Macy's rarely has the items from the window in stock and if you wear women's shoe size 9 and up you have to shop online. They don't even offer to arrange it for you like other stores

This marvelous building is treated very shabbily. From broken doors and abused walls and tiles to elevators and escalators left off during store hours. The Macy's company seems to have no interest in maintaining this beautiful building.
Not marshall fields anymore got rid of everything that made this place fun to go to!
Great Christmas season stop food in Walnut Room phenomenal
Admittedly I am a Marshall Field's girl. I was sad when Macy's took over and changed names. I have wonderful memories of the little Swedish pancakes in butter and maple syrup, of petit fours, quiche, Christmas, Franco Mints. It is ALL GONE. I went to the Walnut Room, the room was shabby, and they divided part of the room into a wine bar? Yuck. There was a display of stained glass windows in the basement. They had some sort of pipe leak and it leaked all over two of the windows. Grrrr. The floors and elevators are in serious disrepair, the escalators didn't work. You can see where the building was beautiful, I remember when it was beautiful. Fields used to make Frango's on site... no more. They used to make their pastries on site, no more. They used to offer amazing food, no more. It used to be more of an experience, destination. Sadly, NO MORE.
We found everything in its various floors, from bed, table and bath, social and sports clothes.
I needed a pair of shoes quick, and I was impressed with the choices and helpful staff.
A great value when compared to so called outlet and discount stores. You can find better quality and selection with service to boot. Wide spectrum of merchandise throughout large store. Food and services available. Very good sales offering nice discounts. I prefer this store over most. I look for quality, style, & value and Macy's offers that. I like the personal experience and supporting brick and mortar stores and the people they employ. I feel that buying online cannot compare to the in-store experience
Huge. Attendants try their damndest, but it's huge. (Not a fun place to work)
As usual huge space and great selection not to mention the sale
I shop here all the time and despite it being a big name retail store, there are also tons of sale there. Especially, in the junior's department which always has about 10 racks of sales clothes. Macy's on state is right in the middle of everything downtown so I really love that there two food courts, the quick-y one downstairs and the nicer one on the 8th floor.
I enjoyed my experience at Macy's today I bought myself some Michael Kors Shoes for a great price on the last act rack.
Service for online pickups is horrible. Multiple times I have waited over twenty minutes just to be helped.
Ok for clothing
No longer the destination spot it was in past.
Ordered an engagement ring from this store and was severely disappointed by the customer service. Was told I would be updated multiple times and never was without me having to reach out to them to get any information and the whole process took about two months longer than it should have.
Very unique and beautiful architecture. Great decorations and nice staff. Not to mention a historic place in Chicago , I'd call it an iconic building in Chicago.
Love this store and it's service, and the clothes!
Not the most modern, but deals can certainly be found
Always love to go there and especially at Christmas
Very rude African American woman with glasses in the area rushed me out of the store and suggested that I shop in the clearance area will never shop at this location again
Who don't like Macy's the price though $$$$ but in my eyes it's always a good thing to get great quality merchandise. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of where things where in such a big store.
My favorite store. I love the fact you can use your coupons on clearance/sale stuff!
Fantastic assistance from Ann in the Men's Tailored department. She was helping multiple customers but checked in with everyone to ensure we were all very taken care of. She pointed me in the direction of exactly what I needed and helped me with additional items I didn't know I needed. :) If you're looking for a great value and top-notch customer service, ask for her by name!
Extremely busy during Christmas season. Had a great time. Very boujee.
It's a great place to go shopping, I just came from there to day.
Visiting Santa and then the decorated Walnut Room is a nice family holiday event. People are kind and friendly, and the 45 foot tree in the Walnut Room is impressive.
Lovely place a mini mall on one of the best streets in Downtown Chicago. Sales are always going on here
Beautiful store that goes all out for Christmas decorations. It's an attraction entirely in its own. Miss the Marshall Fields but perhaps the Macy's take over was inevitable.
Everyone on every floor was very patient and helpful .
Some employees are there just for a paycheck.... rude, obnoxious, and unprofessional..... You have to ask for help and ask them if they want to help you because they have an attitude... well it's you're job, not my fault you hate it! Go find something you rather do with you're time.....
I was there on the run. No time. Even so, I bought underwear that I didn't like in the end. Although paying with a credit card and having removed the tag from one of the pieces, I managed to return it the next day and get my money back via the card itself. Good service
TERRIBLE THE RETURN LINE WERE VERY LONG,CASHIERS WERE TALKING AND TAKING THEIR TIME
Fantastic place to shop for fashion and accessories. Truly an International ambience
An assume building, and just about anything your shopping for.
Thank you Macy's for staying open. Thank you too for offering take-out of our favorites from the Walnut Room. Our family enjoys visiting, shopping, and eating in your beautiful store.
I've been going to this Macy's for years because they have a large selection. Today I was stopped by security on my way out to, "talk to my about the unpuchased merchandise" I was holding. After I handed then my receipt then after realizing they messed up they said sorry and walked away.
Maybe if they put a little more effort into their customer service and hired loss prevention people who knew what they were doing they wouldn't have lost a long time customer today.
You can find clothes, purses, shows, accesories and everything you need.
Huge flagship store in Illinois with lots of character.
Macy's is Macy's. They are pretty much all the same. This one is fine.
Huge, lots of options, hopefully the restaurants inside were working.....
Disgusting costumer service. Ordered online for in-store pick-up. 3 days after order I got an email saying 1 of the 3 items was no longer available (assumed it was poor inventory taking). Then got an email saying item #1 was ready and I could get it ASAP or once the second item arrived. Went the day after item #2 arrived and...only item #1 was there. After a bit of a line and 15 minutes of an employee going to grab item #2 off the shelf because it hadn't been held for me, she tells me they are now out of stock....When I ask if i can get a refund, she tells me to write my info on the back of a receipt (that isn't mine) and I will be contacted when it is in stock and it will be given to me...so no item in hand, no refund, and no real promise of getting the item because the only promise of it is my info on a receipt that isn't mine and someone's word. When I ask for a manager's business card to complain about the online ordering (not even complain about the employees I've encountered that night) I'm asked to wait as they ask the manager...who apparently told them to tell me to f# off...I'm told to call the customer service line the next day. So no contact. No help. And got one third of my original order. Can't wait to check my cc statement to see what I was charged for. Never shopping there again.
Very rude staff at Women s shoes and bad return policy.
Y'all lp suck, black skin brother with the 711 cup today around 1, he sucks! ". Hire new staff.. I walked out the fitting room with my bright red pack back open for a reason you idiots .. I had some pants I was trying to match with the shirt.
a massive store with an amazing variety on offer with all the leading brands...!!
My girlfriend and I have been shopping here for clothes for a few months and we're pretty happy with the selections. The store has multiple floors with all sorts of merchandise, as Macy's does, but being a flagship store in the loop just makes it a little better. The merchandise can be expensive, so try to shop when there are sales and with coupons, otherwise checking out can makes you cringe a little.
Stopped in on State Street in the loop today. Amazingly friendly staff and helpful for current items abd clearance purchases. I'm a full time student looking for goid quality at a fair price. Excellent experience.
Real busy, but, with the holiday upcoming and a Saturday, go figure.
I totally applaud the people working there. They are some real gems. I was with a few people and as busy ad it was, the service was exceptional.
Famous department store, you will find everything with great offers, all brands in a silo site
I love that store. It's a magical place to walk into. The Christmas tree is beautiful and the bar is great. We were lucky to get a seat for four at the bar and we could see the tree from the bar.
Nostalgic but impossible to find anything without wandering around and don't ask anyone working there because they don't know either
The flower show is always amazing. You never know what you will find
First time back at this store since covid lockdown started, I remember by I don't buy anything but cosmetics here. Also note fitting rooms NOT open
Huge store, in a beautiful location. Ideal for Christmas shopping! They have many floors of different products.
