Had a great stay this week at a conference. Room good. Service fine. Lobby wasn't up to 4 star plushness.

Harvey didn't affect my stay. 8th floor, gorgeous lake view!!
Very nice place. Had a very good piano player in their inside bar. They have an Asian cuisine if you want a bite to eat. The water resort is very cool. And they have a DJ after 9 O'clock in their conference area that jams out for some dancing.
We stayed one night with our three kids for a short weekend getaway. The pools were fun and the little Beach was nice, although we felt a little rushed with the short time we had. I would recommend staying two nights if you can. We got a suite with a king bed and pull out couch. It worked well for our family and the room was nicely updated. Our room was on the third floor, which didn't provide much of a view. We were apparently above the shops, which extend out from the tower itself. In fact, our balcony was flush with the roof of the shops, which was not too appealing. The lock to our balcony door was broken so that we could not lock it, which made us nervous having kids sleeping in the living room. We went out on the balcony and noticed that the bars on the railing were a bit far apart. Not a few minutes later, our two year old had slipped THROUGH the railing and was on the ROOF of the shops! After moments of pure terror we were able to literally talk her of the ledge, but it was terrible enough that we put a chair in front of the door and never went out again! We told the management who said they would fix the lock, but didn't seem too concerned about the railing. Thank goodness we were not a few floors up, or the story might have turned out very different! In short, the amenities are nice, but the balconies are a death trap. Be very cautious here if you have little kids!
I stayed at this resort as a last resort. No kidding food was too pricey for what they were had, got kick out of the pool and their energy lounge as well. The resort is too expensive for what they have to offer. Will rather pay a little more for something worth it. Not coming back and would not recommend .
Spacious, comfortable, valet staff very accommodating and friendly! And 24hr Minigolf! What else could you ask for!
Room was nice. I love the way all the rooms are like small suites with seating areas separated from the bedroom. We had a/c issues, with it not working when we first got there, to having someone look at it twice, but were told there was nothing they could do about it. It was difficult to sleep and felt sticky in the room the whole time
Room was clean but the front desk and valet people were run and misleading on fee as that try to charge you even when they say it was complimentary. Was charge double!!
Went as a 10 year anniversary retreat with my husband. Definitely going back with the kids later this summer!
Lovely and well done tennis league luncheon! I was able to valet park, everything was clean and the wait staff was attentive and pleasant!
Avid golfer, I have golfed at the resort now twice - both time were awesome. The course was in immaculate condition both times and the staff was very professional and courteous. The course is longer than your average course - challenging from the white tees, but not obnoxiously so. I typically golf here earlier in the morning and run into the course maintenance staff but they always stay out of the way and also are very nice. Over all, I highly recommend the course, plus as an added bonus it is very competitivly priced. Enjoy your round and stop in for a hotdog and a beer at the turn, you won't be disappointed.
Nice rooms, anenities and views. Very friendly staff
Very disappointing stay for a lake resort setting. The location is convenient for those near Houston and offering lake access is a positive feature. After that, however, I have nothing positive to say about this property. It has MUCH potential, but it is poorly maintained and poorly manicured. Even on a summer vacation weekend stay, we had to track down a valet attendant and were offered no assistance with luggage. We saw several moms loading and unloading luggage. Then, the facility itself has not aged well. Weeds populate the landscaping in the high traffic pool areas and lazy river. Many areas are in need of a fresh coat of paint or a replacement panel on the facade of the building. Staff appeared to match the mood of the place as just trying to get through the end of summer. This is place could be something special but it needs considerable investment and service commitment to stay relevant.
My experience with them was very disappointing. Left message with manager, he never called me back.
What this place lacks in technical ways it sure makes up for with heart and soul. We have been here more than a couple of times and each and every time enjoyed it immensely.
I enjoyed my stay at this resort. A few things were not 5star quality however. For after dark walking back to the hotel from the conference center, the pathway is very dark, and anyone who doesn't see well after dark could easily fall.
Also, it would be nice if they had a small sink near the entryway counter. That would make it easier for groups sharing a room. A privacy shower curtain either on the tub area or shower area would help as well.
The beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean, and front area service was great, but not in the restaurant. The cafe was very short handed even though they had 3 weddings and our 200 person convention.
Excellent site, we recommend it for business and rest trips with the family !. Very good service, the pools are large and thermal. The food is very good.
This a room only review
My room was a suite
There were not any sheets on the pull out couch bed.
The main was hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were thin and not supportive.
There is not a microwave in the room
Water pressure was low
Room was ok. Carpet was filthy. Bed is too low, as well as the sofa. Decent sized room. Apparently they refuse to use ac in the hallways
Overall nice hotel. A lot of things to do and keep your self busy. Price are a little high for resort pricing. Also had to ask 3 times for a roll away mattress.
Lovely place. Rooms are amazing and the grounds are beautiful.
Nice resort to relax my kids loved nice swimming pool, the views are beautiful on mornings,JD
This is a wonderful trip. The hotel staff have been so accommodating and there is so much to do here. It is a beautiful hotel!
Here now and pissed. The ac isn't working, the floor is filthy, there is mold in the caulking in the shower, there is mold in the infinity pool and the food is sub par. We booked a room in the tower over looking the lake. We expressed several times that we had two dogs and were told this was just fine. We were also told that they had kayaks available on the property. We got here we were told dogs were not allowed in the tower so they had to put is in a cottage (a shuttle ride away from everything) and that the room would be $60 more. We had our confirmation number but they wouldn't honor the price. They do not have kayaks and I have called the front desk twice to fix the ac to no avail. La Quinta in Willis is much cleaner than this place and close to a kayak rental place. I am seriously unhappy here. They charge too much. We basically have $800 in holds on our credit card for this place.... $250 in dog deposit, $370 for charges me may use around the resort (they will be returned if we don't use) and then the room. This place is ridiculous.
Oh and all the little customer service signs and menus in the room have old dried food and food stains on them.
They do make good drinks, that's the only positive I have found thus far.
Because of heavy rains and flooding, the pool, aquapark and cable tv were unavailable but the hotel staff were helpful and accommodating and gave a discount for the hotel stay.
We went in the winter so all of the summer oriented activities are not a part of this review.
They place a $100 charge on top of your room charge for incidentals, which is not told to you before you walk up to check in. Some forewarning would be nice.
On site prices are outrageous. There are a lot of great services on site, but it seems like most people are priced out of the market. There isn't enough other options close by to give the hotel any reason to be competitive with prices so be prepared to pay $10 for a pbj.
My brother ordered room service and were given the wrong dish (his gf is allergic to the incorrect dish they brought) but were only offered free breakfast as a remedy.
We are here now crammed in to a room (cottage) we did not reserve, I would cut them some slack if the just goofed and we're too full like they said last night but half these cottages are empty so you got busted guys
I booked through Groupon after making multiple calls back and forth getting it crystal clear about what I was suppose to get
We opted to take the cottage main suite with the option of adding a room connected 'for 100$ for the second night
But once we got here, I see next door is the room we ordered and they stuck us in the spare room with no back patio. what the con artist did was give us the "spare" bedroom because we grouponed. Despite we made it extremely clear to get a patio during our reservation.
I went to talk to the polite people at the front but their hands were tied it wi be $250 plus tax and they would ask me " do you know who you talked to" you know that agents name that booked the room would only be scrubbed off clean from the reservation if they were running a groupon scam and in my opinion those critters are doing just that
The confusion with the over crowed room was just the beginning; food took hours (not making this up) one toilet would not accept any toilet paper. Our next door neighbors smoked like chimneys as nasty smoke creep through the connecting door.
I highly recommend to use your iphone to record every word while making your reservation , then post their scam on youtube like I should of
The people are friendly and the view is spectacular!!! The food was great the atmosphere was awesome!!
8th floor view! Nice view you can see everything! My boyfriend and I had a nice little stay. The bed was pretty comfortable and we loved the separate sinks.
The rooms were clean, quiet and spacious. The hotel service was great. The front desk person remembered me by name and was helpful with my needs. We ate at Restaurant 157 for breakfast and lunch and the food was good, great selection and good service. My spa experience was also good. I got the swedish massage by Crystal and it was good--firm hands, very professional. I would highly recommend!
Beautiful there! We came for a conference. The view...amazing. tucked away in pine trees next to a little man made lake.
We were served a romaine lettuce salad topped with grilled chicken breast and a unique dressing. And then a large serving of cheese cake! I qas too full from our meal and gave my cheesecake to my husband...He gobbled up like a starving person! LOL!
We didn't stay there but wish we had amazing place to relax!
Nice place. Somewhat dated but kept clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very relaxing.
When we first checked into our room it was gross. The wall had chocolate smeared on it in plain view from the front door and it wasn't cleaned. There was a dead bug hanging from a light that wasn't removed. The coffee table was not cleaned at all and had drink liquid marks on it and was sticky. The carpet looked to be barely vacuumed. There were dead bugs under the curtains and when I moved the curtains I saw dust billow out like they've never been cleaned. There was also a ball from the previous guests that was left in the curtains, so you know the cleaning staff didn't even move the curtains to vacuum. And the balcony was the worst. The balcony was covered in spider webs and had two large spiders. It had a ton of dead bugs on the floor and was just dirty and unusable. Luckily the bed sheets a d bathroom was clean. I called the front desk and the staff quickly came up and cleaned everything. But it should have never been ready for a new guest in this condition. Just a horrible first impression that doesn't bring confidence to the hotel. The resort closed the Aqua Park due to lightning and thunder (which is understandable), but they don't have anything else to do here. They claim there's an arcade on their map and flyers, but it's completely closed down. I came here to enjoy the resort but ended up roaming the premisses bored and finally just played mini golf on a flooded course. If La Torretta reads this, here's some advice: I get it, you can't control nature, but you really need something for your guests to do since your main attraction is the Aqua Park. You have a ton of space with like 10 huge ballrooms. You should convert one of your ballrooms into a game room. Have couches, board games, playing cards. Maybe throw some gaming consoles with a couple of TV's. Put a few billard pool tables, table tennis, some foosball tables perhaps? It's a little sad that you had an entire hotel of guests with children, doing NOTHING on your resort and bored out of their minds because there basically is nothing to do here when the Aqua Park is closed aside from drinking at the bar, playing mini golf in the rain, or playing tennis with broken rackets. The gym was really nice though.
Golf at la Torreta was a blast. The staff was courteous and attentive I will be visiting again
This place needs to be updated. I would have rather spent the weekend at the holiday inn.
Rooms are gorgeous, polite staff and plenty of water fun activities outdoors for the family! Pricing on point too
Just returned from a one-night getaway with my husband and family for his birthday. We weren't impressed at all. We had some valuables in the car and didn't want to valet, so we had to self park about half a mile away and when we asked the valet if there was a shuttle or golf cart person that could bring us to the hotel with all of our luggage, they said no. They seemed completely uninterested in helping us at all. So we had to do our best to carry it all ourselves. The unfortunate part was that we had gone to the spa before we checked in, so after some relaxing spa treatments we then had to sweat it off carrying all of our stuff to the high rise. By the end it was like we hadn't even been to the spa at all. I also had called ahead to have champagne in the room for my husband, but the person who put in the order messed it up somehow and they couldn't even find the notes on my reservation. They were kind enough to bring a bottle of champagne to the room complimentary to make up for it, but we didn't have much time to drink it because we were leaving for dinner by the time it all got fixed. Finally, my in-laws' room had vomit on the floor that my sister-in-law stepped in by accident because it hadn't been cleaned. After the room was finally cleaned, we woke up the next day to discover there had been bed bugs in the bed, and my mother-in-law had bites all over her. The beds are also super low to the floor, and my father-in-law could barely get in and out of them due to a bad hip. The one bright side was the Lakeside Restaurant, where we had the most delicious food and a wonderful server named John. I would return to Lakeside in a heartbeat, but will never stay at the resort again.
Stayed at the hotel was one of the worst experiences ever! Bar is horrible front desk people are rude and life guards are distracted!
The place don't have enough linens so they can't check in on time. Have to wait on laundry. Seriously.
So that was first day, 1.5 hr late check in, or 530pm.
Then go to tuck in and our pillow had a big stain..........gross. To late to call housekeeping.
Then second day, no clean room until 6 pm, then no new towels. Didn't realize until we stepped into shower, now waiting 30 min for housekeeping to show up w towels at 11:15pm.
They are trying but not sure what is lacking. Training, knowledge.............
Do not stay at this hotel - it is overpriced and the amenities are run down and poorly maintained. The hotel has also not advertised well and they have given themselves a high rating and when I contacted them to let them know that I was disappointed - they have yet to contact me and make things right. Also if you end up staying there, check your bill property as they charged us extra and I had to dispute a few charges with the front desk person before leaving. Extremely disappointed with this experience as this was supposed to be a relaxing birthday weekend getaway and it was not worth it.
Nice resort. Our family really enjoyed this place. Room size was perfect. Pool area was a hit with the kids.
Good location and views. Need more attention to cleanliness and food quality.
Pool was very very fun. The slides are the best and the food is good but the prices of the food was inconsistent. I mean $9 for a slice of cheescake, really. People don't come to get away to spend a fortune on food you could probably get at Walmart. That's it
Nice location. The interior is nice but the rooms seem older, although they are very large.
One of our friends blessed my husband and I a 2 night stay for our 27th wedding anniversary and we loved this place. The room was so cozy and the sheets smelled really clean. The water park was so much fun I already want to go back. I will make a suggestion; a mini fridge would be awesome to keep at least waters. Thank you!!!
It's was bad enough to find two dead spiders in my bed on my first stay, but is just ridiculous that on my second stay, a year apart, I actually got bitten by one; and poisonous enough as for to take antihistamines.
So much for a "spa" resort...
Wow I'm impressed by this place. So much to do in the little time we spent there we did not get to do it all. Golf, water parks, kayaking, different restaurants. We will definitely be back here again.
This review has no reflection on the actual stay which was wonderful as my parents have stayed here multiple times for their anniversary.
However after noticing a double billing however it seems that any definition of customer service goes out of the window and this is higly upsetting. We called earlier this morning about the issue and then the young man said he would look I to it and call us back. Its been 2 hours and we have heard nothing so far. Then we figured we could call and get an update and this highly rude and generally unpleasant woman in sales was highly unsympathetic and I wondered how she would feel if she was charged close to $1000 for a hotel room. I guess that doesn't mean much.
I doubt we'll be coming back which is a shame because it's quite beautiful here and I was thinking about spending my own anniversary here with my husband but it seems once they've gotten their money from you, twice over in this case you're just dust in the wind.
I stayed here again after being there 2 years ago. It has went so far downhill I would never go back. The furniture in the rooms is disgustingly filthy and one foot off of the floor. The bed, the chairs, everything not sure what that's about. The floors were filthy, the elevators were covered in greasy smudges everywhere and the food at the restaurants were deplorable. We went to try the racquetball court one day and one of the two racquets had a huge hole in it. The pillows smelled like they haven't been cleaned in months. We left our brand new vehicle with the valet and when we checked out they brought it to us COVERED in tree sap and hard water spots! No apologies just here it is. I filed a complaint with the hotel and heard nothing from them. They sent me an email for a review and I replied with the same information herein. I took numerous photos just to show we were not being picky or exaggerating in our comments. Everyone else we talked to who were attending same event as we were said they never had one good meal while they were there and the place was "worn out".
The rooms are fancy, the staff is good, it's amazing there. But I swear that I thought I'd die on the elevators. I heard snapping sounds and a lot of other scary noises. I do not recommend taking the elevators. I would've taken the stairs, but I was on the 12th floor. But I recommend the hotel.
Had Thanksgiving. Food was excellent and for a crowd of people it was an easy task to get served.
This place is HUGE. If your in the area this is the #1 place to stay for a night or for a week.
My wife surprised me for a birthday weekend trip here with plans of playing at the pool and boating on Conroe. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, got here on Friday and by Saturday morning we were ready to leave. We stayed in one of the lakeside villas. Very spacious but the quality was not at all what we were hoping for. Floors seemed very old, a few places looked like had water damage and maybe mold growing on it. Sofa was the most uncomfortable sofa I have seen in a hotel room. The TV remotes only worked by pressing any button about 5 times. No one slept well on the beds including my 3 children that can usually sleep on anything. Lastly the thermostats seemed to be inaccurate, one reading to high and the other too low. So one room was quite warm when we got there and didn't cool down till the sun went down. Friday afternoon at the pool - the kid splash pad was good for older kids. My youngest was enjoying it until the big bucket dumped water on her as she was trying to go down the slide and it pushed her so she hit her head. We've been to a number of similar and this was the first I've seen that had the water from the big bucket get directed onto the play place, and I see why the others didn't. She was done after the incident. The lazy river was hot tub temperature, and at the entrance we used the top stair was painted with what I can only call the opposite of non-skid paint. I slipped and hurt my foot, and we watched a lady after us fall too. Seems like it's waiting for an accident. Large water slide was good and my oldest enjoyed, but they have a 48" requirement so my other son couldn't go. Probably an insurance thing so I get it but always like to warn people they are strict about it. Lastly, and most annoying was by their bar there was a trash can that was over flowing and made the entire area smell like a dumpster. We got some drinks and ordeed some chips and queso and waited an awfully long time just for chips and queso. Ended up just leaving without the food. There were multiple staff members that walked by, looked at the trash but didn't do anything about it.
The staff was quite polite (and the only reason for the second star). Nobody was rude and they did offer a small discount when we checked out a day early. It seems like they just need more staff in general to try to run the resort. Unfortunately the whole experience ruined the trip and we were quite happy to be back home.
Needs some updating badly, rooms are not very clean, beds not comfortable. Stayed here twice and amenities were not open, all restaurants were closed. Buffet breakfast was open ONE of the mornings and it was severely overpriced for what they serve you. This place is not worth the money you will pay to stay here.
This place is pretty amazing and a great place for a conference.
The hotel has very good facilities but the rooms need some improvements, the beds super uncomfortable, the room had a very strong smell of humidity , they apparently does not clean the filters because my children left the hotel sick, the service is terrible, the food is very expensive for what they offer and the quality. The customer service in the pool area was horrible! We were attended by a waitress named (Tori) that if we did not call her she would not come to us, we asked for some chicken tenders and she never came back to us, when we went to pay the bill in the main bar of the pool area I asked for the cancellation of the charge of the tenders, the cashier told me that they are ready now if I wanted them, after an hour of asking for it! When she saw how annoying we were she dared to say that at least we could have it for free !! The activities were never at the hours that the program they give you at the front desk said. It's a shame because the place is very beautiful
Stay there the last weekend. Very nice place.... I coming back for sure.
Bad checking in exprirence, the overall interaction with the front desk was poor, they qere rude and extremely disconnect. Very bad customer service.
Staff was very helpful. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The view is fantastic.
Loved everything about it!!! Book as soon as you can. For a couples get away or a family vacation. Just go
shampoo smelled, everything was kind of grungy and smelled funny. It's all nice but just not well kept.
We had a family reunion here. We received the best service, the rooms were clean and the food at the restaurant was good. The price we paid for our rooms was reasonable. We rented a boat and spent the day on the lake and the next day we hung out in the pool all day. Overall I really enjoyed the time spent here.
Very beautiful place. The valet guys were very helpful helping me find out where to park myself and to reach my party. The dinner servers were very professional and courteous. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The food was ok. I had the chicken.
They are expensive and the place is not all that! The hotel from the inside is good. The pools and kids water park is good as well. I liked the tennis court and the mimi gulf too. My family and I stayed over for 2 nights for my birthday celebration. We stayed in the outdoor cotteges the rooms were not too clean but still not too bad. The worst thing was that our air conditioner not working and the sent someone over but still it didn't work. Also the keys of room stopped working all of a sudden and we were locked out of our own room. Then the day we were going to leave we get 2 bills and I go ask in the front and the said that I only paid half and so thats why i had a bill so i asked the lady in the front how much was my total bill for the reservation and she said $540 with some change. Then today I find out that they charged me twice on diffrent dates for the hotel reservation so more than a $1000 was spend for that hotel. I called today and the guy who answered gave me the number to people that can help with this problem and nobody answers so I left them a message hopefully then get back with me soon so they can resolve my issue. May I add that this is the most problematic hotel I have ever stayed in and I don't think I will ever stay here again!
Well, It is in a nice neighborhood
The hotel looks alot like the 80's and early 90's
Wonderful hotel and water park! Great for families!
I initially wanted to come, enjoy my trip, and give them a 5 star rating. And then I got there and that went out the window.
4 stars- I can't say anything about the hotel rooms since I stayed in the cottages. They were awful. Not only did they not have what the website said the rooms would have, the place needs major renovation. Everything is worn out, the streets were not well lit, and half the street lights either flickered or just didnt turn on. The beds felt like they havent been change since1940. And the pillows are literally the most uncomfortable things ever; they're basically flat by the middle of the night with weird clumps of stuffing in them. There are balls in them, like clumped cotton balls? I woke up with awful body aches. The bathroom shower doesn't have hot water, and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years. The place smelled so bad.
3 stars- room service is absolute . Put the sign on the door that said to clean the room, and the room still wasn't clean. No bigge. Saw the ladies outside working on the cottage next door so I just let them know and they said they'd take care of. Room was still not cleaned and no towels to shower with. Called room services multiple times, no answer. Called the hotel through my phone to get an answer. They said that they would finish all the rooms by 5. Came back to the room at 7. Still not clean. Called again. They finally came at night to clean out the rooms. Took them around 5 hours to get to our room, they didn't replace anything. No worries we still had plenty toiletries. The water from the bathroom smelt weird, and it left a bad taste in my mouth whenever I rinsed after brushing my teeth. Since I'm staying at the cottage area, I have a shuttle service to take me from the cottages to the tower (hotel registrations). I ended up just walking everywhere, because again, they never came.
2 stars- next day the room was 'cleaned'. They literally did the beds and left. No new soap was placed, paper towels, or tissues, the floors weren't vacuumed. Then I went to use the bathroom, and to my pleasant surprise, no toilet paper either. Shocking. Then the toilet stopped working, it wouldn't flush, then it wouldn't stop flushing. I'm so done at this point. Called someone to fix the toilet. No one came. The entire place smelt bad. And there were bugs everywhere. I understand it's outdoors and that there are bugs in general, but there were ants inside mating. Other weird looking bugs in the showers.
1 star- there was a cockroach in the bathroom. At this point I literally want to just burn everything I own, because of how disgusted I am with this place. Then the fire alarm battery stopped working or something, so it was beeping at 1 am. Did I call room sevice? Nope. They don't do anything. Just dealt with it myself. And at this point, I couldnt wait to go back home. I was stressed the entire time because everything was dirty, and I didn't feel clean after showering because A) bugs, and B) the water smelling weird. I had to constantly keep contacting room service, because they couldn't get anything right.
The rest of the resort honestly just looks gross. The lights are all dim. The amenities there all need to be updated. Everything is just worn out and barely functioning.
Nice views, but halls are muggy and rooms had a few broken fixtures (t.p. holder and sink stopper weren't working properly). Curtain doesn't close completely in bedroom. No chair on outdoor patio.
Nice resort and ok rooms. Carpet was stained and dated.
We went here for our 25th anniversary & loved it! They treated us great & even though it was a slower week night the food was fresh & delicious!
I was there for a conference, and it was very capable at handling that. Lots of available space with great acoustics and a comfortable setting. The taste of the food was a threat to my waistline. Delicious!
We booked a month ago after the recommendation from a friend. From what I read on the website about all the things to do for the kids, we expected the kids to have a lot of fun. We got the there early for a 2 night stay. Our cottage was ready early so we got to unpack and settle in before going to have water fun....Good! The appearance of the cottage (as someone else posted "shanty town ") was less than expected and the view from our "patio" was just dirt and the backs of other cottages and not the beautiful golf course as expected. .Bad. The inside was ok. We had to call for a shuttle to go anywhere since we were a good walk from everything. The "lazy river" was more like a small stream that made a quick oval and back to where you started in about 10 min. Or less. Drinks were expensive along with the restaurants. The "beach" was a small dirt/sand area ...more like a swimming hole at a lake. Not much sand playing there as advertised. All in all, we did everything the kids found interesting in one afternoon and now we are leaving a day early. Wasn't worth another night stay. The rates should have been half of what they were.
Very nice. I enjoyed the small water park and bar. The golf course is top notch. I highly recommend for anyone.
Fun place. Plenty of activities for kids, basketball, swimming and put put golf. Rooms are spacious and nice and clean. The people there a very helpful. Enjoyed my experience overall
