I don't know what all these one-star raters are talking about. BYU-I is an exceptional school that is really being blessed with success. If you think the rules here are restricting, then that is just funny. The rules are exactly the same as the commandments for the rest of the LDS church. If you've been going to church and following the commandments, then you should love BYU-I. If you say the rules are restricting, maybe you need to see your bishop.

Make sure if you are coming to this awesome campus to go to a receptionist desk and ask for a tour. They have students majoring and so they are happy to put their skills to the test. I was amazed how polite and happy the majority of students were.
A blessing and a joy to have graduated from this school. The professors and environment are the best in the country. I can t thank the school enough for the experience I had while a student in Rexburg.
I am an online student and do not live in the Rexburg area. I have been to the campus once, and was assisted efficiently and cheerfully in numerous instances by campus staff.
BYUI is remarkable in how much they can accomplish with little money. It is the only truly affordable place I can continue my education at this time. The discipline, coupled with the low cost, is particularly helpful for talented students in difficult situations, as students are assisted in rounding out their skills and overcoming roadblocks to their success.
I am impressed at the dedication of teachers who function in a non-hierarchial faculty situation. In most cases, my teachers are professionals in the fields they teach, and teach part-time. They participate also from various areas of the United States, including Virginia and Arizona, in my case, at this time. The dedication of on-campus and online teachers who forfeit the usual perks of a hierarchial faculty situation to teach the things that are important to them is most impressive to me. I believe there is an element of real-life passion and freshness in the material and presentation that results.
This school is very focused on building a strong individual or employee - one who can work in an ethically-challenging environment and as a team with other people. This is highly valuable to an employer, and as this school grows beyond the cultural bounds of Rexburg, it will grow also in its influence and value to our nation and world community.
Last, but not least, the merging of spiritual and more secular aspects of education is a very positive experience.
I've been going to school here for a few years now and I love it so much! The classes are smaller and more personal. The teachers know me by name and I've made the most amazing friends here. The people are so nice and the environment is so welcoming. Such a great place!
I did my full undergrad here. BYU-I is not for everyone. Having said that BYU-I is a great school. Looking back I didn't enjoy it in Rexburg as much as I do now. It was an awesome experience that I don't want to do again.
Great campus. Professors actually care. Affordable tuition. You have to live by an honor code, which isn't everyone's cup of herbal tea- but if that's how you feel, go to a state school.
I know of few other Universities where the professors on campus are as dedicated to helping the individual student as at BYU-Idaho. They are wholly dedicated to your success. You will get out of BYU-Idaho what you put into it. If you're dedicated to doing your best and excelling, the professors are there to assist every step of the way. There is also at BYU-Idaho a focus on developing leaders and giving students as many opportunities as possible. The Student Activities and sports department on campus try to give every student an opportunity to be involved, no matter if you're a 5 star athlete or not. I have loved it at BYU-Idaho and would recommend it for consideration.
BYU-I is an amazing school. The professors are great and the campus is beautiful. My favorite part of BYU-I is the ever abundant Spirit that is present on campus. I m so grateful for the education that I received and would recommend BYU-I to anyone interested in a high quality education.
This place is horrible for on-line. I will never recommend this school to anyone. The Church should be ashamed to have the school running. I have been dealing with the account team for weeks now trying to get my tuition situated. I have to speak with call center people who can't do anything but take you info. Then you never receive any call back or email till you have spent hours of your own time on the phone on hold to talk with someone. They are rude and stuck up. I will never promote this school, the only real certificate that comes out of BYU-I is a marriage certificate. And most of those don't last.
Great classes, but it is rather homogenous and has some arbitrary rules. It works if you are the right fit.
The professors here are unlike any others. They truly care for your education and will help you in whatever way possible. They want you to succeed here. Super relax environment and very new facilities.
It's an excellent school with a lot of integrity and the professors perform beyond expectations!
This is a great and wonderful school that instills business practices in it's students. From the dress to the conduct. The only downsides are that they keep ripping campus up to remodel something, there is 0 parking, traveling from Idaho Falls and having to park 1/2 mile away from class does not a happy person make. I can see how some people feel controlled by the university and it's encouragement to go to family home evening, devotional, forums, and church, but these are simply options for people who have the need or want to participate in such activities. Those who don't want to, simply don't. The great thing about Universities is that there are tons of them so if there is something here you just can't stand, there's 100's of other universities to choose from. If you are looking for a great, hands on, professional, and focused learning experience, BYU-I is a great place to get just that.
I've been here for 7 semesters, and to this day I still am frustrated about how dysfunctional the office is. They hire students to deal with financial aid, registration, and other things that should be handled by professionals, not by some kid who just needs a job. Dealing with the office is by far the worst thing here at BYU-I. They won't fix it though because they don't care.
If I would have known what I'd be getting myself into by going to this school, I would have gone to a different university. The school is run by students, so that should give you a pretty good idea of how "organized" and "knowledgeable" the staff is. After recently coming back to church not even within a year with my husband, I was constantly feeling judged and inadequate at BYUI.
The teachers hardly ever have more than 1 hour for an office hour, otherwise you have to make a special appointment, not to mention that not very many teachers will actually email you back in a timely manner which is confusing since teachers are not required to do research at this university they are to focus on the students.
There is way to much busy work, especially for students who have families, work full-time, and go to school full-time. The dress code is a joke and so is the lack of parking throughout the campus. There are some really good teachers who do care but the teaching methods and tests are very standardized across the board and if you don't fit into that category you won't do well.
The students don't really care for each other, they want to be the best and will step on other's to get to the top. I didn't like the atmosphere of the school and was really disappointed, to be honest, with the LDS culture as this is my first experience being around mostly an LDS community. If this doesn't sound appealing to you, go somewhere else. It's not worth the low tuition to put up with all BYUI has to offer.
I'm just rating University Village housing and not my experience at BYUI itself. Don't do it! It comes off great everyone says it's wonderful but it's not. Everyone is always in your business, if you miss a few Sunday's because of family your thought of as less active, and when you leave the housing totally screws you over. You will not get your deposit back, you think oh but I will clean better and keep it nice better than you did but they will find things wrong because they have to pay for the cleaners to come in and clean even if you left it spotless. $8.00 is what we got back and our place was left better than when we moved in. The new manager is a absolute idiot and jerk as well as who he chooses to hire and work there. They never! answer when you call the office. It's said because it's all campus housing and is supposed to represent the church but they screw your over and still find a way to sleep at night. Seriously wished we never lived there despite the great prices, no AC in the summer and they say you can install a window one but it has to be a certain way and makes it so it doesn't do anything in the end.
This is a cult. I used to be a member. Investigate before joining! This church is provably false.
I went to this school for 3 years and I regret my entire experience there except for a few choice exceptions and relationships.
I love BYUI. It's a uniquely student focused school that provides an education that's both practical and powerful.
BYUI has a beautiful campus and considerate staff. While I did not attend there, my wife and siblings have and I had the opportunity to participate in activities and utilize the facilities as a spouse of an enrolled student. Very accommodating and welcoming.
The price of this university is amazing, and the quality of the teachers in general has been fantastic - I loved my learning experience here! However, the administration of the university, particularly the Registrars Office and the Financial Aid Office, is beyond frustrating. The Financial Aid Office is manned by students who give very generic answers to very specific questions, and often my concerns aren't resolved until I've gone to see them multiple times. The new software they have to distribute student funds is absolutely horrific. I'm still waiting to receive an outside scholarship (funds are first given to the school and then to the students) and I'm told that their system is still having issues and my money won't be disbursed for another few weeks even though the semester is half way over. The school has consistently given me the run around when I've had questions about my financial aid. I have had to harass the office and make threats before they released any of my scholarship money, they never even made any effort to remedy the situation until I said I wanted to escalate it and insinuated fraudulent behavior. Additionally, the Registrars Office is run by a very unkind woman who fails to take responsibility for the office's mistakes, I had a very unpleasant interaction with them and they made my life very difficult when they told the federal government I was no longer a full-time student and wouldn't change my status even though they're supposed to update that status regularly. All in all, I love the actual school and the professors, but the people who run the school are very difficult to deal with and its run very unprofessionally.
The professors are amazing. However the offices on campus are absolutely terrible. They've lost my scholarship before and charged me a $100 late fee! My scholarship went directly from my scholarship provider to byui financial aide office; I didn't even touch it! Yet somehow they lost it, told me 4 times that it was their fault and that I wouldn't get charged a late fee on my tuition and then they charged me a late fee! The children who work in the offices never know what they're talking about. I can't tell you how many times I've been sent back-and-forth between offices because the office has no idea what they're doing. My word of advice, when you go into an office don't speak with the students just ask to see a supervisor or someone in charge. That's the only way you'll get things done.
I loved my time here! My professors cared about me and my education. There were a lot of things to be involved in. I recommend volunteering with Student Support. You get out what you put in!
I had a great experience the year I attended this university. I highly recommended it!
Only a few classes are worth the time and money, some a majority of teachers overload on homework and have unrealistic expectations for how much time can be spent on work. On campus jobs are impossible to get and have almost no hours available if you are hired. they aren t helpful at all when it comes to helping financially, or sorting out academic issues and classes. They overcharge for parking and have no available places to park if you are an online student visiting for an hour or two and overcharge for parking tickets. Most departments hire students which leads to a lot of miscommunication, misinformation and a severe lack of answers and help. I would not recommend this to anyone international/foreign. I have rarely had enjoyable moments in this school.
A real place of learning with good people and atmosphere.
This is a solid university. I received my bachelor's in CIT, and am now in the work force.
This is the best school of higher learning in undergrad education I've ever been to, and I've been to 2 others and visited several others.
Honestly love this place! Best college I ve ever been to! Great learning environment, great staff, great campus. This truly is the BEST college around!
Best college if you want a clean environment and people that will bend over backwards to help you.
This is a horrible school if I could give it zero stars I would. I had a horrible experince well attending. I had horrible roomates that made my life a living hell and kicked me out of my apartment and threatened to beat me. I tried to contact the school and housing to move me to a different room or different apartment. But everyone just ignored it. I moved myself out of my apartment and ended up living in my car. We tried over and over to try and solve the problem and move me to a different room.but every where I turned to for help I was shut down. The best advice I could give any one do not ever attend this school. Your just a number at this school that no one cares about. If you looking for a cheap education go to snow college I transferd after my horrible experience and so far I ve had a great experience and I have been able feel The spirit stronger then I ever felt it at BYU Idaho.
Very spiritual environment. My life was overall changed for the better by attending this institution. Great quality education. Two of my Book of Mormon teachers came straight from Yale. Also, much of the other staff have beyond impressive More
I enjoy my time here. My professors are extremely helpful and interesting, the energy on campus is productive and welcoming, and there are tons of resources made available to get anything you want to done. It's not for everyone, of course. Just because it is a great university does not mean it's exactly great for you. For myself, between the price, great teachers, good students, activities provided, jobs provided, et cetera, I would give a 5 star rating. I used to attend a school in WA and it was great too, maybe a 4ish star.
Great university. Can't beat the price or the teachers. The accounting department is especially good. The only downside is winters there are brutal.
I was a student at BYUI in the early 2000's, right around the time they switched from Rick's, and had an amazing experience there. The education quality and professors were fantastic! After earning my Associates Degree, I transferred to BYU Provo where I completed my Bachelors and Masters degrees.
I have since returned to BYUI as an Online Adjunct Instructor and have absolutely loved being re-associated with the University. Pres. Clark has an amazing vision of the direction that BYUI needs to head to become the world class university it has the potential of being. In my time, I have had the opportunity to teach students around the globe and have been able to help them earn a quality, accredited degree while working full-time and/or raising a family. I highly recommend BYUI for both on-campus students and online students, it truly is a remarkable university.
This school is for a very specific type of student. It's tailored to those who are devoutly LDS who want their religion to permeate every aspect of their lives. Classes begin with prayers, a modesty code is strictly enforced on campus, and active religious participation is mandatory to remain in good standing.
If this is your kind of school, then it's a good education. Otherwise, steer clear.
There is not a better school, for less money anywhere in country. Maybe even for more money. I love that our professors have lived successful professional lives, and now are willing to share their knowledge and experience. From fortune 500 executives to world renown artists, they truly are world class men and women. President Clark was the Dean of the Harvard Business school for 10 years. We are privileged to be taught by, and acquainted with such accomplished individuals. Our professors know our names, and encourage us to come to their offices for help with our homework.
Not only are they personally willing to help with questions, but many take it upon themselves to us establish network connection for future careers. And this is not a research University, the professors are here because they love to teach. They teach with lower salaries than competing Universities to help keep tuition low for students. I love that so much of what the University offers is free. I have never felt nickle'd and dime'd from here.
The campus is absolutely beautiful. There are acres of grass, trees, and parks. The facilities are new and clean. I absolutely love this school, and am so thankful for the chance I have to go here. The friendliness and quality of BYU-I is unrivaled.
BYU-Idaho is a unique school to attend, apart from any other. If you desire either natural or miraculous blessings of obedience, or teachers and other leaders who will continually sacrifice for you, you will be grateful to be here. If you honor others' sacrifices and are determined to pay it forward, you should go here.
They punish poor students for not letting them get Medicaid and then lie about their reasoning. If you're affiliated with the LDS church you should at least act like you understand LDS doctrine because you're not suppose to lie. You also can't wear shorts here. One star.
Have been a student since Fall 2018. Teachers are helpful and friendly and only want their students to succeed. There are many campus run events that stop students from getting bored. Buildings are taken care of and clean. Grounds are always immaculate. The Crossroads cafeteria is cheap.
It's a great school, everyone is super friendly, especially to international students
I would rate it a 0 if i could. Thier policies are not fair. They just want your money. For a school based on love ,acceptance and brotherhood they are more than willing to stab you in the back. Simply the school is a joke. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
This place frowned upon me wearing sandals and shorts.
This is a Temple of learning. I enjoyed my time there. Now enrolled on the pathway connect program coming to love thoseeing challenges.
Avoid. It's a trap. They change the requirements for your major too often and transferring is a literal pain in the eye- as all the good schools won't take the credits here, let alone none of the credits from Weber State University would transfer over here either, so I had to retake four entire hard courses- which once I took here, wouldn't transfer. Waste of time and money. Tutoring here is horrible as well.
This truly is an amazing campus. People are so loving and kind to everyone around them.
Lovely place with even lovely rules. Such as no wearing sweat pants, because they are too tight.
If that doesn't make sense. i don't know what does.
You know, I did six semesters at BYU-Idaho. I majored in Communication with an emphasis in News and Journalism. My thoughts and feelings about this university are pretty simple and straightforward. They are as follows:
1) Decent education for an inexpensive price.
2) The opportunity to grow spiritually (if you don't care about that kinda thing than don't attend).
3) The social aspects are horrible--far too many self righteous persons.
That pretty much sums it up in my opinion.
A wonderful school that provides a great education. Many who come here are bitter about the rules and gripe about and/or break them. They didn't have to come. You will find here what you come looking for. If you are looking for a school that doesn't care about what you do or who you become, this is may not be the school for you. If you want a good, positive spiritual environment, you will find one, and at a fraction of the cost of other universities.
I hate to be that 1 star guy but the finance center had Charge for 500$ added to my account because of a mix up with one of the teachers. They refused to remove the charge and were rather unprofessional about it.
Beautiful campus, caring teachers with valuable experience, and plenty of extra curricular activities to choose from.
Mormon culture is disgusting. Kids here don't know how to exist in a normal society. Plus completely embarrassing education level. You go there to get a dumb wife from California and then waste away in Utah the rest of your life.
I love my experience here. You get from this school what you put into it.
I love the school, the classes and professors, my only complaint is the advising center. They told me I would be done after X classes and once I finished those they told me I had to do more because they found more I had to do. I didn't feel like walking in was welcome there either.
Just graduated from here, I've spent the last 5 years in Rexburg. The reason for my 5 stars? My reasoning is simple: the faculty really do care. I've spent a lot of time in the offices of my professors getting guidance on assignments, etc. Never once was a professor unwilling or absent to meet with me. Also, there are so many opportunities there to become a better person than you were yesterday, ecclesiastically, academically, and otherwise.
Yes, people will always complain about their lack of freedom with the rules, and there will even be some ungrateful little snots complaining about acceptance rate or how there is no "proper normal distribution curve" grading, I say get over yourselves and realize that this university operates on the greater good, which is really important for education. I am really grateful to have earned my education here. I could go on and on, but I think what I've said suffices.
The foundations program here is a joke. More than half of the credits earned here will not transfer as anything but electives at other schools, and many will not transfer at all. With the exception of my sociology classes, I feel that I wasted two years of my life here. The academic quality is very low, as the school caters to the students at the lowest level of intelligence. Do not waste your time or money here.
BYU-Idaho is a great school but one of the biggest downside to it is that it is ran by students. My my frustration mainly comes from those in the financial aid department. They do not help at all. They are just a waste of your time. The accounting office it is another department that has been very frustrating to work with. They are willing to let me talk to an account advisor over the phone but not in person which I do not understand.
There is a lot of potential here if it wasn t just ran by students who don t know what they re doing and are switched out every semester causing a lot of confusion when students seek help.
Besides that, the Professors are great!
I hate those college kids and the college nothing good to say .
Great campus with super friendly students and faculty
The computer science department is smart about what and how it teaches. The learning model, which includes working with, helping, and relying on other students helps to fill in the experience that you can't normally get inside a classroom. Online courses are engaging, unlike what I experienced at my state college back home. If you are in applied math, I highly recommend MATH 335 (Data Wrangling and Visualization) as one of the best courses available. Those in computer science will likely enjoy the Machine Learning class, CS 450. Any of the design thinking DCM courses are worth considering for many students. I've found that most professors "get it" and are trying to maximize what's valuable after graduation. For many classes (after generals and highly traditional ones), this means plenty of case studies or projects. In my data science society, we do real projects for real companies. Some of us do multiple internships. To succeed you need to be willing to demand more of yourself and to rely on the Lord, who is the ultimate teacher.
I don't know why in the last week there have been so many bad reviews.. Yes, it's true: Rexburg is not the best place for the weather and if you like cities you'll miss them here. But the school is awesome. Yes, there are imperfections like in every other university you can go but the cool thing here is that you can talk with imperfect people (like me) that are striving to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that are trying to get better day after day. I saw few things that were not right as well but I think that overall, this university is great and getting better.
Revisited the campus today for nostalgia. I love this school!
High standards, good morals, Lots of fun! Many different options for classes and absolutely wonderful teachers that actually care about you and your success!
Great price great school. COVID IS TERRIBLE FOR SCHOOL. BYUI is awesome
BYU-Idaho is the best thing to ever happen to me. It is a great university with a great environment. Every class is opened with a prayer which I didn't really like at first but I have grown to love it. Most teachers are very understanding of all kinds of circumstances and the classes are small enough that the teachers actually try to get to you know. It is just a very caring environment compared to other universities. Like others have said, the academic advising center and the financial aid center are run by a bunch of students who have no idea what they're doing which is quite frustrating but you will get help eventually just probably not as quickly as you'd want. The health center is also really hard to get ahold of and not very helpful but all schools have their down falls. Overall, BYUI is a great university. It has the lowest tuition you will ever find but also a quality education. They do have an intense honor code in some aspects but if you can't follow it and want to complain about it, go somewhere else. The honor code is put in place to keep students safe.
Good for the price, honor code system should be reevaluated
The good thing about BYUI is that's its cheap to go there, the bad is that the education you receive is the price you pay for it. If you want a good place with good morals, go to BYUI. If you want programs that will prepare you to get jobs and succeed, go elsewhere. I was in the nursing program at BYUI, but transferred after feeling that they weren't going to help or prepare me for the NCLEX. The professors showed lack of concern or care for my education and success. Majority of my professors couldn't even be found in their offices or on campus past 3:30-4pm when I'd go in for help. They didn't offer additional tutoring resources in the program and faculty showed lack of enthusiasm in taking responsibility for any issues or concerns. I'd email with a question or for help and they'd always refer me to someone else who would refer me to another professor and so forth without ever answering my questions. I've had four other siblings attend BYUI since 2002 and the quality of programs has decreased drastically. Overall, an ideal place to study because of its peaceful atmosphere, but lacking in concern for their students and will not prepare you for the future.
Updated Review 2019: I also find it ridiculous that I had to pay $280 for health insurance through BYU-Idaho for my internship even though I already had health insurance/coverage through the NGO I worked with that covered me for free! So, I basically had to pay for something I didn't need and already had. No one was willing to work with me to change the fee and I never got a final email from the lady I was in communication with on the matter.
First of all. The credits are absolutely worthless. About two years into my mechanical engineering degree and the curriculum was changed around and all the M.E. classes I took are now elective. This is because I had to change catalog year because they no longer offered some of the classes I needed for my original catalog year. Foundation courses are not even accredited and will not transfer to even the other BYU schools. When I transferred out of BYU-ID to the College of Southern Idaho my transcript had 57 elective credits at CSI. Many employers are reluctant to hire BYU-ID students as the school tends to teach that appearances are most important.
Depending on which bishop you have, FHE is mandatory among single students and they're assigned to a number of other single students to make a "FHE group".
The honor code has absolutely nothing to do with honor. It has to do with how much control the school can have over the students. It's against the honor code to access MySpace, wear shorts, be out after midnight, and expose your bare feet. People have been kicked out of school for wearing shorts on campus because "if they're not going to obey the little rules, they won't obey the big rules." Again, the honor code exists to give school administration control.
The Honor office thrives on false accusation. One famous saying in Rexburg is "Why would someone lie about accusing someone else?"
Parking is absolutely ridiculous. Student parking does not accommodate any vehicle larger than a compact. Parking spaces are scarce as they tend to sell more permits than they have parking spaces. When the school decides to plow the parking lots, it is very disorganized, and they fail to notify the students to move their cars.
Like I said before, the honor code and many of the other rules exist so administration can have more control. All internet use is heavily monitored and restricted.
The school hires students for EVERYTHING! No one is trained in their job very well, and dishonesty among staff is horrendous. One experience I had in particular happened when a student hired to monitor internet activity stole my banking information and drained my bank account. He then reported to the honor office that I had been "attacking" the school servers in "hacking" attempts.
Besides me, there have been about three other people of the same name. It was not uncommon that I would get faulty parking tickets, charged for rent where I was not living, and having my mail lost.
The luxury of not sharing a bedroom with someone is considered to be very bad at this school. This is because of the many prostitution rings that have sprung up in Rexburg. The school tries very hard to keep this information hushed up.
So even though this school was mostly bad, there was a little good. I'm thankful for the good friends I made. And I'm glad that I was made aware to many of the mistakes that the church makes.
I regret choosing to further my education at this "university" and I warn others that plan to do the same. If you want to become married quickly this is probably the place to do it as strangers tend to agree to marriage quickly here.
Beautiful campus! It's a great place to go look around.
Honestly my experience at this school is better than I could've imagined. Having a school that is student oriented makes all the difference for science majors. Professors are focused on students rather than research.
Parking is tough right now, but it is the summer break.
I went through the accounting program here. Loved the professors.. Packard, Patterson, Campbell.. The entire accounting department is phenomenal. My expectations were really low coming in but I ended up loving this place. The I center is the best place in eastern idaho to play pickup basketball hands down.
BYU-Idaho should be considered the LDS diploma mill.
First, their acceptance rate is 99%. Basically, if you are a "temple-worthy" Mormon and you want to attend, you can attend.
Second, the school is very forgiving of academic misconduct. There are countless stories of students at BYU-Idaho who cheat or plagiarize and still are able to pass; however, if they have premarital sex, they will be suspended (or worse). The University is more concerned about student's "testimonies" and their eternal souls then academic rigor and integrity. Yes, there is a "honor policy," but it is rarely enforced.
Third, it is a "church-run" school. All classes start with prayer (and most end with prayer). Many teachers add hymns to the class. The Rexburg Idaho Temple is located at one end of the class. There is a weekly devotional that is mandatory for all faculty and staff. Also, attending the school is dependent on a yearly Bishop's recommendation. Finally, the curriculum must correspond with approved doctrinal teachings.
I taught at the university during the transition from Ricks to BYU-Idaho. Ricks College was, more appropriately, an associate program school and BYU-Idaho focuses solely on bachelor's degrees. While the school was based on good principles, it is now more sanctimonious than anything. It is a place for the upper echelon of LDS society to reign. If you don't believe that, look at the 6 president's of the University and the dean's of the school. The previous 5 presidents were either in the LDS First Presidency, the quorum of the twelve apostles or one of the presidencies of the seventy. Many of my colleagues have left to teach at other schools. This is not a condemnation of those people, only to explain that the school is now used more to promote the church than academic rigor and integrity.
There are many good and intelligent people at the school (faculty and students); however, if you are looking to increase your learning, apply to BYU main campus. Yes, it still has many of the same issues, but at least you will be receiving the necessary academic skills necessary to succeed.
Also, people can be angry about this comment, but what I said is completely true.
I am a atheistic Muslim who applied for attendance but was denied somehow. 99.6% of people make it into this college, but somehow I didn't. You will be hearing from my lawyers and we will file a class action lawsuit against you. I was able to try some of their burgers while I was visiting, and I do admit, those were some banging burgers.
So first off I can't express how much this school has given me such a massive spiritual growth. I had amazing religious teachers who know so much about the Bible, Book of Mormon, and the other standard works. When I ask them a question, they not only know one verse in scripture that can help, but they cross reference it with conference talks, gospel principles, and many other verses. They know their stuff.
And even if you are taking non religious classes, I can still feel the power these teachers have. Many of them have become my friends and mentors and have helped me hugely.
At a distance, the honor code looks kinda weird, but honestly it is so helpful in many ways. Some people don't understand that rules don't restrict, they guide. They help you feel the Spirit and also help you gain understanding of why they are set.
To really have a good time here, you have to be willing to be obedient and study hard. But I have enjoyed countless blessings and opportunities because of my time spent here. I love it and miss it every day.
This University is amazing. Having attended BYU-Idaho and a state university, I realize how great of an education and experience BYU-I was. It s great to be able to study in a spiritual environment. The university puts a lot of work into keeping the grounds beautiful and keeping up the buildings. They have an interest in the students. The professors are great and seem genuinely excited about their jobs and what they are teaching. A top notch education at a very low cost. Plus, the social aspect of this school in this small town is second to none.
