I had an excellent experience with Lighthouse Solar. Jay Johnson and Dixie Tyrrell guided me through the whole process of getting the solar panels and explained each step of the way. They are always easy to get hold of and helpful. I recommend them very highly.

We love the excellent, ongoing customer service six years after installation. Plus what s not to love about $10 monthly electric bills!

Lighthouse Solar installed panels on our home, and we upgraded to LED lighting throughout. We have produced more energy than we have used for the past few months, we now have a nice fat credit with Austin Energy to help us keep our bills low during the hot summer months. The team of Stan, Robb and Jeff and the crew were efficient and the panels look great. The tools they provide to monitor the system are fun to use. In the event of a power outage we will be able to run some of our appliances off of the solar also. Very happy with Lighthouse Solar!

In late 2012 Stan Pipikin s team at Lighthouse Solar led by Jeff Bindall installed both a solar photovoltaic system (generates electricity using the sun) and a solar thermal system (heats water using the sun) at our house.

The installation was first rate with Jeff asking the right questions and listening carefully to assure the installation was top notch not only to the best industry standards, but also met our particular needs and desires.

Both systems have run without issue since installation. The solar photovoltaic system has produced 28.6 megawatt hours of electricity. With the electricity production, the Austin Energy Rebates, and the federal rebate the system has now paid for itself. We expect the system to continue producing electricity at least to the end of the ten year warranty period so have at least six more years of free energy left.

The solar thermal is very efficient and was installed with a recirculating pump which assures we have hot water for showers and hand washing immediately instead of wasting the water while running it to get warm. It s nice not to pay to heat our water while at the same time saving water which would otherwise be wasted.

Jeff has checked in periodically to make certain the systems are working well and meeting our expectations. We re very happy with the performance of Lighthouse and the systems they installed!

Don't shop around....save your valuable time. Jeff at Lighthouse Solar is very knowledgeable, professional and very helpful with my existing system. He provided great options and wasn't pushy for a sale. Don't waste your time as I did looking for a Solar company, go with Lighthouse Solar.

Gave us the most competitive bid for solar during new construction for home in Canyon Lake, TX. All went perfectly as planned. A year later, experienced a serious hail storm, Jeff was out the next day climbing on the roof. Fortunately, all the panels survived intact. Much thx!

Since then, I have contacted Lighthouse a few times to help me learn how to use the Lightgauge application, to check how my system was performing, and to investigate why City of Austin had different usage numbers than the Lightgauge was showing. Researching a planned solar installation, after a couple of work colleagues provided positive feedback about their experiences with Lighthouse Solar I added their name to my shortlist.

Andy Hermandez arranged a visit with an assistant and together took readings from the roof that formed the basis of a comprehensive proposal that detailed size (power) of the system, costs (with tax credit and rebate info) and layout. Lighthouse Solar provided a competitive bid, a professional installation and also assistance in applying for rebates and seeking approval from my HOA. Followup service was also good, particularly with getting my Lightguage Data Monitoring working..

Pleased that I chose Lighthouse Solar and unlikely to have to pay another electricity bill again.

Looked at the other reviews and I don't have much to add. Our installation was fairly simple and we are in San Marcos. It was all done quickly and painlessly - these folks really want to do a good job and leave you satisfied.

Called to fix the web page which tells me how much electricity I'm making. I switched providers and had to reset the network. The tech walked be through it and it's working like a charm. Smart, helpful techs.

Three years ago Lighthouse Solar did a great job on the initial installation of our home's system. And this week they did a great job on replacing low-performing conditioners for two of our panels. Jeff Bendall and Corry (last name?) were particularly good on that repair.

My system consists of 14 panels, which were installed in August 2017. The system stopped working recently, and I called Ali. In less than 4 days my system was up and running. 13 panels are working, an optimizer needs to be replaced on the 14th panel which will be done as soon as the part arrives. I could not be happier. Their guarrantee service is great.

My husband and I had a great experience with Lighthouse. Firstly, they quoted us a great price with excellent panel quality. I was also happy to find out they install for TreeHouse, which typically uses high-quality installers. I also really liked their included monitoring software, which allows you to see both solar production and home consumption real time (an excellent tool for improving efficiency.)

The company is very good at all aspects of putting together a system, including the financial side of things. They also are good helping helping maintain the system after installation. They were great to work with. I wish more companies were that way.

Back in Aug of 2015, Lighthouse Solar installed a 7.5kW system on my roof. Design and installation went smoothly and for the last three years it just sat up there quietly cranking out power.

I regularly watch my energy production with the installed monitoring system and about a month ago I saw a weird blip. A few days later the system stopped producing almost completely. I reached out to Lighthouse and Jeff came by a few days later to diagnose the issue. After working with SolarEdge and trying a few smaller fixes, he determined the entire inverter needed to be replaced. Once the new one arrived Corey came out and within a few hours he had it installed and I'm back in business.

I'd like to thank Jeff, Corey and folks at Lighthouse for standing behind their product and getting my system back online. I'm hoping for many more years watching my system crank out power.

I have an older solar hot water system that had a broken pump. Jeff Bendall is one of the few (if not the only) people in Austin with the knowledge and skill to fix such a system, even though solar hot water systems are no longer a business that makes financial sense. Jeff was able to repair our system, explained what he was doing while he worked, and made sure any questions I had were answered. I would highly recommend Jeff and Lighthouse Solar to others.

Had a large (11 kW) photovoltaic system installed at my house in December 2015. Very professional job of installation and subsequent support as I tinkered with the reporting software. Lighthouse Solar not only installed (12) 250 watt solar panels but also a wind turbine. Both have been operating for a year and all is working great. We are on the grid so we draw power we produce and then any other needs are drawn from the power company and if we are producing more than we are using then it goes into the grid.

The price was very good, the quality of work was great, and all the people we worked with were very professional. Enjoyed the entire process.

Working with Rob was easy even though my wife and I had many design changes. The installation teams were fast and professional and didn't leave a mess like other work we had done to the house. This year, we purchased a new home that had Lighthouse Solar panels.
When our roof started leaking, I was worried that dealing with the solar panels might delay getting our repair done.
But Jeff was able to get us on the schedule quickly, and both the de-install and re-install jobs took less than a day.
We also got set up with their data monitoring, which gives us useful insight into our household energy consumption.

Lighthouse installed our 7.4 system (scoped by Texas Energy Experts) with real time production and consumption monitoring, and did a fantastic, clean job. Only one hiccup when monitoring went offline, and I got a call from their support as soon as I sent them an email. Turns out it was a firmware update, and they followed up to ensure all was working properly. So far very happy and glad to see the electricity bill credits.

We had Lighthouse install a solar thermal water heating system in 2011 and solar panels in 2013 and have been extremely pleased with both. Jeff is great to work with and goes above and beyond to ensure his customers are satisfied.

Worked with Stan and Lighthouse Solar to design a functional, yet beautiful frameless panel array above my carport structure on our new contemporary house. We developed a system to install these contemporary panels above a rough sawn cedar structure with a light steel framework. The results are unique, and my limited system generates almost enough electricity to get me to my net zero goal. Now that we are living in the house, and able to monitor our electricity generation and usage, we will be back in touch with Lighthouse to expand the system to meet our final goals.

Lighthouse Solar was great all across the board. They were thorough in their quote and their analysis of our particular location and sun exposure, which was a big deal for us. They also guarantee that what they install will produce what they promise, another plus. The customer service was great all along, Jeff Bendall- the project manager- was always our go-to person, always capable and on top of things. We love the system, love our investment, love to see credit balance instead of a balance on our monthly statement by Austin Energy. We feel we got a great service from a company that knows what it is doing and has a good reputation. Had too many experiences with " quick deals" in the past. Lighthouse Solar is the way to go solar.

The Lighthouse sales team was a delight to work with, and a breath of fresh air from other Solar companies in Austin.

First, I appreciate that Dixie sent me a full quote first, even before a phone call, to give me a ballpark idea of what Solar would cost. Second, Lighthouse use LG panels which are one of the top two or three best panel manufacturers. Third, their prices were lower than I expected. A larger competitor I had talked to first quoted me 40% more. And this comparison is apples-to-apples: exact same amount of energy produced, same warranties, and so forth. Finally, when Lighthouse quoted me on how much energy my system would produce, they purposely backed off their numbers by 5%, (compared to the industry standard PVWatts website), to make absolutely sure that my installation would EXCEED my expectations, rather just meet them. Breath of fresh air indeed! I am very pleased to recommend this company.

I was very well pleased with the young man who came out to service our solar system , his name is Correy Russ . Correy Russ is very professional ,courteous and a hard working . He had help one day a young man named Randy . By the end of the week a young man named Jeff Bendall was up on the roof helping Correy . Correy says that s my boss . Lighthouse installed my system many years ago and Jeff and the team have been super responsive for any and all questions and repairs. They also installed our pigeon guard and worked with me on a roof repair. Very professional and they do great work. Highly recommended.

I just finished hammering out an agreement to have Lighthouse Solar install a 4,875 watt PV system on our carport. The actual installation has not yet begun but so far I have been very happy with my interactions with Jay and Jeff. They are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, bending over backwards to see to every detail. And, of the 7 serious bids we received, theirs was the best for price and value. So far, they've got 5 stars from me. I'll post a follow-up review after the new system has been running for a while.

Lighthouse Solar was originally contracted to install my first set of panels in 2014, offsetting my bill by almost 50% by another company I was dealing with. Since then I wanted solar to, on average, "zero" my electric bill. So I contacted Lighthouse Solar directly, eliminating the middle man, which helped bring the cost of installation down significantly which made it make sense from a financial point of view. They recently come out and completed the installation and again did a great job placing the panels, routing the conduit exactly as I wanted it and painted the conduit to blend in with the house color. So far, I have not complaints on the overall professionalism and timeliness of their work. I have no problem recommending them for anyone's solar needs or desires.

I couldn't be happier with my solar system. I've had it 2 1/2 years now and Lighthouse took care of the few small issues that came up. Their initial forecasts of performance have been spot on as well - I produce about 80-90% of my total demand over the year. In addition, they did all the onerous paper work on the front end to ensure permits and rebates within the city of Austin.

Nailed it. Needed a deinstall/reinstall for a hail damaged roof replacement (solar panels were fine). Lighthouse Solar was easy to schedule, good communication, and did a great job. Crew was professional and left the jobsite clean.

I ran this request from design to final inspection while overseas! Jay and Jeff provided all the details I requested and ran through the system with me once I returned to the states. (2 days after our go live date). The crew kepted everything clean during the installation. The best equipment for my roof was choosen yielding a better cost per kwh than originally planned. When I experienced a problem they were right out to address it.

I have been incredibly happy with Lighthouse Solar. It started when William (no longer with them), came by to make sure he could get my panels online before the Austin Energy inspection. Then Jay was there when the inspection happened and answered all the questions I had, even reassuring the inspector that my neighbors trees do not block the panels (which they don't). Lastly, when there was an issue with a deal I made with the sales company Encore, which sold the system to me, Stan helped me immensely through the issue.

Excellent service! I called them to help with monitoring issue with our solar. The original company is out of business. Burke came out on 4th of July & checked for proper system operation & provided great direction for resolving monitoring issue.

Lighthouse was great in terms of price and quality. I requested quotes from 5 different solar installers. They by far were the best in terms of attention to detail. Great customer service by Jay Bramble and didn't try to oversell me.

They installed solar panel at my house 4 years ago, and managed it very professionally. Recently I had an issue because the Powerline adapter connecting the inverter to the internet broke, and they helped me find a replacement without requiring a service visit.

In times when getting a repair/service professional to call back in 24 hours, it's nearly unheard of to have all the repair issues identified and work starting in less than 24 hours! The Lighthouse Solar service team was responsive, professional, courteous and fairly priced for the work completed at our house in April.

Lighthouse Solar installed our solar panels about four years go. When we had an issue (turned out to be critters chewing on wires) I placed a call in the morning and left my name and address, since I guessed they might have that on file. Got a return call from a service manager in a few hours and he had already pulled up our file and was familiar with our system. He arranged for a technician to stop by the same day to analyze the situation. Once the issues were determined, I had a cost estimate that same day. Most importantly, we had a three person crew out the very next day to do the agreed upon work. Nice and professional workers. Crew chief communicated effectively with us (the client) and his home office to make sure they had everything needed to complete the job that day. Work was well done and we had our solar panels back up and working in less than 48 hours from that first call.

My panels are up and I'm just waiting for the city to inspect them. Lighthouse Solar installed our electric vehicle charging station, and a larger main electric panel to accommodate a solar photovoltaic installation in the future. Both their bid and the actual installation were very professional.
Recently the circuit breaker for the charging station began tripping, and after some diagnosis with the help of Nissan and Clipper Creek, it appeared that the most likely culprit was the breaker. Lighthouse agreed and came out right away to check the installation (which of course was fine) and replace the breaker, all under their warranty.

If you're shopping around for solar panels, let me save you a lot of time and just recommend you go with Lighthouse Solar.

My wife and I have always known solar panels were for us and we've went to the Pedernales Electric Cooperative's solar tour for the past 3 years. We definitely wanted to take advantage of the 30% federal tax rebate so in late 2017 we decided to have 5 different companies come out (again) and give proposals both for our roof, on the ground, and potentially building a large carport. We were shooting for 110% of our power being covered by panels. On a side note, Lighthouse Solar was the only company out of all the major names in Austin that would actually build the carport and do the solar panels. We thought about the carport option because we saw a house during the PEC solar tour that had a huge outdoor patio, made out of steel, with the roof being completely made of solar panels, that was put in place by Lighthouse Solar. It looked amazing.

In the end, we were able to get the 110%+ generation from our roof and decided to spend extra money on newer panels and microinverters to have a cutting edge system and to go over 110% rather than spending the money on the carport structure.

That's another great thing about Lighthouse Solar--they aren't tied into just one brand or technology. They will work to come up with the absolute best design and system for your house. We went back and forth with different options at least 4-5 times.

From the installation crews, to master electricians, to people in the office, to handling all of the paperwork and process of Pedernales, everything was performed with professionalism and the quality is top-notch.

The Pedernales electrician who came out to inspect the installation, prior to firing it up, even stated, "Lighthouse has been doing this a long time. They do a quality job."

We can now monitor every single panel on our house, anytime, anywhere, and see how much power they're generating.

So back to those quotes from different companies...no one came close to Lighthouse Solar. We could have honestly have paid $50k more with another company for the exact same system. The prices and quality of the systems (string inverters to microinverters, lesser-quality panels, etc) ranged dramatically among the 5 companies but no one was close to Lighthouse Solar. We got a top-of-the-line system for several grand cheaper than the next company, who was selling an inferior system for a higher price.

Lighthouse says they can do it because they don't spend much on marketing and they also don't have a sales person come to your house with a big sales pitch, folders, and flyers. I can attest to this and no complaints here with that approach.

Ask for Erik, he took good care of us. I have no doubt though that whoever you speak with or work with at Lighthouse, they'll take good care of you.

The process was simple and convenient. Within the next couple days he had converted them to a plan for installation and a review of financing options. We ve been so pleased with our solar array from Lighthouse we ve bought two more! I coordinated the installation of a solar array for my mother s property in the country. Every step of the process was great. The representative that helped plan and pick out specific products for her energy needs was fantastic! So much thought went into how/when she uses energy and what size array she needed. Furthermore, we had some pretty grand ideas about storage batteries and the team carefully and kindly walked us back into a more reasonable picture of what we should install now and to wait until better, more reliable products for battery storage were available (this installation was about 2 years ago). The design and installation of the array was so smooth and we are so happy with the product. The panels are installed on a ground mount obviously perfectly planned for solar capture, but the team also took into consideration our requests that the array be positioned in a way that did not block the view of the landscape and it also provides shade for pet pigs. Yes(!) the company made sure our array would do double duty as a pig shade. Every person we dealt with from sales to final hook up was knowledgeable and easy to work with. Like I said at the beginning, we so enjoyed the process and final product (energy bills are close to zero!) we ve contracted for an array on our own home as well as an additional family member s house. Highly recommend this company!

Lighthouse Solar did an outstanding job from start to finish on my PV system. I first attended a solar fair sponsored by my electric company, PEC, in Austin in the fall. Of the 10 companies represented, I selected 5 to solicit bids and received 6 proposals from 4 companies. All the companies knew my requirements and Lighthouse (and one other) came to my house with two tailored and detailed proposals and fully answered all my questions. After careful consideration, I selected Lighthouse. They offered high quality equipment (I did extensive research in the Internet). They were rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau since 2009 with no complaints. They use their own employees exclusively for the installation. AND, they were the most reasonably priced per watt ($2.54 ranging up to $3.61). They came out several times to inspect and to measure to insure they had their design right. They worked with me during the HOA approval process. On installation day, they arrived fully prepared with all the tools and materials. They paid very close attention the aesthetics and detail and completely cleaned up after themselves. They conscientiously followed up on items left undone during the main installation day. They coordinated with me for every visit and arrived when they said they would. The system, although just a few days old, is working perfectly including terrific online production/consumption data monitoring. I am very pleased.

Jeff came to our house and talked to us about the best location for solar panels and the condition of our roof and anything that would need to be done before they could install them. That included him getting up on our roof to check the conditions of the shingles and the best placement due to locations and roof angles. The next day we received the formal quote and financing options. The work was fast and thorough.

We had solar panels put on our roof six months ago and have had negative electricity bills ever since. Lighthouse solar rocks, it was easy, they walk you through the design, rebates etc you can't go wrong.

I had my solar installed by lighthouse about two years ago. Love getting my PEC bill to see the true impact. Now I don t have to feel bad when I crank my air conditioner down. Loved working with them, they were super knowledgeable and handled all the paperwork I needed except my HOA approval, but that was easy. Now I keep my house a few degrees cooler than I used to and my bill is super low still!

About 4 years in on our solar system installed by lighthouse. Couldn't be happier! Called recently to get help with our lightgauge solar monitoring system. Service was friendly and issue was resolved quickly. I love how we can see how much energy we are using versus how much we are producing.
