I got there at a super busy time (all of the parking lots were close to full) and my friend and I parked, took a shuttle, paid/got fitted for/rented our equipment and were at the top of a ski slope within 1 hour.

The prices are great on everything!

Very friendly and helpful staff, it was my first time snowboarding and they took great care of me. Definitely going back ASAP.

Edit: I have been 5 times now and this place is the best. Price, convenience, and ski route options are worth a 6 star review.

This is one of our favorite ski areas. Very high, great snow, beautiful views. Not crowded!!! Lots of extreme terrain to explore. Often avalanche blowing. Reasonable pricing. On the other hand, rather slow lifts and I70 driving... But that's very much paid off by the amazing beauty and wildness of the place!

The Loveland ski and riding school is absolutely excellent. The instructors give really good advice to form good habits on the slope. They are patient and informative. They make sure you're absolutely comfortable before moving on to the ski lift and larger slopes.

First time snowboarder at Loveland, and I had a blast! My instructor, Stacey was awesome. I had private lessons for three days straight (as exhausting as it sounds lol), but I was able to learn a ton. So excited to come back soon!

As a beginner, i had a great time at Loveland. The first timer season pass which includes three lessons was a great deal. The management and training staff is pretty good. It closer to Denver than other resorts and would definitely recommend it for the beginners. The runs in the basin are great.

This ski area has certainly grown in popularity over the past 5 years that I've been a season pass holder. Lift lines are short, especially compared to the big resorts. Their instructors have been great and are considerably cheaper than big resorts, which make this a great place to learn from beginner through advanced. The other staff at the ticket booth, stores, and food were equally welcoming and helpful. I particularly like the free parking and shorter drive in the morning and afternoon. Of course, you get more days for your season pass since Loveland tends to be the first or 2nd mountain open every year (usually a month or so before the big resorts). And when you consider the lift/season passes are about half the price of a large resort, Loveland is a no -brainer great deal!

Love it. Inexpensive compared to a lot of other places. Good tree runs, blues, and blacks. Had an awesome powder day there. Everyone always seems to be in such a friendly mood at Loveland.

Do yourself a favor and ride Loveland, and here is why.
I have ridden most of the mountains in Colorado, and there are a few I love, but Loveland is one at the top and it's because of it being privately owned. The amount of money it costs to ride many of the mountains along the i-70 corridor is sick, and it's because your supporting the over commercialization of larger ski conglomerates. I still love those mountains but Loveland is more of a "locals" feel, and you don't sacrifice riding quality for it. Large mountain with many different features and areas to ride for all styles of riding.
Ride the ridge! The snow cat riding gets you to some amazing back bowls with views from the top of the continental divide.

Loveland is a great ski area that will cost much less than the larger resorts. There is a good mixture of easy, medium, and difficult trails. I was there on a Monday in mid-December and there was no waits for the lifts.

Beautiful basin and mountains! The facilities are wonderful and the experience was better than most I've had in Colorado. I would be here all the time if only there were high speed lifts! The terrain was a little rockier than expected but it's been a tough year for everyone . I can't wait to come back and barbecue and take these beautiful views in. The cat requires a waiver signed at the bottom but what a ride to look forward to! I can't recommend Loveland enough and their prices are very reasonable if you look around for a deal including Costco and liftopia. Loveland also offers a very reasonable season pass and mid-week pass! Stay Gold, Cheers

Locals and friends love this ski area as a vastly better alternative to the more distant and expensive destination resorts. Amazing variety of terrain, friendly and helpful staff, and an overall terrific experience close to Denver.

If you want traditional Colorado place to ski or snowboard this is it. Not fancy like other resorts but got everything you need to spend a day here. New fast lift is a plus. Also this is one of the ski are that stay open though May (depending on snow coverage). Come early since parking may be a challenge.

Went boarding here yesterday and absolutely LOVED it! For it being early in the season (early November 2018), it was fantastic. They had several runs open, a couple black/double black diamonds, and a couple of blue with a ton of packed powder.

Loveland has a small, local feel as opposed to the larger more commercial Vail or Breckenridge resorts. It s very popular with the locals and I can see why. Incredible skiing, not overly busy, and from what I could tell, some fantastic bowls to go nuts in.

There is one restaurant at the base of the mountain which was awesome. The food was fantastic, and the prices were surprisingly super cheap you read that right. There is also a small store, too. Parking is great. You can literally walk from your car to the lifts, and when done, board back down to your car --at least that's what I did.

Overall it had a rundown divey feel compared to the larger resorts, nevertheless, I actually preferred it and I can t wait to go back!

Loveland is a fantastic place to ski or snowboard. Very family friendly, and although it is smaller than the mega-resorts, it has a good variety of runs. Easily accessible from Denver and not crowded (short list lines!). Staff are pleasant, the terrain is well-kept, and the food and drinks are good. Always a pleasure to ride here - it feels like you are among friends.

Loveland is great- Proximity to Denver is key and it is cheaper to ski by comparison. I won't grade them on the steepness of runs, or the people that work there... Incase you didn't know, the mountains are a geological event and the people that work there are seasonal employees (like all resorts) that are more interested in skiing than being your best friend. The uphill access here is also a bonus.

The only thing about the Loveland Ski Area that I would change is the location of the bunny hill, it's down the street from the rest of the park which can be a hassle if you need to move from one to the other. Otherwise great park! Friendly staff, variety of good runs for every skill level.

#shred we made a 10 hour drive from MO to ski, we have not ever skied real snow, only man made snow in MO. We arrived close to open (traffic coming in and out is crazy) rented skis, boot, helmets, and poles. We had goggles and clothing. We started green to get a feel and comfortable, great views, snow was amazingly smooth and we'll groomed to help us rookies, over the 2 days we did all green some blue and 1 black (I made a wrong turn) it was a great time for any experience level. All the staff was friendly and helpful, I asked a few tips on things I was struggling with and got advice that was very helpful (not even trainers) #loveland #ski #familytime #snow

Great place to take family to ski. Friendly staff, good lifts and nice runs. The good is that it's close and that it has lots of good runs for kids. If you are looking for an expensive top of the line experience this is not the place for you, but if you are into no frills serious skiing this is the place.

This was the first time both my boyfriend I had been skiing however, unfortunately like others we encountered several staff members whom which were incredibly rude. I understand it was our first time, but that does not grant permission to make us feel stupid for asking simple questions. It felt like we were a huge inconvenience to some of them. One employee in particular was Ian. When asked a question about the rainbow tube he responded with, "I don't know, maybe if you read the sign instead of just looking at it you would know the answer." By the way, the sign stated for beginners to ask attendant if you have any questions. There were definitely several moments we walked away and all I could say to my boyfriend was " so much for hospitality". Despite these encounters there was one man who stood out who did take the time to give us some helpful tips to make our time more fun and enjoyable that we both really appreciated. I believe his name was Steve? (He was working where they give out the rental skis). Overall we had a fun time and it certainly was the most affordable option that we had found in the area (We did the day tripper package).

The price is right, but I guess you get what you pay for. Brought my daughter here last week and had a mixed experience. Like a few others have stated the lift attendants and rental workers were the rudest I've dealt with in over 30 years of skiing in Colorado. Not a smile or hello the entire day, even when we tried to engage them we were ignored or given a grunt in return. The actual skiing was pretty fun, although the warm weather made for poor conditions (icy or slushy), which isn't the resorts fault. Short lift lines and not very crowded was a positive. Only way I'd give it another shot is if an extremely cheap promotion popped up. Maybe it was a bad day for everybody, but I left with a bad taste. Rating is more like a 2.5.

Staff and customers laughed at me and made jokes about me the whole time. It was my first time and I was traveling alone so I was very nervous and very lost. I ended up leaving without even attending the snowboarding class I signed up for because I felt that uncomfortable. A word of advice to the newbies traveling in from out of state this not the place you'd want to learn to snowboard.

Small but mighty. Does not allow skibikes so head over the pass to A-Basin if that's how you ride.. Has mostly old fixed grip lifts without bars. If you need a bar on your chair, keep moving west on the interstate. Can be very windy and cold. Lots of fun terrain. Wages are low and the customers tend to be poor tippers when taking ski school lessons.

GOLD ST R CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE @ Loveland Ski & Ride School Thank you, Dan Huston & Stacy Smith @stacysmith6246!

Our 13 yo daughter, Ava, was just thrilled with her 3-hour private snowboard lesson with Stacy Smith at Loveland this past Sunday, January 20, 2019.
As a novice boarder, Ava had been feeling immensely frustrated with her lack of the most basic skills to navigate her board safely on the mountain. Specifically, getting on and off the lift with a board was an unexpected challenge. Dan Huston to the rescue!
I called Loveland Ski & Ride School Director, Dan Huston, to discuss Ski School lesson options available at Loveland. Dan set us up! (:
Ava had THE BEST private snowboard lesson with Stacy. She was so excited to share her new skills with us + a few tricks! Applause & Accolades to Loveland Ski School!

Thank you so much for such a positive experience!
Dawn, Mike & Ava

Everytime you go west through the Eisenhower tunnel, you see Loveland Ski area. Is it worth skiing - YES! Easily a day trip from Denver and plenty of terrain. Ticket prices are much lower than Summit or Vail county.

First time here was an awesome experience. The whole ski resort is much bigger than first glance and the terrain is top notch high alpine skiing. Bowls, steeps, and trees are available from almost every lift and you can access varying levels of difficulty all over the mountain. I would note that loading and unloading on their lifts can be intimidating for beginners due to their lack of Express chair infrastructure that is offered at many other resorts. Also due to its high altitude, the terrain becomes wind affected easily, but there is still plenty of terrain that is sheltered no matter which way the wind is blowing due the size and shape of the mountain. With the short drive from Denver, it makes this quality ski resort worthy of a trip for locals on a day trip.

Wow! The area is gorgeous.

Wow! The area is gorgeous.

Tip! when you book Beginner lesson, there are two sections of the Ski Area. Google map will lead you to the main sections, you must go to their small area for the beginner lessons. It right before you enter the Ski entrance.

Short drive from Denver -- get there early! Early season, a couple of lifts were open. $75/day lift tickets and $52 for adult boot/ski/pole rental. Cafe and restaurant (cafeteria-style) at the base -- affordable and hits the spot.

Loveland is a fun mountain with some awesome runs. They have access to so much of the mountain that there is a lot of variety. The drive up from Denver has a lot of traffic, however, and tickets definitely aren't cheap. Overall, I like Loveland ski area and I enjoy skiing it.

Loveland is for people who want to ski or ride only. It is not a resort. Loveland has the best deal for learning how to ski or board on powder in the country that comes WITH A SEASON PASS FOR LESS THAN $400. The staff is real friendly and it operates like a family run business which has its hits and misses but the staff doesn't seem bored or over worked like at the bigger resorts. Pricing is everything with Loveland and you get some of the best runs available in CO for half the price of other "resorts". Seriously you are not losing out by going here you are eliminating all the bs of the other places including gas, lines, rudeness and more lines. Loveland is your first stop going to the slopes which means when it comes to traffic your first off the highway and first on. I70 traffic can be horrible at times so get there early so you can hit the road early also. Loveland along with Georgetown for room and board can be a great experience. Both economical but giving you access to Colorado and closer to Denver being only an hour away.
