If I could give zero stars I would. My family and I went here for a staycation in early July. My daughter was attacked and stung by yellow jackets who had built a nest under the railing on the balcony. When brought up to the manager she said there's nothing she can help me with be because it's "natural" and part of "nature". She also said that because we come here and always have problems that "maybe we shouldn't come back!" My family and I will NEVER come here again. Not just because of this incident but also because it's so trashy. They need a complete overhaul of management in restaurant 157. Service is SLOW, food is subpar and over priced. I would not suggest La Torretta to anyone, ever.

Had my wedding there years ago. I found out later that my guest had to pay for things, I already paid for. My wedding coordinator (Alana) must have hated her job. She even convinced me to hire her as a wedding coordinator for my day, which I did. Big regret. She was horrible. She lied about so many things. Throughout my entire ceremony, she rushed me and had a major attitude with my guest. I stayed in one of the rooms the night before, that stay was great. I just had a horrible experience with the person helping in my wedding and the expensive wedding package that includes everything but still had to shell out thousands of dollars. My package includes non school if drinks for cocktail hour. My guest later told me they had to pay for soda, juice and coffee. We were ripped off!

This place was a consideration on my list of place...

This place was a consideration on my list of places to stay in and/or around Lake Conroe for a family vacation away from the city, but seems there are more negative comments than positive comments for a "4-star" hotel and for what people seem to pay for a night/weekend here, Also, only part of people's reviews are visible. Not cool, La Torretta! People deserve to know the full of extent of other's good and/or bad experiences, not part of it, especially when they're paying good, hard-earned money, to stay here. Guests have other "nice" places they could have chosen to stay at, for far less money, but chose this resort. Perhaps management needs to keep in mind that "guests" can make or break this resort and it is the "GUEST" that pays employee's pay checks. Without "guests" this resort or any resort, would not be in business. Having HONEST employees in your housekeeping department is essential as well as hiring employees with good work ethics who care that a room is CLEAN for people to sleep in when they're paying the kind of money people pay for a "4-STAR" hotel experience! Also, nothing but "PURE HONESTY" with your guests when they call to find out if pets are allowed or not allowed or what activities are offered or not offered is essential!! Honesty is the only ethical decision instead of lying to them and having them arrive to find out later pets are only offered in certain areas of the hotel and outdoor activities they first inquired about are "NOT" offered. Because, y'all know... by the time they arrive they are literally LOCKED IN on their rates and would lose good money to take their business elsewhere, or it would take days for them to fight the charges with their credit card companies. Wow! I definitely do "NOT" like what I've read in the comments. This is not at all a place I could spend my weekend and enjoy it!

I had my doubts just because I read soo many mixed reviews, but. Our stay was amazing. We stayed in cottage 2205 and it was spotless. The rooms were clean up to date beds and furniture clean fresh smelling white sheets. The aqua park was clean, and Relaxing. The water was just too hot. We ate at restaurant 157 and it was verry good. All employees were very nice and attentive. Amazing weekend.

We stayed the weekend for my Husband's birthday. T...

We stayed the weekend for my Husband's birthday. Two couples, two rooms. While it has the makings to be a great resort, it really needs someone to CLEAN IT UP! It appears this place was great at one time, it just needs to be better cared for. Website is a bit misleading. Especially when comes to Restaurant 157. It is not a full buffet for dinner. They had fish, taco/nacho stuff (but no shells?), a few sides, salad, fruit and a few small desserts. NOT what you would expect for the price you pay. The breakfast there was actually more of a buffet then the dinner. Grounds, pools, rooms, hallways EVERYWHERE WAS DIRTY! We received a moldy towel from the pool attendant. There where smashed bugs inside pictures hanging on the walls. Balcony with spider webs and no chairs (so you couldn't sit and enjoy the view). The Coco cafe was a mess with limited options just like the restaurant. Told our rooms where right next door to each other, however they where down the hall from each other. The couch in our room had a piece sticking out from it that cut my friends foot. A light in their closet was staying on (hello fire hazard!). The bed sits way to low, so does the couch and the chair (which was so dirty I refused to sit in it). There was a set of chairs and a table just shoved in the corner of the room as if house keeping didn't know what to do with it? The cove bar & grill looked nice but was NOT conveniently located to the adult pool but rather over by the kids pool. There was a few wait staff walking around but none of them where ever seen in the adult area by us (which is the farthest from the bar). We decided to play a round on the miniature golf course. It was fun but again not well attended to. Part that concerned me the most was that children had access to it and the pump area as well as what appeared to be an open electric box (SCARY). The tennis courts looked un-kept as well with nets down, dirty courts etc., but they where well lit and had rackets available for guest. The lazy river was probably my favorite part of the place. It had the least amount of trash around and in it. The adult pool was super cloudy and while I didn't get in it my Husband said he found straws and all kinds of items in the hot tub (which he then quickly exited). The new Energie club looked good, we didn't stay long but everyone there seemed drunk and happy! I don't care for the hours for the Aqua Park. Not everyone wants to be in the water during the hottest parts of the day. So 10 am to 10 pm doesn't really work for us. Maybe consider 7/8 am to midnight (if nothing else just during the summer months). The bed, couch and chair all sit way to low and the bed sleeps like a damn futon. The his and hers closet and counter/sink in the bathroom was great! Over all I feel we spent way to much money to stay in a dirty place that didn't live up to what we see as resort standards. Would we consider visiting again...maybe with the kids, but for sure not staying in the tower. The cottages might be the way to go. The adjacent golf course was very nice to look at and the lake made an awesome view... from the office chair inside my room.

My family and I stayed there this past weekend. Great spot for Family! The room was great with an awesome view, the people were friendly, and the pool and hot tub was great! The service by the pool was kinda slow, so if you go, find a server, order your food first and then get your drinks at the bar. It seemed to be a little understaffed at the time we went. But the food at the poolside bar is great! We ordered shrimp and buffalo wings! Great stuff!

The only other Major complaint I had was the food we ate sat night at LAKESIDE RESTAURANT. My husband wanted it to be a romantic dinner for mothers day.But we had a terrible experience. It was overpriced and extremely disgusting. I ordered the chilian seabass, with mushroom rosotto- cost 36.00 my husband ordered a steak with mash potatoes- cost 39.00 We were Expecting to get at least 'Papas Seafood' type caliber of food, but this food was not even close. Like not nearly as good whatsoever. Whoever the chef was, had a heavy hand on the salt. So even though my seabass was cooked good, the salt overwhelmed the whole dish and ruined it. We also ordered the parmesean oysters. Again the oysters were cooked good but the spinich toppings on top were saturated in salt, my husband said his steak was okay, but they saturated it with some type of bbq sauce that was absolutely disgusting. He barely ate any of it. We were both just very dissapointed that the food was just underwhelming and disgusting. And on top of that, that night I got real sick from eating the dish I had and spent time going to the restroom from 3am- 6pm.... I felt terrible. I think I may have gotten a little bit of food poisen from whatever was in my dish. Or maybe something was spoiled in it and it just upset my stomach. I dont know, but worst dining experience ever. The next time we go, we will not eat at LAKESIDE . I'd be terrified. I wish I could have been reimbursed for all the dishes we had but my husband told me not to make a big deal about it since we had already paid for it and he was ready to get home. But we did get the oysters taken off the ticket for 15 dollars tho at the time we were there.
If you are reading this review, I would steer clear of that resturant. There are 3 other resturaunts at the resort that are probably way better. And the food inside the pool bar was good. I'd eat at those places instead. But definitely never ever at Lakeside! Shame on you guys!! You need to step your game up! At least get a better chef in there, if chef Ramsey tasted your food he'd throw it either in your face, or against the wall. Just terrible stuff! Please do better!!!!

My husband's sales meeting weekend has begun again...

My husband's sales meeting weekend has begun again. This time, in the City of Conroe. I never had a chance to experience Conroe other than passing through. We arrived at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa Friday evening. We bumped into some of husband's co-workers which was headed to the dinning room. You have a choice of buffet or ordering from the menu, either way the food was good. We went exploring the grounds and there are pools galore! My sons just couldn't wait. Next day, headed down after breakfast and had a blast! Later. . . . that evening we wanted to try a restaurant called" Pappas on the Lake." Great food, great place and great staff! And don't forget the live music. We returned to the Resort with a wonderful night. . . . Back to the pool we go! But was turned away due to lightning. That let's me know, the Resort cares about their guests. The staff, here are very cordial, hospitable, and very attentive. It's Sunday and time to head home. What a awesome time. Thanks, La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa.

I had mixed feelings about this place, and I'm always honest on my Google reviews so I'm going to have to lay it all out on the table! My boyfriend and I stood there for 5 days, we were there for a wedding. The first look at the place was a tad disappointing for the cost of the entire reservation. The expectations were much higher than the reality of the resort. The resort building itself was very dated. The rooms were alright but for the cost of the rooms per night, it definitely was a let down. We didn't even bother with the resort restaurants or the breakfast bar because the prices were very high and the quality of the food was not all that. Our room was skipped for cleaning two days in a row for no apparent reason. The rooms, in my opinion, were not as clean as they should have been. The room itself wasn't as bad as the bugs situation with this hotel. The first three nights were alright with the bug situation, a few here and there. Our last night there, we walked into our room and all of the walls were completely covered in bugs. Flying bugs, spiders, ants, you name it, it was crawling the walls. We immediately rushed down to the front desk and they did move our room, which was a little bit of a downgrade and the entire process of moving rooms took over an hour so it was a huge inconvenience. The best the resort could do is a complementary breakfast which was a disgrace because it cost an arm and a leg for our entire reservation. No one wants to deal with a room covered in insects, all over your clothes, in your suitcase and everything! The location of the resort was very pretty, being right on Lake Conroe, the views were stunning when the weather was good. Overall, I think it's a tad hyped up for what you really do get. The pictures online do not serve the resort true justice. I did enjoy myself on my trip down there, but I do not think I'd stay back at this resort over a regular hotel. There was no more accommodations at the resort that I wouldn't have gotten from a regular hotel.

Our stay at the Torretta resort was very pleasant!! The only negative thing I have to say is that there should be more places to dining in. Also the hotel store should be more updated and open more days with longer hours. The staff is very friendly, the rooms were very clean. Our check in was very smooth, the guy that was there when we checked in was very professional and very happy to assist. The pools were very clean as well as the lazy river Overall great place to stay!!

I visted for a family reunion. Online the place seemed really upscale and luxury but I was very disappointed with the food and the rooms and the amenities at the resort. Everything is extremely overpriced. Several of our rooms were dirty, toilets overflowing. We had to wait several hours for our rooms to be cleaned so we could even check in. I ordered pasta Alfredo from the restraunt. I was told it would take 10-15 mins. And it took over 30mins and the place wasn't even busy. My waiter overcharged me by $15 and when I questioned it he coped an attitude and told me to talk to his manager. Ill never come here again. Weekend ruined. Complete waste of time and energy. We ended up leaving the next day and getting a room at Homewood suites down the street. There rooms are cheaper, bigger, nicer, and include contenintal breakfast.

Hotel is very outdated and amenities listed on website are not all available. When we arrived to our room there was smeared chocolate (or so we hope that's what it was) in the entry way, and the desk and coffee table had sticky spills on them. When we went onto the patio is was covered with bird droppings and massive spider webs and spiders. When we opened the curtains we found a medium sized children's play ball and dust came blowing out of the curtains. There was also a large crusty stain on the floor. In the bedroom the carpet was miscut and there was a large gap with no carpet and the carpet nails exposed. We were told to leave the water park area due to weather (understandable) and that we would be notified when thunder had cleared and the park would be open again. In that time my family went on a search for the "arcade" that is listed on their website and hotel map, only to find that they have closed down the arcade, with no posted or verbal notice to guests. Without the arcade area open there was absolutely nothing to do while the water park was closed. Hours after the storm had stopped we asked if the park was open again, told no and then later found out that you could still go in and swim "at your own risk", but no one ever told us that, so we and many other families wasted hours wandering about waiting to be notified. They sent home the pool workers, which is likely why we were never informedthat we could go back in. Drinks are overpriced, food is mediocre. We are at the 157 restaurant, which was Al a carte on the night we were there. The waitress was wonderful and very attentive. The food was standard, reasonable price. We were here celebrating our wedding anniversary and was sad to find out that the Lakeview restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, leaving us only the 157 restaurant as our dining option. Overall, I would not recommend this "resort" to anyone. The website is completely misleading and needs to be updated with current information. We will not be coming back to La Toretta.

I KNOW THIS REVIEW IS LONG BUT READ IT ALL, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID. We are here for spring break and have been misinformed every step of the way. Prior to arriving we called to get some information on the resort for the duration of our stay. We saw that the weather was going to be a bit cooler than normal for spring break so my wife asked the person at the front desk if there was an indoor pool, they assured us there was. That was lie number one. We asked what kinds of food they had. They told us that they had 8 different restaurants, they failed to tell us that 6 of those 8 were not going to be open for the duration of our stay and that one of the "restaurants" that was actually open was a poolside bar that just sells bar food. The water park is OK at best, the biggest disappointment was the resort's blatant disregard for properly staffing the water park. There are 2 slides at the water park that have not been open the whole time. When you ask the front desk why the slides are not open they act like they are shocked, when you ask the people who are handing you towels at the entry way of the water park they tell you the truth, which is, the resort didn't staff a lifeguard for the week of Spring Break. I don't understand why I am paying a resort fee and getting hotel amenities. I will never recommend this place to friends or family and I would strongly discourage anyone who is reading this from staying here. I would normally recommend calling to ask which amenities will be open during your stay, but they will just lie to you like they did to us. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

La torretta resort more like the terrible extort(ion). This hotel offers the very minimal for its high price. To be fair, the room is quite spacious and tidy. However, despite making a loud rattling sound, the old air conditioning system provides poor ventilation as the room becomes very stuffy at night. In order to breathe again, We opened the balcony door for less than a minute and about fifteen giant mosquitos and other small bugs stormed in (we stayed on the seventh floor). I had a horrible sleep, waking up numerous times on their beyond uncomfortable deformed mattress of their rollaway bed. I understand it wasn t the season but the golf club and the pool were closed and under construction during our stay. We checked out the spa which was small and the service was inhospitable. There was this dumpster right below our balcony that was fairy distasteful in the lakescape (see picture). The basic continental breakfast that should ve been free costed $19.95 person; water in room costed $3; additional $25 resort fee every night This is a hotel that you are most likely not having a satisfying experience even if you are willing to open your wallet. Highly don t recommend.

I just got out of there. Nasty nasty place! I have to sort my trip because every place there was nasty. From the entrance to the rooms. They give us a dirty room to begin with. I took a bunch of pictures to warn other customers to not to waste their money in this hotel. Pictures they have in their website are not real. Big Scammers and they charge lots of money!

Loved the pool area and bar area of the resort. My biggest complaint is their lack of trust. I left two nice shirts in the closet of my room. I called that afternoon to let them know that my friends that were still staying at the resort would pick them up for me. The shirts are NO where to be found. We all leave things behind but for the cleaning department not turn them in so I can get back makes me so frustrated!!!!!!!!!

8/11/2017 I am currently still at LaTorretta. We have been here since Saturday. Our stay has been a+. The staff has been a+. We currently are stuck due to Harvey but LaTorretta has rolled out all the stops and have made our stay as comfortable as possible. I have posted a picture of what I am looking at outside of my window. If I had to get stuck somewhere I am glad that it was here. I just want to personally thank the staff at LaTorretta, from the valet who were very concerned about our vehicles and our access to them, to the floor staff, concierge and maintenance who were very involved during the whole incident in keeping us informed and making sure we had all our needs met. World class staff producing a+ service. Thank you very much!!

I was very disappointed.

I was very disappointed.
I would start by saying that the pool area is very nice, and staff are friendly and helpful, but the cleanness of the room was horrifying. I will just say that I even had a cockroach walking on my leg inside of the room. The floor was so dirty I was afraid to walk without flip flops. Spiders, and spider webs webs everywhere, coffee filter was never removed from the coffee maker, disposable cups had bugs inside, sheets had stains. To get into my room the door was cover in mosquitos, so as soon as I entered the room tons of mosquitos went inside the room. It was really a nasty experience.

We checked in on Monday June 3rd and checked out on Thursday June 6th, originally we were only going to stay 2 nights, but because we thought the place was really nice we added an additional night which was a waste of money. The food that the restaurant serve is over priced and not that tasty. The furniture that is located in the restaurant 157 is so old and stained that I didn't even want to sit down, no fresh smell at all. The menu for the 4th of July buffet was horrible. The gift shop was never opened the times that we went down there. The place looks like a ghost town. So each time we wanted to eat we had to drive into town. We had a Lakeview room that had one plastic lawn chair on the balcony, we are still trying to figure out why the bed was so low to the floor, the pillows should have been discarded years ago, they are so soft and they have a musty smell to them. The thin mattress that's on the bed was so uncomfortable. Our room was on the 19th floor and once you exit the elevator you were hit with a horrible smell and in the room where the ice machine is located was smelly and dirty. The room service cleaned our room, but we ordered room service the 1st night and part of the dishes stayed on the counter the entire stay. The room never had a refreshing smell to it so I'm not sure what they cleaned with. One of the Valet guys snatched the ticket out of my husband's hand, wasn't friendly at all. For the amount of money we spent for the stay it wasn't worth it. Very disappointed!!!!!!!

"La Torretta: Our Incompetence Knows No Bounds!" An abridged version of events: After booking and PAYING FOR a lake view villa a full month before our stay, we were informed upon arrival that we had been bumped from our original room and instead would be staying in the golf cottages. Management's offer to compensate for this screw up? "We can refund the price difference on your card!" How generous. The golf cottages can most accurately be described as a shanty town. The exterior of these crudely-built shacks are surrounded by dirt (no money for landscaping here!) and the interior reminds me of an Amsterdam youth hostel. There is a complete and utter lack of communication between staff members; the restaurant staff is beyond unprofessional (have you ever had a server stand over you while you work out the tip?); and to get in one final kick in the teeth, the staff lost our credit card for a solid 15 minutes. In case I was not clear: do not stay here.

We had a fun filled weeked planned with our car club. We arrived with a car in an enclosed trailer and the only place they had for us to park was a half mile away in a gravel lot, no gate, no security. They would not allow me to park in either of the two valet parking lots which were next to the hotel.

We were extremely upset and ended up canceling our reservations, and driving back home that evening. We would NEVER NEVER RETURN to this hotel.

Not a terrible place to spend a weekend! Visited here on a business trip. The rooms seemed a bit outdated, and ours at least has a small odor. The rest of the facility was nice, though a bit bland in design. Didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked like it would have been fun!

Overall our experience here was decent. I will say that the activities on the property are abundant and the water park is fun for sure. What I think is lacking is a sense of ownership and direction by the management. The facelift done to the place is nice, but the true test lies in the details; and some of the details are beginning to show signs of wear and tear.

We had a conference last week and things were bad from the start; first the rooms in the tower had bug infiltration problems and some food trays were left in the hallways throughout the morning and into the afternoon. I was more horrified when someone left the service door open by the ice machine and I saw trays upon trays of unfinished food being left on the floor. I took video and pictures to show my bosses. Furthermore, security there is a joke and run by people who don't know their job. There are no real supervisors to take charge of a simple problem, like kids and people running through hallways, loud music coming from rooms, or trying to get some assistance when my wife left her expensive glasses in one of the bars. I won't get into the status of my room, as it was noted earlier on this thread that sheets weren't changed and stains everywhere...not including the grime in the showers! As for trying to get hold of any managers, it is impossible. I'd rather stay at a Hotel 6 or something up the road than this "resort" hotel.

My husband and I visited the resort on 9/18 and 9/...

My husband and I visited the resort on 9/18 and 9/19. Just a quiet, quick getaway during the week.

When we arrived we had a very pleasant young man at the front desk who checked us in with no issues.

Our room, located on the 13th floor, was quite spacious even though the furniture was not modern. The room is equipped with a safe and a mini fridge. A king size bed sits really low to the floor, however, the wardrobe was somewhat of a better quality with sufficient storage.

The bathroom has an enclosed toilet and double sinks which were both a plus!

On our first day. we ordered room service and the food arrived in a timely manner. We placed the dirty dishes outside of the door to be retrieved by room service. .

On our second day we decided to visit the pool/lazy river.

Upon leaving the pool area we'd misplaced the room key. My husband returned to the front desk while I waited outside our room. When he finally returned he describe an incident at the front desk that lead to me writing this review.

While my husband waited at the front desk, young lady was called to escort him to the room. This young lady decided quickly after looking at him, she was unable to assist. So another young lady is called. She too, decided she was unable to assist. Meanwhile I'm still standing outside our room, with a wet swimsuit on trying to figure out what's taking so long.

A third person is called, (believe was his name is Dom) who was very apologetic and was able to grant us access back inside our room.

Having worked in the hotel industry for over 10 years, I know lost/misplaced room keys are a pretty frequent request and easily remedied. This should NEVER have happened.

Either there is a real need for diverse training or just an blatant disregard for guest satisfaction. Which is why I was prompted to write this review.

My husband immediately called and spoke to the manager, Britt.
During the discussion first advised the previous night's dishes were still sitting in the hallway.

Next, my husband began explaining his experience with the staff, after misplacing his room key. The manager, offered to comp both the resort fees and breakfast the following morning, which he ensured was being taken care right away.

Although we really appreciated his efforts, when we received our bill on the day of check out, the fees had not been removed. My husband spoke to the night manager, and was advised he had not received any instructions for the adjustments to our bill.

Later, that morning, around 9 a.m., my husband spoke to Britt and received the adjusted bill along with the breakfast comp for two.

Besides the issue lost room key issue, the ice machine on the 13th floor was out of order. The housekeeping staff does a poor job is cleaning in between guest. There was a broken piece of broken soap and a trial size bottle of lotion from the previous guest in the bathroom. And if that's not enough several strands of hair on the shower wall. The more I think about it I wonder if the room was really ever cleaned after the previous guest. To think we may have spent the first night on somebody' else's sheets makes my flesh crawl!
Even after we advised the manager our dishes from room service hadn't been picked up, the dishes remained in the hallway when we checked out on Thursday 9/20.

There is a serious need for diversity training at this property. along with housekeeping practices that should be addressed IMMEDIATELY.

This level of poor customer service, and blatant attitudes of the two young ladies called to address our room lock out , is totally unacceptable in any facility and is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Requesting to be granted access back into a room is a perfectly reasonable request from a guest.

I sincerely hope this review will serve as opportunity to educate, train/retrain the staff of La Torretta Lake Resort,.

Absolutely the worst resort I ve ever been to. My in laws booked my wife and me a room for our wedding night and it was a joke. The best part about it was the laughs my new wife and I shared about how awful it was. We ordered champagne and a cheese plate to the room and it was brought up hours late, wrapped in Saran Wrap. The grapes were rotting. They also made a mistake on the billing and tried to charge us 200+ dollars for upgrades that were paid for prior to our arrival.

Absolutely wouldn t recommended to anyone.

My wife and I spent the night for our 20th anniversary. Check in was a little rocky as my wife had to go back through the check-in line to get the vouchers that came with our room package.

We got a villa room and it was fantastic. My wife said it was one of the best rooms that we've ever gotten. Given how many of the other villas that seemed to be empty, we were a little disappointed to end up with neighbors.

We spent some time in the aquatic park. There is an upper level with an adult pool and a hot tub. Unfortunately, the was enough trash in the hot tub that we didn't feel it was worth it to get in. I'm sure it was probably related to the very large group which had just left that day and that the staff hasn't had a chance to get there by mid afternoon. The lazy river was a lot of fun and we ended up staying there for more than long enough to get a little "sun kissed."

We got vouchers for breakfast and took advantage of the buffet in 157. The food was kind of mediocre, but we were both impressed that they at least heated the pancake syrup.

We ended our stay with a trip to the spa for a couples massage. The spa staff was very pleasant and professional. We left relaxed and happy.

There were a lot of spider webs around the property and things such as that. Really it was the little things like that and our check-in experience which kept me from giving them a 5th star.

Ive neglected to go for 3 years now because of negative reviews ive read. I finally decided to just give it a shot for myself and im so glad i did! My family of 5 stayed one night in the tower. The room was great and so was the view of the resort. The water park was a blast. It was clean and the pools all felt warm and comfortable. We enjoyed a fun game of putt putt around 11pm and the course was nicely lit. The thing i was worried about the most, was probably the best part: the service. Every single employee we interacted with was extremely nice, courteous, and friendly. I wish we wouldve stayed 2 nights instead of one. We only got a chance to do the water park and putt putt. We're coming back for sure. Btw, if u go, i recommend Mckenzie burgers and bbq down the road. The food was delicious there.

I hate to be negative, but this resort was very disappointing. Not what we expected. Room had a bad smell, there was fruit flies, shower was dirty, carpet was dirty, and our shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. We had to mop up the bathroom after each shower. When I called the front desk to ask for more towels and tell them about the leaking shower they weren t concerned one bit, and just sent extra towels for cleaning the floor. The patio door handle was broken. We had a bad experience at the bar as well. We ordered dinner for our large group, and after we waited 45 minutes they told us the kitchen ran out of what we ordered. It was very odd. It seemed like a fun place for families, but it was definitely not a luxurious resort .

I have to say that the only issue that i had at the time was when i checked in. I set my reservation for one of the cottages, and upon arriving to the unit. IT WAS DIRTY!!!
The unit had not been cleaned from the previous ppl that were there.
First time to the facility and this happens.

Once I when back to the Service Desk they transferred me to another unit.
The cottage overall was spacious and nice. Being secluded from the hotel and not hearing all the activity going on from ppl walking the halls was great.
Pools where not crowed, and enjoyable
Overall going there to relax with or without the kids is nice, and i would go back.

The staff was extremely friendly. That was the positive part of the experience. Paying extra for a lakeside view was a complete waste of money. There were spider webs and gigantic spiders all over the balcony. I don't mean one or two. It was covered in spiders from top to bottom. We could not enjoy the amazing view at all. Paying almost $300 for one overnight stay, certainly comes with expectations. Mine were not met. It was my husbands birthday and his only request was to smoke cigars lakeside. This place appeared to be perfect. Not only was the patio covered in spiders, the sliding door was COMPLETELY covered in what the staff referred to as 'lake flies'. The room itself was nice, but difficult to enjoy when you're swatting bugs every few seconds. It was like something out of a movie. We went to sleep itching and completely disgusted.

Had a great 2-night stay. Check in and out was a breeze. The gated kiddie pool area was a plus for the little ones. Self-parking was not a long walk so didn't need to use the valet. Friendly and helpful staff.

La Toretta Lake Resort and Spa is beautiful. We went as a surprise for my husband's 44th Birthday this weekend and found the resort to be our kind of relaxing mini-getaway. It was quiet and the view was amazing. There are 7 restaurants on the grounds but we chose to eat out before we came so we didn't take advantage of it. Next time we will. We will definitely go back.

On arrival we parked everything was great they allowed us to leave the car in front of the hotel until we have checked in the runes however we're not perfect the shower had a drain issue the balcony door would not open and there was a obvious hole in the wall in the bedroom. Restaurant 157 provided terrible service given that they were extremely busy I would say that this is expected.

Awesome getaway. The elevators were backed up and one was even inoperable when we checked in. None of the bell boys spoke a lick of English, but despite that rough stay we had a great romantic weekend.

I would rate higher but the AC always seems to be inop in parts of the fitness center.

Love the lazy river and the pools.
Some advice: if ordering food at the pool, stick to the wraps, burger, or chicken fingers. My daughter ordered the fried catfish basket and could not eat it (sick after). The fried catfish still has the skin attached under the breading. We pointed this out to the waiter and he said it comes that way .

What a nice place. I really enjoyed the pool (lazy river, bucket thing that fills with water and dumps on everyone, slides for both young and old) very nice. The food was good. Everything was very nice. This place would be absolutely perfect if they just did some maintenance. Ex. Nice leather furniture in the room, but the leather on the office chair was half ripped off. Nice leather sofa, but huge cuts in it. Nice carpet, but stains all over. Restaurant 157 is very nice, but the stucco under the sign has faded paint and tons of holes in it. The pool is awesome, but the paint is all gone on the weed barrier to the lazy river. The landscaping is cut, but is mostly dirt and dying. We wanted to get a capachino, but their espresso machine is "out of order", but considering there is no espresso machine, I'm assuming it's out indefinitely. When I asked what the eta was for the espresso machine I got a deer in the headlights look, confirming my suspicions. It's not bad or anything, just with a little updating and some tlc this place could be spectacular. I'll be back. I hope it receives the much needed tlc before I come back or I will be sad. Not mad, but sad for what this place could be.

Within one year this place has gone downhill. The kids water park was disgusting. The water park had minimal server's and would just walk past you. Only one of there many food and beverage areas were open and it was diff not centrally located. The hotel was clean and nice. But the surrounding area was horrible.

I felt as if at first everything looked great. We were very excited to have a getaway for my husbands 30th Birthday/cheap babymoon. The first time the toilet was used after a two hour drive to get to the resort the toilet wouldn t flush and seemed like it was going to flood. We had to wait 45 mins for the maintenance man to come which was kind of a bummer bc we wanted to do something as soon as we got there to make best use of our time. We had a good time at the hot tub & heated pool. We got ready for dinner and left. We get back and settled for bed and the toilet wouldn t flush and flooded AGAIN. I wasn t about to stay up waiting for them to fix it. It was severely aggravating to have that be a condition of the room when you re 36 weeks pregnant and need to pee multiple times during the night. My husband handled it in the morning bc i was so aggravated it really ruined the experience. He did say they were super sorry. Also as a heads up the beds are super stiff. The rooms and views are nice. The staff was friendly.
