Very nice hotel, reasonable rates, walking distance to the north terminal at Gatwick.
Very nice hotel, reasonable rates, walking distance to the north terminal at Gatwick.
Excellent hotel. Very relaxed atmosphere. We always stay here when flying out of Gatwick. Good for both north and south terminals
As usual the hotel was welcoming and the room was very good. Only criticism was the booking system for Vanda/ the Oriental restaurant which was not functioning and getting a reservation was hard work.
Nice enough hotel. Perfect for the airport. Just a short walk through the tunnel and you in the terminal. Room was clean.
Our place of choice before jetting off on holiday. Probably not the cheapest hotel for Gatwick but it's as close to the main terminal as you'll get. They offer parking with your stay so you can arrive and drive. It's based at North Terminal but even if you fly from South you can use the quick shuttle train to get across. Bar is a bit expensive but that's to be expected in a high class hotel.
Amazing hotel...clean great staff...great atmosphere
Clean rooms, very near the terminal, doors the job.
Great night's Sleep with a few extras
Comfy beds, nice clean rooms with a few extra touches than Premiere Inn, and fancier looking lounge area and expensive looking restaurant. I enjoyed my stay and kept very well, but decided to eat somewhere a little less pricey.
Hotel is accessed from in front of the entrance to North Terminal (by foot) or via the elevator from the underground parking. It is a well appointed, modern, 4* hotel with all the amenities you could require for an overnight stay. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable bed. My room overlooked the runway but was reasonably quiet. You can hear the jets powering up for takeoff or reverse trust on landing so if you're particularly sensitive to noise ask for a room not facing the runway. The gym is small but functional (2 treadmills, 1 cross trainer, 1 rowing machine, a few weights). The service is very good, all staff friendly and accommodating. Prices for food aren't too extortionate, about 10-15% more than eating in the airport.
Customer service 100% best beds and toiletries. Great view and best location . Just very good
Upside is that it attached by a 'bridge' to the terminal. Having said that there was a strong chemical smell in the public areas, and overall the hotel appeared to be a dated average hotel in need of maintenance... Not a Sofitel.
Only there for a few hours to sleep before catching a flight early the next day, we slept well, but did not use any of the restaurants or bars. Only issue is the steep price charged for the few hours...
Incredibly overpriced!!!! Stay away! For this much money you can get a cab to somewhere reasonable, sleep there, have a fancy dinner, and then get it to drive you back at the airport. The most overpriced stay of my life!
Wow what a lovely 5 star hotel. Beautifully planned and well trained staffs. Had a pleasant experience
Super easy to walk from North terminal. Simple follow the hotel signs. Less than five minutes walking. I would stay here again.
Paid a premium for a room with lounge access. Lounge shut and put in foyer next to man toilet entrance. -
As always good but sad to find out that the restaurant was closed nothing on the web site to indicate it.
Very friendly staff, really clean room with great service!
Fabulous hotel for an overnight stay before a flight.
The hotel itself was nice however I was disappointed not to be given the room I requested especially after the person that dealt with my enquiry via email didn't seem to think it would be a problem. I specifically asked for a room on the 7th floor with a runway view as my daughter is mad on planes. Although I was told my room type wasn't available on the 7th floor, the customer service agent said he had allocated me a nice room on the 5th floor so I assumed this would still be with a view of the runway. When I checked in and got to my room which was on the 5th floor, it overlooked the lobby. I was thoroughly disappointed as this was to be the start of a holiday of a lifetime. I tried ringing down to the front desk but there was no answer so eventually I took my luggage all the way back down to the lobby and queried why i hadn't been given a runway view and was told the agent that had allocated the room obviously didn't know which room numbers faced the runway. She then went on to say they didn't have any other rooms that faced the runway. Unfortunately this did rather spoil the start of my holiday as I had already told my daughter that we were going to have a view of the planes taking off and she was also left disappointed.
Seems ok. Food good but quite expensive. 12% service charge by default.
Great beds and great location for flights. Good choice of restaurant
Insanely overpriced room service and the slowest lifts in the world!
Great service from a lovely young lady (Emma). Good size on the rooms and very comfy beds
Had a lovely stay at Sofitel, room was spacious, beds were comfortable and the facilities were good. However, just be weary of the parking. For a start, there aren't a huge number of spaces and secondly, it is very expensive. My husband and More
Overnight stay prior to an early flight. Only had room to sleep in and not used any other services used.
Check-in quick and efficient. Room was lovely (upgraded to the luxury club) as was our wedding anniversary and the staff had obviously made a note on file and we had a lovely box of chocolates and a plate with some choc on with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate (very special touches), was very nice and extremely appreciated. Easy check-out. Love love staying at the Sofitel.
First time staying at Sofitel Gatwick - very nice modern and contemporary hotel facility with several good dining options and bars/lounges. It is really an "Oasis" in the middle of such a large, busy airport and it is certainly a welcoming visit for any weary traveler. Beautiful sleek, up-to-date modern rooms in a relaxed and quiet environment.
I stayed before an early morning flight. Check in was straight forward. I was told I had been upgraded due to my platinum status but the room was completely standard. Access to the club lounge was great for a snack but hot food isn't served (unlike the lounge at the Heathrow Sofitel) which was disappointing.
The bed was comfortable with easy access plugs next to the bed for charging mobile phones etc.
No complimentary newspaper offered.
Avarage room considering the price, we were expecting it to be special but the whole experience was avaerage at best. Would go to premier Inn next time.
Always stay here before every holiday !! Make sure you get the chocolate mouse!
Great atmosphere, cool restaurant and yummy food also very friendly staff
From the moment we got to the hotel the gentleman that greeted us I believe was Hungarian was extremely helpful and kindly.the receptionist Isabel I believe was Dutch was so kind & was extremely helpful too,as my husband cannot walk at all & in a electric scooter Isabel went hunting for a raised toilet seat, she couldn't do enough for us.all your staff in the resturant was all smiles & helpful.we have been telling our friends about our lovely experience your Hotel is smashing.Your Hotel is one that other hotels should aspire too. Oh & Paul could not be anymore helpful.Well Done Will Be Back Mr & Mrs Walker
I asked for GLuten free options at breakfast and I was told by the server that my only option was the tomato, and egg - and I could have GF bread but it was put on the same toaster as normal bread - I am coeliac and can't have this. When I explained at the reception of breakfast I was told there was lots of options - either the serving staff as ill informed or there is a breakdown in communication.
The room itself was nice - bed was comfortable but you can hear all the noise in the hall with people checking in and out at all hours - which meant our baby was waking up a lot.
Wasn't particularly happy with our stay and don't know if I would stay again
Very enjoyable stay even for 1 night to catch a flight in the morning.
Perfect hotel if you have a meeting close to the airport or you need to spend one night to catch another flight. The restaurant offer is also good.
Great way to start your holiday always wonderful service in the lobby bar if you are staying or visiting
it would have been a 10, sadly, when I returned to collect my car after a very long day and tried to purchase a coffee before driving the 3 hours home after midnight I was met with a no-can-do attitude from your waiting staff. I couldn't even pay for a coffee without opening an account at the front desk.
Prior to this I had received excellent service from your door staff, front desk and the people in the restaurant at breakfast time.
Such a shame to sour the experience with the short sightedness of one person. For the sake of a cup of coffee to keep me awake prior to a 3 hou car journey.
Repuations are hard won and easily lost.
being attached to the terminal makes it perfect for overnight stays. The rooms are tidy and spacious
Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable spacious room and bed. Great food.
Will definitely come back
Excellent welcome and service at reception from Arnaud.
very comfortable room
Great hotel with easy access to North Terminal at Gatwick
3 senior ,tired, bad tempered Scots women appeared late at night having had a delayed flight from Sicily and so had missed our connecting flight to Edinburgh.
A delightful BIA helped and organised a room for us-she did it all with a huge smile so thanks to her.
Exremely convenient location. Comfortable, quiet rooms with bathtub - perfect to relax before an early flight. A five minute walk to departures from the hotel lobby - really removes the stress of an early start and makes the first day of holiday relaxing - as it should be. Worth splashjng out
Pleasant staff, stayed overnight before a early flight. The night concierge was especially helpful.
Room was clean and well presented.
Stayed here for a few hours after a late flight in, a lot of amenities on offer for guests which sadly I could not make use of but an excellent 'all in one' place if you need some shut eye, place to eat and relax/ unwind for a few hours or longer stay at reasonable prices against quality and professional staff.
A lovely Hotel just a stone's throw from Gatwick airport.
Everything 100%. Not cheap, I booked as next to Gatwick Terminal.
Reception and portering staff all approachable and helpful, in that great open atrium space that is the core of the hotel structure.
Room was fine, bed very comfy. Nice meal in the Brasserie.
Drinks are dear though, and the loss of the downstairs bar a miss. Climbing up an oddly lit staircase to a very crowded bar wasn't the answer.
Express check out appreciated as was the bill put through the door during the night.
Thank you.
First class service and accommodation, nothing more to say.
Facilities and service were great the bed was awful
Guest of the day... upgraded room, what's not to like!
The customer service here is wonderful. After months of traveling, and a rough day with Norwegian Airlines customer service, the staff here made my husband's birthday in the airport feel special. I really can't thank them enough for being so responsive and accommodating. The room was lovely and great food as well! Highly recommend.
After my stay in other Sofitel hotels I was expecting a higher standard.
The executive lounge was very poor.
We have over the last few years stayed at Sofitel the night before we fly out from Gatwick, it is a lovely bit of luxury before the start of our holiday this year was made a little bit pleasant due to the fact we had priority check in!
Fantastic hotel great for early morning flights would rekemend
Really convenient and a great start to your
Holiday
We were only stopping overnight but the room was clean and spacious. We had an accessible room as I'm a wheelchair user and it was just right for our needs. The area downstairs is nice and airy and we enjoyed sandwiches and drinks in the evening. Would definitely recommend this Gatwick based Hotel for those needing an overnight stay before a flight.
Good hotel. Food was a little expensive but what you would expect from a hotel within 5 minutes walk to the terminal. Great connections and parking.
Stay in this place very expensive to eat for what it is the rooms are outdated and need updating not going to be staying there again
The check in staff was kind, but the restaurant inside was just awful. It took almost 20 minutes to get anyone to come over in the tiny open dining area and the service was terrible throughout. The hotel is fine, but there is much to be desired. It s an old airport hotel that is super overpriced, but we stayed a night and moved on.
Excellent as always. The rooms are good as is the eating and general service
Easy to check in and staff were professional and courteous
rooms great if you don't get one facing the Gatwick free train from.one terminal to.other noise from brakes keeps.you awake. Some of the reception staff moody and rude.
Minutes away from North terminal. We had parking at the hotel.
Well located for the north terminal. Quiet and comfortable room and decent breakfast buffet. Would stay there again.
Very poor air quality in rooms! I have stayed here over 20 times in the last 3 years. The staff are very friendly and helpful however the air quality in the rooms is horrible. It is a known problem but the design of the hotel limits what More
Really like it here but did mess up on people with same surname, had early flight so keep confirming who you are not good, human error or not still an early flight to be disturbed numerous times wud give a 5 bar 4 this
