We used to come here all the time but took a two year hiatus after our baby was born. I was shocked by how much the management has let the place go.

1. Filthy. The grounds are in desperate need of a deep cleaning: cobwebs, litter, dirty windows and doors, floors in need of mopping, and carpets in need of vacuuming.

2. Uncomfortable. This has always been an issue at La Toreetta. I don't mind a firm bed, but it felt like I was sleeping on a rock. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable too. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the beds at Hilton hotels.

3. Service. Pool side service was a joke. Front desk and concierge staff were all incredibly friendly.

I gave it a 3 because the grounds are beautiful and the Waterpark is great for kids and adults alike. I remember when La Torretta was a 5 star facility. I would love to see it return to its former glory!

The location is far from IAH so they don't offer shuttle service or any direct transportation getting to and from the airport. That being said the staff said their best to accommodate such a large group all at once. The rooms are nice, and once the balconies were cleaned they were nice to sit out on. The pool area was Co.fortable and I have yet to see the spa but will update once I do.

First and last time staying here. It almost felt like false advertisement where you see all the beautiful picture of the rooms online but once you arrive it's so outdated. Hotel rooms are what I am very particular about and for $200 a night I was very disappointed. We ended up in a standard double bed for my husband and I and two kids.

Cons: The mirror outside the door was fithly and inside the room we had a long body mirror which was also nasty, so I have to keep my reminding my 5 year old to stay off the floor and glass. Also, the sliding glass door was broke and they dont offer patio chairs on the first floor so we took the chairs from inside the room. But who want to do that on vacation. So to top that, my 9 year old spots a large roach in the living room as we were all watching TV. And unfortunately we couldn't find where it went once it fell into the curtains so that was very unsettling going to bed that night. I can say I have never see a roach in all my years of staying in a hotel and I hate to blame it on the location of this place , being a little woodsy and right by the water. And I forgot the hallways where we stayed had a bad stitch.

But also, the reason why we ended up in a standard size room was because it was all that seemed half decent and you can clearly see from my feedback about that didnt turn out so well either. But when we arrived the guy offer my husband and upgrade to a villa (a little house with your personal driveway) mind you it seemed like no one else was staying in these, first red flag. But we unlocked the door and let's say we were out of there in less that a mind. There was a filthy white couch in the living room and I refused to have my kids sit on, the bathroom shower floor was nasty and in the cracks. Again no chairs on the patio and this was a lake view and right when you walked in the carpet was not fresh or clean with a few bugs. So yea we had to take "supposedly" the only room available inside the towers.

So unfortunately this maybe a local favorite because I heard so many good things that people had to say about this place, like Oh yea you will really enjoy yourself! Sooo... not true. This place is nice as long as you spend all your time outside and bring all your cleaning supplies with you.

After working almost 3 months straight I wanted to stay someplace nice while visiting family Thanksgiving day. The room was nice but all the towels were wet so I called for new one. I had to call to get new toliet paper at 10:30 PM the roll in the room was also wet.
To get room service it's a $4.00 fee, plus 23% fee, plus tax and gratuity so I went to the 157 restaurant. I waited 10 minutes to be seated there was one couple in the restaurant beside me. I ordered my food came out in a timely manner but I didn't see the server again until he brought the check. The check had in room charges, guess I should have stayed in my room since it was the same price. An $8.00 meal cost almost $17.00. Had a drink in the bar another $10.00, went back to my room to be meet by two friends. Two spiders hanging out by the sliding glass door. The door was very hard to open and the computer chair was ripped on the cushion. Just for one night cost almost $300.00, I expected more and got less. For all the extra fee charged you might want to fix the patio door, spray for bugs, and fix the leaks in the bathroom.

Stayed in a lake view room, view was nice. Staff is friendly, if a little ineffectual. Everyone at the hotel seems to mean well, but they are apparently plagued with logistical issues. Would not recommend at full price, but pleasant enough if purchased at a significant discount.

Walls between adjoining cottages are very thin. We were awakened @ 1and 2:30 am on consecutive nights by drunk neighbors in the adjoining cottage slamming doors and on the second night having a knock down drag out fight that we could clearly hear every word of.
When we spoke with the management they were dismissive, and failed to make any compensation.

We have a king/sofabed lakeview suite. The bed is very uncomfortable and the sofabed is even worse. We asked for a.rollaway bed to use instead of.the sofabed, but they refuse to give us one and instead offered an extra blanket to make the sofa softer... didn't work. The room is really humid also.

Nice place to relax but there was no complimentary coffee at the front desk. I had to spend $2.71 for a small coffee. I wanted a large but the coffee shop was out of large cups! Really? My room was finally cleaned. I didn t see a housekeeping staff running around. The shrubs were not very neat, needed clipping. But a nice place for a quick break from Houston. The sushi bar is always excellent. I will stay here again but I will lower my expectations.

Wow, lots of bad reviews on here, and after staying at La Torretta I can understand some of them. Stayed three nights during a conference over spring break and everything was decent and acceptable for the most part, but not really "great". The best part of the stay was that the rooms were actually quite nice; modern feeling with very nicely tiled bathrooms. The pool area was nice enough with the lazy river and free mini golf was a bonus. The food from the conference center restaurant was very good and the conference rooms and service was good for that aspect. Lots of families and people seemed to be having fun. Some things that weren't so good however: the fitness center was closed for water damage (although I complained and got the $25 "resort fee" knocked off my stay since I workout 5 days a week and was counting on the center being open for my stay. Had to go into the city to find a gym which was a hassle), the price for a room was EXPENSIVE I think ($233 per night for two people in double queen), the maid service was extremely late in the day, the hair dryer in our room was GROSS and covered with glue or something and it stunk up the entire room like wet dog when I used it (nasty). Overall, I don't think I would come here for a "getaway"; it really doesn't offer what I would consider to be the total resort package. I got the impression that the place is a bit mismanaged and a little seedy behind-the-scenes; things seemed a little more run-down than I would anticipate a really nice place to be overall. Don't believe me? Take the stairs instead of the elevator and tell me if you feel like you just entered a scene in a horror movie or not.....

I went to a work conference here and stayed a couple days afterwards with my wife. The conference center was fantastic and met all of needs and I believe everyone in the association was very pleased. The spa was fantastic and my wife, who visits a spa much more often that I do, was very happy with it. The hotel pools and restaurant were also great. We would visit the resort again if we are in town again.

It was a disaster from the start. This hotel is a lemon. Beautiful on the outside and sour on the inside. The front desk clerk was extremely rude and not knowledgeable at all. They sent champagne and berries for the inconvenience. Well that was kind but when we pulled Back the duvet, there was a dead spider waiting to cuddle with us. The sheets had black stains and were obviously not changed or Cleaned. The hot water didn't work but the staff instructed us to turn on the water faucets while showering and of course that ghetto hack worked. Not what we expected at a resort. The elevators broke and we were told to take 15 flights of stairs to get to our room. They have young kids running this place and they are clueless. Toothpaste globs left in the shower. Tvs had sound but no picture. The health inspector needs to shut this place down. NEVER EVER AGAIN! they will charge you 25.00 per day for a resort fee but they won't charge you or tell you about it until you check out. I WOULD RATHER STAY AT THE SUPER 8 BEFORE I STAYED HERE AGAIN!

Lake views are to die for. We got to the room and i specifically asked for the room to be extra clean. There was a bug on the curtain. They look like they havent been washed and the shower had white residue from who ever took a shower last. The staff was extremely nice. The room is really nice, but you can tell its old by some of the decor. And valet parking is $18 a night. Was it worth the 152+30 resort fee and $18 valet?Nah. It would have been nice if the rooms were cleaned. I'm disappointed there. Also, the balcony is full of spider webs and they have an old dirty chair out there. I couldn't even sit on it to relax.

We have been going to La Toretta for over 5 years now. Our toddlers love it! But every time we go we notice the lack of cleanliness! It has improved but still not enough especially the outside. We were just there for Mother's day weekend & brunch. The balconies are absolutely useless cause they are filthy & have not been cleaned in ages! The long chairs & furniture around the pools are also very dirty/disgusting!
The management should be more mindful of this as it has been a persistent problem! And we do mention it every time! It's a shame cause the place is beautiful and has lots of potential :(

Recently stayed at this property for a conference. Our check was smooth, the front desk staff was very helpful and made late night dining suggestions for us. Our room was wonderfully appointed. It was the perfect getaway! The new owners seem to be busy updating the property. The recent storms caused some damage to the workout facility, so it was closed for repairs during our stay. But the Spa, was fabulous! Our experience was good. My only wish is that the bar opened earlier!

Stayed for the 4th on the 15th floor hallways were dirty couldn't use the balcony to watch fireworks because of the huge Wasp nest went to the Adult pool next day again Wasps all over the bushes and flying around us mentioned it to the front desk they apologized that was it, spent over $400 for the short one day stay.lots of other issues but not going to break out a list. Can stay at the Marriott Marquis downtown for the same price, oh well I guess lesson learned

If there was a zero star ranking I would have chosen that. We we're a very big group that reserved the many rooms in the tower and some rooms in the cottages near the golf course. The maid service was spotty. We need to ask for towels, coffee and other items. Wifi was very weak and extremely slow. They could do anything to it. They were normally nice over the phone. They charge for a microwave to be in the room.

I have never stayed at a "resort" where when you call the front desk you get a voicemail! The beds were too low to the floor and the thin mattress mad you feel like you was sleeping on the actual floor. You have to wait 10 - 15 to get on an elevator because there is only 2 for some reason when they have 17 floors!!?? I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It's a lovely place. We visited during off season. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you have any problems they are quick to help. The rooms are very pretty and modern. We have the best view of the lake! There aren't bathtubs in the standard rooms.

Not worth the money. The room had a couple issues and my brothers room smelled like mold, mildew. The water park not very kept up with. Prices for the sodas and water were outrageous. Hint Take water and drinks to keep in your fridge in the room. There is a Walmart close by. Definitely worth a trip there for snacks.

I must say this was one of our best getaway for the weekend experiences in a long time. The resort is a quick hours drive from our home in Jersey Village Texas. Checkin was a breeze with friendly smiles and welcomes. The lake view suite was amazing! Our room was super clean. And I MUST give a shout out to Cameron and her staff for outstanding service we were shown at Coco Cove Grill..if you want fun, food and good drinks.. that's the place to hang out. We dined at Yoi that evening for sushi which was super fresh and tasty. Breakfast at Restaurant 157 definitely hit the spot with a huge buffet and friendly staff. We are already planning a return trip with other family members next weekend because it's a lot more activities we wanted to do but the weather didn't allow it. I definitely give this resort 5 We shall return!

I was not very happy with this resort. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this establishment. For the price the customers pay to stay here, it's not worth it. Here are just a few examples of what we experienced: Water spilled on the carpet when the bellman was assisting us with the unloading of our luggage in the room. He said he would have someone come up and take care the spill. Nobody ever came. Housekeeping was very lax in their servicing of the room. I had to call three times to get my room cleaned and resupplied on the second day I was there. When they finally showed up, no fresh towels, no fresh glasses, no clean coffee cups or coffee packets were supplied. I had chase down the maids to get those aforementioned items. The following day, we had no clean towels (none were left by the maids) and it was getting late in the day, so I went down to the front desk to see if they could get some them brought up. What we got was a bath mat, one towel one wash cloth (I requested two full sets of towels and not a bath mat). The restaurant service was poor. For example, the waitress said she would get cream for our coffee at the start of the meal. After approximately 10 minutes, still nothing (she walked by our table several times during this time frame). By the way, the restaurant was not busy at all during the whole time we were there.

Wonderful resort with great amenities, nice views, beautiful landscape. The loss of one star is due to the bugs and spider webs seen when opened the balcony doors. Feels like no one prior to us ever went outside for months. Other than that, can't complain anything else about this place.

Where do i start. As you walk in to check there is NO Wow Factor. Immediately You feel like you're walking into a dungeon to the right as you approach the counter to check in. The staff looks like they are very unhappy working there. They looked DEPRESSED. There should be someone in the entrance Welcoming in guest so that it's the first impression of a great place. Like the saying goes"you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt for my next 3 days stay. I must say the pools are pretty massive and the Lazy River is nice, but the hotel overall is "dated". So I walked into my room as it has a sitting suite and thought this is ok, a little dated, but ok. Then I walk into the bedroom and see the king size bed with a mattress and a piece of wood as the platform. Asian style beds!!! No offense for Asian, it's just not what I was expecting, but thought, again, I would make the best of it. The bathroom were very nice I must admit. It had a double sinks and a walkin shower. Well time for bed and as I pulled the top cover off, the bedding looked like someone had slept in it kind of like the 3 little bears story. I was hesitant to believe, but then noticed that the pillows were dirty. I had to contact front desk and 40 minutes later someone came in to change the sheets. So the next day I was expecting a business package to be delivered there at the hotel and they showed that it had arrived but they were not able to locate it. Hours later I contacted the front desk and the employee said that someone was on their way up to delivered it as we speak. Waited, Waited, Waited...then I finally called and rudely the employee said "we are very busy helping other guest!" I was not impressed. Went downstairs to the get the package and the gentleman employee had not clue where it was. I told him that I had just spoken to someone who told me that the package was being delivered. They were so scatterbrain that the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. Meanwhile while standing there the sales manager was standing by the counter and she said did ask if I needed help. I explained the situation and she said that she would see what was going on and make it "right". As we stood there talking the employee that was supposedly going upstairs to take me my package came from outside? Needless to say it was alot of drama. The manager never contacted me like she said she would. Day came to leave, I contacted Valet to retrieve my car as I pursued my exit. Waited for my car and waited. They were busy, but stood there patiently waiting. Valet guy comes up to me and asks "Are these your keys? I said "no". By the way I had provided my ticket # and showed them my ticket. By then approximately 30 minutes had passed. A few minutes later valet guy asks what color is your car, so I told him. Waited another 15 minutes, then again, they asked what kind of car do you drive, so I told them. Waited and waited..FINALLY after 50 Minutes later my car was found. When I got to my car the Valet guy proceeded to give me someone else's Keys!!!! Mine were already in the car. Well, That's my adventure to the resort. I believe that it can be a great resort with a little updating and PROPER training of staff... OH and that checkin counter has got to Go! Put some checkin counter tops to the left where the all that glass is or the right just passed the checkin where there is that open "window". Have your staff greet guests with a SMILE. A SMILE doesn't cost anything. It can make the difference in someone's stay!

This is not a resort. It's just that in name. I would not stay here again. Rooms never got cleaned even though advisory light to clean was left on the whole day. 4 p.m. check in and rooms were not available. Only 2 elevators were operational. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Not worth the $230 per night.

We were in the cabins and first cabin was fine in appearance other than the adjoining unit had trash surrounding the entrance, beer bottles, take out food containers aluminum foil and muddy boots and shoes laying across the Commons which upset our diary impression considerably. They relocated us and so far, as we are still here, it has been most enjoyable....

We stayed here for a wedding a few weeks back. The location was near the venue and the rooms were comfortable & very nice and updated. There was some remodeling on the lobby while we were here, but it did not interrupt our stay at all. The staff was very accommodating with the check in, parking and the very kind attendant, Larry who helped carry our bags up. But the best service was when we noticed we left a pair of jeans in our room, we called the following day and they found them and shipped them back to us. It was such a surprise to have a hotel do that for us. Great service and highly recommend.

This "Resort" is the perfect example of a place with loads of opportunity but just horrible management and execution. While the staff were friendly and nice, the execution and attention to detail that one would expect at a place with this price point was horrendous. For starters, it took us 1 hour to check into the hotel. There was a convention the weekend we were visiting, and many of the attendees were paying cash. This slowed things up incredibly. Not necessarily the resorts fault, but they could have had a separate line for those paying with credit/debit cards or even better, had the conference people check in at the atrium next door. Making matters worse, the sliding glass door to our balcony on the 16th floor had no lock. Not fun with a 1.5 year old who loves opening and closing doors. Added to this was the hair in the shower, and it was clear the cleaning crew and maintenance staff weren't managed very well. The worst of all was the 'Kids Adventure Land". Again it had great potential with a Nintendo Wii set up along with plenty of crafts etc for younger kids. All nice things if they would have just cleaned the joint within the last decade! Spiders and cob webs were in every corner of the place and the bathroom was just despicable. I would have been more likely to have my kids use the restroom in the stall of Reliant at the end of a Texans game as I would have let them use this one. Trash overflowed the trash can, the floors were filthy, and let's just say the toilet and sink needed to be replaced. Completely unacceptable. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Quite a shame, being the proximity to North Houston, location on Lake Conroe, and a water park that admittedly is quite impressive. What a shame!

We recently had our company Christmas Party at La Torretta for the 4th year in a row. The staff was AMAZING to work with. Mallory was our event planner and I was very impressed with her throughout the entire process. The party was flawless in large part because of how easy La Torretta makes it to work with them. If you are planning a big party, I highly recommend considering La Torretta as your venue!

This was our 4th summer to visit the resort. It was our most disappointing trip. The kids had a blast at the water park and we did as well. However, the service was not as top notch as it's been in the past. The hotel is showing signs of wear/neglect that weren't as apprant in past years. Housekeeping was sloppy. They showed up on the floor at different times and skipped our room completely on day. Wait staff was abundant the second day but the service around the pool was lacking. The day before there was one waitress who was on top of everything. She did a great job. They moved her to a different spot our second day and you could tell. Lots of staff stayed next to the outdoor bar/restaurant but none really seemed to be doing much except talking to each other. The waitress who was so good the day before noticed we hadn't been helped in the outdoor restaurant yet and took care of us even though we were not in her section. She was the best. The rest of the staff seemed to really not care. They closed the slides early one night and the intertubes for the Lazy River were limited in availability.
We may return next year but right now we'll really think about other options before booking another stay.

I recently booked a room with the resort and it was a very modern elegant hotel. The only flaw, is that they have this one employee and she is a rude disrespectful young girl. I believe her name was April and this girl was talking to me like I was an idiot who didn't have no sense once so ever and raising her nasty voice at me like I wasn't a guest let me remind you that I didn't pay hundreds to get treated badly
If it was just because she was having a bad day she needs to leave that outside work but if that's the kind of attitude she has while with customers please do us all a favor a quit .

Awesome place, very kid friendly. Pizza place on site is priced comparably to the local places. The manager Dave (i think) opened the adults only heated pool for the kids during spring break and that weekend. Mini golf was fun, as well as the fully equipped baskteball and tennis courts. Our room was large and comfy and I adored their shower setup! Shout out to Carrie with housekeeping who literally ran to grab me a pillow. Can not wait to visit again soon!

This place pools place is massive, its has a big pool for adults around 6 ft and 5 inches deep, a medium pool for young adults around 6ft deep, a slow river with traps that drop more water and water guns. The kid place is pretty fun too, and it even has a place for babies to play. Smores at around 5-8pm.
