Great shoping Store! always find what i need.their sales are terrific!
Massive flagship location located in the former Marshall Fields. This is a very old building playing a big part in Chicago's history. It is definitely a touristy destination and is accessible via the redline and underground pedway. There is a cafeteria located on the lower level, as well as 3 Starbuck locations, a fine dining restaurant, the Frango Cafe as well as a sports bar located inside Macys. Around holiday time you must check out their window displays, which are a Chicago tradition dating back to the days Marshall Fields created some of the first window displays. There is so much greatness in this building along with its history. Must stop here if you are in Chicago! Don't forget to grab some Frango chocolate while taking in some of Chicago's retail history.
The last act areas make the store feel cheap. I get that they're helping with sales, but in this specific store, being a flagship, I feel like they could be done better
Many brands and huge store
Offers great discount in black Friday sale and was the only store open from Thursday evening to friday
Customer service is NON-EXISTENT with this company. No wonder they have to close stores due to declining sales. Don't place an online order for store pick-up and think that you can cancel the order. Oh no the joke of a customer service department can't cancel the order!!! And don't bother calling the store in which you were going to pick up the online order; you will NOT reach a live person. All you can do is wait a full week "for the order to cancel itself" and then you'll be refunded your purchase price. Oh and also, if you call 1-800-BUY-MACY in this exact circumstance they will lie to you and tell you they will contact the online order dept. in said pick-up store to have the order cancelled. LIES LIES LIES!!!
This place is amazing! There are so many awesome things to look at. Make sure not to miss the mosaic ceiling on the fourth floor, and the view from the ninth floor! There's a tasty, inexpensive restaurant on the first floor, and amazing architectural details everywhere. Totally worth a trip, and the shopping is secondary. Enjoy!
Best place to be.
Beautiful Windows displays.
Christmas time is so magical.
Great Service very friendly.
You took away a family tradition that we have had for over 20 years. Very sad, we would take family pics on 8th floor and then have dinner in Walnut room. No access to eight floor. Walnut room food is mediocre at best. Less and less decorated windows ever year with themes
Our traditions just died this week.
Will my children and grandchildren have fond memories of sitting on phone or computer and ordering everything online or from Amazon. I hope not!
Is Amazon taking over the world! The death of all retailers and only e-commerce, gas stations, and restaurants will survive.
Sad!
Great Christmas decorations puts you in the Christmas spirit.
its ok maybe coronavirus changed how much more deals they had before March know its half empty
My second week of picking up the Make A Wish Letters
There is a great selection of shoes and suits, and the sales people are always really helpful.
I will always call Macys Marshall Fields, just habit! Love the traditional counter help in the makeup and fragrance sections. Departments are spread out amongst multiple floors with easy signage to navigate. Escalators and elevators are available. Food court is downstairs. And YES you can still purchase Frango chocolates here! :)
The service was great. Great place to buy makeup. They always have conventions. You can see gurus swarming around this place.
Great drop spot for tour groups easy access to Macy's and other Stores on Michigan Ave plus many places to dine at a plus Drop and Roll spot
Largest store ever with more than 2 levels of Men's clothing.
This Macy's is the 2nd largest department store in the world. It is huge. We walked through it just to have a look. There were 8 full floors of merchandise. The architecture and ceiling was amazing. If you are a fan of shopping for higher end items, then this is the place to visit. I recommend visiting if you want to admire the store for its architecture.
Great environment, there s something for everyone. Items are pricey since we talking about designer brands but you will find some deals. However the restaurant is not so great.
Nikko is fabulous he makes you feel very comfortable and welcoming. Either from home state or out of town. I recommend him 100%.
I had a good experience at Levinger Macy's downtown. I'm disappointed the Bakery is gone
It's a bit confusing how to navigate where you want to find what. They seem to have neverending construction and remodeling.
We had a awesome time at Macy's. We had breakfast in the Walnut room it was good but expensive. Our waiter BJ was very nice and Princess Snowflakes was a true princes. Thank for such a magical day.
Great place to do some Christmas shopping. All the decorations certainly put you in the holiday spirit. Fun watching all the kids' excitement outside viewing the holiday windows.
If you love department stores, you're gonna love this one.
Crowded, overpriced. We come every year to look at the decorations but they are dated and underwhelming.
We will be back!
I was looking to return a Christmas gift, and when I asked an employee where the guest service desk was, she replied that everyone was in guest service and asked what she could help me with.
Not only did she help me find a replacement item, but exchanged right there.
We were at the Walnut Room for lunch and that chicken pot pie is awesome. Very nice place to go.
Decue by the interior arrangement the rez is very well arranged decorated but the floors resemble more a market than a beautiful store
Obligatory stop for lovers of art and architecture. The ceiling on floor 5 is monumental. They don't make them like this anymore. :(
I visit Macy's for Bridal selections. They have the best prices and they carry Lazaro Bridal gowns, my favorite. I also love the jewelery especially the diamond rings and gemstone rings. The prices are very good and they have great sales.
Like all department stores, finding what you are looking for is a problem. Once I found it, they had they had a big selection. Price was very good too. Have to add the Christmas decorations were up and that alone was worth the visit.
I did not see any sales that were unusual.Regular sales mostly. If you like non-busy,the store was not at all busy with people. Not even a lot of window shoppers either.
There is no other Macy's. Of course there was Marshall Field's, but this store seriously has EVERYTHING! If you can't find it here, it probably does not exist. Check out the two dinning options on the 7th and lower level floors.
Even though it's Macy's, it will always be Marshall Fields to me.
Customer service is terrible. Slow, unhelpful, and confused. Not a one-time occurrence.
Busy, hard to get around, a lot of things not available.
Macys has their Christmas items out and its wonferful!!!
I went in to find a winter coat and the floor it was supposed to be on was closed and I never did find the dress coats. I asked one young lady and she didn't know. Overall experience was very positive. I was given very good service in the shoe department.
Macy's has this amazing Victorian Stained Glass exhibit in the walkway from subway that is amazing and you should make the effort see it.
Felt welcome by all the employees from all departments. They were friendly and helpful.
Didn't buy anything this time but great atmosphere.
Way to go Macy's, you took a HUGE Chicago tradition at Christmas time and completely destroyed it. Marshall Field's used to do the store windows for Christmas in different themes about the beauty and goodness of the season. The grandeur of the store was palpable blocks away. The displayed in the windows were beautiful, intricate, handmade and drew people in from all over the place to see. I will never shop in your store, just on that very principle.
Looks like the last of the brick-and-mortar stores I like so much
Good place to buy or just go see. The only bad thing is the promoters who harass you in the store, that bothers you.
We always have breakfast by the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving at Macy's. Again a wonderful experience!
Paula , a sales rep on the candy, chocolate floor was very kind, very helpful!
All the good stuff is in the basement, food wine, liquor, candy & chocolate!
Great place to shop for anything you name it. Shop the sales. I especially love it here during the holidays. Visit the walnut room for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Kinda lower quality than I remember it. Rude employees too
This huge department store has a huge selection of Men's and Women's apparel. They also have really nice Christmas decors which go on sale 2 days after Christmas. There's also a small food hall at the Lower ground. The store has access to Blue Line Washington Station and Red Line Lake Station.
Pretty good clothing, but the building feels like 2nd century Rome
Get your membership card, shop during great sales, check out the starbucks in the basement and make sure you get a carton of Franco's chocalates during Xmas because they are really cheap than.
