For early April, the snow was great. The prices were better than the bigger resorts in summit county and much less crowded.

I'm still getting the hang of things and Loveland is an excellent spot for beginners! There is a ton to do at this level and a whole lot more once I get better as well!
Dont eat the food. Personally witnessed and photographed multiple violations. Clear creek co was very interested. Slopes are just so so. Plenty of other better ski areas around. Dont waste your money.
This was my first time to ski and thoroughly enjoyed It! Everyone was helpful and the class made it a much more enjoyable experience. I would definitely go back!
This place is absolutely amazing just a short distance out of Denver and you're in skiing Paradise
Best place ever! ... look out for the mystical creatures tht appear on occasion...
One of the best ski areas in the world!. But they don't have jumps unfortunately
For an April Saturday we couldn't believe how good the snow was and the wait on the lifts were very minimal. Happy as can be!
I don't usually post good or bad reviews but I had such a GREAT experience at Loveland that I feel compelled to do so. The Ski School is completely separate from the other lifts so there are less people and not as intimidating.
I registered for an the Adult Level 2 group lesson. The class size was fairly small so we were able to learn a lot of tips instead of having to wait on those not as knowledgeable or experienced.
The ski instructor, Tom, really made the class worth it as he taught with confidence and patience. He was very attentive that I was impressed that he remembered all his students' names within 30 minutes. He first checked on our abilities to see where we were at with stopping, turning, forming wedges. Throughout the lesson, he would give advice for each student, even for those who were getting the hang of things. Definitely will come back here with family and will recommend to others.
My fiance and I visited from Alabama and we had a great time. It was our first visit to Colorado and Loveland provided us with a perfect day skiing. Everything is very clean and the employees are great. Thanks!
Loveland is great - super cheap, great terrain, and not crowded. It doesn't have the most vertical, the most number of lifts, or the fastest lifts but it has great value and still manages to be a ton of fun. The only downside is that there is no lodging on-site so you're stuck driving from Georgetown (not much there to do) or Frisco (a longer drive through the tunnel). Neither is a particularly challenging drive but it's nice to be really close to the slopes and not have to drive every morning and evening.
Loveland has an amazing beginner package - three days of lessons, three days of rentals, and a season pass for $340. That's the price of just two lift tickets at some resorts!
'Locals mountain' says it all! Loveland is before the Eisenhower Tunnel so less time on I-70. LOW ticket prices, lift lines are nonexistent, and the slopes & trails are great. Ride the Ridge Cat for free to the Continental Divide, 13,000'. Amazing!
My favorite place to ski! Love the new high-speed lift.
The best & easiest place to take ski lessons when driving from Denver
Great mountain and great prices. Got more skiing done in the two days on spring break than I would have going 4 days to Breckenridge or Vail. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed.
I ve never met a happier bunch of people- EVERYONE! The girl who made our reservations, was so helpful, the one who took our photos was a riot, the ski school team was perfection and every single lift operator had a big ole smile on his face! I cannot sing their praises enough! This Florida crew is in the Loveland fan club!
Great local ski area. Very laid back atmosphere, easy going people.
My second favorite ski area. I really recommend it. the place has great powder and is amazing.
terrible place since Ned died.Nick works there.so his review is ...we ll a job kinda .don't waste ur tmes.clumsy the pass to a.basin..
My favorite mountain in Colorado. Always first open for the year and last closed. If you want the best bang for your buck ski Loveland!!!
Ski here during the week and there is no line for the lifts. $120 something for the day with upgraded rental package. Definitely a family friendly place.
I love going to Loveland ski Area its sooo fun and the black diamonds are awesome!
Beautiful country and also a awesome memorial for my brother in law and his wife, and son who tragically passed away on the mountain 4 years ago in a plane crash. R.I.P. Jimmy, Amy, Lucas. 06/30/2014
Spent two days at Loveland. The staff are awesome, I will definitely be coming back!
Great mountain, terrain, and drinks!!! Can't believe I didn't give this mountain a chance years ago.
The slopes were great! They were mostly wide, and perfect for practice. The only problem was the staff, they were either frustrated or rushed.
Snow making is so slow. Don t waste money, just get an epic or icon pass.
Great place. Don't consider reviews by people who don't ski. You've been going there for years, they've always accommodated you. This one time makes you forget all the other positive experiences. Sounds pretty elitist to me. Sorry your feelings git hurt. Truth is they were probably sick of you taking a table all day.
Was my first time skiing and took a private lesson with Stacy, he was a fantastic coach. He was very informative and allowed me to catch on very fast. He also gave my friends a few pointers when we crossed paths with them. Overall great time, highly recommend Stacy as an instructor and Loveland as a great place to ski.
My favorite place to snowboard. Priced well and rarely has lines for the lifts.
Lift is kind of slow but overall the slopes are fun to ride
Incredible terrain, conditions and views. I really "loved" this place.
First time here and easily one of the best places I've ever skied. Everyone should check this place out.
My 7 years old daughter and I had so much fun it was worth the flight and private ski lesson instructor Aile mad our day she was very kind with my daughter I really recomend her
For sure we will come again

Got to love Loveland ... Small(ish) but perfectly formed. Good range of beginners through to expert runs. Plentiful parking and reasonable food and drink too.
Started out as a bad experience but the manager Lance did what he could to make it better. The people on the main lift are very helpful but the experience wasn t the same on the bunny lift.
Great family style resort! Our "go-to" on a Sunday! Down to earth and reasonably priced.
The staff here is so incredibly kind and caring they ladies in both rental area and gift shop took incredible care of us this morning. Above and beyond customer service and observation skills. I highly recommend this resort
Best ski area EVER!!!!!!! I love this place with all my heart and hope to get married here one day (a looonnngggg time from now) So family friendly, great people, and the skill levels are actually set appropriately unlike some other places with super flat greens and super steep blues. I never go anywhere else!!! Let the good times roll!!!
Being an experienced snowboarder, this place was fun. First time here. Really great value! Lift 8 is open terrain. Really fun
I can't say enough great things about this place! I left my phone on the mountain and one of the ski lift employees returned it to the lost and found that evening! Not to mention the ski rentals and ski passes are reasonable and the mountain is very well kept! Great place!
Everytime I go here I love it. Only problem is they don't have 1 high speed lift. But it's tolerable. You can find steeps, trees, rollers, etc--anything you'd like is there just a slow lift or short hike away!
The Best mtn around, great size, good slopes, and plenty of trick park oprotunitys
Great experience, fair prices, real cold, not many beginner hills.
Really great for getting the kids in lessons while we enjoy the mountains. Nice day trip.
Well, other than their porcupine TAKING THE DAY OFF, it's a BEAUTIFUL place to go skiing and snowboarding.
I went to ski schools there. The coach is nice and we had a great time. The check in desk people are very helpful. But the reservation person was not good, and made some mistakes about our reservation information. Luckily, the check in desk people helped us.
This is a smaller ski area but a good mix of available terrain. This year could use more snow but most runs were open. We ski blue and had a good time.
First time skiing. Great place to do it. Food options are limited but good. Place looks nice and well kept.
We love Loveland! 12 year old took 3 ski/snowboard lessons this year and every instructor was A+ 5 star!
Overall I had a great experience at Loveland. It was clean, slopes were nice, and the scenery was beautiful. The downsides were how crowded it was and the lift operators. There were constantly individuals or families crowding around the lift drop off causing collisions. The lift operators were very ignorant and were yelling commands at people the whole time. Kind of ruined the lift experience for me, but once you got off it was nice. I may come back or I may try another mountain next time I come to Colorado.
Parking lot was full, but no waiting on the lifts!! Great skiing!
Great place for a quick ski trip when in Denver. Much less crowded then the larger resorts
Loveland is my favorite "local" ski area. Its "No-Frills", you won't find restaurants on the mountain, but you will find great terrain. Loveland is a smaller ski area by Colorado standards but it has a little of everything in terms of terrain.
The negatives are that it can be colder (by Colorado standards), and it is often more windy than other places. This can create what we call the "Loveland Crust". You will understand fully when you find it. As I mentioned above it's a little small.
The Positives: It's close to Denver, and the parking is free. The food is mediocre - and priced reasonably. (They don't have $20 hamburgers here)! If you enjoy IPA's a definitely positive is Pinebough IPA from Tommyknocker brewery. Only available here at Loveland - and at the brewery. It's brewed with some of the pine in the boughs from Loveland so imagine an IPA with a hint of the pine smell you get while riding the lift!! As a snowboarder this ski area is VERY "Board-Friendly". By that I mean minimal catwalks and flats where you need to walk. The natural terrain here is really excellent. Everyone talks about The Ridge (Chair 9) and it's fantastic after a good snow when the visibility is good but catching that window when you have both good snow and good visibility can be tricky. Chair 8 has a wonderful variety of moderate and difficult runs with trees and a few groomers. Chair 6 and Ptarmigan offer good beginner and moderate runs and when there's Good to excellent snow Chair 1's expert terrain is a blast but you might be worn out by lunch! Another feature I really like about Loveland is that the beginner area is totally separate (and connected via free shuttle), from the intermediate and advanced terrain. Generally the crowds aren't that bad here either. Once you are up on the mountain away from the base area it's rare to have more that 10 people in front of you in line. Often you ski or board right to the chair. At the base areas there are waits of up to 15 minutes in the busiest times (NOTE: This is NOT counting opening day, early season, or late season when lines get MUCH longer). The staff is friendly, even more so than I've experienced at other areas. Also, ski patrol from other mountains often come and train at Loveland so their presence is much more noticeable on the mountain. If you are taking lessons or determined to learn, check out their "Three-Class-Pass" Basically it's a pass - that comes with three lessons to get you started - or three lessons with a free pass (however you want to look at it). It's a good deal and this is how I started snowboarding 13 years ago. I have several friends that have had kids in lessons and I hear good things about ski school. Its definitely one of the more affordable areas to ski as a family.
If you are looking to explore a resort for several days - Loveland will disappoint. If you are looking for some good terrain and no frills, it'll deliver. (And if there's fresh snow you might just be hooked for life like me).
Awesome ski area with great terrain and views. There bar atmosphere is great and all of the bartenders are so nice.
It's close less crowded and prices are great if you get the four packs.
In early May of 2018, OSHA found Loveland Ski Area guilty of multiple serious violations that resulted in the death of their employee. They were fined well over $65,000- which is no where near enough in my opinion- but still a large sum for OSHA.
They were found to have failed to properly train their employees in order to protect their lives and inform them of the safety hazards they were exposed to. Again, they were found guilty of MULTIPLE serious violations relating to safety.
If you value your life or your family's, please do not go here.
It is cheap for a reason- because they cut corners on safety and health. As long as Rob Goodell is in charge of area operations, your life is in danger whether your are an employee or a customer.
As a former employee who worked with him and other managers, I have personally heard Rob say things along the lines of (when discussing completion of maintenance tasks) "just get it done the quickest and cheapest way." And this was over many years, not just last year. They only got caught this time because they finally screwed up long enough to have a terribly tragedy occur.
I cannot stress it enough. Please do not go here. Don't be another statistic on an OSHA report. Those fines will not stop them from continuing their disgusting practice of valuing money over life.
Beautiful mountain with an array of terrain and a free Cat at the top for half the cost of other mountain??? Whats not to like.
Love it, Awesome views, good runs for beginners or advanced boarders. A little slow getting up the lifts but worth it.
Great Value. Family friendly and useful if you have different levels of skiers.
Right off the interstate.
Good military discount. Great slopes with an array of levels for all types of skiers.
Probably the best value resort in Colorado by far. Good beginner area and plenty of expert terrain. Tickets are less than half of some of the surrounding areas and the resort isn't crowded, even on the weekends. Lunch prices are pretty standard, but the selection is great!
Like powder go somewhere else!!! Chair 9 and the Ridge Cat are NEVER EVER OPEN when it snows!!!!! This terrain is the only reason many of us choose Loveland. I had a pass here for 2 years and I am sick of going up for powder days only to find the mountain is only half open. Listen up Loveland we have other resort options with more resources to actually do Avalanche mitigation that have better terrain that is ACTUALLY OPEN!! What is the point of having a Ridge Cat is it NEVER OPERATES??? Came home today after a horrible 18" powder day and bought a Rocky Mountain Supper Pass Plus for $100 more and I get many more mountains that are actually OPEN ON POWDER DAYS!!!
