Visual presentation in Macy's is on par with Chicago's architecture - visually stunning, everywhere you look. I was disappointed to see somewhat less traffic than I expected, on a Saturday morning, but the store still delivers a charge. Staff always greeted, and were always tidying, which speaks to their training.

This is a classic piece of history. Sitting in the original Marshall Field building, the store is stunning. From the column design to the hand crafted ceiling, the building is a wonder for your eyes. I also learned there are several restaurants in the basement as well as it hooks onto the underground pedway system. As far as it being a Macy's store, it is better stocked than an average store and seems to have more variety.

i love this place! nice time to just take a walk and get away from all problems. my favorite! I love shopping in their purse department because they have a variety of quality handbags. I am also often able to purchase a number of blouses on sale for a very good price!

Impressive department store. Wide selection in every department and plenty of staff around if help is needed. I admit we only came in to see the Christmas decorations and the giant tree inside the Walnut Room restaurant (viewing of the tree on the 8th floor), and we weren't disappointed. Everything you'd expect from a department store during the holidays, looks just like every Christmas TV movie. Love having the pedestrian walkway underneath the store, it made for an easy exit.

Macy's is the largest department store in New York, you can find everything, whatever you're looking for here is also at a low price in certain periods. Personally, I often also buy big names at discounted prices in June. I recommend it, to visit it for the majesty and liveliness of the truly evocative and pleasant context in its sometimes enchanting luxury.

The best place to shop in Chicago. Eight stories full of merchandise. It also occupies one full city block. With generally everything I could think of, you could easily spend a whole day there. If you do, I recommend the Walnut Room restaurant on the 7th floor.

I just received a tuxedo I ordered online, and came in to have it altered having not tried it on. Unfortunately, the pants were FAR too small and I needed to return them and find another comparable one, pronto. I spoke with Slava in the Men s Department, who knew exactly how to handle everything and provided premier customer service she found me a BETTER suit and marked it up to be tailored herself in time for the event I need it by. I m so grateful for all of her hard work and will be sure to be back!

The Christmas decor was amazing and the architecture was a must see. They were a little short staffed in the shoe department, as I had to wait quite some time for assistance. However, their selection was huge, and the staff members were kind.

That's where I purchased my queen size bed in a bag comforter set! Many years ago! It still looks brand new! I like quality. I never found a matching sheet set there, to go with it though. I am still searching for an orange rust tangerine, with a little touch of red or gold blended, to darken the color and match a particular color in the blanket. Maybe, Macy's have it by now.

I had a real good experience at Macy's. I met a person that works there by the name of Darren McMiller. He was in the mens section. He help me out tremendously. I knew what I wanted but I couldn't figure out how to put it together but with McMiller's help I was able to get through it. The fact that I couldn't find the first choice of clothes to wear to my film screening he made sure that I found something just good if not better. I'll be looking GQ for my Film Screening.

I dont think anyone actually works here. i called all the extensions to get to the mens department and no one answers the phone. Like is everyone at Macy's sleeping on a thursday afternoon. I would be angry if it wasn't for the one at water tower that actually answers there phone right away.

This is consumerism at it's finest. From a fashion point of view, everything you ever needed from almost every known brand can be found here. From shoes, to bags, to clothes, to coats - you name it they have it.

We went during the end summer and the sales were unbelievable. Items were going for between 50-70% off. The shopping environment was extremely pleasant, posh but not opulent. Coupled with the extremely attractive prices, it made for an awesome shopping trip. Key tip: Plan your visit to coincide with end of season sales. The prices can get really competitive, which is something you would not expect at a store like Macy's.

Besides being absolutely gorgeous, the former Marshall Fields store turned Macy's still offers great customer service. First time visitors get a 10% off coupon if you go to the visitor's center downstairs. The selection of wares is amazing. And surprisingly, I found prices to be reasonable of most items I looked at. A pair of brand new men's Adidas were mine for under $55, when they're well over $100 if you tried to buy them from, say, the actual Adidas store inside Water Tower Place.

Definitely the better of the two stores in the Mag Mile area of town. Like the Water Tower store it's an older property but it's cleaner and much, much larger. If you go during a sale be prepared to stay awhile. As a bonus there are more elevators as well.

I was visiting from Cleveland Ohio but I went to school at Ray Vogue schools of interior design Chicago and apprenticed under the senior designer at the State Street store Don Mowat.

Visiting Macy's IE Marshall Field's was bittersweet why did Macy's ever change the name of one of the greatest department stores ever.

I was saddened to see the trend rooms and the 8th floor designer floor gone.
When I worked at Marshall Field's back in the 70s we had English antiques priced anywhere between 10 to $40,000 a piece this shows you the quality at one time Fields had in their Carriage Trade.

I hope Macy's succeed the store still look great but with the new name of Macy's I feel Chicago lost a great tradition. Have lunch with a friend up at the Walnut Room the food was as good as always the service the best although I feel the carpet could be cleaned

For a flagship store, this location has a lot to offer because of its architecture and appointments (the mosaic ceiling is spectacular!), but the merchandising is often sloppy, and this makes the store look messy. They have many great brands in all their departments, and when I'm comparison shopping, it's great. They recently moved their bed & bath department to the lower level, and that was a good choice! No more need to escalate up to the seventh floor! Opportunities for sales.
