We had a grew at time here, very friendly staff, clean and great rooms!

Room wasn't the cleanest.. Empty medication bottle behind television, dusty, hair in drawers and on bed sheets, old red juice spill in fridge

Hotel room was very clean, staff was friendly, and the water park was great!

please be CAUTIOUS of bed bugs , last time we stayed 4 nights and me and my children were completly eaten up with bites...i tried to make a complaint via phone and email and no kne ever followed up it was just awful

I live 45 minutes away from the dells location and love going to this one due to the larger variety of dryland attractions.

Place was a tad smaller than the pictures let on , but the kids had a blast!!
Decent Food and Drink Prices not too expensive but not the cheapest either
Worth At Least One Visit and theres tons more to do in tthe surrounding areas

Compared to the other Great Wolf s I have been to (Wisconsin Dells and Sandusky), this one is definitely lacking and is the most disappointing. If you have the extra two hours to go to the Dells, do it. The water park here basically is the same one as Key Lime Cove with a little rustic twist. The walls are exactly the same (clouds and blue sky). There is no hot tub. The poolside bar costs $11.00 for a drink not including tip. A beer costs $8.00. Food is expensive too. The regular standard room is tiny compared to the same room at the other GWs and prices seem higher here as well. It does not feel like I m at the Great Wolf, the vibe is totally missing.

If we would have known there was no hot tubs we never would have stayed here. It s a very kid themed water park and hotel. If you plan on eating at the hotel, you may want to increase your credit limit. The Great Wolf in Gurnee is mediocre at best. If it s you re only option, it ll do. If you have others like the Dells, drive the extra hundred miles and go there. You ll have much more fun.

So we stalled a our arrival til around 4:30 to not have to wait in much of a line to check in. No lines, but no room until almost 6:15. Manager gave us a late check-out and some breakfast vouchers. Rooms are not worth "the experience". Finally made it down to the water park around 7:15 and had to basically hang out and get a look around before closing at 9. I would say, if your just as far away from any other great wolf, I would pick the other one.

Had a whole lot fun in here! Stayed for 2 days with my 6 year old. Every kid gets cute wolfe ears at the check-in. Waterpark was good size. Not too large but it worked great for us. All the slides were great and felt safe. We really liked the waves pool. They had safety jackets available for everybody. Nice electronic lockers paid by credit card or cash. Rooms are nice, quiet and clean. We had breakfast on site at the buffet restaurant. Good food and great selection. The only downside of the resort that it is indeed expensive. Only the waterpark and the room is included in the price. Everything else is extra. But it's expectable in american resort of this type.

Fun place for toddlers and kids who love water parks.

Clean, comfortable beds, decent amount of water slides, wave pool, good for all ages, dunkin donuts inside hotel, arcade, rock climbing wall, mini golf, magiquest, short lines in water park, located in gurnee very close to six flags, gurnee Mills mall, and many restaurants

It was nice but it was more for little kids then anything

Rooms are extremely small. My entire family got sick the day after and I developed my first ear infection in decades. The chlorine must not be working.

The facility's new rooms are good. i have a great experience when i check-in for the first time and want to return for the second time but my second time stay was not so good. i have charges that i did not made. MAKE SURE YOU RETURN THE TOWELS AND SCAN. AND DONT FORGET TO CHECK YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT BEFORE YOU CHECK-OUT! BECAUSE THEY WILL STRAIGHT AWAY GO TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND CHARGE YOU WITH THE TOWELS THAT'S NOT BEEN RETURN. AND NO ONE WILL INFORM YOU ABOUT THAT. NOT EVEN When you check-in .. I ASK THE CUSTOMERS REP. AT THE LOBBY ABOUT THE CHARGES AND THEY DID NOT KNOW... i call the accounting for the refund. if no one is checking their account then BYE BYE $50.

We had A-blast! The birthday party was great, Kiera our hostess ROCKED and worked hard to ensure we had an awesome experience.
Our party guests enjoyed a full day of fun and were totally tired at the end of the party.

I went here last month and it was fantastic. It had good vibe and good people. The service was good. I had a Lodge Cheeseburger and it was 4 and a half stars.

Lots of fun for kids. Good water temp. Clean rooms.

We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, IL with our teenage son and one-year-old. There was plenty to do for everyone, regardless of age. The staff were all patient, kind and charming. We can't wait to go back!

Great! Very clean. Very helpful staff. Room was ready on arrival got to get in our room 3 hours before 4pm stated check in. Will be back.

I wish I could give this place a 5 star but the front desk staff was not very pleasant at the time of check in. It takes forever to even get someone on the phone when you are calling the front desk. We love this place, great Wolfe lodge is our little vacation once a year to take our kid. I had called in advance and specifically requested a patio balcony because that is what we purposely booked for and at the time of check in they said we needed to pay a $40 upgrade fee for the balcony even though that s what our reservation was booked for. It just seems like the staff doesn t care as much when it comes to customer service which disappoints me. Do not use their vending machines when you are using a card because it will take your money. I called the front desk to ask about it and she basically told me to not bother or trust it.
I don t think our bath tub was cleaned because when we took a shower the tub was very slimy and the water took forever to go down the drain. I didn t even bother calling the front desk since they take forever to answer.
Overall we had a great stay & I would recommend it I just hope the front desk staff would be a lot nicer and welcoming for next time.

Nice and helpful staff. Lots of activities to do and they have done a great job with this place. Great Wolf Lodge is way better than Key Lime Cove. I will be back.

Loved this great Wolf Lodge. Been to the one in Michigan and the service here was far Superior. Had a lovely 2 day stay. Rooms and water park were clean.

Hot and humid in the pool area. So humid it was like trying to breathe through a wet blanket. Double room only have ac on one side, so we couldn't get the other side cool. Ridiculously expensive food. Took hours to get an inner tube to go on any slides or the super small lazy river.

Great place for a family to stay. Everyone loved the waterslides and entertainment!

Clean rooms with plenty of space, fun water park but was hoping it would be a bit bigger

It's a great indoor water park for kids but when I went there was no outside pool and the water park wasn't that big but it was fun

Never again! I spent way to much money to be stuck on the third floor with kids running around above me and outside in the hallway at all hours of the night. The hotel should enforce quiet time or not sandwich adults with teens in the middle of twenty 6 year old birthday parties. Also, the people next to us were smoking on the balcony so we wouldn t even breathe outside and they had a dog in their room! The walls here are paper thin! Horrible!

Everyone came home itching and burning from the water. They all complained of itching in the face after getting out of the salt water wave pool

It was great, the rooms were imaculate. I can see from the material delivery that they will be expanding soon. Which i hope is happening. This place has such a wonderful feel and the staff is friendly. Ive only been here twice but am looking forward to the next visit.

Service, staff, and safety were the absolute best. Cleanliness of the bathroom in the room was the only reason for not giving a 5 star.

There were so many things to do. All of them keeping children highly engaged and really fun. I feel like the giant bucket of water should be separated from the children's slides as it discouraged younger children to go on them. That much rushing water from a high place was very traumatic. All employees were very courteous and helpful. And the rooms looked grate!!

Was extremely happy while staying at the lodge. Was even offered another night stay for a very low price but couldn't take offer. Every staff member was helpful and cheerful.

Nice place to relax for the weekend and enjoy the indoor water park.

We stayed at GWL Sunday, 1/6/19 Wednesday 1/9/19. While we experienced a few of the negatives that some reviewers mentioned, overall, our trip was phenomenal. Our kids have said multiple times that they had more fun than at Disneyworld. We will definitely be back. I ll try to provide some details that aren t included in many other reviews.

Rooms: We reserved a Junior Cabin Suite. The room is nice, but there are a few things you should know. There is no door on the kids cabin. There is no clock or outlet available in the kid s cabin, other than one outlet very inconveniently placed on the wall next to the lower bunk s mattress. If you have kids that wait until a certain time to wake you up, you ll need a device to leave in there so they know the time. Counter space in the bathroom is VERY limited.

Activities: BUY THE WOLF PASS!!! It is a great value, and our kids (6 and 9) used every single item on the pass. They absolutely loved the Ropes Course, and we spent over 7 hours throughout our stay playing MagiQuest. If you like the arcade, at 2:30 on Fridays and Sundays you can play all the games you want for 15 minutes for $20. This is a great deal considering most games are $2 PER game.

Food: For our family of four, we spent about $40 at every meal. We thought the food was pretty okay, as long as you re not expecting gourmet. The tacos were a good value (3 large tacos for less than $10), as were the meatballs at Hungry as a Wolf. If you will drink soda while visiting, you can get a refillable 24 oz cup for $14.99 that will get you free refills at any of the freestyle Coke machines throughout the resort. If you buy a meal at Buckets (in the water park), you can get the refillable cup for only $9.99. Buying soda one at a time gets you a 16 oz cup that cannot be refilled, for about $3. The refillable cup is definitely a great value. We also went to local restaurants for some meals, which was a nice change of pace. There are TONS of places within a mile of the hotel.

Timing: The one thing I ll echo from other reviews is that places weren t always open at the advertised times. For example, the waterpark was supposed to open at 9 AM each day of our stay, according to the printed schedule we were given at check-in. However, starting on Tuesday, it didn t open until 10 AM. Dunkin Donuts didn t open at all on Tuesday. We were here at a non-peak time, so I think that influenced things. As long as you re flexible, you can roll with the changes in schedule. We went to a local pancake house for breakfast to kill time in the morning before things opened.

I tried to take pictures of pricing on activities and hours for things, so check them out for more information. Our family had a blast here, and all of the staff members we encountered were very friendly and very helpful. We would certainly recommend GWL to others.

Rooms are new and clean. The kids liked the water park. Dinner at the Campfire Kitchen was great. The shredded turkey lasagna excellent. The staff was beyond helpful.

For a strange tropical Oasis outside Chicago, this place is pretty solid. The water park is good, the arxad has a wide variety of games and the is minigolf. The room are clean and the suites have nice amenities.

Water was warm. Arcade was fun. Our k8ds absolutely enjoyed every moment we stayed there.

Staff was rude .no late check out ..charges for everything..

There is nothing to do with children, it is a matter of getting married

We had the BEST stay here. Our party consisted of myself, my boyfriend and our two daughters ages 1 and 7. We are frequent visitors to great wolf locations, since I was a child. My parents were actually engaged at the traverse City location. We have frequented the traverse location for the last decade. We have also visited Sandusky with my children. This location blows those two parks out of the water!! My tips are to book ahead and save using ESAVE coupon. Remember to add the wolf pass and go for the food packages. This was our first time using the dining packages we purchased the breakfast lunch and dinner for the entire stay (we stayed three days). It was WELL WORTH IT. We were full to the max our entire stay the food was good and we never had to leave the property. We purchased birthday packages and story time package. Everything was exceptional. The attractions are super fun and everything besides mining was included with the wolf pass. The mining we paid 12$ and it was worth it my daughter really liked it. We had the best time out of any stay at other locations. Also buy the unlimited pop cup for $10 so worth it!!! The employees are great. We stayed during the week and there were no wait times, no crowding and prices were alot better! The water park is so much fun and so much more to do than other locations the slides here are actually fun. I had just as much of a blast as the kids. I never wanted to leave!We will be coming to this location for our annual trip from now on!!! Sorry traverse and Sandusky.

Indoor water park has activities for various age levels and plenty of seating. Unfortunately all of the other activities cost extra $$

I booked two rooms at this hotel and requested they be ajacent to one another. My rooms were on two totally different floors. Our party had a total of three rooms (meeting here from 6 different states to spend time together and celebrate a birthday); mine had to be the one on the wrong floor. It was imperative that we had rooms in close proximity because each room had toddler age kids who wanted to run from room to room visiting cousins they rarely see. The customer service lead gave me a very difficult time stating I was irrational and was not lied to about the room location which was not true. when I received my wristbands I was told my rooms were on the same floor and 11 doors down from one another. When I went to check out my room it was on a different floor. one room was on the second floor the other was on the third floor. I called in advance and checked in asking that the rooms be together. Each time I was informed the rooms were not together, but down the hall from each other. When I asked for the manager (the head customer service guy) the guy said there was no manager on duty which everyone knows that's be false. Eventually, after much uproar the security manager / on-site visiting hotel manager assisted me finally resolving the issue. Our party was placed in another room on the requested floor. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the frustration of the whole issue. It would have been different if we had booked at the last minute, however we booked in advance and were told we booked early enough at the rooms could at least be on the same floor/hall is not adjacent to one another. my good note everything else was marvelous and the food here was really good. We ate inside the pool at a tiny restaurant. My babies still had a good time and the party was awesome. We will try a different water park in a different state next time. Sorry, only two stars because the restitution did not equate to the lies and destruction of character. I should have been treated better. The experience ruined my first day there. I was so looking forward to a wonderful experience.

From making reservations on the phone to actually being at the resort, the experience has been great. I would highly recommended KLC to anyone for an awesome little get away. Food, drinks, snacks, services and arcades are a bit pricey but it's really set up so you don't have to leave. They have plenty of activities that cater to younger kids, like arts and crafts. My wife got a message and felt very comfortable with the staff. Anytime we called the front desk for anything they were on top of it. We will definitely be returning soon.

Waterpark area was freezing! I asked to speak with a manager and was told one would call me but I never recieved a call. Another patron decided to throw a fake doll kid in a life vest into the water when the waves came in our kids were terrified... super disappointed!! It was my sons birthday

Fun water area but rooms a little worn. Good discounts and drinks. Breakfast buffet food not too great.

It's very overpriced so we only go around once a year. For the price of the rooms, I wish they were a little more luxurious but it's a basic room. The water park feels a little over crowded but the kids love it and that's what matters.

Room had staples or something poking through that I kept stepping on. For the price, I expect better.

Clean, room is a little out-dated, water park OK for younger kids, adults will enjoy less.

My boys are the cornerstone of our Rednerrus.com movement. They work very hard to inspire other young students around the city - to never surrender to failure when pursuing their goals. We had to treat them to a good time on the last day of school for finishing strong and getting good grades. GWL service was great and the water park was AWESOME!! We will be going back soon!

I called to add a day to the reservation I booked YESTERDAY for June and was told not only that no days could be added, but that as of today the hotel sold and they are cancelling everyone's reservations!!

We loved our stay. It was not during busy times. Right after check in, I recieved a text message from my personal assistant. Anytime I had a request, it was brought to my room in minutes. Everyone was very polite. The room we got was a nice suite. My first time ever in a suite. We had our own balcony, a living room, his and hers sinks in the bathroom, nice tall mini fridge. They had a lot of options for kids activities, bundled in a package as well a dining add on packages. They had a cool interactive magic game, all night arcade, build a bear store and much more. Great place for a family getaway.

I really enjoyed coming in here with my in-law and our kids. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The kids absolutely loved the waterpark. I ate at Barnwood- very good! Bardwood does have kid friendly food, but I think this is a very good date night vibe if you have someone watching the kiddos!

Venue was a bit small for the group but the service provided was excellent.

We paid $78 per person for a day pass for the water park. Then we had to pay another $15 for the locker. The changing rooms and showers were filthy. The place is very limited. After the slides, there s not much to do. The waves are on for 3 min and off for 15 min. It would have been nice to have a pool for lap swimming at least. Overall, a really bad value for money. i would not recommend.
