Im so sorry your flagship store in Chicago was damaged and looted. You practice excellence. Those who victimized you accept existence in mediocrity. I am praying for all. Peace on earth

Despite the fact that their system was not working, the employees and managers went out of their way to please me... thank you so much for the extra effort. I'm definitely coming back
Amazing display of local culture and innovations around holidays. They never give up on traditions set by Marshal Fields.
Good selection of products. Wonderful shoe department. Staff are helpful, but in short supply. Layouts can be confusing.
Great selection and you can often find great deals!
After holiday sale is always great, smaller selection but nice items, priced right.
Large store with immense selection. I stopped by to purchase a smart watch. I attempted to purchase a smart watch online with some difficulty causing me to have to purchase it in person. At first the store associate had difficulty finding the watch but she continued to look and she ended up finding it.
Lunch at the Walnut Room was great, and enjoyed the beautiful Christmas decorations.
No purchases this day, however, the wait staff was wonderful and the fairy princesses walking around making the children (and some adults) very happy, sprinkling fairy dust while they make wishes.
Great deals and as big as some shopping malls. A beautiful building with amazing arcitecture and shopping bargins to boot.
Iconic store. Beautifully decorated for the holidays
If your in Chicago around Christmas go and check out the window displays.
Very large, lots of supplies, especially clothes, for a reasonable price.
Messy and Homeless people everywhere. Very unsafe for staff and customers

Great !!! You find the main fashion brands, super organized per floor / audience. Even if you do not want to buy anyhing, I recommend you visit it. They have always great seasonal decoration
//
Excellent !! You find the best brands, everything beautiful and organized! Well worth the visit, even if you do not buy anything, because the decor is beautiful
Customer service desk was so amazingly helpful! Great customer service & recommendations!
Decent selection, great location, reasonably priced.
Disappointed with the experience. Got no assistance in the perfume department. The T. H. staff in the girls department were disinterested in selling me anything, I had to work very hard to buy anything suitable for my daughters, they were all too busy gossiping (including the clearly more senior ones). I also was miss-sold a watch, bought the Tag Heuer Connected, but the young lady who sold me it lied about the features of the watch and then explained away why she couldn't demonstrate them, only when I got the watch home and charged it did i discover the truth. It is a nice watch so I'll keep it but I won't trust Macy's again, should have known better than to buy a nice watch from a department store. Also when I went down to the watch repair store for some basic adjustment to my main watch, there were no staff around and a line of dissatisfied people with nobody showing any interest in our custom. In the end went elsewhere, which perhaps I should have done in the first place.
Really huge store. You'll need time to find what you need.
Very nice Macy's! Very tall, like 9 floors, really enjoyed the free flower show!!!
It's humongous, always useful to know what you want beforehand coz you have to navigate between floors often.
Wonderful huge Macy's with great architecture and a huge tea room with good food plus a large food court plus centrally located near all the theaters.
Love all the brands and really clean, but why is it that all the cashiers in Men s and Accessories make you feel like you are bothering them. I had the worst experience trying to buy a tie for my boyfriend yesterday. No one wanted to help me and all the cashiers were just standing around. I feel like the culture of employed must be really bad...they really made me feel like I wasn t good enough to be shopping with them.
This is NOT a review of the store as a business, but as an landmark in Chicago's cultureal history. The building is vast and beautiful with a Tiffany glass dome from the 1900's on the inside. There are up to nine (I think) accessible floors with everything you could think about needing to purchase. It is certainly something that every Chicagoan needs to see and experience for themselves. Don't forget to try the Frango Mints!
Quality of walnut room has dropped to an all time low. I was on their waiting list and when I was 8 on list I was dropped from list. Menu isn't worth the trouble anymore. Very limited and not very good anymore. We've been going for decades and won't be back.
The ladies in cosmetics doted all over my 6 year old daughter when we asked for some lipstick. They put her in a chair, and treated her like a princess. It was a great gift of time and attention for Christmas, thanks Marilyn and Ms. Kristie!
Good selection but the sales people by the escalators are the worst
Large store with full selection of merchandise, including furniture and specialty shops.
As far as department stores go, the Macy's in downtown is nice. It's always clean and the sales people are friendly. However, the selection is limited, you can always find the items for a lower price and if you require any kind of assistance; good luck. Macy's customer service is awful. Since this location is so close to Nordstrom Rack, Tjmaxx and Marshalls, I rarely shop here. I'd be surprised if Macy's is still around in 10 years. They simply are not meeting the needs of shoppers today.
Very bad customer service at Old Orchard store. The cosmetic Manager was very rude and her sales associate back her up:(
Service here has really slid downhill. The limited staff here almost act like you don't exist.
The food court is ok but it takes forever to get there.
Quintessential department store with deep inventory selections, but it is hard to shop here now. In recent weeks, no registers were staffed. I had to head to men's shoes to checkout, but now even that staff has been cut. Part of the attraction if Macy's is the personalized service that it inherited from Marshall Field's. But you need the knowledgeable, sometimes multi-lingual staff to make that experience work. With such a great store, let's get it the staffing it deserves.
This place is huge with a vast selection of whatever youre looking for. The food court on the 7th floor is also not to be missed. I recommend the ramen or burgers.
The staff are rude and treat you like they were doing you a favor.
a bit warm inside for the large crowds, even during the winter- like weather
Chicago Macy's is a big store with good collection of branded merchandise at good prices. You will be surprised to get the premium brands at heavily discounted prices sometime. Nice helping staff. If you are an international customer you are entitled to get l 10% on the non discounted items. But tell them while billing.
Nice place for lunch. If you have a modest lunch, the price is moderate.
Pier Beauty on 5 I had hair breakage after going to one of the stylist.
Superb store in a historic building.
to renovate but superb
The staff were just awesome could not be more helpful and friendly - lovely restrooms too
I am go shop in Macy's this year and next year believe that
Old. It took the elevator more that 10 minutes to come, that store looks like it's about to crumble.
Daryl or Darrell, not sure how to spell it, in Men s dress wears was amazing. I went in there to browse khaki suit jackets and he was so helpful. Answered every question I had even before I asked it. After he helped me find he perfect Tommy Hilfiger jacket I was going to go buy some chinos. Then I realized I better ring the jacket out with him because he deserved the commission. I wouldn t have bought it without him. I would say one of the most pleasant retailer sales associates I have ever encountered. I hope to run into him again next time I shop here.
BEAUTIFUL DEPARTMENT STORE. TRUE AMERICAN. MUST SEE IN CHICAGO.
Always a mess, super hard to find things. Three stars for usually dealing with nice employees who are helpful.
They could co brand this store as a corn maze and pick up a whole new audience. But seriously, it's a maze to find things, could use more signage. And inevitably there's a line at cashier or you have to walk the maze to find one. But i do all my shopping here so there's that.
Found great deals on bath bombs and makeup bag great customer service every time I go.
Store has tons of good deals on men's clothes if you're willing to be patient and sift through an unorganized clearance section. It's also unbelievable hot in this place.
Had everything we needed. Check out the Tiffany ceilings over cosmetics
Great ambiance and very pleasant experience. I enjoyed the customer service and I loved th eclothing!!!! I love to shop so it felt like home but knowing the history is sad for the company that was there earlier
What happened? Despite being the holidays, the store shouldn't be a complete mess. Merch all over the floor, shelves in complete disarray, watch/jewelry cases neglected to where you can't see through the top because they're so scratched...wow.
It is, however, consistent in that each floor up you go, the ambient temperature goes up 9 degrees. If you come in wearing layers, you'll be in your skivvies by the 8th.
The Starbucks cafe in Macy's has a new feel to it since it's now in the store. I like it!
Gloria days are long behind this archaeological curiosity of days long past when shopping was truly glamorous. Service is still solid despite crumbling infrastructure. Needs so much love, they likely won't do it. Furniture section is actually first rate.
