his height and size. Derrek immediately knew my son's size and first jacket and pants he tried on fit perfectly -- no alterations needed! Derrek was also budget conscious and made sure we had a quality suit without spending more than we needed to... Thank you Derrek!!
Went to take pictures with Santa. Was a great experience again!
Big store. Gorgeously decorated always. They now have a service desk for online orders or returns. Staff is helpful and knowledgable. The walnut room and 7 on 7 restaurants and delicious and quick. Easy for lunch errands. Can get everything for home and wardrobe for anyone here.
This place gives Macy's a bad name. Feels like they forgot to make improvements to the building for 40 years. Fitting room was nasty... dirty and smelled like urine. Half the staff was friendly and helpful, other half seemed to hate their life and wanted to take it out on the customer. Adding two stars for the decent product selection.
Not sure about the store, but the food court is worst place I have seen. Food is worst than fast food quality and price as high end restaurant. Bathroom really dirty. For a name such Macy's and location such Chicago downtown, I would rate this place less than one star. Sorry Macy's but you need to do better.
Head to the top floor to check out the history of the building
Crap NY store takes over iconic Chicago store Marshall Fields. Happy to see Macy's is really struggling now.
Amazing collection of clothes and good prices also affordable
This will always be my favorite Macy's very big great selection I just wish the security would stop following you as much
Walnut Room Brunch is Superb. I must say you have to try this one.
We got there when it first opened and the trash cans were overflowing and there was even loose trash in the elevator.
First time at this Macy's, visiting from out of town. Great sales.
Store is a mess. Clothes all over in dressing rooms. Quality of clothes has gone down hill significantly. Cant find anyone to ring up your purchase let alone help you. Very disappointing
Very beautiful place.
= ^. ^ =)) ~~ JR ~~
Macys during the Holidays - a department store with a lot of Chicago history - formerly Marshall Fields flagship store on State Street
Go to the Wallnut Room every year to see their tree. Never disappoints.....
I really enjoyed my visit at Macy's downtown I found some nice things, a coat and a very nice dress also I got some gorgeous earrings they have some very nice jewelry, my husband got two pairs of shoes very nice Stacey Adams, I would have gave Macy's 5 stars but their was a misunderstanding with the price of the food in the walnut room and also the elevators were two slow, Esther
Originally, Marshall Fields. Historically interesting, but otherwise, not impressed.
My favorite shopping store in the malls. Love their range of clothing from designers to their own brands.
If you're in Chacago for RSNA, remember to bring your badge. They might offer discounts.
You wouldn't expect a department store holds soms history inside.. Worth the visit
The store was looted. They had about half of their normal stock. I was able to find a men s deodorant I liked. The person assisting me was very patient. Five star had the sales person been more upfront with what was available in the store. They have all of the brands segmented into their own department. I was looking for a men s deodorant. The first deodorant they showed me they acted like it was all they had when in fact they had lots of deodorant throughout the store. Once I discovered that then I was able to pick what I liked best.
They won't answer the phone even when customer service is trying to reach them. Tried 4 times lmao
This place is really beautiful but that's pretty much this place's only redeeming quality. The staff aren't helpfully at all the store seems almost abandoned in terms of people that work here.
Wonderful lunch buffet in the Walnut Room under the great tree!! Our waiter, BJ, was Great!!
Wide selection of items from clothes to household goods. Convenient downtown locale.
Great service, lots of products. I have visited other Macy's stores, but this one was awesome! I went to return a product purchased online, and they helped with this!
Impressive department store. The top address in Chicago.
You really have to search for good quality clothes. Some parts of Macy's remind me of a bargain basement. Cheap, dated clothing. Many areas need some refurbishing, i.e., paint, spackle, etc.
The staff is really helpful and on point. Plus they have a lot of things that i like.
Very dissapointed with the window displays this year for Christmas. I ve been coming to Chicago to celebrate the season at your store for many years, and was let down today. Also, you took away the beautiful Christmas section on the 6th floor. Without the Walnut Room, there would be nothing special about the store anymore for Christmas. Probably will shop only on Michigan Ave next year. This was such a special place to shop when it was Marshall Fields, please don t ruin it for the devoted shoppers who look forward to the beauty it once had during the holiday season.
Went to the Walnut Room. Wait time was to be expected during the holiday season. Food was great.
The customer service is horrible! There is never anyone around who can help or check you out.
