No valet parking. This year's Christmas ornaments were very disappointing. Ramp parking was outrageous.

Sad to see a once mighty retailer struggle to be relevant again. Rooting for the place!
My sons and I used to have a tradition of shopping at Marshall Fields on Christmas Eve. We don't since it has become Macy's, but I still shop there. If you can find a sale you can get a fair price on items, if not, good luck. Why is the perfume never on sale?
Aalayha from the Macy s bridal salon is a gem! She was very patient and sweet - We dropped in unexpectedly while on a girls weekend and Aalayha just rolled with it. She listened to what I was looking for, and worked with my friends to find me the perfect wedding dress and veil. She was very understanding when I told her that even though I knew I had found my dress, I wasn t expecting to even look for a dress, so I couldn t buy that day because I really wanted to have my daughters with me when I bought my dress. She gave me her contact info, totally understood and accommodated is when we were ready to reschedule. She even gave me a heads up about the dress becoming unavailable soon due to the new styles coming out. She knew I would have been crushed if that dress would have been unavailable. She even followed up and asked about my girls. Thank you so much Aalayha!
Unfriendly staff
High prices
Customer service and online pick up was slow they need more help there especially after 1pm a lot of people are taking lunch and going home from work then and some people are even coming out to shop like me, the men's department on the second floor was fine I had immediate assistance, the elderly gentleman was very helpful have a great evening and yes I will return.
Staff was very distant, coming to knowledge that this is very common for Chicago
Very nice store, very little staff ,they were not that helpful, and if you have big feet or wide feet or tall there is a very limited selection for anyone wearing a 2x or bigger size no Jean's size 36waist 30 legs at all, they spend more on how the store looks instead of what people need
PRICES UP... NO COTTON SWEAT PANTS. NO POPCORN
MACHINE
poor management and buyer and i also find them to be racist
I love the little sections of designer duds designated for clearance. I purchased an entire fall wardrobe of Michael Kors for 300 and change.
Great atmosphere, great sales and always great customer service... I love the holiday decorations
The quality of service in this store has gone downhill drastically and that's not just because it use to be Marshall Fields. I worked in this building for 3 years and the service then was a higher caliber to what it's dropped to now. Associates are more concerned about socializing with each other than helping a customer. And why does it take forever to get someone to a register ... during non peak hours at that.
This is the classic Marshall Field's, even though it's now a Macy's. I normally only come here to do the Santa thing with the grandkids and maybe a meal at the Walnut room. It's always full of people and the staff are very helpful.
Loved the prices and discounts!
The service was Slow, but friendly.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Used to be a great department store. Now has a lot of junk, and some good items. The on line experience is awful as I ordered an item to be picked up and days later told the item was unavailable. I will avoid this old gem.
Nice staff and great place to shop. A lot of deals and good products.
Great shopping experience. We walked in just to looks around and we got out with $100 worth of stuff and not just one item. Even if the store is on the higher-end in prices they have a lot of sales and can find great pieces at a very affordable price. Very friendly and helpful associates. Loved it!
Even if you are not a Chrismas time shopper, just come to visit their amazing Chrismas decoration.
Need more worker's on staff. Poor customer services
Too expensive, not worth the price. Very few sale items
Quite a huge store with a lot of products !! Friendlu employees
One of my favorite stores to shop at when I'm downtown
Amazing interior but did not see clear directory or sings around the store. Confusing for new visitors.
Not too crowded even in a Saturday. Even have Xmas themed stuff.
Nice hotel , very nice helpful staff . Central location . Highly recommended . Just be careful at time of checkout that u all paid right because I got some trouble which took weeks to sort out
Absolutely gorgeous store. Its an iconic staple of Chicago and a very large part of my childhood. In my opinion, the crowning jewel of the entire building is The Walnut Room. Great service, family friendly, and reasonable prices all throughout.
In addition to the good assortment of products the building is worth knowing
State St. Store a very helpful sales person by the name of Ann, was on her customer service best. Thx u
Good place for shopping nice collection for all ages
Went to the Walnut Room. Nice wood furnishing, more upscale feel with very reasonable prices. Will be back
Beautiful original Marshall Fields store on State Street.
Love it. Usually hunt for sales cause some times its so cheap that you have to check it twice. Dang. Always have things that I want.
I decided to return 3 overcoats at the state street location, previously Marshall fields. I bought the coats online and thought it would be easier to just stop by the store. WRONG. For how big that place is, I went to the 2nd floor where I found a cashier desk and waited there for about 10 min and couldnt find anyone. I started walking around and found another cashier desk by the Timmy Hilfiger clothes and the first thing I see is a staff member turning away a customer to explore on his own when asked if he knew the location of some shirts. He tell The customer he doesn't know because he is just filling in and doesn't work that particular area. The customer walks away looking confused. When I approach the staff member I tell him that I'm returning item I bought online and ask him if the order number is what he needs and he tells me to give him everything I have because he doesn't know what exactly what to do. I tell him I have the order number and the CC I bought it with and that's it. He sarcastically says he can't just make up and order if I have what I need that it'll work and if not he can't do anything. Those comments were completely uncalled for. The guy just overall didn't want to be bothered and his attire looked like something he wore the night before, woke up and went straight to work with. If you don't have to, don't bother going there. There's plenty of other stores around where you'll get treated like they appreciate your business.
Love Macy's! There's always a sale. I get all my perfume here.
It's a good store, but it is not.the old Marshall Field.
You can never argue with the amazing deal Macy's offers. However, I tend to stay away from this location due to it ALWAYS being over crowded & understaffed.
Big shop, a lot of things for any occasion. However, I don't really like this particular Macy's. It smells sometimes and needs to be repaired, as I think.
It's my favorite Macy, much better than NY. If you go shopping, stop by the customer service center to get a voucher that gives 10% discount on purchases.
Despite the fact that this place is so huge and one of the biggest shopping centers in downtown you can't get a jeans in 32/36. As well the whole place is really old fashioned. It definitely needs a renovation and an update product catalog.
Ordered online...upon pickup it to 20 minutes for Customer service to check me out.
This store is absolutely humongous with many levels featuring fine apparel & shoes for women, men, & children. There is an extensive bridal section as well.
What a disappointment this store is with their Christmas windows. Marshall Fields did such a wonderful job. Since I was little my parents would take me to get hot chocolate and go look at the beautiful story Marshall Fields put together and it never disappointed. I take my parents and my daughter this year and it was such garbage. Only 4 windows were decorated and it was terrible. What a shame that a tradition must end because of laziness.
Macy's is a staple in the retail landscape. They generally do a good job at retailing.
Such a lovely place and huge. The Christmas season are The Best to go around there.
Beautiful store. Mostly at Christmas, for decorations. Great merchandise however expensive. But if you want something special you find everything you want.
Plan to take your time. There are a lot of floors and a lot to see. We didn't get much until we went to the sale section, then we started to find a few things we liked with prices we could live with. Walnut room was booked with private party so we couldn't even see it, bummer. Pay attention to which side you come in on because there are exits in every direction, they are all labeled though so just take note of it.
So much to choose from! Its kind of addicting. I seem to go here before work alot. Haha. Anytime i need a gift or something for my kids or even myself. This is the spot. And they are always having sales. Christmas time is very busy, but very beautiful. Want to be in the Christmas spirit, this is the place to go in December.
Great Customer Service. Lovely layout and easy to navigate. The workers there understood what my needs were. I would go back again to this particular location.
The first attendence was not good.... Maybe because I look poor guy...
The tree is beautiful as always, a must see Chicago tradition.
Amazing.

Still a Chicago landmark...Even though we'll always know it as Marshall Fields!
It was magical, I went into the store and it was Christmas time inside. I loved it.
