This is a wonder Resort. So clean and friendly. Feels more like home. Great staff. House keeping managed to keep our 4 rooms spotless. And with this family it was no small feat.
Beautiful green. Ocean and bay views. I suggest the bay center on 3rd floor +. Beautiful sunrises. Lost of good fishing in the bay. They have several boards and kayaks for rental.
Beach was nice. Have great chars and cabanas. Very nice sandbar that extends farther than any other I have seen straight out into the ocean. Tiki bar and staff check on you and provide ice drinks food ect.
I love the local food and shopping at st.Armands circle not a mile for the grounds.

Yes the location with beach/water view is amazing. Rooms are spacious. However for almost $600/night they had one not six restaurants open with no choices for kid food. Spend $60 on a not so good lobster roll for a child. There is no place on site for water, juice soda etc. Come in late & just need a quick bite, nothing. There is no mention of the construction STILL in progress. Needless to say my alarm was 8:30 am men at work! Connection to Netflix etc is through Chromecast & you need itmservice your phone, not user friendly. Room service is done through your phone also. Cannot just pick up phone and order

Have not arrived and regret my decision to book here already. I booked an advanced purchase two bed beach view room direct from their website. Unfortunately when I initially booked their stock of rooms was low and the room I wanted was not available. Later I checked the website and the king beach room was available. Lovely. Called today to upgrade my room to a junior king suite. I was told my reservation was noncancelable, non-transferable, and not changeable after a previous reservation agent told me I could at least upgrade. What resort does not allow a room change when they are going to charge you more to give you what you want? Reservations put in a request for my room change yet could not promise anything since there are very strict rules about reservations. This is my my first vacation with my boyfriend. I just wanted us to have a nice room on the beach, with great service, delicious food, and a spa.

*This review is only for Sands Pointe their indoor fine dining establishment, their outdoor dining is terrific.
The food indoors was way too salty on everyone's meal. They over season to the point of ruining a good steak or fish. When you meake a comment, their response is that others like the flavor. If you are catering to the over 70crowd with limited taste buds, I get it... but for everyone else, you need a lesson on cooking with flavor not over salting everything.

Wonderful trip - fortunately had a room facing the ocean so fell asleep to that sound. Also applaud efforts on keeping that side of the resort dark - it is sea turtle mating season and room lights may confuse the turtles.
We came to The Resort at Longboat Key as a mother/...
We came to The Resort at Longboat Key as a mother/daughter trip. My mom had a stroke and can no longer travel alone. I wanted to make this an extra special trip as I knew it would probably be her last. We chose the Resort at Longboat Key because of the phenomenal reviews. First, the positives: excellent location, great beach. *Some* staff, particularly Jane whom everyone mentions in other reviews are friendly. The negatives: they are delusional with the prices they charge. Our room was on par with Holiday Inn, at 5 star resort prices (and I've stayed at plenty 5 star hotels worthy of charging $500+ for a room--this is NOT one of them). The bathroom was so dated, it was dirty, the wallpaper was from the 80's, old tiles, the cheap veneer was peeling off the bathroom vanity. The beds were old and lumpy (I know because I removed the fitted sheet--at least 20 year old mattresses). Next, they charge a 20% service fee on EVERYTHING. Which, I wouldn't mind as I typically tip at least 20% when dining out, unless the service is truly terrible. I had multiple experiences with truly terrible service, which is completely unacceptable if you are charging 20% service fees. And you know what really gets me? The servers don't even get all of the 20%!! I got to talking to the ONLY server who actually provided good service during our entire 4 day stay. I felt compelled to reward her with an extra tip (as is asked on every check you receive) and I asked her about the service fee--to which I learned all of it does not go directly to the server. Our negative dining experiences included our first night at the main restaurant, which really set a bad tone being that we had just arrived. The next morning, I sat outside to read and ordered a coffee, and a yogurt parfait. I ordered it at 9:30. It arrived at 10:20!! The family sitting at the table next to me sat down at the same time I did, but ordered AND finished their food before my parfait even got delivered. And you guessed it, 20% service fee for terrible service!! It was only a few dollars, but it was the principal of it. And the guy only had a few tables, so there is just no excuse. These two experiences were back to back, and left me very uninterested in eating any other food here. The final kicker came on my last morning. The morning was completely overcast, very windy, and 62 degrees. Our room included breakfast, but we "have to" sit outside. I asked the front desk staff if I could possibly sit inside (which was totally empty at 7am) because I was just too cold to sit outside. She was rude, and said it's only a little chilly and I must sit outside. Just terrible and very clear they have no interest in helping their guests to be comfortable and enjoy their stay. With that, I went off to find breakfast in St. Armand's--and ended up at a delightful place, where three people greeted me upon entering, my server brought me hot coffee within 30 seconds of sitting down, and my excellent breakfast arrived within 5 minutes of placing my order. I was in and out in 30 minutes.
In conclusion, this entire hotel is outdated, the lobby area, rooms, pool area, all of it, need a major renovation. The website is also misleading in that their 5 "on site" restaurants aren't on site at all. One is over 3 miles down the road and depending on traffic can take 10-20+ minutes to reach. I chose this hotel partially for convenience, as pushing and loading a wheelchair in and out of the car is a major pain. Don't be fooled by the website photos. You can expect poor service (unless it's Jane!), expensive, bad food, and rooms on par with the Holiday inn. I took a beach yoga class I enjoyed, but that, Jane's friendliness, and the resort location are not enough for me to ever come back or recommended it. I come to FL once or twice a year with my husband and kids, but this resort will be crossed off our list. Very disappointing experience.

2 Unbelievable issues. 1. Went down to beach about 2:00. Another guest was leaving and offered up his umbrella and chairs that he had paid for the whole day. We were so happy that someone did something so nice in this world. However the beach caddy said sorry no go. He took the umbrella away and said we d have to pay. Wow!! What a horrible policy. The umbrellas used to be free with your room fees. Can t even do something nice in this world. The resort also would not give our son a toothbrush. He forgot his. They told us to buy one In the gift shop for $7.00! Even the Days Inn gives u a free toothbrush. Lovely location and staff is very nice but obviously the management isn t customer oriented and is looking to nickel and dime their guests. Be ready if you come here.

Pristine waters, clean sand, lounge chairs, umbrellas and a drinks & food service that is a cut-above the usual. Recommendable The resort is undergoing a major restoration this summer so expect to see improvements.
The Resort at Longboat Key Club is ideally located...
The Resort at Longboat Key Club is ideally located on a beautiful, soft white sand beach. For those who like their pools, they have a great hot tub and a large pool. Next to the pool, they have a small bar with nice Pina Coladas and TVs. There are several restaurants associated with the club.
The negative occurs when they "give" you a $75 credit each day for food. However, to get some pancakes and oatmeal for breakfast costs $50. The prices on their menu are very expensive, so $75/day does not go nearly as far as you would think. Additionally, on their website they prominently display the sailboats you can rent. This was one of my main reasons for selecting this property for our Florida stay. But of course, as soon as we arrive, they say all the boats are broken.
If you just want a beautiful beach and a great pool/hot tub, this place is fantastic. However, there is a fair bit of false advertising with the food credits and the boat rentals. Don't count on their amenities. Just plan on the beach.

My family stays at the Resort at Longboat Key Club...
My family stays at the Resort at Longboat Key Club once a year. This year was by far the worst service we have received. One would think that the quality of service would increase due to the number of buildings under renovation and the fact the nearest pool is three miles away, but no. The service has drastically decreased since our first year in 2016. First of all, they would not allow check-in 30 minutes prior to check-in time because they were "fully booked" the night before. Not one person can convince me that the housekeepers are cleaning every single room until the minute before check-in. Additionally, last year their computer system went down and people in my party were left without rooms for several hours. The water in our room was turned off for days, and as a result we could not do laundry until someone fixed it several days later. They would not remove the contents out of the fridge unless we paid $25. We pay plenty to stay at that resort, especially with the lack of amenities available during this stay. Removing the contents of the fridge should not cost any additional money. They came in the middle of the evening to replace the stove top. I could not get an additional hour for late checkout. One would think they could replace the stove top during the period between checkout and checkin since they were adamant I could not have late checkout. The alarm clock in the room made a buzzing noise the last day and we were told they would look into it the following day, so rest was limited. I know we are not the only ones with frustration, as I witnessed two couples complain to employees at the beach. Overall, seriously disappointed in The Resort. I hope they make improvements soon, and not just in physical appearance.

I must say this is my first time I have to leave a review which is with very mixed feelings as there are both good and bad moments.
The LACK of customer CARE did make a NEGATIVE impact on our experience at this beach resort.
The most exciting part of this hotel for me personally was their fitness facilities and group classes. I signed up for a class and I was only 2 to 3 minutes late. Given I was getting my 1 year old ready it was already a miracle I made it only 2-3 minutes late (a mother can understand what it takes to leave your room ON TIME, practically impossible). When I arrived the door of the room where the class was just starting was locked. I asked the people from the fitness club if they can open but their answer was sorry, the instructor is very strict . They did try to give her a sign through the window if she could let one more participant in but the instructor didn t seem to acknowledge anything whatsoever. I spoke with the hotel front office team and they told me that I should be ideally present prior to the class and that is their policy. Wonderful, I got to hear their policy! All what a guest wants to know is the hotel policies and procedure. When it comes to creating a memorable experience to your club members and/or hotel guests maybe the hotel employees (fitness instructors, too) should rather be more personal than locking a door. After all that is what it takes to be in the people business. I absolutely agree that if a person is 5-10 minutes late then it is not SAFE for that person to join a class because he/she may have missed the warm up but that was not the case. Also I want to make it clear that I rarely would complain about anything, I show understanding if food is cold, service is slow, order is late, whatever. I am sure there is a good reason this must have happened so I would show understanding but in my situation I don t know how to show any respect towards this instructor and understanding towards the management who takes her side and obviously supports this locking of the room.
What I would have expected to hear is that the instructor will be seriously briefed about her behavior and if tomorrow me or another mother happen to be 2-3 minutes late then the door would be unlocked. What if some members travel from further away just to be returned? Luckily, I was walking distance away so I returned to the hotel. Should there have been such a strict policy on being present 10 minutes prior to the class, then that should have been told to me upon signing up for the class.
I really hope for the future people can join the class if they have JUST missed the beginning... after all it is 60 minutes or so.... it is not like I was 30 minutes late.
On a positive note, I did pedicure in their Spa and the ladies were albsolutely amazing! That s was wonderful one hour!

We stayed here for our anniversary. We got a fabulous view but the A/C in our room never worked, so we had to ask for a fan - not to mention we kept the patio door open to bring in wind. These rooms need to be updated and add a flair they probably once had. The staff was delightful. It's just sad that these rooms weren't up to par.

Where to begin. What an incredibly disappointing experience with this resort. My advise, DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR WEDDING. We were not so lucky and unfortunately were mistreated, scammed and lied to. We booked this venue for our wedding in JULY of 2018. We thought we had found the perfect place. We were told they had construction going on to fix the front and that it would all be done before our wedding in June of 2019. So we decided to book our wedding on South beach, thinking we just found the perfect place. WELL! 3 months BEFORE our wedding, (after having the wedding planner THEY recommended send out all out invites), we received an email stating they will be beginning construction on the buildings to get ready for their 2020 guests . Sick to our stomachs, we did not want to spend one for our most special days surrounded by construction. They continued on with telling us this was a last minute decision . My husband owns his own part in construction and to try and b.s. people who know that this kind of construction takes planning and permits is sickening. Sickening that they would continue to let us get that far in our wedding planning without a word until 3 months before. They also continued on as if it was not a big deal, and that we could still stay in Building 1 that we were promised and had set up a year prior. We figured okay as long as things can still stay the same and we are able to go through with everything we had already set up in planning. THEN!! LESS than a week before our wedding date we received an email stating that Building 1,2 and 3 were all closed down, that the main heart of the hotel, the main restaurant and pool would be closed. LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE THE WEDDING! while ending their emails AGAIN with getting ready for their 2020 guests . Are you kidding me?!? What about your CURRENT GUESTS who are paying you??? What was even more sickening was that it was like pulling teeth to get confiscated for some of stress they decided to keep bringing right before our wedding! To top it off, the management there is scattered, unreliable, and continued to point fingers at one another, as if the process wasn t stressful enough. Their responses for our concerns consisted of the typical customer service robotic replies.
Long story short, I do not recommend wasting your time, your money or your energy working with these people on a day that is supposed to be so special. I would recommended renting out a house on the beautiful beach before ever having to work with these group of people.
Luckily we had hired other vendors outside of Longboat that helped make our day better and they did.

I strategically planned an all expense paid, 1 night stay at this resort for my mother's birthday. I call my mother to check on her and she says they sent up an expensive bottle of alcohol, which my mother does not drink alcohol. They take it back and send her cheap WATER. My mother orders food: quesadilla and wings=$72! My card is attached to the room, yet they charge my mother's card! Then when my mom checks out, the office manager, Tony [female], charges MY MOTHER, once again, a $25 check-out fee! I called and explained how nothing was supposed to be charged on her card yet she did NOTHING to fix the matter nor EVER apologized for the inconvenience! This was my 1st time using this resort, a 5-star resort with 2-star customer service. I am infuriated with Tony and her lack of professionalism in this matter that could have been 100% avoided if she would have regarded the clearly faxed document stating all funds are to be charged to CARD ON FILE! THIS WAS VERY UNFORTUNATE.

We had a very bad experience here. We started off with food poisoning from being served rotten shrimp....and all they did was confirm that it was in fact bad and gave us a coupon for a free drink. After that my mother ordered a drink with no lime because she has a bad allergy to lime, and of course she took a sip and there was lime in it. Her eyes swelled and she was sick the rest of the night. And again, all we got was an apology. We then paid $40 to rent 2 umbrellas for the day and when we went up to give the kids a nap and came back down they had given our chairs and umbrellas to someone else. They said it was their policy to give them away if they were unoccupied for more than an hour, which I would understand if we hadn't PAID for them!!! We stayed in the grand 2 bedroom suite for a week and one of the televisions didn't work and they had to replace the cable box at 11pm and our toilet made a very high pitch sound throughout the night. This was definitely not a 4 star hotel and definitely not what we are used to. It is a 2 star resort at best.

Terrible experience. Never able to reach anyone by phone, when we arrived our room wasn t very clean. There was dust on everything, the washer had poop streaks in it, and the floor and carpet made all of our socks black on the bottom. Was told we would be discounted for our stay but when we got the bill we were charged more than what they told us we would be. Of course no one answered when I tried to call about the issue. Was very excited to go here to attend some dear friends wedding. Arrived to find out the resort was completely under renovation in the public spaces. No pool, no pool area, no club house, no anything. No resort. Just an Unrenovated room with no working WiFi, most outlets not working, a terrible view, and the one elevator in the building almost never working. Everyone in our wedding party had to carry our own luggage up and down flights of stairs repeatedly. The staff and management was rude and unresponsive to all issues. For instance they tried to blame our computer, our iPad, and our phones for their lack of working WiFi. On top of all of these insults they had the nerve to charge a $50 a night resort fee, with no resort amenities available to be used due to the construction and the poor condition of the property. The one meal we ate at the one functioning restaurant took an eternity to get and no one at the table was served their food at the same time. Most arrived cold and the staff had no idea who ordered what, with missing food everywhere. It s sad when an event like a wedding is spoiled by such a terrible venue and when the staff and management could care less about its guests. They billed me incorrectly. Kathryne at the front desk lied about the billing after Ryan at the front desk did help a little. Kathryne added charges and said she couldn t do anything. Lastly, the computer systems went down during checkout also.

Do you like paying $1+/night to vacation with ROAC...
Do you like paying $1+/night to vacation with ROACHES? Only plus to this place is its on a beautiful beach but beware of getting stung by sting rays and jelly fish - stings happen everyday. First room had ants in our kids bed, ants in the bathroom and swarming our bags, and a roach that fell from ceiling onto kitchen counter. Next room they moved us to had a 2-3 inch roach in the shower. Their excuse was right in line with the bad slow service experienced throughout the hotel of well this is Florida and we are at the beach. We are Floridians and vacation frequently at luxury beach front hotels - we have never had ants in the bed or roaches in the kitchen/bath at Eau Palm or Four Seasons. What a terrible excuse! Very disappointing as we wanted this to be our new go-to Longboat Key hotel but we will never return and will advise all our friends/family to never go. Save your money unless you love bad service and sleeping with roaches/ants!
