One of Chicago Icons has fallen. Worst cared for store ever. Bathrooms are disgusting and I was in the Navy. Will not come back.

When Macy's -- Chicago's best-known 'Mens, Women, hometown' department store -- to go crazy in. No recommended for people with shopping issues, lol. t
Macy's always has good sales in the summer sure that if you go here in any American city would buy some garment enjoy
Beautifully decorated downtown location during the Christmas holiday season
Doesn't have the ambiance of Marshall Field's, but a nice style all it's own.
While they do have a lot of middling brand merchandise, shopping these seemingly uncurated city block-sized floors requires a real commitment, one at least half the staff is obviously not making.
Former shell of a Grand Department store. I did not experience bad service, but the vibe in the store was not the same as it once was.
Store had good sale items. Loved everything I got, hopefully when the pandemic is over I'll get to rock them.
This is a great place to visit during Christmas! Of course you have the story told by the display windows outside, plus tons of decoration inside. Also you have to go inside so you can see the giant Christmas , where you can go enjoy a hot beverage!
A great place to window shop and stroll around the floors...especially around the holiday season.
Variety of things
Good return policy
You have to know how to look and look in Sale's coat racks.
Macy's downtown has it all thanks to the fact that it operates in the entire building. Enjoy the wide variety of clothes, household accessories, food court or their spacious event hall. My personal favorite is the food court on the 7th floor.
One star is pulled due to the lack of directions in the store. It is extremely easy to get lost and disoriented in what may be the largest store I have ever entered.
I love to spend time there specially if I'm with my family and friends
The place is nice, a lot of variety, it gets hard to get a hold of people sometimes
Omg, the biggest Macy's I've ever seen, and a full food court?!?! Holy moly
Came here for an architecture tour. Make sure you look up and notice that gorgeous ceiling!
Great location and selection. The largest Macy s within the city surrounded by many places to eat and shop.
Great variety of products. I am sure you can find it all. Amazing place. Indoor. Everything they sell is beautiful. It has many purchase options
Shop In A Great Icon In Chicago At Macys Of Chicago IL On North State St And Enjoy The History That You See on Every Floor of This Great Flagship Dept Store Today
Awesome choice we get lost, helpful staff, good reduction spot the red signs
The rating I give is on behalf of a person unknown. As a visitor to this city, I have to agree this a great store to spend money... someone elses! A few days ago my wallet was stolen and within an hour US$5000 was removed from my card accounts in 4 transactions, all at this store. It's fairly obvious, there is little or no check on identity or ownership of the card account being used. A well known fact? I would guess so. Otherwise, why would the thief have made straight for Macys?
Beautiful building, although Macy's makes it look tacky
I hope they stay in Chicago. A great place to shop. One stop shopping
GREAT time, went to go see the lights in chicago ,stopped into Macy, to see the tree ,we do it every year!!!!
Nothing like this Macy's! Even if you are not there to shop, check out the historical aspect of it and see the gorgeous Tiffany dome! So many selections (and floors!). If you plan on looking for something as a serious shopper, be sure to leave yourself a good amount of time! It's huge! Great shopping experience :)
Very crowded during the holidays!! But wonderful place to visit!
The old Marshall fields store that macys has kept nearly the same as it's always been. We always go here at Christmas time for the walnut room, Santa, frango mints store window displays.
Overall it's the classic Macy's experience in here. Chattes with a friendly security guard and employee who both helped me find my way to a particular info booth. Wifi could use a boost as it was kind of slow. Chicago info centre also had a great staff member who helped me figure out how to obtain my Chicago Pass.
Macy's has been everything and a great selection for good prices. They need to hire more sales floor and cashiers.
This Macy's is huge..everything you could think of is there..
I do not like shopping, but it was cool to see the Historic Building.
Lots of selection, lots of sales. Beautiful building. Mediocre service
Great place to eat and take the family gets better and better as the years go by
The Sales Agent at Clinique, where I bought my product, was very nice and warm. She also told me this Department Store on State Street is the largest single department store in the World! I think she said there was 9 Levels of department store shopping at this location. I just stayed on the first floor and bought a bottle of Clarifying Lotion #4.The sales lady also gave me two samples for eyes, and exfoliate scrub for the face. It was very nice.
Good collection but have to search for assistance and merchandise seemed lil pricey comparatively
I have always liked this store, it is for me the perfect place to spend a whole day shopping
Why there is no zero score. I applied credit card, but never received it for more than 3 months. Made a call two month ago, but still not get the card. Today I made another call but they hung up.
Marcy's! Oh, how I love to do my shopping for clothes here at Marcy's store. They have a really nice brand and nice display that I honestly adored. The place is so clean and well organized. Also not to mention, they have lots of sales in their clothing section. I always love sales so I will be able to buy more clothes but I don't know of anyone who doesn't love sales.
Visited Macy's The Walnut Room for drinks and snacks before a theater event. Great place, great drinks and food, and excellent waitstaff. I highly recommend.
The store is a little dated and cluttered, which kinda adds to it's charm. Surprisingly reasonable bargains to be had for clothing and jewelry, as well as more expensive selections. Nice Christmas vibe when I visited, and great staff.
This is Marshall Fields old flagship store which is about 70 years old. But, it is well maintained and laided-out. What sets this store apart from other Macy's stores is that they have the best sales I have seen compared to their other stores.
Great spread of brands. Located in the down town area with easy access
Love the store, it's an amazing store is like shopping mall but all is Macy's in 7 floors!!
I really enjoyed buying in Macys. They always got the clothes of the brand I use and that way I do not have to waste time trying clothes.
This is a very well located place, the store was very easy to navigate through the areas, and the service was very good.
Very crowded but that is to be expected from the holiday season. Lots and lots of things to spend your money on. Great convenient downtown location. Also has two food courts which is nice.
Your grandmother's favorite store... Booooorrrrrrrrring! Lame choices. Feels old and dirty, claustrophobic. Dirty bathrooms... Very disappointing for the holidays, they did so little to make it feel festive.
If, as I do, you crave Marshall Field's Frango chocolates, and you simply must stock up whenever you're in Chicago, then you MUST visit the basement level of Macy's. Easily accessed from the red line of the metro (it runs right under the store and has an entrance leading right in), it's just an absolute must.
Just... Be prepared to be underwhelmed by the rest of the store, and in particular the customer service. Over multiple visits I've failed to be impressed by the inattentive, often rude staff.
But... Frangos!
A must if you visit Chicago Downtown. If you are late, do not expect to have many employees.
Friendly staff with a great selection of clothing. I just wish men's had a few more options.
Eh, this place is okay, not a BIG fan of Macy's. The food on the 7th floor, there isn't a lot to choose from maybe 6 places to eat? I haven't tried the iconic Walnut Room yet, but hope to some day, just cant sike myself up to spend a day with friends there. Perhaps when my parents are in town and maybe for Christmas. IDK something about it reminds me of Christmas.
Escalators broke, elevators were not stopping at certain floors. Was like a maze.
Only my 3rd time in Macy's wasn't crowded it was 5p on a week day, like kinda deserted I didn't know it was a fountain inside
This Macy's is also offering seven levels of shopping
Excellent experience. Found exactly what I went in for, got good discounts as a Macy's card holder, and customer service was quality.
