Absolutely great place for conferences. Some of the best food I've had at a large scale event.
Absolutely great place for conferences. Some of the best food I've had at a large scale event.
Kalahari was a great experience. Friendly staff, great slides, and ample amounts of entertainment.
Was here for smash and splash 5 was a blast cant wait till next year
Great facilities and services, but very expensive for everything. For most things don't even need to leave the resort, just be ready to pay for the privilege.
Enormous property. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The brew pub has a great selection of Wisconsin craft beers.
The water parks, both inside and outside, are lovely. The room was fully adequate, though the sheets are on the plastic-y side, and the shower temperate fluctuated often. I was really impressed by the breakfast buffet, only $18 on the Monday we were there and incredibly well stocked, with better than average coffee. The WiFi could use improvement, but if you're using hotel WiFi you probably don't have high expectations.
I had a fantastic time at the Kalahari. We had a party of 3 adults and 2 children, just enough to rotate adults between kids so everyone got a chance to do what they wanted. Awesome slides, and my personal favorite indoor/outdoor hot tubs. We stayed in the African Queen Royale Suite and it was spacious, clean, and had a balcony. And the main bedroom door locks if you want any private no kid time. The only downside was that it was my son's birthday and we played in the arcade, we didn't get enough tickets for what he wanted so I asked the staff if they wold take money with the tickets to get the item he wanted, but they stated they don't just sell any of the items. Kind of a damper for his birthday trip but I can probably find it on Amazon or Wish for less. Staff was courteous and professional. Will definitely be back again.
Pretty good experience. Had a small issue with the bill, but manager in charge at the front desk took care of us right away.
Super friendly staff, fun environment, great location as its by a lot of shops and restaurants, and the rooms are super cozy
Visited the AMC theater here. Was a nice place, not busy, many tickets available, and easy to get to. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a movie in the dells
Had a great stay at this resort. Family enjoyed the massive indoor water park. Afterwards, we returned to our two room suite which accommodated two families (10 persons). Room was well kept. Many activities to enjoy for the little ones. We will definitely return.
Terrible customer service. We had been coming to the Kalahari for the last 4 years for the 4th of the July. Our sons birthday is on the 2nd, so we always make an extended stay out of it. This year, unlike previous years, was a disaster. We were unable to check in by the given check in time of 4 PM. Our room was in awful condition (Royal African Suite). The doors did not close without a lot of force. Our front door didn't close without a considerable amount of force (Room 2446). To top off everything our air conditioning went out. We were brought up fans to try to "cool" the situation. Obviously that was not sufficient. We ended up complaining enough, that the manager on duty, decided to refund us our stay, at 10:30 PM, and ordered us to immediately vacate the property. He then called security, because I used one curse word, which given the situation, wasn't too out of line. The "head of security" Josh, instantly called the police. To say this was humiliating is an understatement. We had 3 kids with us, and were forced to leave at 10:30 at night. We used to speak so highly of the Kalahari, but not again. We used to always refer friends up to the Kalahari, but not again. The Kalahari has lost a long time customer. There are better places to stay in Wisconsin Dells, for a fraction of the price. We left, and headed straight over to the Great Wolf Lodge. Our kids have had a blast here! If you are considering the Kalahari, I would certainly recommend staying somewhere else. It is overpriced, and the staff treat you awful!
The staff is curteous and friendly and the rooms are nice. The food's pretty good but a bit pricey. I would give them 5 stars but I was unable to go on any of the water slides. I'm 6'3" and I have a 52" ribcage. All the indoor water slides are rated for 250 lbs or less with the exception of one which was not open during our stay. So if you're a big person there's not much to do in the water park. The lockers in the water park were 10 dollars. My wife and I wanted to get some apatizers and drinks without having to drive but their Brew Pub bar and restaurant closed at 10 on a week night granted they may have later hours during the peak season. I just figured their bar would be open later.
Had a good meal at the restaurant. Get ready to spend a few bucks but it's worth it in the end. I have the lobster and the wife had the scallops. They were both good and what you would expect from a higher end restaurant. We shared the lobster macorroni and that was also pretty good. All and all I can see myself going back. As for the resort... my wife booked a room they told us would be next to the pool, and it was in a different building across the parking lot.
Conference center was easy to get in and out of without going through the resort
I was here for a work conference and have been for the past few years. I like the facility. It is busy and it is definitely a great place to have conferences or event hosting. The resort staff are very friendly and the breakfast at the Kazoo offers endless choices for food.
It's just so much to do and it's family friendly affordable
Wow what an amazing resort. Disney quality and cost are about the same. Expect perfection because you will not be disappointed.
Excellent food. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.
We received a good price from the Facebook beat the clock deal. That was the only perk. When we arrived, the place was packed. I waited in line for over 30 minutes. Then when I checked in, our room was not ready. It was not ready until 3:45. Then when we were asking hotel workers for directions (since there were no signs to get to the skywalk once you get off the elevator), none of them knew how to get anywhere. Terrible customer service in this place. The food was WAY overpriced and NOT GOOD. $12 for a burger and fries is RIDICULOUS.
The rooms were very spacious and updated for an inexpensive price. Well worth it
Our Granddaughter absolutely loved her time at the Kalahari!
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Love the water park, average room for the price. The bathtub didn't drain. We had a blast!
My stay was incredible! Great service! I was also at the convention center. And huge water park!!! Definitely 5 stars!!
This truly is a great place to stay and pay but, a couple words of caution. Like with anything in the Dells, it's not cheap. When it comes to entertainment, you definitely get what you pay for, if you make the most of it. There are tons of things to do. Everyday goods can be really expensive, think ahead and stock up for your stay. Yes, there is a walmart within close distance along with a convenience store but, if you dont want to leave the resort, the convenience of those items will cost you. The complex is absolutely gorgeous but, vast. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes for walking and strollers for shuttling little ones around, you'll be glad you did.
The one major draw back we had on our most recent visit is the scheduling of housekeeping. The first day they showed up was around noon and we just started to feed our little ones. We weren't going to leave so, we skipped services that day. The next day, trying to plan ahead, we didnt return to the room until 1:30. The room wasnt services and they showed up at 3 to do it, right in the middle of nap time. We contacted the front desk around 4 and asked if we could get the room serviced while we were gone over the next 2 hours. When we came back, it still wasnt serviced. At this point, we gave up.
It is a great place with tons to do and a massive complex that is very beautifully decorated. We understand that it's hard to do everything to conform to everyone's schedules however, when you say something is going to be done, you need to make sure it's done. It's too easy to just feel like just another dollar in the stack.
We will be going back in the future. We will just make sure to speak with housekeeping about their daily schedules every morning.
Awesome resort a must visit if you're in Wisconsin the kidz were in
The beds are good, the pillows are okay, the blankets are great. The indoor water park is a little small compared to others, but it's still good all around. The outdoor hot tub is very good.
There was so much to do in just one resort. We had an amazing, 3-Day stay here. The Tom Foolery Game room, in door and outdoor waterpark, obstacle course, go-karts, lazer Tag bowling, and its conveniently located next to the Cracker Barrel. We very rarely left the resort. Great experience!
Great time had by all. 3 generations of family all at one time with great accommodations and lots to do.
Go for a conference excellent facility. Waterpark and other attractions has something for kids of all ages. Though expensive.
Most amazing vacation ever! This resort was incredible. We loved the water park and Tom Foolery's was a great time too. We enjoyed our stay so much send would highly recommend!!
Because I have a such good tenter I have good roller coasters good games good war park good everything
We were there for a video shoot. We're mostly in the arcade. It's a cool layout and looks like a lot of fun (I'll admit we did end up playing a few of the games).
They have everything in one place great vacation spot for the whole family
We have been going annually for a few years. This year we feel that service and cleanliness have started to go downhill. Hopefully this was only a momentarily lapse. Not sure yet if we will return again.
We spent our day at Tom Foolerys. OMG so much fun! Games, rides, bowling, drinks! You can't get bored here!
Well all I can say is of you abed or your kids like water parks it is hard to beat this one.
I've been going since I was a kid and it's still fun!
Pretty nice establishment, don't know how to measure height though
They have everything you need right here on site! will definiltely return!
We stayed in the Sands building. Room was decent, bathroom was small and its a bit of a walk from Sands to waterpark. The resort is huge. We only used the indoor and outdoor water park, the indoor theme park, other games cost extra. Plenty of places to eat at the resort. Definitely put $ on room key card that way u can charge things to your room and not worry about carrying $$ with u.
So much fun going on all the slides and don't all the fun activities there. Great place for the family and great place for kids.
Was there for daisho con and while I wasn't the one with the name on the room, we got a suite with the kitchen so we could cook. The dishes were dirty when we arrived, took 5 hours to get extra blankets for the couch pullout, there was a piece of broken glass by the fireplace, and trash in the dishes turnstile. They wouldn't offer any compensation but a 30 minute later checkout, or a discount for our next stay. Otherwise we had a lot of fun at the water park and the convention itself.
Very friendly bartenders, pricey but good food and drinks
Very good, very classy. Great theme to the whole place. Expensive, but you get the quality. Both indoor and outdoor waterparks are nice. Resort is clean. Location is nice, just off the freeway. Lots of restaurants nearby. Sometimes they put out sugar cookies in the lobby, yum!
Other then a bit of a mess up on check in with giving us a room someone else occupied. My first time here and so far really great! I mean a great view from our room!!
Our family had a blast at the Kalahari. I would highly recommend this place for families with kids. There is something for everyone. Amusement park, pools, water rides, arcades, weight rooms, bars, restaurants and much more! Amazing place to stay. The staff could not be friendlier!
I love it! My family ordered the royal African suite and it was amazing!
Great time kinda bummed room service didn't deliver to lake delton villas
Great time, great attractions. They are definitely a money-hungry business though. Everything costs something. Arcade games priced at $3 bucks a play?! I rate this four stars because of the fun but won't be going back because of the greed. For as much money as this place makes you would think they could keep more than just the rooms clean. The lifeguards were great, though I doubt they get paid what they should for as much money as this place must be making. All other employees we came across were not very friendly. Felt like I was just lining rich people's pockets. Outrageous prices on everything.
The indoor theme park is definitely not the best experience I have had. The laser tag especially was the worst. A lot of the vests didn't work and the guns as well. It's very shabby.
Nice outdoor and indoor waterpark, but indoor theme park sucks.
Very great place to stay the rows are amazing beds are very comfortable. But just pricey to stay.
Was very clean, tons to do (read into that as tons to spend your money on) was a little disappointed our room wasn't ready until late afternoon 330ish, makes it much more difficult to use the waterpark right away. There are lockers (you have to pay for them). All the food and drinks onsite are expensive, Tom Foolerys is like a Dave and Busters, the attractions outside of games are like carnival expensive, plan on spending a while there to get your money worth if you get wristbands. The waterpark is very nice, clean, and maintained. Size wise I think great wolf lodge is bigger but Kalahari packs more in a smaller space.
Only got to go to the dry park. It's not bad. Kinda designed for the younger crowd. But it was a blast. Was on the ropes course and I am afraid of hights.
We stayed at a cheaper hotel to save money but visited the Kalahari just to check it out. We probably could have spent a whole day there. Aside from the waterpark, there's a huge arcade (which was pretty spendy, but fun), ropes course, virtual reality stuff, Lazer tag, mini golf, pool, darts, etc etc etc all in one location. Walking into the lobby was impressive, beautifully decorated, shops, food gifts, etc. The restaurants we're also delicious.
I love this its so fun this is my 2nd year you have to go
Our families favorite water park in the Dells! Come here multiple times a year. Rooms are always clean, pool areas always clean, no garbage, tables clean. Life guards are professional but not annoying. Only issue is every once in a while there will be that couple making out sitting on each other very touchy in the hot tub. Gross. No need to come to a kids water park and then do that on display for my kids to see. I wish there was some PDA sign or the lifeguards would tell them to stop.
I love this place! We come here at least twice a year. It's a great year round getaway and a short trip from the suburbs of Chicago.
Great value, shops are decently priced, and the beds/pillows are super comfortable.
Great place. So much to do. Toy can easily spend a day there with all the activities.
NOT WORTH IT! You are better off staying in a nicer hotel for half the price and going to a place with better quality and better service. Don't let the big building fool you. A building can be filled with overpriced rude people that could careless about your vacation. There easter brunch is pathetic trying to mask the high cost and horrible food with a petting zoo and decorations. I would pick no star bit that isnt an option.
Absolutely fabulous Service! Made it easy to check in and a quick check out
It s the best you well love it ,I have been there like 6 times and it s always the best for you and your family
We stayed here for "that conference". The room wasokay, but, we werent here for the room. The pools and rides are great!
Amazing quality, not enough people come here and it is a shame
Rooms are always nice but a bit pricey, and I would give a 4th star if it wasn't for this. My group had a sporting event up in the dells so we created a block for the group to reserve. All people did, however, none of us were together. If you have a block I don't know why you wouldn't put the group together.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful
My favorite dells get away but I am an adult who loves waterslides so base your decision on that or your kids I guess lol. the appeal of the water slides here versus other places is the quality of water slides. They have more and they are far more entertaining than anywhere else. There are endless options go try it out for.yourself. if you're one that doesn't often let out your inner kid please come here and do so.
Very fun indoors waterpark. Many different fun rides, and I highly recomend the Master Blaster. There are also some cool places to relax such as the lazy river and an outdoors hot tub
So much to do! Very nice place. Swimming was fun but the games, rides and brewery took it up a notch!
Nice rooms and great accomodations. Some staff are rude but all in all nice place to stay.
Very nice hotel resort water park was one of the best water parks I've been to in a long time only complaint that I can say is that you're not pet friendly I think you should look into actually building a separate compound there in that area that would allow you to bring your pets you can build a really cool dog agility park for the people who bring their pets too all of the staff was phenomenal polite and very knowledgeable about the facility
Best indoor water park for a 2 & 6 year old. Enough big slides that it keeps the fun interesting. Drinks for the grown-ups are very expensive and the food wasn't worth the money (All food/drinks are expensive here at the Dells, but the drinks we're weak here, and the food kinda sucked).
The hotel upgraded our room when we checked in to a 2 room suite. It was a nice surprise. The King bed in our room wasn't up to par, as it feels like they should have replaced it...
So why 4 stars?
Pros:
-Water Park is open till 9p
-Theme park is open till 11p
-not crowded Sun-Wed
-Young kid friendly.
Cons:
-Overpriced drinks/food
-losey bed
Would we recommend? Yes
Attended a conference there. Everyone was very professional. Beautiful venue.
Water park was great, plenty to do for whole family. Bed was the main problem with our stay, hard and squeaky, also mini fridge was loud.
