Relaxing beachfront resort..guaranteed weather...staff brilliant

Sent here by my company. Was the most relaxing three days of my life. Every ounce of sweat and hard work was worth it just to come here.

We were planning to stay at this resort but had to cancel because our plans changed. I canceled before the time I had to, and have the written confirmation from email earlier in the week to indicate that everything was canceled properly (cancellation policy states to call before 3 days out, and we canceled six days out) . Tonight I checked my card and found out that they charged my card with a large deposit anyway, despite the fact that I canceled. I called the hotel only to be told I was talking to the night clerk and would have to deal with it tomorrow. I cannot stress enough to avoid this place. There are many luxury properties in Florida so no need to deal with this kind of incompetence and/or theft.

Update at 8:24 am Friday - still trying to get through to an actual person to get this charge taken off my card. All I can get is reservations, and they either leave me on hold or put me in voicemail. They will not put me through to any kind of person with responsibility.

ETA at 1:09 pm on Friday. There is no excuse for a delay on the refund. A credit card company should be able to reverse that immediately.

I do not start with a Google review. What I do in a situation like this is to call the hotel directly. In this particular case, I could not even get a receptionist to put me through to a person - they put me into various voice mails until I got angry and decided to try to escalate it with reviews here, Trip Advisor, and Facebook. I finally got a call back after I left this review on Google. So that is how your hotel operates. This is a mistake YOU created. I won't be updating here, Trip Advisor, or Facebook until my funds are back in my account.

The pool is closed due to construction. The front desk should have told me when I booked the trip. 1/2 of their beach is closed as well.

We booked months in advance beach front king room . When we checked in oyr room class was "not available " nothing they could do. We accepted a lesser room for a reduced price. When we drove to out room, we see that the hotek is under construction which no one mentioned at the time i booked. We walk to our room and there was a giant puddle in from of our door with a Watch Out sign. When we open the door and looked out at our view,w
e were behind another room's balcony! Ridiculous!
Over priced, They bait and switch with room type. Facility under constr, not worth it. Very disreputable!

Would have given a 5, but my other family member's room did not have A/C for the first day. It was 80 degrees until 10 pm in the room. Otherwise, nice place. Lots of fun.

We enjoyed four days relaxing and recharging. The resort allows you to just do you. A bit on the pricey side for us, we joined family in the two bedroom suite; the rooms were clean and staff went above and beyond. You pay for the exclusiveness and lack of crowd.

My family and I were at this wonderful resort from 07/19 to 07/21. We really liked the accommodations, the beach and the restaurants. We checked out at 2pm on the 21st and when we returned to our Orlando residences we noticed that we forgot some items in rooms 5101 and 5106. We immediately called and transferred us to Lost and Found and were told they would check and return, which we didn't. It happened! we called again during the week and just as we waited without receiving feedback. On Friday (07/26) we spoke again and this time we received a prompt return from Elisabeth who informed us that nothing was found in either room after 5 days !!!!! In room 5101 it was forgotten and not found two Iphone and Iwatch chargers. In 5106 were forgotten remedies !!!! Unfortunately the level of your room services is not up to the standard of your Resort. As a guest I suggest you check the quality and honesty of your staff since I am sure you have forgotten the objects as well as you know who were the staff who were in the rooms after we left. Honestly disappointed.

To many trucks ,i worked there, office staff not very friendly, place is to expensive find another place cheaper

It is something for total relaxation, its views are a spectacle.

Great resort with amazing views and awesome beach access

Stayed at the resort in one of the newly renovated deluxe 2 bedroom suites, it was huge and at 1800 sq feet had room for 6 if you need to.
hotel and staff did not disappoint. Some construction still going on but all restaurants and bars and services at the spa etc are open. first trip since the covid outbreak and everyone staff and guests seemed to be following directions and rules.

First time visitor. Resort has everything you could want. With awesome privacy. Excellent place to stay.

How can a resort be 4 stars plus, if their beach has 3 tall Orange traffic cones On each side of it? Ouch! What an eyesore...

A combination of disempowered unwelcoming staff, absent management, and unwelcoming policies made my visit a miss.

Excellent service overall. Beautiful pool area with attentive poolside service, live music, and immediate beach access. Beautiful room and kitchen. They tended to all my family members' needs and made sure they were comfortable. Courteous security and ample parking.

Second time guests. We absolutely love this place. Beautiful views. Very clean. Beach and pool access is the best of both worlds.

This is a very nice resort on Longboat Key. Food is generally very good at the restaurants and the recent beach replenishment is beautiful! Service is excellent. Altogether, a very nice experience.
Want to add that Sand Point is a wonderful restaurant. That fish dishes are excellent. Lots of food and well prepared.

A nice-looking place with great pool and pool bar and restaurant right off the beach. No coolers on the beach??? C'mon...

Everything is really far apart. I was on crutches and it was not the place to be with that. (There for a wedding) Room was nice. Front desk/resturant bar srra needs a face lift

Beautiful place, great staff, would be 5 starts but a bit too ritzy for me. There was a dress codes for meals, no shorts and must have collard shirts for guys.... And food was a little too out there.

The room was amazing! The service was amazing! The staff was amazing! The beach was awesome!!! Everything was clean & upscale. You absolutely get what you pay for. I read that construction was a problem & although it was going on, I didn t even notice it. The only reason I said 4 instead of 5 was the fees. We ate breakfast in the hotel, & they didn t give us a drink menu. We paid $20 for 2 coffees. We were also charged $36 per day for no reason. They took it off the bill but we had to ask. Other than that I had a phenomenal week. Just check your bill before you leave.

The staff was on point with everything for our meeting. All requests were handled promptly.

The rooms are very nice, housekeeping and check-in were both very nice. The view is great for watching the sunset and there is very quick access to the beach

We went here for a few days on a work trip -- staff was amazing, rooms were great, and overall a great experience. We didn't get to use the spa, but it looked amazing!!! Can't wait to go back on a personal trip where we can fully enjoy it.

Great place to relax, enjoy the beach and amazing sunsets. Property amenities are endless. A must stay.

Room was nice. Guest service was the poorest of any resort I have ever stayed. Some of the least accommodating people I have ever met. I hope they replace the current management staff as they upgrade this resort as the management staff has made this a disappointing stay to say the least! I have never experienced such poor hotel transportation. They do not even shuttle to their gates.

The Resort at Longboat Key Club is absolutely one of the most gorgeous locations to shoot a wedding at in southwest Florida. Not only that, the venue has so much to offer; including an upscale restaurant, beautiful accommodations, attentive staff, and various locations/settings for you to hold your ceremony and reception at. In one of our recent weddings, Zoe and Brad, chose to have both their ceremony and reception alongside the beach. The setting for their wedding was perfect and consisted of white powdery sand, beachy waves, and a refreshing breeze. The ceremony took place on a spacious and seemingly remote beach under a simple yet beautiful wooden branched arch. The couple and their guests then enjoyed their reception underneath a beautiful white tent right alongside the blue waters. We just want to thank all of the staff (especially Alya) at the Resort at Longboat Key for creating the perfect ambiance for brides and grooms!

As a Very short time Employee, this experience was horrible!. Inadequate training of new hires, Hot Stones in Spa rooms were way too hot. Couples massage sessions awkwardly executed. No process or in synch coordination with therapists. After leaving company before Christmas, still have not received a final check. Paychecks are mailed via reg mail with no tracking. The company obviously does not care about employees past or present!

Beautiful resort, friendly staff from the valet to checkout. Everyone willing to go above and beyond. Our suite was clean and had an extraordinary view. We had an issue with the TV not changing channels and they sent someone immediately to fix the problem. Can't wait to stay here again!

Nice resort right on the Gulf. The pool is very large and there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas by the pool. They also offer guests chairs on the beach that is included for guests.

SUCH a wonderful resort for girl s weekend!!! The pool was refreshing, the poolside service was delightful, and the room was everything! Couldn t have been happier! Also, the security of having the gate and keeper was great!

The empoyees are great ...the pool good for kids ...the rooms are amazing...and look for the Argentine pool cocktail girl, she's the best !!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

The restaurants are really good. Beautiful beach and pool. All the employees we have come in contact with are friendly and will help u with anything they can. The hotel is very clean and if you wanted to drive somewhere everything is close by.

Not convinced that there is much value here. The beach is pretty much disappeared with erosion. The room is a little old fashioned. There is resort fee that gives WiFi which comes for free in McDonald's or many budget hotels. Staff are helpful and location is good but place is in need of modernisation or a price reduction.

Beautiful room Jr Suite goes straight to the beach and the view on the beach is awesome very laid back and low key night time is super quiet our second trip here !

Beautiful complex, very careful. It has golf and tennis courts. The rooms are very comfortable and very well equipped. I liked the resort's private beach more than Siesta Beach promises. It has a beach service and even a bar. It is very well located, very close to a service station and a publix, 5 minutes from downtown St armand circle, and 10 minutes from downtown Sarasota. I hope to return soon when the main pool is not under repair. Likewise with the sea it has not been necessary.

Impressive resort with lovely beach and golf courses. Had lunch beach side and breakfast Buffett at main hotel and off the menu at golf course. All was good.. If you have too much money their various fees and taxes will help relieve that condition! It is lovely however and a classy place.

Sadly, we had to cancel our reservation due to illness and no consideration was given for our circumstances. We asked to be able to reschedule our stay and the answer was "no" and over $1400 was kept for no time spent there. When I asked to speak with the manager he was too chicken to even come on the phone to speak with us. Unbelievable! They've lost a future customer.

Great resort! All the staff are friendly and very accommodating. We are here toward the end of the stay at home order and the trip has been nothing short of fantastic! Highly recommend escaping here for a getaway!

Bugs and more bugs
We were very excited to stay here! Had one of the extra large 2 bedroom units with tons of room and views galore! The first night our grandkids had a lot of black ants in their bedroom so the guy came and sprayed it but sadly when we all woke in the morning there were more ants actually crawling on their beds and in their coloring pads. YIKES!!! Then we started to make coffee a roach fell out of the vent area onto the counter. TRIPLE YIKES!!! I called the front desk and the manager said he would enter comps for the night. I assumed incorrectly that the night was being comped, they gave us $150 off the rate for the inconvenience. To me, roaches and ants are more than an inconvenience in a 4 diamond resort. We were moved to another floor and sadly woke to an even bigger roach in the shower. On top of the bug issues, the service in the restaurant area was deplorable. It took 49 minutiae get fruit loops!
Areas for much needed improvement:
1) hire better pest control
2) don t tell your customers it s normal to have ants in your bed
3) don t tell your customers it s normal for roaches in a 4 diamond resort costing nearly $1000/night. No one wants to take roaches and ants home in their bags or on their grandkids!
5) restaurant service needs vast improvement the service was slow, they constantly go to serve the wrong table and then bring the items to the right person.
The thing that is amazing is the location and beach. The beach service was very good and we loved our time there.

I am currently on hour 2 of waiting for my breakfast, no end in site. No one knows what s going on. No one checking on us. Will not be back. Do not recommend.

Hell of a nice place. Makes me want to move there. I would get a retirement condo there. When I'm ready to retire...

Great location however the rooms seem a little dated and could use a bit of freshening up.

Top-notch amenities. Courteous and professional staff. Great food. Clean and kid friendly. Perfect beach. Everything we could ask for.

Always picking up people and dropping people off because of my job... Security always has it on lockdown.. And very pleasant. Concierge always goes above and beyond. Always gives everyone 5 star treatment
