I ski here a lot. I love this place. It is a local favorite. This place does not have villages of restaurants and expensive shops like Breckenridge or Vail have at the base. This is just a great ski resort. The food is good at a reasonable price. The guests are mostly local Denver families. There is a lot of great terrain for any skill level. They have a great ski school that can teach you something no matter what level you are at. The free snow cat is awesome and it can be used to access very difficult terrain at very high altitude. I estimate that it will take over 200 hours of skiing to fully explore this resort. I love the 4 warming lodges located around the mountain that you can use to stop and rest. These are separate from the main lodge at the bottom. Most have bathrooms and one has food. Some can be reserved for private parties.
I find that I never wait in line at this place to get on a lift. I am not sure how they pull this off. I just love it here. There is a great atmosphere in this place. It is hard to explain. The first time I went here it was nice but it did not seem like much. The more I ski here the more I like it. I continue to discover new places to ski on this mountain that I have not skied yet.
I have no comment about the beginner area (The Valley). The Valley is separate from the main resort although it is close. I have never skied in this area or even walked into the building.

Great high mountain ski area about 90 minutes from Denver. Offers a wide variety of terrain for all skill levels and has a fun local vibe. Plus, usually among the longest seasons in North America (Oct. through May).

I have driven past Loveland and didn't think it looked so great from the I-70 but it turned out to be an awesome ski area and the price was the best I've seen so far.

On my military discount it was $40 for an all day lift ticket, but I think it was around $50 for regular folks so that's a great price already. The parking was free and was a minute's walk to the ticket booth and lifts (I got there early enough, late folks had to take a shuttle).

The mountain, the first part of the mountain up lift 1 was pretty typical skiing from my experience of 5 areas in Colorado so far. Lift 2 and beyond is where this place became very unique and awesome to me.

Lifts 2-8 take you into a bowl area where the lifts take you above the tree line and you can very easily pick your route down, and no matter what you do, find your way back to a non crowded lift taking you back up to the awesome skiing. It's an extremely beginner and intermediate friendly mountain, the majority of runs are rated as intermediate and I would agree. Occasionally I found myself taking a wrong turn into a black diamond run but those are manageable by intermediate skiers taking it slow.

For me the highlight was lift 9 taking me to the top of the ridge above 13,000 feet where I could also look over the crest and see Keystone and Breckenridge. There always seems to be a manageable way down the mountain and the further out into the bowl you go the less crowded it gets. Lift 1-2 had a lot of kids, lift 8 was very uncrowded.

The lodge was also fairly priced, the prices were barely above what you would pay for even if you were not skiing, the beers were $5. The only lift line that bothered me was the after lunch line for lift 2. It's easy to get away from that one once you get back on the mountain.

I really enjoyed this place and will return, I imagine with a lot of fresh snow and no winds to shut down certain lifts this would be a 5 star place.

The staff was very kind and very helping. When I first went I did not know any thing about snow boarding but after two days of lessons I was pretty good. I did fall once but they helped me back up again. I can t wait to go back.

Firstly, the customer service is A+. Lance in the ticket office went above and beyond in helping me purchase my season pass. I had a unique situation and he handled it with kindness. The facilities are fantastic and pricing is much cheaper than expected. I figured food would cost double what it should, but everything is reasonable, especially for a ski lodge. I'm far from a veteran on the slopes, but from what I tell the runs here are well maintained, fun, and plentiful. I don't see myself getting a season pass anywhere else. Ski Loveland!

Best bang for your buck. If you don't have any ski gear or snow clothing, check out the Day Tripper package. Currently $119 for an all day lift ticket, bib, jacket, gloves, helmet, goggles, plus snowboard or ski gear package. The trails are well maintained and have enough variety to keep you busy all day. Also, the bunny slopes are easy and the staff are helpful to beginners.

Great place to go skiing for beginners and advance. It s setting is in the beautiful congenital divide, the prices are average for the area, and it offers a day trippers package. We took advantage of everything. The beginner area was perfect for my wife and I to teach ourselves to ski, using YouTube! We thought we could graduate to the more advanced area but didn t.

Highly recommend for Daytrippers because not many ski areas offer to rent everything for a simple and low price.

Just great.

Just great.
Best prices in town
Great facilities, we are beginners so started at the valley location - mile away from the main area- they have a free shuttle so you can go back and forth as you please.
Service is veeeeery good!
We had a lot of fun in this place.
If you are visiting Denver area, this is the place to go.
You can go a little bit further to Brekenridge but is more than double- although is amazing

My wife and our young daughter skied here last month and had a great time. Our daughter spent time at the ski school and I can't say enough good things about her experience. Everyone was so professional, considerate and helpful. This was my daughter's first time on skis and the staff made it a great experience for her. Thank you! Prices are reasonable for ski school and for lift tickets.

We went the day after Christmas. The lodge had a good pasta and salad plate to eat for lunch that was good. We shared a plate. It wasn't too busy. It wasn't powder but it wasn't ice either. It is so beautiful up there.

Season pass last year. 4 pack this year. All types of terrain, chill spot with minimal lines. I was a little bummed the beginner terrain park wasn't there this year and lift 4 was closed. Still had plenty of mountain though.

Awesome!

Awesome!
Great place to learn.
Lodging isn't close.

Very cool ski resort that is a little underestimated. It does get windy and icy up there at times, but I have also been on days with amazing snow conditions! I have had a lot of fun on this mountain.

I honestly don't have much to compare Loveland to because I haven't been anywhere else in years. The runs are great and we'll groomed, the lines are short, and it's one of the least expensive places to ski/snowboard. I also especially appreciate how close it is! Love Loveland and really can't see myself going anywhere else!

Haven't even been yet but have to tell you that the online ordering system is TERRIBLE. Please try to get tickets some other way! I spent almost an hour arranging lift tickets and lessons for our company outing. When I tried to pay I kept getting an error message and was referred to Ticket Sales. Ticket Sales sent me to reservations where I explained my situation. Ticket sales agent sent me to his manager, Christopher. I'm an hour and 20 minutes into the order by this time and I asked Christopher if the rep I just told my story to had apprised him my situation. He said no and that he wasn't going to be able to help me if I continued to have "an attitude". More than an hour of lost productivity on my part and he can't imagine why I have "an attitude". Anyway, I have to verbally submit my entire order over again and for my trouble, I got charged $100 more than the website pricing.
Christopher explained that the online pricing was dynamic and that others must have gotten the tickets (they were on my unfulfilled Cart) and that locals in Colorado typically get those first ( I'm in Colorado). Lot's of BS and "customer service" run around. Let's hope the skiing is worth it.

Not a destination ski area. No hotels, no restraunts outside the lodge. Packed with locals and lots of tele skiers. My favorite, a lot of terrain above treeline so exposed and steep up top dropping into trees. Feels a lot like backcountry/mountaineering terrain versus trails cut into the hillside. Pockets of powder fall or are blown in nightly for regulars and some windpack softens when the sun comes around the cirque so timing can be important on bare days. Runs are not the longest or steepest, and the double black diamonds may not compare to the legends, but Loveland is the perfect challenge for my 50 year old tele legs. Small terrain parks and not much grooming combined with moderate runs, powder stashes and a backcountry feel might explain this telemarkers paradise. A happy place but breezy so bring your balaclava. The prices on food and beer are entirely reasonable, and now I've said too much.

I've been an avid snowboarder/skier for over 20 years now and just moved to the front range from a mountain town and got a Loveland pass. I was taken out at the base of the bunny hill by a total out of control guy wearing jeans who went straight from the top full speed to the bottom and crashed right into me. I'm the only thing that stopped him, was a super hard hit! I was very lucky that I was between him and my 4 year old (who I ski with in control on a leash) or else there definitely would have been blood, broken bones, and a flight for life out of there. I was thrown to the ground with my ski wrapping around twice and blew my knee!! There were 3 employees at the scene that did nothing and let the guy leave (I was on the ground in pain and my child was crying so I couldn't pay attention to other people at that point) which is totally against the rules, you never leave the site of an accident on the hill, nor should a employee let that happen. One employee actually said to me "well you know this is the beginner hill" like it was no big deal that he took me out that hard & blew my knee! Then as I was sitting up trying to catch my breath a snowboard with no one on it was flying down the mountain heading right for my 4 year old and I, I pushed her out of the way & had to lean way over to keep it from hitting us! NO one from Loveland even helped us or approached us this entire time. A couple from MN that used to be ski instructors helped me up and said they couldn't believe how poorly it was all handled by Loveland. It has now been 7 weeks, I have a blown knee, and no health insurance!!!! I tried calling the front desk to tell them what happened once we got back to our car, they were super RUDE and one girl hung up on me! I then called the marketing guy there who did nothing to help me either. Who gets hurt on a mountain and ski patrol doesn't even come?!?!?!? The employees should have instantly called ski patrol over! This never would have been handled so unprofessionally in the mountain town I moved from, never. Loveland needs to pay WAY closer attention to who is putting themselves on the bunny hill or anywhere else on the slopes for that matter. It's the most dangerous place as people are learning, and there needs to be continuous supervision in those areas...and they need employees that are actually trained to take charge and be of service when something like this happens. I can't believe a Loveland pass is going to cost me over $5,000+ for the winter as I will eventually need to get surgery once I can afford it. They not only ruined my winter season and I can't even use the pass I purchased, they have also ruined my entire summer as I will be out with a bum knee...from some out of control never been on a mountain idiot in jeans (who was probably DRUNK!!) that the employees let just up and leave. They are very lucky nothing happened to my 4 year old. I have spoken to lawyers and trying to figure out the next route. The guy that hit us should have been held 100% responsible and not allowed to leave. Ski patrol should have been called over immediately. It was all handled extremely unprofessionally. So DO NOT LEARN TO SKI OR RIDE HERE and DON'T get hurt on Loveland! They will do absolutely NOTHING for you!! I will NEVER purchase a season pass or lift ticket here again.

They bill themselves as a family-friendly ski area, yet there are snowboarders filming each other jumping over slow signs at the bottom of the lift and ski patrol just skis right on past. Jumping over slow signs sure seems like reckless behavior to me- apparently the signs on the lift towers stating that they don't tolerate reckless skiing and snowboarding are just there to look pretty.

My day was cut short after I suffered a leg injury because the lift operator wasn't paying attention.

Loveland is my favorite place to ski! The traffic is better leaving from here too. I don t have a 4wheel drive so I have been able to take the Snowstang bus from Denver to the ski resort. All the benefits of the ski area and none of the driving! Never any wait for the lifts and the price is great for a single day pass compared to other resorts in the area. Check it out!

Loveland is a wonderful place to ski and to cut your teeth skiing! They have very reasonably priced lessons and lift tickets, their food isnt expensive, their shuttle busses are frequent, and they have a good selection of runs.

I'm new to skiing this year, and the Loveland Valley is a nice gradual place to learn, the Basin has a few greens, but mainly more intermediate and advanced stuff. I thoroughly enjoy every time I've come here.

Adults lift tickets are $75, kids' are $32. Just tried it for the first time and it was good. On a Friday, it was far from deserted, but it wasn't overcrowded, and we almost never had to wait for more than a minute in a lift line. We thought that the slopes were a bit faster and steeper than equivalently rated slopes at Snowy Range.
