A lovely stay before our flight out the next day
We could not fault anything about the hotel and enjoyed a restful evening and a good nights sleep in a luxurious room
Always stay here before and after a long haul flight out of Gatwick

Clean rooms. Comfy beds. Very good food in the cafe. Tea and coffee in the rooms but no biscuits! Not one little biscuit to be found. That was the only fly in the ointment.

We are not Le Club members and randomly chose this hotel for its location and proximity to north terminal.

Always a great hotel to stop at the night before an early morning flight. Easy access to the terminal, however if you want to eat in terminal the night before you will need to take the monorail to the south terminal.

We thought the staff, facilities, bar and restaurant were all very good. In fact it made us now consider using Gatwick more often than we usually do as we need to come from North London. Staying at your hotel would make a great start to our break.

Booked a double. Was given a twin. The reception manager explained he upgraded us , thinking I should be grateful!!! I also hate the parking arrangements as there is no direct access from the hotel to and from the car park - especially unpleasant in the rain!

The room was comfortable. The porter was very helpful, showing us where everything in the room was and how to operate TV and A/C. All staff very polite and efficient in the Urban Cafe but too few for such a busy restaurant. Our waiter did his best but. He was excellent but we waited a long time to be seated despite tables being available and waited almost half an hour after being seated before our order was taken. The restaurant definitely needs more staff as this lets the hotel down.

- My wife and I have a phone and a tablet each, all requiring WiFi. Only 3 devices allowed and so had to go down to Reception again to request/demand access for a fourth device
- I wanted a beer with my supper and at least two of the products listed in the menu were not available.

This was my third time staying at Sofitel. The experience is always wonderful and you feel very looked after. The same can't be said for the service which we found to be very slow in the bars downstairs, but the stay itself is always great. Would definitely stay again.

I needed to reach and enter Sofitel Gatwick because it hosts Hertz rental. It's very close to North Terminal, I walked there in 5 minutes. Then I spent 15 minutes searching all over for the right place with a child who needed a washroom and a not so friendly staff. Inside it's dark and not welcoming.

Perfect place to stay at if your flight is cancelled.
You are literally in North Terminal. The rooms are very standard american influenced type of rooms. Nothing fancy to expect on that front, but the beds are comfortable and the room is clean. The bathroom is pretty much what you'd expect in this kind of hotel too. Friendly welcome and nice staff.

The bar closes at 00:30 and you can only pay if you've left a tab open when you check in. No cash, no credit cards accepted at the bar after midnight. The TV is so large that it hide the only power outlet you can use on the desk no power outlets near the beds heads (as in all these kinds of hotels)
The operations at the desk took forever that evening, even if I'd done most of the work by booking online. Aim for the Accor lane if you're a member, it's a bit faster. Use the express checkout box to drop your room keys.

My mother is currently staying at this hotel. She has recently got a new job which she starts the start of next month and her partner who hasn t been very ill recently and has just recovered decided they needed a WELL DESERVED holiday! They re staying at this hotel while I m at home house sitting. I then have received messages to say she had gone to the all inclusive bar to get 2 bottle she of beer and the employee (not sure of her name however she wasn t english) was very rude and said to leave some for the rest of the customers! In front of all the other customers in the bar area. My mother is a very confident lady but this has really knocked her confidence and she feels as if she doesn t want to be at the hotel any more and is very upset! Her partner complained to the manager however they have put 2 beers in their hotel room (bearing in mind it s all inclusive, they have already paid for the beers they could ve got themselves) and said they can go to a bar in a different area. This is the start of their holiday! My mother should not feel so terrible that she is crying! TERRIBLE customer service and quite frankly RUDE!

Great location. It is probably the best place to stay at the Gatwick airport. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Good facilities- spacious room, comfy beds and big windows, air conditioners. We (family of four) had dinner at hotel restaurant Brasserie - recommended - tasty food, good vine and professional staff. However, weekend that we stayed in was very busy so we faced lines to reception desk and someone wiped out our hotel cards early in the morning, tried to open room...

Made our holiday so much stress free, being able to arrive the day before drop off car and not to worry, excellent room and overnight stay. The following morning just a small walk to check in and on our return car was waiting for us at terminal for us to drive straight home. Excellent service A+++++

Everything is too complicated....

Everything is too complicated....

Unfortunately this is the second time I had to stay in this hotel (because of work).

I checked in the hotel at 8pm, went to the restaurant of the hotel and they wouldn t give me a table for dinner even though there were at least 5 tables free. They said the tables were booked but they had to call the people... and they said I would have to wait min 45 min in order to have dinner or I could call room service.

So I decided to go back to my room as they wouldn t provide me a table in a restaurant that was half empty and being a very good client of the hotel.

Rang to the number provided for room service in order to order my dinner (second time trying it). They said I couldn t get room seevice as I didn t registered my credit card and I they ask me to go back to reception. Once I was in reception I had to wait for another 20 min as there were a huge queue of people checking in....

Went back to the room and I checked the menu and realized in completely different to the menu in the restaurant. They just have pizzas, salads and pasta... I wanted some noodles as it was what I saw in the restaurant and I was in a mood for it. They said they wouldn t serve me that... so I had to take a fatty pizza.

I travel a lot and I never had so many problems in order to get food in a hotel.

The room was OK, clean and quiet. Very dark but it was OK.

If I can avoid staying here I will.

Despite staying in room 666 (argh :)), we had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. The room was very good, well equipped with a great outlook to the airport and countryside. Facilities were execelenr. We stayed on my 50th birthday, and on entering the room I was greeted by a plate of delicate biscuits and cakes with a happy birthday message on them. Thank you very much! :)

The bar we used, really nice chilled atmosphere with table service.

The bar on the mezzanine looks into the atrium, which is nice and allows you to people watch.

This place is a very very nice stop-over destination. I am a frequent traveller for business; this rates highly amongst the best hotels in which I have stayed. I would definitely return to this place, despite being one of those people that just simply enjoys variety. To any readers investigating possible stays, I am sure you will not regret booking this place up. And to the Sofitel staff, thank you for your hospitality.

It does the job if you need a bed because of a late or early flight, but it's not the same as it was. The furnishings, staff and menu seem tired. It still does the job - but so would the Premier Inn. Its one advantage remains its location.

We are a family of 4 and staying here so we can get up early for a magical experience in Lapland.

The restaurant our kids wanted to eat in was fully booked until 9pm. We compromised and got room service.

Room service took 30 minutes. All the food order bar the steak was cold.

Thanks for ruining the start of our holiday

Brilliant location for Gatwick North Terminal. Food in the Asian restaurant was really good. Staff are really attentive and friendly. The rooms are good, but nothing special considering the cost of the rooms.

We stayed before flying off to our holiday, but in truth the holiday started as soon as we checked in. The staff were great, the food was excellent and the rooms were well appointed with comfortable beds. We left our car there and returned to collect it easily with a smile and the doorman helped us put our bags in the car in the rain !! . Great team, well done.

Staff at check in was rude and uninterested. I had to repeat myself several times and not once did she add "please" to the end of her sentence e.g What's the date you're checking in? What's the car number plate? What date do you return? The staff's name was someting like Zahira. When I mentioned the word "please" might help she refused to look at me and started talking to my husband instead. Terrible, what an attitude and not one Sofitel should support.
Our room was very noisy. Why oh why do you put (repeat) clients facing out towards the runway when there are plenty of quieter room overlooking the atrium. We were also near the monorail which again caused noise. Very disappointed which is a shame because all our previous experince of Sofitel hotels has been fantastic.

We were allocated room 134. Upon an early hour check-in we were not informed that there were refurb works in progress at the hotel. After only 4 hours sleep we were woken with banging and drilling noises. After making several calls to customer services, management finally stopped the contractor from further works. We were then woken a little later from the noise of the bottle refuse area that was located outside of the room.
I won't be in a hurry to recommend the Sofitel.

Terrible hotel. Lifts in car park weren't working so had to carry all your luggage down very dangerous outdoor metal stairs. Rooms nothing special. Waiting time in the bar was just horrendous, we ending up getting up and going over to the bar to ask where our drinks were. We then got overcharged and they had to get management to come refund it. We ended up going to the nearest premier Inn and using their bar!!! Car also got badly scratched in the car park whilst we were away. One of the worst hotel experiences I've had in the UK.

I liked it.it. Can't beat the location whether you are leaving on a trip or arriving. Super easy access to the North Terminal, but also direct access (including complimentary ba&age carts) to the monorail that runs to the South Terminal.

The hotels has the usual restaurants and bars that you would expect, but surprisingly they are super competitive with any.ofnthe restaurants and fast food places in the terminal.

The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms large and well equipped, and we'll insulated to cut out outside sound and block out the sunlight so you can get a good sleep at any time of day or night. However, room sizes and bathroom sizes do vary depending on location in the building (outside or interior facing the atrium) .

It's part of the Accor chain of hotels, and benefits from the brands high standards, service, web presence and online services.

The only negative, which is quite surprising, is the lack of wall power outlets and USB charging ports in the rooms. For example, there was no receptacle or USB charging outlets between or anywhere near the beds. In fact, there were only 2 power receptacles in the entire suite available for customer use. When we asked the front desk about it they said it was the biggest, most consistent complaint they hear. Just for some contrast, we stayed at a YHA a few days ago and there were receptacles which also had USB ports built in at each bed and the room desk. Why Sofitel/Accor doesn't get this I have no idea but it's definitely behind the times.

On the other hand they offer very fast, free WiFi which is so easy to connect to and use. Definitely on 5he leading edge on this which makes it a real head-scratcher about the power receptacles and USB chargers.

All in all though it's five stars. Highly Recommended.

Very convenient hotel if you're flying from Gatwick, located inside the north terminal. Rooms are nice and clean, but a bit worn out and overpriced. The welcome desk staff is nice. They offer room service, but with a very limited menu, which turns into virtually non existent at night (and they brought me a poorly washed glass).

Lovely club room. Bed looked like and had the texture of a giant marshmallow, very comfortable. Great meal and breakfast in the Brasserie. Easy to walk through to the North terminal or catch the train to the South terminal. Would stay again if flying from Gatwick.

We were checked in quickly with no queue. The room was excellent with an extremely comfortable bed & fast WiFi. The food in the restaurant was very good, with the only negative being the service was a little slow. With the location being so convenient for the airport we will definitely stay again.

Quite and clean and the rooms are energy efficient. The front desk was kind enough to lend me an international charging plug. It's right next to the airport and the train link to north terminal and the train station which is extremely convenient.

Well pleased with the room but La Brasserie was expensive for what was served, good quality but inflated prices, especially the wine list. Quality of waiter service not impressive. Also, slap dash English translation what was clearly originally a French text. e.g. Vieilles vignes become Villid vines. Not the sort of thing to be expected in an allegedly top price restaurant.

Convenient location. Room service at late hours difficult or impossible. Rooms small but comfortable. Hands down the best hotel to stay at if you have to overnight in Gatwick south terminal .

Pillows were amazing!
Price for a bottle of sparkling water not so great.

Staff at car, reception and concierge all very helpful and friendly.
No biscuits in room was a little disappointing.

Nice rooms and great location but the corridors smelt musty. There is an inadequate number of restaurants for the number of guests and exhorbitamt prices for the quality of the offering. The bar was also ridiculously small. Room Service also disappeared with our cash payment, promising to come back with the change, but surprise, surprise they never reappeared. In future we will do our utmost to stay elsewhere.
